Kinda far away from the city.

No shops opened they keep it clean and organized immigration officers probably peeling potatoes as there is no information flights:)
Halifax airport is well planned out and looks newly renovated everywhere.
Everything seemed to go a lot faster than at other airports these days. From rental car return though check in (they've got true self service including self service back drop) and security.
Everyone including security are super friendly. Almost unheard of at most other airports I've experienced in recent years.
There are plenty of shops and places to eat both air side and outside security.
An all around pleasant experience.
Really good airport. Services to all aver the world. All staffs are very friendly..
Margaritas and fish tacos at the Firkin Flyer are AMAZING
Upon parking at the Halifax International Airport, my wife noticed the unique dashboard of the red Fiat we parked beside. 35 minutes later, we returned and noticed our car had been damaged, with evidence that the Fiat was responsible given the red paint on our car and the fact that there was no longer any car in that spot.
All international airports in Canada this day and age have ample video surveillance, so I requested that the HIAA provide me with the licence plate of the red Fiat that exited the parkade between 11:00 and 11:35 am.
I experienced many delays in trying to speak to the right person, with many discrepancies in the information provided. Meanwhile, I reported the incident to Halifax Regional Police, but no action could be taken as the HIAA (admittedly) took too long to follow up and the footage was recorded over in the recording loop.
The HIAA has since posted park at own risk signs to absolve themselves from any future liability (this disclaimer was previously only on the ticket if you took one, not seen by those using their MacPass for payment).
Considering their refusal to assist with my reasonable request for information, this was my most disrespectful customer experience I've ever had! They stated privacy concerns prohibited them from disclosing information, but my inquiry wasn t even dealt with in a timely enough fashion to have a warrant or court order issued if I so wished. Given how many photos in public places are currently being posted online, one can hardly expect any appreciable level of privacy in any public area.
Before this incident, I often debated whether I would drive or take the Halifax Transit Airport-Fall River bus (route A320) to the airport. Considering the disrespect shown by the HIAA and that the bus is just as fast as driving and very affordable, I won t hesitate to take the bus for any future airport trips and would recommend you consider it as well!
Fantastic timing through customs with the new kiosks. Way to go Halifax!
Slow and terrible employee service makes this airport fall into the terrible category
Good airport. Not as good as other airports, but good airport.
Nice, simple, modern Airport! Service teams always seem to be engaged and caring. Nice work! Thanks... airports can be challenging.
Nice little airport but beware of bad transportation options to downtown which include your choice of a $65 cab fare or possibly 2-3 hour wait for shuttle service. I recommend chatting up a couple of your co-passengers on the flight in to see if you can find anyone interested in sharing a cab.
The ALT hotel at the airport is very stylish and well designed.
Great airport, very nice and friendly staff. Nice & clean facilities. Don t expect to see many shops at the duty free section. I suggest that you buy some snacks before making your way to the airport because it s extremely expensive to get some very cheap and unhealthy snacks!and there aren t any option to choose from. If you are arriving It s better to rent a car to go into the city as the cab is very expensive. Unless your are sharing with someone I wouldn t advise it
Despite some changes at the check-in counter, the staff is extremely friendly & generous! Great selection of stores as well, pre & post security clearance!
Very nice Airport.. shopping and food..small area for kids
As this is our home airport we travel from it frequently. Over the past 15 years it has been under constant renovations BUT the traveling experience has continually improved as a result. From a larger check in area, improved security features, to recent changes to the departures lounge, the Halifax airport punches above its weight class!!
Nice little airport. Everything is pretty manageable. The staff is friendly. The range of duty-free articles is limited. Prefer to shop on the way there ...
Had a very positive experience at the airport this morning. Felt safe, the other people waiting to board the same flight as us were all social distancing.
Great airport. Well designed. Sufficient food options. American immigration for direct to the US flights. Nice people working there and well maintained as a modern airport.
This is really a nice city to visit. Unfortunately a lot of Canadian visitors from United States and everything about the place. It's a small relatively clean sitting on a sunny day it is absolutely gorgeous going downtown. The people no not super nice welcoming enough when you need it to get directions or ask questions.
Clear marking for car rental entrance. Clean, well organized, very friendly staff. Perfect rating.
tip: If you are flying directly to the USA early in the morning with only carry-on luggage, you should get there well before the 5am opening of their immigration services (follow the USA flag signs), and line up to the left of the immigration entry way. The folks with checked-in luggage will be lined up to the right of the entry way with their luggage. You will go in first. There is no such thing as TSA-pre check, so everything (shoes, backpacks, carry-on, etc) goes into bins. Our boarding passes on our phones did not have the date showing so that was an issue, but after several tries at scanning, they let us through. If you have trouble registering your fingerprints with the Global Entry kiosk (press down very hard) you may get an X on your receipt over your picture, but after seeing an agent you should be able to pass through. This is Canada, so most people try to be helpful, eh?
It's a regional international airport that when operating at it's full function has very good restaurants and shops to service passengers.
East to manouver. Relaxed, not crowded or as hectic as some big Canadian airports. Easy car rental drop off. A great experience.
In my job selling #novascotia #realestate I deal with a lot of people who work at Halifax Stanfield International Airport and I just wanted to say what a wonderful job is being done by the staff and management. Our airport is world class and is one of #NovaScotia's shining stars and should be considered an example of what Nova Scotian's are capable of accomplishing. Makes me proud to walk through the terminal and be a #NovaScotian. Our company has dealt with many airport employees over the past 37 years and sincerely thank them for dealing with our little family business . I was stranded with no shuttle to Sydney because of COVID-19 ..and ground services helped my greatly ...still have to wait till Monday but I have my way home and it's because plp do like to help .... pretty cool
This airport is closed half the time and causing all kind of flight cancellation all over the place that just turns into disaster for consumer that pays the price in the end since airliner are not responsible for weather related event.. Thanks Halifax for not having a proper maintenance crew taking care of your runways.
What a fantastic airport. Many many shops. Friendly staff around every corner. Wide open spaces and easy to get around. It has a Starbucks below and after security. Very well organized. Well done to the airport authority. Many times you pay tax and don't see the improvement. That is not the case here.
My experience at the Halifax Stanfield International airport was quite good. I found it very easy to get around and was pleasantly surprised that it was not an enormous airport. My interactions with the airport as well as the airline staffs were positive; I found everyone friendly and helpful, more so that other airports I have visited around the world.
Ver nice staff, lots of open space so it doesn't feel claustrophobic like other airports.
recently moved to halifax and travel a lot for busines. This airport is wonderful, never too busy, always quick through security. Very clean and modern with really good selection of food especially considering the size. the wifi sucks though .... Like I tried to run a speed test to tell you how bad and the test failed
Awesome airport to fly into, the winds can get a little crazy at times.
Best airport in North America. Total easy access and assistance and processing. Love it!
The largest International Airport in Eastern Canada. It seems that every time I visit the airport, there are more changes. I love that it is easy to find things at the Airport. The check in area is more open at every visit. Most Airlines have self check in machines and few humans to talk to. As well, you have to weigh your luggage and put in on the belt yourself. Not particularly user friendly for seniors.
Security is always busy but that is a good thing. The food court, and shops, on the main floor, give a nice variety of food and last minute gifts for all ages. Sadly, the arrivals area has gone the way of other airports around the world and you can no longer greet loved ones until they have their luggage and come through a gate. I love Halifax Stanfield International Airport and only wish it can remain the easy to navigate small town airport, it has been and is!
Great airport, easy check in and security. Used to be very easy when they had nonstop dtw-yhz but the canada area is also very nice with lots of shops
Far from city, no uber or ride sharing, expensive cabs if you can get one, 15% sales tax, go elsewhere if you can.
I'm from Winnipeg & I liked the airport immensely. Friendly helpful staff & very well kept, super clean just like all of Halifax. Reasonably priced souvenirs, super cheap compared to most airports. Love everything about Halifax & plan on moving there. BY WINNIPEG !
I'm a terribly anxious flyer, and my girlfriend and I were running a couple minutes late. The amazing staff at the airport, particularly with WestJet, were kind enough to bump us to the front of the line as our airplane was boarding. The last time this happened to me was with air Canada. I was 3 minutes late to check in for my flight due to a major accident on the highway and they made me pay $250 to get on another plane...that left before the plane I had originally paid to fly on.
Thank you WestJet and halifax airport for the awesome service!
According to one of my friend: Beyond amazed with how exceptional the staff are here! I ve been here for 20 Minutes and have been greeted with so many friendly faces. I ve never have such a positive experience going through customs before. You are all wonderful and have created such a wonderful atmosphere that you should be proud of. Thank you you so much for being so amazing and making people s days a little brighter
Very impressive airport. The check-in process is totally automated. Very few airports have such a system.
What a lovely airport! The staff are friendly...even security (which is rare in my experience), the airport is clean and modern and they offer free feminine products in the bathroom. Good selection of places to eat and shop. I ve flown out of a lot of airports in Canada and this is by far one of the best! I am an Ontarian living in Alberta and have never been disappointed when I visit the Maritimes. Just a lovely and friendly part of the country :)
Clean, efficient and friendly airport. Great spot to pre-clear US customs as lines are short and the staff are reasonably friendly.
Good small airport. Navigating to the departure hall from the car rental building can be a bit tricky. Signage isn't all that clear and there aren't many store or food options passed the security point. But the free wifi is great and security is quick.
It was a ghost town at the airport. Park and Fly only had 3 cars in the parking lot. Normally it's full.
As an Easterner trapped out West I've gone through this airport many times; so many times that taking the escalator down to the baggage pickup is a nostalgic experience as people wait for loved ones to get off the plane and be greeted by the Halifax air. In all seriousness this is a well operated airport that the many times I've travelled through it I've never had an issue with the facility, staff or services. Thanks for making coming home so easy.
Ever wanted to work check-in at the airport? Fly from here and you can, check yourself in, do your own baggage tags and send them off down the belt all on your own. What happened to customer service rather than do it yourself?
Then security will check your boarding card, twice in the space of 20 feet, but if you set off the metal detector, you take your shoes off, walk back and through again and then put your shoes back on, errr shouldn't you check the shoes???
Arrival and immigration was excellent, but departure process was a joke.
I've been out for the worst experience in my life. This consisted of meeting a very man-made woman who was apparently employed in safety. I had bought a wedding gift for my son who had to get married 3 days after my flight. This gift was a globe with a wedding couple, and at the same time it was also a play box that played Mendelssohn's wedding march. The woman's man acted very roughly, and when I asked her to contact my family at the airport so they could pick it up, she became even more rude and threatening. She kept the gift, and when I was talking to my husband afterwards she came to us and threatened us with the police if we said more !! She then went to a room where her colleagues stayed - but she laughed and triumphantly kept my gift in the air. One would almost think she was missing a gift - or she wanted such a one. I have been a manager and if I had such a person employed, he or she had been immediately dismissed. Clearly, the security at Halifax airport can use all those who can not be used elsewhere. I have spoken with security checks at different airports and they did not understand the behavior as the water was in a completely closed circuit.
Clean, well laid out and the meal we had at the Firkine and Flyer was really good.
One of the best airports because if the staff and the available amenities
It is a pretty boring place to have to wait for your plane.
Very nice airport, clean and welcoming. You can shop in shops inside the airport. More than a terminal, a little neighborhood
Nice little airport and great and helpful staff. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the lack of transit options. I was surprised to find that Uber doesn't service this airport, which I depended lot on when I travel. Should implement Uber as a transit option. Otherwise if you don't drive, there is hardly any way you could leave or get to the airport except for a miserable transit bus that leaves every 45mins.
Nice small airport with friendly people, lots of seating and plenty of places to plug in. Couldn't figure out the free wifi tho.
This airport needs a proper transit system into Halifax.
The bus only takes exact change and there is no kiosk for purchasing tickets inside the airport. I came equipped with $3.25 in cash but needed another quarter to get on the bus. Went to the currency exchange with my Czech krona but they don t take coins. Went looking for a TD Bank atm but there are none. Paid the $3 fee at the rbc atm, got a few 20 s went to timmies to break my change buying a croissant. Ran over to the bus and missed it by 5 seconds. Driver didn t want to let me in. Good thing busses run every hour. Welcome to Halifax!
Renovations are looking nice, and cant wait to see the airport continue to grow with the growing population and more travelers because the airport will considered too small in the next decade for the amount of people coming and going and I feel during the busy times you see this. Hopefully itll be ok and that the airport keeps growing and expanding. It looks nice so far.
The free Wi-Fi is as slow as the one I got in 2002. Maybe even slower.
Pretty small international airport. Not a whole lot of food choice.
