Very nice place. Great drink menu. The whistleblower was very good. I had the ahi tuna dish and the tuna was one of the best tuna steaks I ve ever seen. I will definitely go back. Dee our server was super friendly and attentive. Nice job guys
Tried 3 types of oysters. All were perfectly shucked and cleaned. All of their oysters are from the East coast and taste great. The food was well prepared and served. Service was mostly good, except for refilling the water. Chocolate martini was well made though I may prefer slightly higher alcohol content.
The cool nautical / under water vibe, honoring the octopus is great. The bartender was wonderful. Must try the octopus appetizer and mama's meatball. You can taste the love she puts into it. Quality food. Classy, well balanced menu with more entrees I want to come back for.
Food was good, not great, and expensive. Service very slow and inattentive. I will give it one more chance as I have had very good meals there in the past. What was even more annoying and alarming though was that the waitress significantly overcharged us when she split the bill, and was basically unapologetic about it.
Went there about 3 times. Service was on point. Food was delicious and was not very expensive.
Great cocktails, decent food, weird "casual fancy" atmosphere
Upscale. Wide variety of cocktails. Large menu selection. Food was prepared with care and delicious!
Beautiful Private Room
Food was phenomenal.
Planning on doing events there again.
Seafood dinner par excellence.
We started with the Octopus and the Clam & Mussel appetizer, both dishes perfectly prepared. For our main courses we chose the Seabass & the Seafood Special, which included lobster, shrimps & scallops and paired it with a nice 2015 Sancerre. Taste, texture & temperature but also timing between courses were mastered to perfection. Couldn t ask for a better service, he was there when we needed him but never pushed on us. We felt very welcomed & considered this as the PERFECT dinner experience. H2Ocean sets the benchmark for (Seafood) restaurants.
Went here yesterday with my boyfriend to celebrate our four year anniversary and this place did not disappoint. It was our first time dining at this restaurant and they blew us away with their service, ambiance, and food.
If you a person like I am with many food allergies that are severe this is the place to go. I am gluten free and anyone who is gluten free knows the struggle of finding a good resultant that takes their gluten free diners seriously. The first thing I was asked when we where seated was "Are there any dieters ristrictions we should be swear of." Right off the bat I was impressed because I have been to many high class resurtants in NJ/NYC and NEVER been asked this before placing an order. Usually I have to specifically tell the waiter and even then I get dishes that come out wrong and I have to wait an extra 15 minutes plus to get the proper order.
We started with the lobster bisque soup and I really wish I could have just eaten that all night. They brought out bread to go with the soup (not gluten free) for my boyfriend. I completely understood that it wasn't likely for them to have gluten free bread, but then the waiter asked if I wanted gluten free crackers!
When the food arrived the dishes where beautiful and great sizes for the prices we paid for them. My boyfriend being a lover of all things sea food especially scallops ordered the day boat scallops with corn and bacon. The most PERFECTLY cooked scallops he has ever eaten.
I ordered the Wild Seafood Linguini
Day Boat scallops, wild Gulf shrimp, PEI mussels, manilla clams, chorizo, saffron lobster broth. This dish wasn't gluten free due to the pasta, but they offered gluten free pasta as an alternative.
All gluten free dishes where clearly labeled as such but our waiter Eric also mentioned if I was interested in a dish he'd see if it could be made gluten free for me.
He followed through with his offer completely and his determination for me to be able to enjoy my experience as seamlessly as possible was beyond appreciated.
The experience over all was above and beyond any other dinning experience I've had before. The staff went the extra mile to make sure the experience my boyfriend and I had was memorable and they ensured without a doubt in my mind that we'd be back. If you want a dining experience that will be memorable, delectable, and all around perfection go to this restaurant.
Seafood was fresh. Lunch portions are slightly small. Bread was really good. Service and time to receive food can be a bit slow.
Food is fantastic, always fresh! Chef Joe does an amazing job! GM James has his staff on point!
Best and most affordable seafood in NJ hands down! Staff and owners are the hardest working people in the industry!
Great Raw Bar, wonderful entrees and incredible dessert menu!
H2Ocean
The service excellent .Ambiance incredible. The food was top shelf. Sara gave me exactly what I requested for seating purposes the desserts where exquisite and a great Martini to top the night off we will return James and Malgorzata Cavuoto Booth 17
My niece picked this restaurant to dine at while visiting because she loved the menu. It doesn t look like much on the outside, but it s very nice on the inside. We ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and the meatballs for appetizers. The lobster Mac and cheese was DELICIOUS! We absolutely loved it, and it was the highlight of our dinner here! I highly recommend ordering it! The meatballs weren t good at all! What we thing ordering meatballs at an American seafood restaurant?! The sauce wasn t tasty, and neither were the meatballs. For entrees we ordered the tuna and the swordfish. My niece loved her tuna dish which came over coconut white rice. My swordfish dish was pretty good. For desserts we had a brownie cookie with graham cracker ice cream and the s mores. The brownie cookie was just ok. It would of been better if it was an actual brownie topped with ice cream or two chocolate chip cookies stuffed with ice cream. We kinda thought the brownie cookies were kinda weird. The s mores had a nice presentation, and we thought it was good. Overall, my niece loved the restaurant besides the meatballs! I thought it was good, but not excellent. If your looking for fresh seafood, and a nice selection to choose from this a great restaurant for you to dine at!
As always, a great meal.
I enjoyed the special halibut, special ricotta and the mint ice cream sandwich. Waiter was wonderful. GM runs an amazing restaurant.
Tables are a nice size. You don't feel squished.
Valet service on busy nights.
seafood is extraordinary fresh and chef approaches dishes in a whole new way. the Octopus was sensational and I didnt think I would like it
Food is ok, a bit pricey. Meatballs are really good.
Loved every appetizer, entrees, dessert and coffee. Lobster mac and cheese, meatballs, shrimp cocktail all great!
I was invited out on a business dinner. The food was amazing!!! It is on the pricey side. I had a pan seared Salmon with baby green salad.
My wife and I love eating here. Food quality is fantastic, and the service is always great. We have even planned our holiday parties here and have never been disappointed. The menu doesn t change much between visits, but we know that whatever we choose is perfectly prepared.
Top notch service and atmosphere. Revamped menu and a great wine list. This place books up quickly so I suggest reservations in advance.
Looking for great atmosphere, service, and food, this is the place. Mouth watering food and exquisite drinks served by warm friendly staff.
Always love coming here. The decor is fun and the food is always prepared well.
Food was amazing!!! Atmosphere was beautiful! Staff super nice!!! Can't wait to go back!!!!
Great fresh seafood! Will return for sure to try more specials. The Seared Wild Grouper was amazing!
Our favorite place for seafood in Morris County. The ambiance, cuisine & staff are excellent!
Very disappointed. Have been patronizing H2O in an effort to support them during the virus. Last night I felt intimidated by deliver person to give a 20% tip. 20% to walk the product to our car. WOW! Disappointed. Will not patronize again. Beware!
Amazing. Cants say enough about how good the food is.
Excellent seafood and service. I will go there again when I am back near morristown
Went here just the other week on a date. Shortly after arriving at the restaurant, we were seated at a table near the bar. There seemed to be a good turnout for a Thursday evening yet not too crowded that you would need to make a reservation to secure a table. Live music was tastefully performed by an acoustic guitarist. Not sure how frequently H2Ocean has someone come in and play, but I thought it was a nice touch. The music was mellow enough that it didn t feel overwhelming for conversation. I could have easily stayed and listened for a couple of hours.
H2Ocean menu offered an array of choices land to sea. We ordered the Frito Misto appetizer which is a mix of fried calamari, zucchini, and wild shrimp. The calamari was fried to perfection and the batter was light, not heavy. I ordered the Norweigan Salmon entree, served with butternut squash puree and a mix of veggies. The salmon was cooked to my preference; it came apart easily as I dug my fork in. The fall vegetables that they paired with the salmon complemented the main entree. The presentation of all of our food was artistically presented.
I never was here even tho my phone says i was... I always want to go here. It looks so so great !!
#1 sea food restaurant in the country,Amazing service,, great people. If you re in jersey must visit. Fresh fish never frozen.
I honestly enjoyed the food and customer service, excellent location very close to where I live. The employees are always helpful. I highly recommend this place.
Exelente food Lindsay is nice person, she is exelent nice service.
The best and freshest seafood around, you also won't find a better meatball anywhere else...no really.
This place is understaffed, feels crampy inside in a "customer doesn't matter" kind of way; as if they're interested in just money.
The food is ok, not awful, but not what it's suppose to be. The place is expenssive, with food not on par with the pricing.
Highly recommend!!! Hosted a birthday dinner for my husband and everything was on point -Food, service, ambiance and vibe ! Special shout-out to Sara and James for help in planning and making sure everything was fabulous! Thank you!
We we're so happy to find this place when looking for a nice, upscale dinner. There aren't that many restaurants that fit the bill in this area but H2Ocean passes with flying colors. Our fish has been overcooked a few times, but even considering that, everything we have tried has been delicious.
Octopus appetizer was great, Thai mussels were delicious.
$$$ went on July 3rd Lobster special, right away ran out of lobster tails only had one and a quarter pound lobsters. Service was off, halfway through our appetizer they brought the salads no room on the table for salads.
When cleaning up after the appetizer they took the salad forks nothing to eat the salad.
For one more $ go to la Capriccio's never off at Capriccio's.
Great for fresh fish. And wine.Too far for more visits.
upscale bar, the drinks were good and the snacks we ordered for our group were all good. Service was fine, all in all a nice place
Food is amazing, owners are so nice. Always so much fun, and a perfect experience!
Fantastic as always scallops , and halibut always what we have .
It was always good food. Seafood lobster tails was absolutely delicious. I love it, It was well seasoned and well done. Place was great as well and has a friendly and well mannered staff.
H2Ocean is amazing. We loved everything that we ordered. The crab soup so great. The grilled octopus so great. The red snapper and swordfish so great. The service friendly and fast. Oh yeah, the s'mores dessert is soooooo gooooood. I can easily recommend H2Ocean to everyone. Go and enjoy an Amazing seafood meal. Try the fries
I'll preface my review by stating that I'm a bit of a raw bar snob. The first thing I noticed upon arrival was the smell of the place. The unmistakable stink of old shellfish was embedded in the woodwork and noticable outside. Not a good first impression, but I managed to power through it. The oysters were decent and fairly well shucked. The octopus was surprisingly bland, not well cleaned, and tasted overwhelmingly of just char and smoke - disappointing. Baked Oyster dish was just "meh". Was hoping for some local steamed NJ clams, but no clams on the menu. Best dish by far was the meatballs, which were huge and delicious. However, I was really hoping this Seafood restaurant would wow me with, you know, seafood - not meatballs. Staff was very friendly and helpful, but I don't think I'll go out of my way to return.
Oyster happy hour! $1 oysters. Valet parking. $5 happy hour wine.
It was okay...Valets did not offer to park my car. Even though I had a reservation we had a horrible table which wasn't prepared when we arrived. The lobster bisque tasted oddly of cheddar cheese not at all what you would expect although the meatballs were good. The surf and turf was very tasty, however, the special of the day cod smelled so horrible I could not eat it. Linguini with crab and shrimp...The shrimp was very nice but the crab was a little loud. For dessert the pot de creme was delicious, as was the lime pie.
A nice atmosphere Rich food a good place to have a good time
Always a wonderful experience, beautiful lighting, attentive service, food is always special. I like H2Ocean so much that it keeps from trying other places...why would I?
First time at this fantastic spot!!! The food was extremely fresh, thoughtfully prepared and delicious. The staff was above and beyond accomodating. My mother in law, to her great frustration, must use a walker and is hesitant to go out. Here they helped us belly right up to the bar for pre dinner cocktails, and made her feel welcome and comfortable. For that there are not enough stars to give. From armoatphere, to food, will highly recommend again and again.
Excellent customer service. Wonderful food, pricey but worth it. I highly recommend it for excellent sea food.
Amazing food, drinks, and ambiance. Great for family, work, or date night.
Excellent ambiance, food and staff. I highly recommend.
Good food, but expensive. Friendly and knowledgeable waiters
Good food & desserts yum!! & Great Service
Beautiful ambiance
Multiple great meals the past few weeks. Fish and Chips and Lobster Bisque are both outstanding and honestly some of the best I ve had. My wife and children agree!
Husband and I went here for an anniversary dinner and every course we had was delicious and presented well. We started with oysters which were shucked really well. We also had the grilled octopus and PEI mussels which were both cooked perfectly. For dinner, I had the seafood bake and my Husband had the seared tuna. Again, both were cooked perfectly. I love that they use their Lobster Bisque as the base in the bake. Everything was so flavorful and filling. We ended the night with the Butter Cake and Pumpkin Gelato and the Mint Ice Cream Sandwich. The Butter Cake and Pumpkin was the perfect fall dessert and I'm salivating just thinking of it! The Ice Cream Sandwich was OK. The mint gelato was great but the cookie was a bit tough. Our waitress was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. She brought high energy and was really sweet. Great Service + Amazing Food = A new FAVORITE! Can't wait to go back for happy hour!
