I had to renew my CCW License in Room 100. There was no line. The employee's were helpful and the transaction was seemless. I'm sure the fact that I used to be a well known Court Officer down there helped just a tad bit

Food served a dog wouldn't eat, literally dogs would pass on it. Sanitary conditions are awful. Mold in the showers - just to name one, along with un-cleaned restrooms for a week at a time (that doesn't sound too bad? Well consider 55 grown men sharing that 1 restroom and ask me if it should be more than just a weekly cleanin. The CO's are divided in half. Half of them care, and will extend helping hands to help an inmate. The other half prefer to downgrade you & compare you to something like the crap on the bottom of their shoe. Things such as getting cussed out, very vulgar racial slurs, even the CO's threatening our lives and our families lives (finds out information through Facebook for example) are not uncommon. Certain units like the psyche unit needs serious equipment upgrades - along with more staff training/education. There were numerous situations witnessed weir equipment/training/education prevented a situation from being handled properly - & most of the time due to this the inmate is on the suffering end. The saturation of drugs within the jail is no exaggeration. Overdoses are not too uncommon. I do understand when COs walk around at 2AM to do their rounds, they must be able to see into the cell to make sure both people are there, but not turning the lights off at all 24/7 for 365 is unreal. Your mind starts to go crazy, to lose track, to really trick itself almost. I have seen documentaries where jails/prisons have a stress/argument relief system. For instance, a jail in New Mexico allows 2 inmates who are having disagreements or personal issues, go get into a boxing ring and box to let out stress and get their anger out. Shaking hands at the end is a must, and of course all proper protective gear is required to be worn. Consider the amount of violence such as fighting, stabbings, harassment & so on this prevents. This could be a relatively cheap tool to implement into the system that cooks real large safety benefits in the long run. This list could go on and on and on, but we will stop there. Now onto this..

I will say that these negative things are not necessarily the faults of the COs, their Sargaents, police officers or even judges. A contract signed at the time of casino building with a food company has the menu locked in place for years to come. Certain rules such as the lights being on could be state policy and for obvious positive reasons such as to prevent rape, murder, and on. I did see a very positive thing, people higher up the pay grade getting involved. Sitting down with inmates, with COs, asking what is going on. What are problems, how can we fix them? What is working and producing good results, so we can implement it facility wide? I am a firm believe it all starts from the top and works it's way down. After seeing events like these, I do see a potential bright future for HCJC.

Although the future may be bright, and I hope every day they get better and better, unfortunately with the current state being so bad - I still must give a 1 star rating. Hope nothing but the best, positive and upward growth for facility & staff, and for the inmates may your time go by quickly and easily, and prayers fo keep you on the path away from jail.

Very busy place! Everyone working there was very helpful. I went there to visit an inmate and was treated very nicely and everyone was very professional! Especially Mrs. Tina Huber who is a deputy and correctional officer.

They dont deserve any stars! #1 Worst Jail in Ohio I was threatened by a co at visitation he made my 6 yr old cry he was very rude and unprofessional! He was treating me like a inmate! I asked for the supervisors # he gave me the wrong # then after my visit I asked for his name and he said you know what I'm going to write my superiors and tell him you were aggressive mind you the whole time I'm holding my 1 year old son! CO Karnes became upset when I asked him for his supervisor # that he threatened me and my kids that we would be able to visit our loved on for 6 months! I truly am afraid to go down there and visit because this Co is out of control my 6 yr old has really been threw alot not having her dad around and to go to the jail and be treated like we were Is truly out of line! I have contacted a lawyer!! The Justice center need Help people have rights and shouldn't be threatened!

From my experience ive been inside that place and as a visitor there.. regardless ur treated the same.. yea its jail cant expect anything more than less.. but as a visitor there i i expe a little more.. i ient there to visit someone on the dates an time allowed, i understand things go wrong can happen and the importance and need of security to come first.. i come from outside of the county can only visit on very few ocassions and within dates time and requiements i understand again i understand unexpected things occur an can change but as a vistor i i expeed to be treated as one and not an inmate. When i tried to visit and am told visits have been cancelled because security cameras are down and theyre theyre unsure 4 how long that 1 time ended up to be for the day and another time for only 2 hours i get it.. they dont dont know makes me question if security is so important why does this continue to happen Hamilton co should be able to afford better security cameras an have a more reliable way to back up or prevent this.. they obvious put little money in such important part of security.. the co was rude and could careless 2 give a damn end of shift ready to leave..wow as a visitor he couldve at least offered less if info of past times and maybe offered a phone number or website to check for any changes to know if visiting situation changed probably cant afford that either.. as a vistor i took my time to come there can at least let me know or direct me how i can find out aby new info.. he was rude i i w left not knowing anything.. unless i iat at a meter paying it to wait.. wasting my time and money.. system as broke as cameras, communication system, and consideration cos have for visitors ir any info for that matter.. if you offer visiting hours with set restrictions at least have same courtesy for vistors to pist on website or a recordi if anything changes not much to ask in return, or maybe jyst a touch of common courtesy from the cos to those who visit for unexpected problems and little or unknown information to solution but that is asking just as much to have or fix even other issues.. i hope they get the same courtesy when they need it in return..

Well... for starters it is a jail. So don t go in expecting much. As an other side of the plexiglass visitor, there s much to be desired. The visit times are short and hells waiting room could use a clean and an update. The visiting system could do with a logistics update. Would definitely rather not have to visit, but that s up to my criminal not me.

Some great views of the city unless your one of the unlucky ones with no window. The guests very from nice, quiet and polite to angry, loud and psychotic. Sometimes you'll have to share a room with a stranger.."stranger danger anyone" The staff doesn't keep up with cleanliness because for the most part it's filthy. The food is all soy based food and it tastes like Pooh because they are constantly getting new cooks and the food doesn't fill you up.

This is one of the worse places. The guards are pretty mean except a select few. I understand its jail but there is nothing for you to do to better yourself while your there.... No classes of any kind. Your bunked with whoever you get and locked in a small cell with maybe CRAZY and no one cares.

Top notch hospitality! Let me start of by saying that my stay here was not planned. I'm not a very spontaneous person but after a few drinks I thought why not.. Upon arrival I was greeted, BY NAME, by several staff members. Don't know how they knew my name prior to checking in, I guess the shuttle driver called ahead to announce my arrival. He was an outstanding chauffeur! Don't know why he made me wear those god awful bracelets but he said they were for my safety. After the five diamond reception I received staff members immediately collected my luggage, all my belongings, and safely secured them in a private locker. For some reason cell phones are not permitted, the only reason I'm not giving a 5 star rated review. Once I was relieved of all my wordly belongings I slipped into a very loose fitting, comfy, jumpsuit. Ahh.. Now I'm starting to feel pampered! While I waited for housekeeping to prepare my room I was served a brown bag lunch. Best brown bag lunch ever! Dry bologna and cheese sandwich, my favorite! Before long my room is ready! My stomach is full and I'm ready for some quality nap time. Although the room was a little dated the sweeping views of downtown Cincinnati definitely make up for it. Some of the other guests were a bit noisy, typical of a downtown property. Especially during Bengals season. After gazing out at the skyline for awhile I dosed off for what turned out to be the best nights sleep I've had in years! I have a bad back and found the VERY firm sleep area to be quite comfortable. Dinner and breakfast (inclusive) were served like clock work, right on time. After breakfast guests broke off into groups for activities. Myself and four other guests met with a gentleman who was still in his robe but I'm unsure what that was all about. I mentioned to a staff member that I was ready to check out and he immediately started the paper work to retrieve my personal belongings and luggage. I will say this process was very time consuming but was happy to have all my stuff safe. Once I had signed for my luggage a staff member walked me to the door. He was very kind and said that he couldn't wait to see me next time. I offered a tip but apparently tipping is a no go here. AND no smoking.. win win. I will definitely stay here again when visiting Cincinnati for a Bengals game!

This place is not fit for anyone, no matter what crime they have committed. I've seen so many people that should've been in the hospital, or at least the medical ward for various conditions. They treat prisoners with less respect than I have for stray animals. Someone needs to do SOMETHING about this place.

This is a CRUEL place to be. Torture (with the food + noise + with-holding of certain meds) is the BEST Word that can be used to describe this place... I mean _seriously_: waiting 3-4 days for me to fall out and have a seizure just to show you that I take a "controlled" medication that prevents all that is not an improvement; as it's happened 3 times over the span of 6-7 days, and was documented 2 times by the staff, etc...

My dad is an inmate, but doing anything at all like dropping off belongings is a nightmare. Tried to speak with someone over the phone but it's just a series of automated prompts with no way to get to a live employee. I don't want to take time off of work just to be turned away if the items he needs are not allowed. Is hit debit card so he can procure bus fare to get home when he's released. No wonder I always see recently released inmates wondering around trying to bum bus fare.

This jail is one of the worst in several states that I have been in. Being dirty is just the beginning of it. Anyone who wantwants to clean their cell pretty much has to beg for a mop and broom. Every employee there either is to lazy, to dumb, or to busy trying to pick up on one of the inmates that I am real surprised that more people don't die or escape. Even something as simple as getting out after you have made bond seems to be to much of a task for them to handle. And to think millions of dollars are going somewhere there.

I wanna say first that i understand that jail isnt supposed to be a good time and that your supposed to get out and say ill never go back... But common sense will tell you that not everyone in there is guilty and some are just waiting on court dates because they couldnt bond out for whatever reason. So maybe they could clean it up so its not so nasty!

Dirty cops! I was arrested, without an investigation, for a crime I didn't commit. The supposed victim, a roommate who borrowed money to pay lawyers in his many criminal cases and didn't pay rent (owed me $4500), accused me of attacking him. He attacked me, right after saying he would kill me, and cut himself reaching for the hammer I took from him. Anyway, while I was in jail he stole all my credit cards and maxed them out. He also set fire to the apartment, destroying all my valuables. The black woman cop who took my keys at the jail either used them and my address to steal my cars, or gave them to someone who did. Other cops found them with the keys I gave her, that were not given back at my release. One of the corrections officers was a real psycho and harassed me constantly. When my ex girlfriend was in jail, 4 c.o.'s raped her, and broke her shoulder during the attack. They also didn't give her epilepsy medication, and she was delirious. What happened to her was in Butler County, and she is suing for millions. There are a lot of bad people working in jail.

It's the dumbest place ever I feel as though because you go in there the co and CEO of the work place treat you like sh** just because your in there and they have the upper hand it's not a fair environment there's been deaths there that could have been prevented if the staff cared but they don't ppl in there get the worst for serving somebody else's time even if the staff know they're just nasty a female there had a huge blood clot coming out of her bum the size of a balloon with the puddle of blood in the bottom of it and they wouldn't help and on top of that she was mental and they could have done a whole lot more than stick her in the running shower to bleed out she could have died but not under my hand so I ripped that and they still are running business this is f***** up if I could I would take that Industry to the ground and that's legally to the ground

I was very appalled at the attitude of the guards when I first entered the building.they was two guards inside visitors entrance.they was rude and absolutely no eye contact .none was at all helpful.I came with a friend to her visit and had no idea where we was going, I asked a gentleman where we needed to go and again no eye contact he didn't even stop he just pointed to the direction to head to. Metal detector not attended .it wasn't even on .now I volunteer in georgia and when anyone comes into building the guards are friendly but firm. a man at every station and attentive to the human beings coming to see their loved ones.i was very appalled with the conditions of this establishment it was beyond filthy.if the visiting area was discusting I couldn't believe what I was seeing, floors black and sticky seats had stuff spilled on them and sticky. Bathrooms had vomit on wall trash can and floors amd what looked like mold around the block walls where people sit to talk to their family.it is nhundredthot fit for an animal to live in .the pound is exceptionally cleaner than this facility. My heart breaks that if it is that disgusting and for law abiding tax payers that contribute to this facility for the inmates is inhumane to have to live in filth and have guards so rude.they are not guilty of a crime till proven so.I am ashamed of any law enforcement that would let this go on in any jail.you know some inmates are capable yo clean this whole facility after hours with a guard that's working nights evidently not doing much of nothing.sad tax payers money hard at work.and how about feed them inmates decent food! hundredths don't care you already found them guilty. They are still human .someone's son .brother father.husband.and its aweful to know children see this discussing place and it is very wrong.someone don't care about their job or the people nor the family and kids that come there.I cried when I left and did not know a soul there.
