Extremely disappointed. They came highly recommended but it was a bit of a hassle to apply online. no where along the way did they stop me and indicate potential road blocks for coverage. This is a 4x4 that I trying to cover so one would think it would be obvious to state in the application process that they do not cover for any off-road use. It isn't like I intend to treat it rough after a full restoration in the first place but to totally exclude an occasional beach or mud excursion seems pretty rigid. My bigger issue is the wasted time on both our parts that could have been avoided. They clearly dont want my money as I was being completely honest. Good luck to them.

If I could give no stars I would. I have never ever had such a hassle trying to get an auto insurance quote. First they tell me I can't insure the vehicle because I don't have an existing policy then they tell me I can't have insurance because I'm not the only one who drives the vehicle. You're customer service was awful I would not recommend this company to anyone.
These guys are the best, fast, friendly and probably some of the best Customer service reps in the whole business. Plus the rates are so good it will put a smile on your face!
I've tried dealing with this company twice and got a run-around for rejection twice. 1st off, their website is very glitchy and it took 5-6 tries process payment information via either credit card or checking account and kept getting error messages for no reason and then would finally go through after multiple tries. The first time i asked for a quote it was for two of my vehicles - I was told by the first underwriter (for which I had to interrupt a work meeting to call back after waiting days for a response) that I could not be covered because both vehicles would be parked in my (very long/private) driveway and both were financed. That's fine - why not an email for rejection, you pull me away from work to reject me as a customer? Why don't you state that garaging is a requirement when applying for a quote, or that financing is a "risk" in the initial questionnaire? I was told by that if the vehicles were garaged, that the policy could be finalized. I resubmitted for another quote for just one of my vehicles after deciding that would be the vehicle that I would store in my garage to satisfy the so-called "conditions" of their policy (I couldn't fit both). Guess what? Another rejection this morning! So I was either lied to by the 1st underwriter about garaging being an issue, or they changed their criteria in the last week. A complete waste of time and now they have my banking/credit card info for no reason, and definitely not comfortable with that. If you are trying to insure a Bentley, don't bother wasting your time.
When looking for insurance, whether it be for your classic car, boat, or even tractor, Hagerty has the service and customer relations you want. Even if you just want to talk about cars, everyone here is knowledgeable and friendly.

This location often has cars on display that are special. I've yet to do business with Hagerty but keep coming back to see the show. Last visit was Steve McQueen's Bullit mustang driven in the movie.
Hagerty has been great to deal with with insuring my classic cars. I have four classic cars and one classic motorcycle with them. They are easy to get quotes from and as long as your car/motorcycle meets their criteria. I am looking at getting all my cars covered with them. I have not had any issues with them. Do realize if you have a customized car or resto mod car. Hagerty may want it inspected to be sure the steering, brakes and suspension meets standards and specs.
Called early in the morning with the car and details. Waited all day to get info back. Everytime I called I was told I needed to be transferred to someone else and placed on hold.
At the end of the day trying to get insurance for a car I wanted to drive home, we re told they can t insure us because the car was financed. It took 12 hours to figure that out? VERY disappointed in the lack of knowledge of their products and customer service.
Amazing company. They go above and beyond for their employees, do amazing things for the community and have the second best net promoter score in the industry. What's not to like?
I don't know who I just talked to but y'all should really find out because she was the rudest lady I've ever spoke to about getting an insurance quote for a truck that I need insurance on them. I can see why y'all have 1.3 stars now
Filing a claim with Hagerty Insurance has been the most difficult and insufferable process I've ever had when filing a claim. There is never an adjuster available to speak with (or any other upper level management for that matter) and when you do finally get somebody on the phone, they are of no help. Claim Adjuster Hailey McGuire makes no effort to expedite the process, even after making promises to do so. It has been over three weeks since I filed my claim and I am still fighting tooth and nail to get things done. I paid the premium to overnight my title to ensure that my total loss would get processed and my rental extended before they all disappear for the weekend - and even though they promised to process it that Friday upon receipt, they pushed me off until next week. I asked Hailey since she made the promise to process it upon receipt, if she could at the very least extend my rental since the negligence was entirely on Hagerty, but she outright refused. My tracking information shows that my title was received and signed for at 10:20am that Friday morning, but no one felt the need to take care of it. Now I will have to return my rental this weekend while they are knowingly in possession of my original free and clear title - or pay the cost to have it longer according to Hailey. Hagerty has no integrity and abysmal customer service.
If I could give Hagerty zero stars if I could. What a horrible experience and A WASTE OF 5WEEKS OF MY TIME.
I found them by Googling for classic car insurance and they showed up on top, I should have known it was just cleaver marketing and all down hill from there.
I called in, quoted and placed a binder on my vehicle and went to look at it. I purchased the car and submitted my application with some minor changes to the vehicle descrptioin I was not aware of when viewing the car online (disc brakes, power steering & air ride). Turns out having AIR RIDE on your car makes it a LOWRIDER and I was told by a CS rep that 'those type of vehicles attract different crowds and create higher risk' --- Really? What is that suppose to mean?
Additionally do not check the box 'Pleasure' on the application, it means you are not that 'into the hobby' according to Hagerty, you are better of lying and saying you are in a club and will show the car beacuse their stats show those type of uses create less loss.
So I completed the app, submitted copies of my insurance for my personal vehicle, photos of the car I HEARD NOTHING BACK FOR DAYS. The binder expired and I reached out to them to see how my application was going to be told I was denied. IF I HAD NOT CALLED THEM I WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN I WAS DENIED. I RECEIVED NO CALLS TO EXPLAIN THE DENIAL.
So my car gets denied for being a 'Lowrider' so I dispute it, obviously becuase my car by no means displays traits of a 'Lowrider'. I use to read those magazines in High School and never seen a car even close to mine in any of the ones I read.
I push to have a more experienced underwriter to only be denied for my WIFE"s driving record (she wont even be driving the car!!!) .
Do yourself a favor and do not use HAGERTY. That is unless you are already a member of a club, show your car, its STOCK and your driving record is spot clean for 3-5yrs.
I have had Hagerty car insurance for over 8 years now. The prices are good/fair and the staff here has been helpful. I have not had to make a claim and I hope to never need to, which would be great.
Just as an intro I created a Yelp profile just for this review, now on to the important stuff:
It all began last week when I wanted to insure a new purchase of mine and decided to go online and fill out the questionnaire to be contacted by someone. It asked which way I would rather be contacted, either by phone or by email. Because I work the hours that they are open I elected to be contacted via email.
This is where it started to go downhill, because they started calling me while at work and I couldn't answer the phone. But no emails were sent to me. I called up a day later during my 30 minute lunch break, where I was immediately put on hold for an extended period of time and then put on hold again while waiting to speak with an underwriter. I was put in contact with Jake, and he was fantastic and a pleasure to talk and work with. After our 20 minute or so conversation everything was ironed out and taken care of. Well less than 2 minutes later I got another call which I ignored because I was back at work once again because of being on the phone for my entire lunch break and back to what I was doing. Ashley left a voicemail that I must call back even though I just spent all that time on the phone.
I call back the following day while on a short break to see what was the problem. I was put on hold again for an extended time, then when someone came back to the phone I was told that all the underwriters were too busy to talk to me and that my policy had been declined and that I would get something in the mail. But no explanation was given nor was I given a chance to speak with an underwriter which is extremely unprofessional.
I will NEVER use Hagerty Auto Insurance unless something is done to correct this current issue in a timely manner. I don't understand how your company says they support the hobby and want to help the car community. The only thing it has done for me is create stress and disappointment, if this isn't resolved I will voice my opinion to everyone I know in my community and to steer far away from Hagerty and to inform them about my recent experience.
This company really cares about you and your car. I have never worked with a company that give so much respect to the employees they hire or to their customers. I love Hagerty.
