We traveled here as a surprise present for my mother s 60th(+2) The entire experience was was wonderful, the rooms were clean and spacious, the spa and gardens were beautiful and well maintained. The food was amazing & all the staff we encountered were sociable and friendly. A special mention to Luke on reception who checked us in originally, he was very welcoming, informative and helpful and the female head-gardener (sadly didn t catch her name) who stopped for a conversation with us to tell us the history of the grounds and was also extremely welcoming and happy.

Really disappointed this time. The swimming pool area has the most uncomfortable seats imaginable. I have a bad back an cannot sit in an upright chair for the day and this is what they expect you to relax in. I couldn t wait for the day to end and would not recommend it. And there were plastic hard seats without cushions. The other disappointing thing , was walking a ridiculously long way through the hotel in a bath robe , that s huge and heavy , only to find you are amongst other diners in ordinary dress. Making a very uncomfortable lunch. Why the spa restaurant cannot be next to the spa is beyond me. The fruit selection was an apple and the free coffee was rightly free as it tasted of chlorine. The pool was noisy and no one seemed to mind screaming children. Not at all a place to come to if you want to relax.

Brilliant location for a wedding we attended, lovely venue for some great photos, awesome service and great food, the room looked a little outdated but was ok, drinks were overpriced, expect to pay a small fortune, 5 drinks for just under More

Don't bother calling the reservations team..... absolutely dreadful experience with two different agents telling me two different things about a spa package and the third telling me the package didn't exist.... all this just to make a reservation.

UPDATE!!

Having now just spoken to the 5th person, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. What an absolute joke of a hotel!!

Beautiful place, food lovely . staff lots of them. And very helpful . done everything for you,, rooms, lovely decor, beds very comfy ..but... I waited 40 mins for the reception to get our room sorted then they asked us to wait in very comfy lounge for another 20 mins.we were meeting with people and it takes me time to get ready I'm disabled so I found this a problem for me I asked for a room near the lift got it. asked for shower so that I could walk into .I got a bath with shower inside bath couldn't use it as I couldn't climb in, I could have complained but was only there for one night so I made do , duvet was too thin for this time of year so chilly at night no way to turn rads on .drinks very expensive ,now I know hotels are always dearer but thought they were over the top. if you are disabled do make sure you stress your disabilities they may have walk in showers they may have disabled rooms but was not told otherwise even though I told them when booking I was disabled . Note to self always ask although never had this problem before in other hotels The place itself is beautifully kept and the place is well worth a visit would I return I never say never but it's worth a stay .

WERDJS had the pleasure of providing our services for a birthday celebration within The Garden Court of these grounds. Really nice space of party s, weddings etc, garden area was very well maintained and made even better due to weather. The golf course was very busy so can only assume is popular?

Attended a meeting/party in one of the many halls. I didn't stay overnight, but the staff, were very helpful courteous. Parking was a bit scattered and dark as you have to park a good walk away from the main building, and rooms are very scattered. But they have a buggy service to drive you around the hotel grounds. Car park could do with more lighting as walking to your car during the night is difficult especially if you have kids, however the buggy service can take you to your car park area, if you want to.

Spa amazing and clean, treatments were enjoyable!
Excellent eating experience in the cast iron grill.
From walking in the door and being greeted by Andreea , seated and drink order taken. Meal was served hot and excellent taste. She was the best waitress I ve had in a long time! Service unreal and nice and polite! Andreea made our stay!

Had a lovely stay in Hanbury manor, a stunning county club just outside London ideal for a short vacation combined with or from London. It s a historic building with beautiful grounds & golf courts around it. Lovely atmosphere, great stay.

4 star property but 3 star restaurant. Food in Cast Iron Grill was well cooked but nothing special but it was twice the price of comparable restaurants. We ate out at the Sea Tree in Ware which I would recommend. Hotel room was very good and Spa facilities all good too.

We got married at Hanbury Manor last month. I found the website after lots of searching around and when we went along to see the venue we fell in love with it.
The people that showed us around were very helpful indeed.
I did all the flowers and table setting for my wedding with the help of some friends, and again the staff were brilliant. I stayed the night before the wedding and we had the most wonderful day.People are still talking about it now, and everyone says what a stunning venue.
The day was fantastic and memorable and the evening was just remarkable, with a magnificent performance by Hertfordshire band, The Bears.
Thank you to everyone involved.

Hanbury Manor is a gorgeous traditional British Hotel and Country Club in Hertfordshire. It has vast grounds that are green and lush, a great golf course, big old trees and quaint court yards. It is a wonderful country hotel and worth a stay if you ever get a chance.

This is really not a 5star hotel. The premises are nice, but the hotel is understuffed and the people are not properly trained. No concierge, no shop, no business centre. Service in general needs improvement. Have been served spaghetti without spoon etc. Marriot should do something about this since this hotel hurts their reputation.

My third time back here for spa day, I love it. Only two tiny reasons it's not 5 stars for me...
The changing rooms were cold which is a bit uncomfortable for changing in.
And it's not got very clear signposts of where things are like steam room or restaurant etc.
I'd still go back for a 4th time though. The cleanliness, the food, the staff, the full body massage, the pool, everything was amazing!!
