We went here for a wedding and stayed over night. It was a lovely venue for a wedding. The catering was great and the staff were very friendly.

The rooms in the hotel were nice and spacious but not very sound proof and some things (like the shower head) looked a little tired.

Great breakfast in the morning. Delicious buffet with everything you could ask for including a chef making omelettes and fried eggs to order.

It was an amazing time, the swimming was so fun, rooms were awesome and have everything you could possibly want in a room and the food was delicious. The outside was a beautiful view both at night and day.

love this place. lots of room to walk your dog and race radio controlled cars. there is a lake to sail your boats and swim. lots of places to camp
was some crazy folk that chased us with odd sticks hitting tiny balls who got annoyed when we collected them up and gave them back to them. they also get annoyed if you drive their tiny clown cars. just a warning

Me and my children spent two nights in the hotel, the staff were super friendly, we stayed in an prestigious room, which was absolutely amazing. It was big with a high ceiling and with a beautiful view of a lake.

The hotel has a very good breakfast, everything was very well cooked and presented. The fruits were sweet and the bread crispy, amazing English breakfast choices and pancakes for kids.

We especially liked the lobby, with it's stunning fireplace, amazing woodwork and generally a very cosy atmosphere.

We chose this hotel because it had signed up to the 'eat out to help out' scheme during COVID 19 and the fact that it had plenty of space 'set in 200 acres of beautiful countryside' - this sounded perfect for a break with our 5yr old daughter.
The hotel is great - the 'manor house' has been extended to become a hotel so you don't actually feel like your are staying in a country manor.
The rooms are okay - not amazing but decent enough and big enough for the three of us. There are the usual tea making facilities and an empty drinks fridge which you can use.
Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming - a very happy and helpful bunch whom Mariotte should be proud of.
COVID means social distancing and mostly everyone wore face masks and we never felt anything less than protected.
Swimming pool was excellent as far as distancing goes - only four families in at a time and you have one hour only - very well run
Distancing at evening meals was excellent - you book dinner and there may only be three tables seated at any one time in each dining area.
The food in the evening was good, nothing amazing and not much choice but this is fine during these difficult times and, easier to like during 'eat out to help out'.

The 200 acres of countryside is a bit of a stretch as this is unusable golf course - couldn't exactly ride our cycles around the course. there are a couple of small gardens areas but not really worth staying at the hotel for on their own.
All in all, excellent staff, good location if you are able to cycle roads or just play gold but not much at the site for families

Fantastic venue and scenery, with a walled garden to walk through and a small secret garden. You get given a map of the interior and grounds when you check in.

Food is a little pricey in the "Cast Iron Grill" but there is also a bar that serves an alternative menu and appears more reasonable.

Heavy golf presence.

My wife and I have always liked Marriott hotels and The Hanbury Manor Hotel is no exception.
Having seen the photos online they do not do justice to seeing it in reality. A large mansion looking place that sits in a beautiful country setting that is its own grounds.
The interior is wooden clad to mimic the age of when it was built. I will warn you that this place is quite a maze and it's easy to get....lost maybe??
Our room was the Prestige room, very large very comfortable with its own sitting area with settee, chair and coffee table. The bathroom was good, the bath did it's thing along with the shower although the toilet seemed a little half hearted with its flush!
We had an evening meal of fish and chips which was fantastic and a burger with fries on the second night, also very nice.
The service was outstanding and I want to mention our waiter Yetmir for his customer care, he was awesome.
This is a hotel we will return to I think, we loved it. If you want a little treat spend a little money and book it.

Went here for afternoon tea with the family, it was beautiful, made all the better with the lovely hot weather. Service was very good. The wasps were a bit of a pain when we sat outside, but that cannot be helped.

A Fabulous Elizabethan Manor house is the core of this luxury hotel and spa set in rolling countryside a short drive from the outskirts of north London, and situated about half way to Stanstead airport. It served for many years as an exclusive private school for girls it was sold to private investors some years ago and converted into the luxury hotel itbis today. It has its own golf course too as well as a beautiful dining room and excellent menu. It's well worth a visit, but one day/ night is not long enough to explore and experience the excellent facilities, although the spa is open daily it is best to book treatments in advance of your stay.

My family and I had afternoon tea here, the room we were seated in was beautiful and the food was great. The service was a little slow as they were busy and we had to wait for our first tea for longer than expected. It was far too easy to over indulge on the sandwiches and be almost too full for the cakes as the staff came back and offered more as well as one that were not on the original plates!

My husband booked for myself and daughter to have a four night stay here. On arrival the staff were polite and courteous, we had a double room over in the orchard wing on the second floor. The room was a good size and beds were soft and comfortable, apart from the 3 pillows which were far too soft and took a few nights to get use to. We couldn't wait to use the pool so ventured down to look at the facilities. The pool and changing room was absolutely 5 star. The pool was lovely and warm and a reasonable size with a little spa pool on the side. On the second day we had some spa treatments booked a back and shoulder massage for myself and a manicure for my daughter. I was more then pleased with my massage (Marie) did a fantastic job and I loved the aftercare provided too. My daughter said her manicure was great too. We had dinner booked for 2 nights at the Cast Iron Grill, the food was delicious and our waitress (Anita) was very helpful and caring this made our dinner service most enjoyable. The cardio and weights gym was very well equipped and comfortable to use. Was woken up at 2am on one of the nights from some noisy and drunk guests who made a lot of noise in the room above mine, but was put to ease after calling the night receptionist who said she will deal with the matter asap. Breakfast was buffet style and had a selection of full English, continental, bakers pastrys, and a lovely selection of fresh fruits. It was very tasty but would of liked to see a vegetarian alternative like vegetable sausages instead of just pork. Overall we have had a brilliant stay and would definitely be back!!!!

Beautiful grounds, pleasant staff. Rooms are a little old and the lifts and other public areas smell terrible sometimes but it was clean. Be aware the pool is 1.1 to 1.5m deep and the steam rooms are segregated in the changing rooms. Free teas and water in the pool area.

My company had their Xmas party here.
They lost someone s room reservation, and that the company had booked pre-dinner drinks. Both were sorted out though.
The hotel was fairly nice, there is no water bottles in room for environmental reasons, which I am all for, instead you are provided a jug to get water from a water dispenser on each floor, except the one on my floor was empty, and remained empty for the entire stay, despite me telling a staff member.
The dinner was nice, we had a private dining room, and the staff were very attentive.

Overall the stay was fine, let down by a few things, but for the price I would have expected better.

Beautiful grounds of the hotel and kept very well.
Unfortunately the letdown was the dinner where the main waiter: Adrian was extremely rude to my wife and myself. The manager Kostas is investigating currently but for the high prices you pay for the food and especially drink no customer deserves to deal with the treatment that we did.

Sunday afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. Excellent service as you might imagine. Large choice of teas, and tea all of which is unlimited. Kids are welcome and have their own three tier cake stand of goodies. Not cheap but worth it for that special occasion.

Staff were very friendly and attentive although 1 waitress did slightly patronise a more junior, younger staff member which felt a little awkward. The room we stayed in was a large, manor house guest room with a king bed. The bed was enormous and comfortable, nice tea and coffee setup with a fridge, dressing robes and all other usual accessories. It was clean and had personal touches which are important. The food in the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced with a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. The hotel was busy due to the golfers and it is wedding season but that is to be expected.

Reception awful, not so much individual staff, more so organisation. As a Marriott member I'll be fearful for the next time I attend unless I've a spare 20 minutes to get round the confusion of booking in. Software working!? Trained staff? Carrying for members?

Stayed one night during the recent August Bank holiday. I was disappointed with the service. The waiter service was chaotic and very lackadaisical and reception seemed totally disinterested when asking for another bath robe in the bedroom as they only supplied one for a room where two people were staying. Spa was ok but nothing special. Food was distinctly average. You will be disappointed if you are expecting a 5 star hotel.

Being in this hotel is a dream. The design is more than beautiful, every time I go I feel that I m not in Uk anymore.
The customer service, the room s sizes and the food are excellent.
The spa is amazing too plus the staff from there and their amazing massages.

I will always recommend this to anyone, with or without kids...

Everything there is splendid and beautiful
