Mission statement isn't true, they add to the problem of misplaced big cats.
Please pray that the animals are being taken care of.
My family spent a great day here yesterday. The staff was friendly . Our tour guy was awesome very knowledgeable and really loves the animals in this facility! I read reviews on here saying not family friendly . But my 4 year old will say different. If you like to get up close and personal to exotic animals. I would definitely give this place a try. We had a blast on the endangered tour.
I loved getting to play with a 6 week old tiger cub, holding a skunk, ferret, baby possum and was even able to have a very large boa constrictor around my neck! They're doing a great job with these animals!
Sad that these beautiful Exotic cats are caged in these enclosures. Supposedly they get to go over to the Arena. I did not see any of them go to the areana when i was there. Joe Exotic is running for govenor of of Oklahoma and he will be busy. He will not be able to spend time with these cats. And it is a shame...
The beautiful birds that they have in the cages by the tigers, Cockatoos I believe need enrichment..They need things to do inside of those cages . They need more than just a couple of branches.
I know the tigers in the wild are being driven to extinction and it is a sad thing to see happen.
I had expected a sprawling ranch. It is not anywhere close. I left feeling pretty depressed..
This was good place for kids. My kid enjoyed it a lot. The place stinks at some places inside. Restrooms are there but aren't Clean.
1 star less because the guy at the ticket counter was rude and didn't share correct information with us.
Very poor care for the animals. Water was dry. The the crocodiles and other animals we're laying in mud to keep cool cause there were no water. Besides that it was good
Best for Lions, Tigers, Ligers etc. Try to reach before 230 for animal shows and photos with cubs. Whole place stinks, well it's a zoo, what else can you expect? Great staff though. If you can't find a breed, they personally take you. Dare to visit the snakes enclosure.
Wouldn t wanna take my family anywhere else on a vacation than this amazing place! Thank you Joe and all of the workers for making my experience great!
You must do the tour, use Groupon. Best deal for a family of 4
Good family fun time during Happy s Memorial..animals seemed like they are kept in good care and as close to their natural environment as possible.
My experience was super good. As an animal lover I enjoyed playing and seeing different new species of lions and tigers. Lion Cubs are adorable.
my family and I saw first hand how much each animal is loved and cared for. We saw the tigers play and love on John Exotic. Great place to make some memories with your kids
Well worth doing the tour if you want to hold a tiger cub.
To the people who have only bad things to say: I would like to see you do better and i bet yall couldnt evan keep it open.......it is the way it is awesome and full of life. Animals are happy and loved. Great place period. So stop bitching and open your eyes.....way better then a city Zoo.
Really enjoyed this even though it was a long drive
The front desk guy has shown me some attitude
Apart from that the zoo is ok
Played with tiger cubs and other exotic animals. It was an amazing experience
Some people cannot stop. They say things that are untrue. It should not be permitted to allow people to post negative reviews simply because they are former employees. I'm sorry Joe, we should have spoke about him sooner. It's a great thing you are doing for these animals.
Please research before going to this facility. Very inhumane and irresponsible practices go on here. Many animals are inbred over and over and the young are then taken away from them. Once they get grown, many are disposed of as there is minimal use for them. The animals are mistreated severely. There have been many investigations that show this.
I recommend watching Tiger King on Netflix, it s literally all about this so called zoo.
Who would support anyone so deceitful? Disgraceful.
Absolutely amazing! So much to do that you can't get anywhere else. And so much information about these amazing animals
This place was terrible. First you walk in and it's sketchy and dirty. They are selling hard to get you on the tour and you can't take anything with you because if you take a picture you could be "arrested", per the signs. If you do the tour they sit everyone down and have you start watching music videos of " Exotic Joe" singing and you will see a monkey die and headless elephants all while your children are watching.
The gift shops has dust filled souvenirs, one bathroom that the toilet is not screwed down and the enclosures are far too small for these animals with no information about the animal but rather all about " Exotic Joe"
I would not encourage anyone to spend their money on this awful place.
We loved how close we were able to view these beautiful cats however, I didn't love the fact that the tour was way over crowded and my children did not get to interact with the baby tiger. We were able to pet a lizard, baby kangaroo, honey bear and a lemur. Most staff was very friendly and didn't swear too much!
Love this place. Amazing animals, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Wisj we could visit more often
Went here for me and my husband anniversary! Was well worth the trip... we did the exotic tour (not pictured) and was worth every penny! The pictures came out amazing and got them on a CD! Employees were really nice besides the lady in the front office and she was little on the rude side... but all the other employees really seemed to love the animals and enjoy their job!
We seen the signs on I35 on our way to Texas and decided to stop and have a look. My son had a blast, he got to pet a Snake. There are Lions, tigers, kangaroos, bears, etc... my kid and even us adults had lots of fun. Will recommend to stop.
We made a detour on a road trip because we drove by the place and I've always wanted to pet a baby Tiger. My boyfriend and I went in right before closing but everyone was extremely nice and we able to still pet the tiger. It was worth the price! We will be going back!
Bad, bad, bad.... this is not a good place for animals. Do NOT waste your time visiting this place. The animals looked sick & miserable! And seriously, what's with the continuous breeding of tigers and sticking them into small cages?? I'll never go back to this place. Yuk!!
Absolutely loved the experience! Costs get pricy bc you can't bring your own camera and have to buy pics of a cd. Photographers are great, but didn't take as many pictures of us as I would have liked, didn't help me either to be more photogenic either.
It was a whole new experience compared to other regular zoos. You can touch and play with animals. Staff is bit rude but I think to maintain such a huge crowd sometimes you need to be. Otherwise it is well maintained and worth a visit.
Very bad maintenance , business tricks , General admission ticket will not allow to see some animals , we need to buy full tour ticket . Don't waste time and money. Staff are very rude , not maintaing minimum relations . Not worth to see that place for whole day.
Great place for the family. This place is amazing. Staff is great. Thank You for all the hard work you guys have done.
Is a absolute must fo place for you and your family
Rats everywhere!!!!!! Owner is a and thief. You are complicit if you go here
My daughter loves animals and she had a blast playing with the baby lemmer and honey bear at the end of the tour.
Not a rescue, they breed and sell their animals, horrible living conditions, they have actually shot and killed their tigers (see pending charges)
Coming here was one of the worst experiences I ve had. The animals are kept in poor conditions, without proper access to water. And when alerted of the fact that the animals had no water, the staff working the front counter became defensive and walked away. They allow people to purchase iced animal cookies to feed the animals, which is clearly not healthy. Most of the animals were behaving as though they are starving, clawing outside of their cage for access to crumbs or gnawing at the cages. The exhibits are very small with hardly any equipment for the animals to play with. How this place hasn t been shut down is beyond me.
My family will not be coming here again and I recommend that if you care about animals, you don t bring your family, either.
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! This place was bigger than I expected. There are a LOT of tigers, a small number of lions and bears, and a variety of other animals; cockatoos, raccoons, crocodiles, lemurs, chimpanzees, and more. But mostly tigers. It's definitely a fun place to visit. We didn't do a tour, so I'm not sure how that is, but it was enjoyable just walking around on our own.
I loved it ! Families, couple or just by yourself this is fun for anyone and everyone. I got to pet and play with a six week old Tiger cub.
This is better than any zoo I have ever been to. You can get so close to the animals! Come early in the mornings to see the tigers eat. Ask at the gift shop about private sessions. We spent 20 minutes with a tiger cub and it was the best! Get a picture with Exotic Joe before you leave!
Let's just say there's got to be something to repeat offenses
Was there several years ago when joe was owner. He was a real entertainer. Tigers and animals appeared to be well taken care of. It was worth the stop.
This place is Permanently closed. It is being demolished and will no longer be open to the public. Please respect the new owners privacy and stay off the property.
Hate the way the person answers the phone and she's rude wouldn't tell my husband I was there having a panic attack. Had to call myself an ambulance other than that I love Joe Exotic
Animals are so adorable. But the staff is very unprofessional. Are not trained well on how to speak to the people. Specially the photographer lady, she was very ill mannered and took the worst photos. Almost all the pictures were blured. We saw pictures all over the internet with people holding the animals. But told us that holding the animals is not allowed. We did not pay all that money and traveled there to be treated poorly.
Please hire better staff so that people can enjoy and would want to recommend others.
Stopped here on a whim while driving from Texas to Kansas in June 2018. Entry fee was $20.00 per adult and $10.00 for the 3 year old that was with us along with a $2.00 fee for using a credit card. We found the park to be clean and the animals well taken care of. Yes, the cages are smaller than what you would find at a zoo you have to take into account that most of these animals were rescued and may have been rejected by zoos. There are treats you can buy in the gift shop to feed some of the animals (they have PVC tubes that lead into the cages so you are not throwing the treats at them). The staff was friendly and informative when we stopped a couple to ask questions. Some of the areas were closed off so we didn't get to see all they offered but for an additional fee of $50.00 for two people we did get private time to pet a 4 month old Ti-liger ( a mix of a tiger bred to a half tiger half lion mix) and take pictures. Overall it was a decent experience and we're glad we went.
Absolutely do not go there. They cross bred tigers for petting purposes and then orphan them out to rescue centers when they get to big. See recent Nat Geo article. Terrible profiter of wild animals.
Going to this place has become an anniversary tradition! Time spent with the tiger cubs is well worth it!
They advertise as a rescue but they have very bad facilities for the animals :( hope they get close down for the good of the animals.
Great park. Every single animal looks healthy and very lively. The reviews saying "these animals are being abused" and "the cages are to small" are nothing short of lives. Don't listen to people who act like they know everything about animals when in reality they have next to no experience owning exotic animals. The park is maintained very well. Awesome and very polite guest services. Staff is off the charts kind. Definitely a placed owned by people who love their job. Joe did run a good park. Jeff and his boyfriend have ruined it.
Closed and in google it says still open . In wiki the status is closed and it s right. Do. It waste your time going there.
This is NOT an accredited or legitimate zoological institution. The website states it is accredited by the "United States Zoological Association" which is not a legitimate zoological society. Only facilities accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, or the Zoological Association of America are legitimate accreditations for zoological institutions. No accredited zoological institutions would let you hold and pet tiger cubs or breed hybrid lion/tigers that would NEVER breed together in the wild, because one is on the continent of Asia and one is found in Africa. Breeding hybrids is not only dangerous for the people caring for them but it is the opposite of conservation of these endangered species. If you want to help endangered species, please do not give this place your hard earned money, no matter what they tell you.
Love this tiger farm, lots of tiger and even playtime with the tiger cub. Best time to go is before 11, or after 5 since tiger sleep most of the day. The tiger cub is the best experience
Great place. A lot of cats. Different tours to choose or just walk around on your own. We were able to pet a baby Liger.
Amazing experience . Specially the interaction with one laliger and two tiger cubs. Unique place
Animal cruelty at its very finest. While they praise themselves in conservation, they readily and regularly discard their cubs every few months when they become too big and thus, dangerous for your kids to take pictures with.
My husband and I went last summer. We loved the close encounters with exotic animals. The staff was very friendly. We loved the Tigers so much we sponsored a cage and was told we would get a photo of it with our name posted on it when the cage was completed. Nine months later I called because we never got our photo. I was told it's under new management and there was no cage with our name on it. The other guy took the money and ran. Turns out it's a scam, DO NOT DONATE!!!! So much for helping the animals....
The pizza tasted a little funky.
FREE JOE EXOTIC!
Small Zoo , but can see animals from close and pet small cubs and hold snake and other small animals. We took the endangered species tour.
Loved it...just a little more shade would have made it more enjoyable:)
I would give less than zero if possible. Our family left this place feeling uneasy!!!!The staff we encountered were unfriendly, not at all happy, or welcoming. Honestly, they made us uneasy. Safety protocols don't seem to be in place or perhaps they just don't have many. During our visit, a very large juvenile tiger was casually being "walked" through the park, on a dog leash???? No barrier, no fence, no safety equipment except for a 9mm handgun on the hip of some shady NOT "Jack Hanna" type animal ''handler", who snickered as he strolled by me and my kiddos ... "don't mind me, I'm just walkin my tiger". Within feet of me and my kids..on a leash. Can't make this stuff up folks! Could go on and on.
Please research before visiting. I highly recommend a thorough search regarding the previous and current information publicly available regarding this animal park current and previous ownership. Perhaps do some reading about the "cub petting" industry/business. I wish I had researched before we visited. Would have skipped it for sure.
This summer my friends and i visited the park and made a reservation to stay in the two bedroom cabin that sleeps 6 and has grill and picnic table outside. When we arrived at the park we were told that our cabin was not ready but it would be ready after the tour, we paid for the tour and our cabin at that time. After the tour we were told the cabin still was not ready but to come back in an hour. After returning later in the day we were told our 2 bedroom cabin was not available and we would instead be staying in a FEMA trailer #1. This trailer is basically a studio with had one bed, a couch and a chair. There were only 4 of us, 2 of us shared a full size bed, 1 person ending up slipping on a couch and 1 person ended up on the floor. The trailer did not have a grill so we could not cook the steaks we brought and ended up having burger king for dinner. We left at 7am in the morning since everyone was having trouble sleeping due to the lack of beds in the trailer. Later that day I called and complained. I said I thought we should get a partial refund since we did not get the cabin we paid for. After calling for over 2 weeks I did not get a refund or a return phone call.
The tours was also awful. Our tour had about 70 people. During the tour they take everyone to see an animal and in order to sell you a CD with photos on your way out every person's picture is taken with the animal so you see the animal then stand around 30 minutes while they take pictures. After 30 minutes you move on to the next animal. There are 4 animals with photos stops on the tour and the tour seems to drag on forever without you seeing much of anything. My final complaint is that the entire time we were there they were trying to get donations.
The cats were well taken care of the only prob was my wife is wheel chair bound and all thow most of the park had cement walkways slot didn't and we struggled
The tour is NOT child appropriate. The tour guide named Eric was foul mouthed and used profanity liberally throughout the tour. My teenage children raised their eyebrows at the language during the tour. The atmosphere is not kid friendly. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Things are not as they appear at this place. I actually felt sorry for the animals being caged up in small confinement areas. This is not somewhere we will visit again.
This place is pretty awesome! I've been to a few "zoo's" and this is not one of those. In a zoo, you are restricted about 40-50 feet from the tiger and lion areas. This place, you are about 5 feet from their area. I haven't seen a tiger up THAT close before. They are incredible! The way the staff interacts with the animals is amazing. You can see how much these animals are cared for. The photo is ACTUAL distance, no zoom.
BEAUTIFUL, BREATHTAKING, GORGEOUS, Something I have wanted to do my whole life is to be close up with the lions and tigers! It's an amazing what we seen there and how big the lions and tigers are living there with y'all! Just wished y'all had their names on their cages so that we can see which one is who, not to cause problems! My life long dream as been full filled with your beautiful Cat Exotic Animal Zoo! Thank You For Your Service To RESCUE Theses Beautiful Lions and Tigers and Ligers and The Other Animals Too! Mrs. Mary Johnson
The animals are kept in a miserable condition. They are not properly looked after. I think they sud be shut down. A big NO NO.
Perfect place to experience animals at a closer distance. Was a great experience feeding animals, especially tiger cubs.
I heard they are moving soon.
Call before u visit
I wouldn't even give this one star to be honest but to leave a review its required.
If you do love animals don't ever go here.
This, alongside many other zoo's is disgusting! To see so many beautiful animals being trapped in such small spaces is heartbreaking !
Its unbelievable to think people agree with what is going on here, these poor animals are clearly stressed and the fact they are stolen from their mothers shortly after being born to be hand raised is a disgrace, imagine how horrible that is for both mother and her newborn.
Breeding 150+ tigers and lions in captivity is NOT okay. saying they're trying to save the tigers after wild ones go extinct is ridiculous, a tiger born in captivity will NOT survive in the wild as he doesn't know how to act out there, he doesn't know how to hunt or hide.
And then dragging them around in cages to public places to have the public and even small children play with them and take photos with them is awful, they ARE NOT our toys; they are animals and deserve respect and to be given the life they are entitled to, not one led by humans.
I'm not even going to get started on the bears and other animals.
But the morals of this place have not been thought through at all, and I seriously hope people start realising that keeping wild and exotic animals in captive and/or as pets should be banned for both animal and human welfare before it goes too far.
Any animal kept captive is not a happy one and if you think they are then you sir/madam are a moron.
Good conditions and very knowledgeable! We go at least once a year!
