Room on the highway side was not very quiet. Restless night
I stayed at the Hampton inn in Dade City, Zephyrhills FL, my son in law booked the room under his Hilton Honors and I paid on July 22, 2018 I arrived on August 16, 2018 and was told that I did not pay and asked for my credit card I told her I could show her my confirmation that it is fully paid she then still ran my credit card saying it was declined I told her again that I can show her it's paid in full in Tennessee (corporate office) she said we are not in Tennessee we are in Florida and took the $80 hold off the room and ran my card again and was able to put another $495 on my card which left me in Florida with no credit card and no money I spent 2 hours on the phone with fraud prevention with you credit card to find out it was corporate, corporate office said they would contact them directly then management contacted me to say my card would be credited back in 3-5 business days but I was only in FL 5 days so it,was no help to me I have never dealt with such poor customer service in my life I felt they were not willing to go above and beyond when it was there fault I received my refund the day I was leaving it was already a stressful trip with my mom critically ill she is the only family of have there so my experiance with this hotel was terrible and it all started with corporate not doing what they were supposed to do so this wouldn't happen
Had a wonderful stay. Luanne at the front desk was a very pleasant and helpful person she really has a delightful personality.
Clean and enjoyable. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is decent. Shower has pealing paint though.
My family and I stayed here for the first time. We had a great time. The hotel, the pool and our room were all clean, the staff so friendly and professional. We met Amanda at the front desk who was SUPER nice and so helpful! The breakfast was delicious, they have coffee, tea and cookies throughout day and night . My daughters enjoyed the pool. The area is great. There is a CVS, McDonald s and Friendly s a 2 minute drive. We really enjoyed our stay and if we come back Sturbridge we will definitely be back at this hotel!!!
Everything was great. Breakfast was really good! Only thing that wasn't great is the floor in the pool area and in the pool. It's made of a bunch of small pebbles. Some have broke loose and fallen out. It really wears on your feet after a few minutes. It starts to hurt a bit. That's really the only thing that we were unhappy with. Not a big deal at all just unexpected. Other than that we had a great stay.
Stayed there last night for my honeymoon worst night beds were hard tv broken my wife threw up the breakfast and I was in so much back pain I had to go to the hospital got no refund when asked they treated with police and management was very lacking and so was the girl at the front desk been going there for a while never been treated this way
I am local to the area and found myself in need of emergency accommodations last week due to a prolonged power outage in town. My partner and I had funeral services to attend to during the week and we needed a place to shower and get prepare ourselves for such.
I'll spare you the novel that could be written about our 48-hour experience in this "hotel" and give you the basics:
Staff interactions:
1) Twice was left waiting at front desk for several minutes only to have someone to emerge from the office without acknowledgement of wait. No masks worn by any employee I came into contact with.
2) Called to request a 2pm late checkout due to personal reasons and was immediately cut off with no, its at 1pm before I finished my sentence.
3) Disturbed by housekeeping 30 minutes prior to previously confirmed checkout time - clearly there is a gap in communication between front office and housekeeping departments.
Cleanliness Issues:
1) The entire guest room reflected that it certainly had not been inspected after being serviced. Toilet seat was up, hair found in shower.
2) Hair clip from previous guest found under couch
3) Paper trash found in corner of room by window; old room key found on floor by wastebin
4) Oily smudges on both nightstands
5) Sheer window curtains missing entirely
6) Entire room/public spaces were poorly vacuumed (or debatably vacuumed at all to be honest)
Considering the country is still in the middle of a barely-controlled pandemic, it seems flat out irresponsible of hotel management to allow their product to be sold in this state. I brought my concerns to the front desk with a modest request for a 20% discount off my stay for the inconveniences and potential exposure to God-knows-what and was told that they didn't have the authority to do so and the GM would be contacted. 10 minutes later I was told by the desk agent that "15% was the best he could do" and that "he'd do it later and email me". 5 days post-checkout and no contact from hotel, and a full charge to my credit card.
Called the hotel today, managed to get the GM on the phone (likely because he answered at the desk) and received a "we were in an emergency, there was a tornado" (no we weren't, no there wasn't) as a response to my cleanliness concerns. Additionally, he told me he would "give me his job" and "wouldn't be here if he could collect unemployment" - then snappily told me he would put in my discount (which obviously hadn't been taken care of as promised days earlier) and that he had people to check in, before hanging up.
After that interaction, it's very clear to me why my minimal interactions with employees were sub-par, and why the hotel is disgustingly dirty. Simply: no one cares.
Do yourself a favor and do not stay here. There are plenty of comparable alternatives in the area, and if you can't find one of those, choose an AirBnB. Save yourself the headache and potential exposure to COVID-19 or worse.
A Hampton that has figured out how to maintain a hot tub!! Convenient to Sturbridge's attractions and amenities. And, with the town police station and state police barracks as neighbors, probably the safest spot in town!
This place was "moderately" clean - thankfully I brought my own Clorox wipes to wipe down the grim on the bathroom door, tub, and sink. The room smelled like it has once been a smoking room - a mix of musty carpet and old butts. Thankfully, I had my own Lysol. The pool? It had oily stuff and particles floating on the top. We asked for new towels and the trash to be taken out, as it's coronavirus rules, and they only do housekeeping if you request. By 5:30pm, neither had been done. The shower curtain was too small for the poorly caulk-repaired shower. We paid for a room with a microwave/fridge combo. Set on high, the fridge was barely cool. The breakfast buffet was closed due to coronavirus, so we were given a bag with soft apple, a greenish orange, a dry blueberry muffin, a water and a soft granola bar. They could have easily purchased egg McMuffins from the nearby McDonald's, or provided coupons, something besides this sad little breakfast bag. The hotel was noisy, from inside, and the sound of traffic could also be heard. The room has very few outlets, so bring your own power strip for your electronics if you have to stay here. The only reason we stayed was because we had a power outage at home due to Hurricane Isaias. We checked out two nights early. Supposedly, the cancellation was going to be emailed to me. It was not. I called the next morning to make sure the cancellation had gone through and it had not. Super slow free wi-if. Stay somewhere else if you can. One good note: the shower had a lot of water pressure and was super hot. Unfortunately, the fan in the bathroom did not work and the mirror was very steamy.
Beautiful hotel great service and clean pool/jacuzzi area!
Adequate amenities, conveniently located, pleasant staff; however, numerous details need attention to maintain a competitive edge with newer properties.
My room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable.
Older property. Made reservations online and asked for rollaway bed. Arrived and they said they don't have rollaway beds. Pool area very smelly. Staff was very friendly.
Great staff and very comfortable. They will be remodeling which will give them a 5 star.
The stay here was perfectly fun for a 13 year old birthday get together with friends/family, the staff in the front desk were amazing friendly & understanding. There was a little scare upon renting the room do to a mix up I wanted the suit & good thing I called because they had gave me a regular size room & they right away fit the mix up & everything was gravy! The pool maintenance guy was nice & the area was clean, a little down fall on pool pebbles a couple of the kids got cut & pool by the 5 feet area had lots of pebbles? Breakfast area is very nice & everything was great kids enjoyed!! overall a great location low key, clean & fun! Thank you Hampton Inn for having us & taking care of us when needed! Ps coffee/hot coco 24hrs yum! & the yummy Kaye night cookies!!!
While the rooms were adequate and the beds comfortable, the noise in the rooms facing the highway were not pleasant. I had a hard time sleeping due to hearing trucks pass by every few minutes. The gym was decent although the scale was broken. The breakfast was good, as i expected from a hilton hotel
The elevator needs replacing. The bathroom hardware is rusty, the food was ok, they seemed to keep running out of everything.
Nice place clean room breakfast very good
And the coffee hot and fresh
Nice and quiet would recommend and will come and stay again, the 1 hiccup was I couldn't find a parking space at night.
The staff was great! Luanne was refreshingly friendly towards my son. A great stay.
Accommodations were acceptable. Breakfast in the morning.
2016-03-19 Hampton Inn Sturbridge
41st unique visit to a Hilton Hotel
Parking: ample and they have 3 reserved spots to park upon checking in-a nice touch. We spent 4 days at this quiet Hampton Inn and were pampered by the normal pampering you expect from the Hampton branch of Hilton.
Check in: swift and efficient.
Room: clean and the bed soft and comfy. Closet was adequate for a stay of 4 days and there is also room in the dresser for other clothes you may want to stash away.
Bathroom: clean and everything works for the most part. The second day the toilet would not flush-something broke inside the tank. They took care of the next day as we mentioned it on our way out. The next day the toilet wouldn't flush. Not our week for toilets-no big deal-it was handled and in good working order when we got back.
Noise: very quiet not much outside noise
HVAC: just a little normal hum of the a/c unit, but not enough to disturb your sleep.
Room darkness: 90% but there was light leaking from the middle of the curtains-had to plop a pillow against it to keep the room dark.
Amenities: small refrigerator, Microwave & Flat screen TV with HBO, complimentary newspaper.
Breakfast: The normal Hampton Inn type breakfast. Scrambled eggs or omelets, Bagels, Danishes, Fruit, oatmeal, juice, yogurt, cold cereals, coffee, Canadian bacon, waffles, gravy and biscuits, apples, bananas and more-they change the selection of hot foods daily.
Wi-Fi: included
Fitness center: we used 3 times-some free weights, bench, elliptical, treadmill and recumbent bike a TV to watch while your workout-everything in good working order.
Evening snacks: Cookies available if the timing is right, coffee and hot chocolate/tea available in different flavors.
Staff: Excellent. One night we got back late and wanted some tea and the desk manager went in the back and not only came back with 2 cups of very hot water, but about 5 boxes of various types of tea. Wish we had written his name down.
Checkout: flawless.
Clean and following the guidelines keeping everyone safe! Great job!
Horrible experience! I had makeup stolen from my room and the hotel is refusing to do anything about this since there's a sign that states not to leave valuables out. This is completely unacceptable and even more concerning that they are not worried that someone on their staff has committed theft.
No fridge in room was ridiculous and a pain, choose for pool but was so cloudy u couldn't even see the bottom didn't even smell like chlorine afraid it was not clean
Staff is good and breakfast is good too. Hotel is clean but location is right on highway! Too noisy
New and updated feel, with good amenities. Easy to get to off the highway.
Pretty typical Hampton Inn stay- book online and save some $$$- place was definitely a ghost town due to Covid- no hot breakfast Covid excuse...
No refrigerator in my room (201). Elevator has an expired inspection. Not the nicest Hampton.
Nothing super fancy but it's very clean, friendly and prompt service and the breakfast was solid.
Nice - but a little outdated and just seems tired. Otherwise clean, can't go wrong.
Was very disappointed in this Hilton. Apparently at night they do not have proper staff so if there is a problem or you need something expect to wait.
1st we had two pull out couches for the kids. When we got there it was late probably about 10pm. we went up to the room and there was no linens for the pullout couches anywhere in the room. We called down to ask and she said she would bring them up. Well about a hour later we get half the things and then one of the kids a teen went down to get the rest. as well as extra towels we asked for.
2: in the middle of the night the toilet backed up. We called down for the front desk and let them know. Well we waited about 15 to 20 minutes and heard something at the door. To our surprise when we opened the door the plunger was in a bag leaned up against the door. We opened it just in time to see the lady walking away. She turned around and said "ohh I didn't want to bother you " umm we called you about the toilet hello! We were then left to unclog the toilet ourself and have a dirty plunger in our room the rest of the stay.
3. When we went to breakfast the staff was rude and busy talking with each other in Spanish. My son burnt his had on one of the dishes as the guard was not there and when I asked for ice she just looked at me perplexed. I then went over to the milk bowl and grabbed some from there. As we walked to the bathroom to wash our hands we about tripped over the garbage bag they had left in the middle of the hall right around the corner from where the breakfast area is.
4. When I asked for a manager they said none was not available and would call me later. The manager did call later and they took a small percentage off the room. I was not impressed especially having to deal with the toilet overflowing and the mess.
made reservations and had conformation of said reservations. Drove 3 hours to find out they cancelled our reservations without contacting us. They had booked up in the mean time(supposedly). Never again will i try to give them my business.
Clean rooms. Has tubs still which made me happy. Could use a cleaning in pool area and covid restrictions posted for pool for limit of people is good but noone informed me of a sign up sheet. You don't know unless you go to the pool and see it. That's be good to have posted at front desk as well. Also watch out for divots in parking lot. Hopefully they fix this!
Only visited for a class, but the hotel was very clean considering the weather.
Good Hampton to stay at. Right off the highway. Clean and comfortable. Decent free breakfast. The only downfall is not within walking distance to restuarants or bars.
We stayed 1 night in Feb 2013. Our room was with two very comfortable queen beds. The covers were very nice - I think down or down alternative - light, fluffy, warm and breathable.Room was clean. The only negatives are there is no mini fridge and the room was on the smaller side. We did not have any problems with noise, but I am not sure if that was because there were very few people in the hotel that night or it is well soundproofed. Breakfast had good options and coffee was better than many other places. Internet was ok.
Nice, clean room. Quiet and comfortable stay. Great pool and hot tub. Free breakfast included.
The staff was very friendly, and made time for my requests even with the added pressure of a large number of guests from a local competition. I love Hampton Inn and Suites, and this experience has only reinforced my feelings!
Good job!
One of the worst hotel stays I've had in a long time. I was put in a room right next to the elevators and lobby and the front desk would not move me (claimed the hotel was full); the noise was awful (constant string of loud guests checking in through midnight). Walls and door paper thin. Hotel was designed by an idiot. I recommend staying somewhere else if you plan to actually sleep. The next day I tried to adjust to a late check-out and the front desk was just as unhelpful.
To be fair, there were limited options the front desk had given how full they were and they were apologetic. I'll go with 3 stars.
Great hotel, always stay here when we're in the area for Wicked Big Meet.
Nice hotel. Close to the Publick house ,a good restaurant for dinner. Close to I 84
Great experience here! My mother, two kids and myself stayed for the night. The rooms were clean, staff was friendly and had an exceptional management staff with Luanne and Joel.
Loved the friendly staff clean rooms beautiful pool.
Nice hotel. Pretty standard for a Hampton Inn. Friendly desk staff. My room was exceedingly quiet. Easy to find. Nice fruit selection at breakfast.
Staff are very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are excellent very clean spacious and the beds are very comfortable.
We received great customer service throughout our stay and the rooms were clean and spacious.
It was a tiny hotel, but the suite we stayed in was actually quite spacious. The "dinning room" for the complimentary breakfast was very crowded with standard food for the chain, but the staff were very helpful and accommodating, so it's a bit of a mixed bag.
The worst!!!! Don't stay here!!! Owner/Manger does not care about their customers. I left 5 messages for him to contact me with a problem about misrepresentation of the 'deluxe room' we reserve and he NEVER gave us the courtesy of a call.
Loved the visit. The staff were fantastic and very friendly!
Would be 5 stats for service and cleanliness, but the eggs at breakfast had ham mixed in them. I don't eat pork and had to buy breakfast down the street.
So happy they have a hot tub and pool! Nothing unusually wonderful nor terrible. Everything was "fine".
I never actually made it there. I had booked a room on a Saturday evening, for Sunday evening. I called an 1.5 hr later and cancelled. The receptionist assured me the reservation was cancelled. My card was charged on Monday morning. I called 2 times a day from Monday to Saturday. Every time the receptionist said it was up to the manager they could not reverse the charges. On Saturday I finally got the manager, He was extremely argumentative, saying their policy is to charge if cancelled within less than 48 hours.
My reservation was made within 24 hours of the stay and cancelled within 1.5 hours of making it.
The fact it took 5 days and no one contacted me, extremely unprofessional. then argued with me.
I would rather sleep in the storm drain on the side of the highway than give Sturbridge MA Hampton Inn any of business.
Good morning's and a lot for me but if we do the work done and a good weekend I was thinking I will try the following is not working in your company in this thread for you are doing fine but
Sturbridge MA, nice rooms. Wished the fan in the bathroom worked. Disappointed the pool was closed the first night. Great breakfast.
Went after a wedding, everyone was staying there, hotel crew was super nice and let a group of thirty + of us drink in the reception area, good stuff
Was told they were sold out of rooms, unless I booked for two nights instead of one. Oh so you aren t fully booked you just want more money from me, great company policy. I ll do business elsewhere.
Great place pool and hot tub open surprisingly and friendly service
I stay and Hilton properties all the time. This one needs to step up there game. High Allergens in the rooms (Wife slept in the lobby one night) not enough breakfast or coffee for all guests (We got none), Staff seams like they don't care (Just doing a job)
This is how you should run a hotel chain. Clean and friendly.
Disgusting hotel. Stains on a carpet, piles of dust on the lights, banged up furniture. As a Diamond, I was shocked this is a Hilton. Very rude and unprofessional staff. I had to switch rooms 3x before I finally got a decent room.
Do NOT stay here if you are on vacation. (Summer people) business travelers....go somewhere else. So gross!!
Bright clean hotel. Loves the breakfast in the morning
Clean, well appointed room. Friendly staff. Easy access of the Mass Turnpike and breakfast included. Just what we needed.
