Easy to get where you need to be. Lots of help available.
Easy to navigate, helpful staff
A lot of parking and easy to find, restaurants, different stores, transportation
Wowwww... everything superclean, good organization and very friendly ppl
Small, clear and friendly. The Tim Hortons Express gate switches are a great complement. Boarding and customs cleareance for flights can -> usa are possible! Super!!!
Unbelievably horrific experience. I waited for 4 hours to get my bag. 4. Hours. I have never seen a more furious bunch of people in my entire life. Thanks to this airport, it took me 36 hours to get home. I would have made it in 23 had I drove nonstop back my home in the States. Absolute disaster due to the staffing issues. I ll bet Ole Scotty was the only one working the baggage claim. Awful. Stay. AWAY.
I will never come through this airport EVER again, If I could give it 0 stars I would. I looked for help and every single person I tried to talk to was rude and ignorant. I had a 14 hour layover here. When I received my baggage from claim it was completely destroyed, and it was a brand new luggage bag that I received as a gift only a couple weeks prior. When I tried to get my bag checked in they told me it needs to be at least 5 hours before my flight, even though the westjet website says you can check in 24 hours prior. So I was forced to leave my bag in storage for the night. And then when I tried to go through security, because I wanted to go sit down at nice restaurant and order some actual food, they told me I couldn't walk through until 3am. Now I'm forced to eat greasy fast food because that's all they have outside of security. I would never reccomend this airport to anyone. One of the worse experiences I've ever had anywhere.
Fairly average. Not as clean as I would like, and the bus waiting area is pretty cold in the winter.
So bad! Flights never on time! Can t get customer service with anyone... so bad
I fly through YHZ a lot and 90% of the time I have a great experience. The other 10% of the time that its not that great is when the security line can become ridiculously long and slow. It's so variable though. Sometimes it's dead quiet and then suddenly a mad crush. One would think they would contemplate maybe adjusting the schedule a little. It really helps to have a Nexus card to get through security faster.
Bags arrive relatively fast, though I've had some exceptions to that rule before.
I'm really disappointed that American Airlines no longer flies here though :-(
If your going to crash, this is the airport to do it at.... just don't expect help anytime soon!
The Legends has best food. Fish tacos and fish chowder are best. Forget hamburgers or fries.
It has, always been a joy for me to come to this airport!
It was like a ghost town compared to the normal amount of people you'd usually see on a Wednesday at a international airport!
Nice and organized. Very small compared to other international airports. Mostly domestic flights.
i was "flown" away
i also like "The Minions" Movie
I fly in and out of this airport >15 times per year. Security ruins this airport. If a couple big planes are boarding security can only screen the Elite travellers as quickly as they arrive while the standard line goes nowhere. Expect to wait at least an hour in line.
Otherwise shops and food options are quite nice and is a lovely little airport.
Nice airport, quick though security with lots of seating. It could use a lot more plugs for charging electronics.
Clean and very efficient airport. Not too crowded and definitely very helpful staff.
Nice open well lit airport of a mid-size. Quick access from terminal to covered parking area
Nice airport , we fly from halifax to chicago via montreal......Air canada was on time.
The staff is helpful and friendly! Lots to see.food court shops srafood shop etc.
Great staff and a nursing room gets 5 stars from this mama! Thanks Halifax!
Good airport with atrocious wifi. I'm currently getting 0.07 mb/s.
Great as always. One COVID-19 benefit... lineups are short
In few words the airport great everything is nice and organized .. the 1 star for the immigration officers who work there ALL of them white red neck because im Muslim they was so much racist and stop me and and many idiot questions like them oh i forget to say i have Canadian passport
One of my favourite airports. Fast and efficient with a good layout. Friendly airport staff
Newer with everything that you need in a mid sized airport
Almost everything is wonderful with the exception of a couple things. The wifi is not very strong as I ve often had to log in several times, and once I am logged on it s very slow to check my email. A suggestion may be to have a similar set up like hotels or universities. These locations often have a free open wifi, but they also have a locked wifi in which only guests with a reservation can access a separate network; and, similarly students/administration/faculty on a campus can log in to a different network. The second item is international departures gate. The options for food are slim with picking between a restaurant or Tim Hortons (on the go). I think providing another two options for pax would be a great addition.
The airport is not the biggest but still offers a great selection of restaurants. The processing of the security check was quick and there were only a few waiting times. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The worst airport ever. Not only the security check takes ages, getting luggage upon arrival is extremely slow regardless the time of the day or weather conditions. Very dissatisfied.
Clean common areas, polite and helpful staff. I have taken a star away for the poor COVID procedures currently in use. There is constant reminders of social distancing, yet on arriving to the airport they corral customers in giant lines to leave as to check proof of self isolation. I understand the mandated constraints, but there should be more efficient pathways to safely exit the airport.
For a regional airport it is pretty decent. Keep in mind that COVID has dampened a lot of amenities.
Great experience, easy to get around and people are super friendly
Convenient small airport. I read reviews and it s unfortunate some put their bad experience on the fascilities. There are quite a few stores, restaurants and food options before and after security check. Security check was fast and easy. Pretty much standard procedure. The terminals are clean and there are plenty of charging outlets throughout the airport areas. Rental car and parking garage access is easy to find. It is quite a bit out of Halifax, so getting to Halifax without a car might be a bit time consuming.
As far as the airport itself goes I would give it a 1 star, not bad once your enter but once your through security it blows. They only place you can get anything to eat is a Tim Hortons that s understaffed and wine bars. Lack of shops and the ones that are there Woah 10$ for a bag of candy that s 1.99 at a conscience store.
The saving grace is the employees, incredibly nice. Shortest time I ve spent going through security ever. Wasn t profiled and the girls were even asking me about my tattoos.
Great airport, friendly staff and well organized, continuously improving means once in a while there may be minor delays but nothing major.
It's clean, everyone there is nice and helpful including the customs officials and security officers, there are a good number of shops, and it's not too busy most of the time.
Great customer service even at the security scanning. Slow pace yet fully equipped.
This is a Most gratest nicest Fanciest Airport the Best and the Prettist Airports in Nova Scotia as I ever known so this Airport is forgettion and more then what I emagin and it have a Blue Shaded Bathroom and a Places to watch The Air Plane come in
I was stuck here overnight due to weather. The staff was very accommodating, and even brought mats for everybody to sleep on. All the restaurants that could, and stores that could, stayed open late for people. I've always found this to be a great Airport, but my overnight experience on the wall unfortunate, was as good as they could make it. Thank you all airport staff.
I really like this airport. Very pleased with how they help kids flying and getting to their gate.
perfect airport. very clean and great staff. live lobster available which is unique.
Nice airport with decent amenities past security. A little lacking before security but the staff overall are friendly.
Wonderful friendly staff and great shopping within the airport.
The airport authority and security couldn't get me and my wife through security in less than two hours, and now I'm out $400.
The wifi here is so bad, but everything else is great
Good airport, nice staff and no long waits in checking. And a few business.
I unknowingly left my work iPad at security. A Stanfield employee (possibly named Brian) came and returned it to my gate! I honestly can t believe it. It doesn t have my name on it. So I don t know how they found out it was mine but that is just incredible and had to leave a review. I cannot imagine many airports (and I am not sure who also had a hand in this...security/Air Canada?) would ever do this! Thanks so much!!
I checked in with a mobile kiosk. I was unsure of where to go after that and asked the staff member that was sitting at the front where all the kiosks were. He was extremely unpleasant, and unhelpful. I felt like I was disturbing him for asking where I need to put my luggage. There can't be people like that working in that kind of position. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at an airport and I've traveled a lot.
When through security there are few options for young children to get food. Actually have to leave security of delayed and go to Burger King or something..... Then go back in through security.. Lots of places to get a beer though.
Nice airport, small as an international airport but the Canadian staff mostly are very nice as are most Canadians. A couple of good bars and reasonable food, very comfortable and nothing is too far to walk to, unlike Heathrow!!
This airport is the armpit of international Canadian airports (especially now that covid has everything closed). Highly recommend eating before going through security (international and domestic flights).
Amazing. The environment was clean. The parking was easy. The staff all dressed appropriately and masked for COVID-19 precautions.
Easy to navigate with enough food options. Wish the bus stop into the city was covered as it was raining when we were waiting.
People parking where they're not supposed to be, ie. Fire lane.
People not properly wearing their masks. Airports are covid-19 hot spots.
Food court sucks half the tables don't have chairs and people get frustrated moving chairs around pretty much playing musical chairs
Beautiful airport - easy to navigate through and friendly staff and volunteers to assist you throughout.
Decent airport but a ways out from downtown Halifax.
Very nice airport neat, clean and well organised fancy baggage system. A few pieces of weird artwork about worth hunting them down.
Nice, albeit small, airport. Nicely decorated and good restaurants. There are also good play opportunities for smaller children. In contrast to many other airports, it is quite quiet, so you definitely have the opportunity to relax before or after a flight. The prices of the shops there are completely reasonable.
Security clearance staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient.
big enough to serve your needs...small enough to care
We had a bit of an issue with our plan tickets, but the staff was unbelievably helpful to get us sorted out, and made sure to accommodate with our toddler. The airport itself is very nice. My daughter loved the plane statue that went around the world at the front entrance. Finding taxi/shuttle service was very clear and the entire airport was easy to navigate.
The staff at Air Canada Cargo are so friendly, helpful and accommodating. What a great team.
Had to wait for awhile as they couldn't get the walkway to line up with the plane
Easy enough place to get around but wish they had more choices for places to eat in the boarding area.
It's pretty small. Maritime Ale House has a good lobster roll which you can wash down with a sub-zero Molson. If you're in a hurry, you might want to try another restaurant.
Don't pick up post cards thinking there's a an easy way to mail them from the airport. I regret not picking up a Nova Scotia t-shirt at the low price of $10.
