When we walked in it smelt like a bomb went off from the smell of smoke. Then the people where telling us to sign up with tour it is "amazing" they said. We went to the place and we were late we got in having to dodge the camera people when we got our spots joe exotic wouldn't shut up about himself then he finally brought out the tigers which were so fat I said they looked pregnant. When I zoned out of boredom the tiger sprayed me and my friend in pee twice. He said we should of seen that coming like I wanted it to happened. Next we went to the "exotic" mini horses then we didn't want the food with flies all over it and not wanting to kiss the camel he started yelling at us. Later he said that the camels ate their own poop eww there we're starving deer and all the animals were skinny or fat and there water was either empty or green. Then we finally got to he cool part we got to pet and hold cool animals then we lay on rocks and have a little tiger growling at us. We finally left the tour and had to pay 75$ to wait and get put in a room with a tiger just or group it was awesome that was only good part

Cool place, if this place didn't take the all big cats in they would all be dead, so it's a good thing places like this are here. I'm in no way affiliated with this place, but I agree with what they are doing. Support this place.

Unbelievable. I felt like a little kid running around in amazement. DEFINITELY do the tour where you can pet the baby animals.

Even without the tour, just walking around was amazing. I have never seen so many large and exotic animals and up so close. It's an amazing place where they save/rescue animals. They don't buy them and they can only survive based off donations. It's truly an inspiration.

The tour - so educational. Normally at a zoo or animal rescue place I certainly learn something. But never before did I walk around just learning at least 3 new things about every animal we saw.

The guides are so great. They're funny, friendly and easy to ask questions to. They're conscious of kids and adults and making sure everyone is safe while having fun.

Joe Exotic - we didn't really get to spend much time with him, but he seems to really know his stuff. He opened the place up in honor of his brother. The whole staff seems to love him and working there.

If you are in Oklahoma at all, you must go there!!!

My wife and I had the most amazing time today I can't thank yall enough for one of the best times my wife and I have ever had. all the animals where so happy and friendly especially the Canadian lynx Arapahoe (my favorite) I highly recommend everyone to stop by and see all the amazing animals here you will surely have a great experience. My wife and I will be back soon. Thank you all for what you do to provide this amazing zoo for everyone to come and see

We came out after we watched the documentary. It wasn't expensive to get in. They where not doing any animal meetings. I don't see how they fit so many animals there previously like the document art said they did.

Me and my girlfriend went here a couple days ago and we had a wonderful time. We got a lot of time to play with the baby tigers and all the animals looked well feed and healthy, some of the cages might have look small but if you buy the tour package and get to go to the back and see the rest of the Tigers you will notice that the cages get much bigger. Joe himself stopped us at the end of the tour and asked us what we thought and if we enjoyed the tour. Overall it was better than any zoo I have ever been to and I will definitely be going back

We had a quick stop on our way home from a long road trip. The animals looked great and we enjoyed playing with the baby tigers. The lady in the nursery with us was awesome and really educated us on the animals. It's refreshing to see how much she cares about the babies and their mama's!!!

When we got here I was VERY skeptical. The online pricing didn't match the pricing in store, the restrooms were out of order and it seemed small and not of the best quality. At first I found the small enclosures alarming and sad. There is no parking lot, you have to park on the street. I specifically came here to play with the tiger cubs, but it cost almost as much as the exotic tour, so we went all in and paid over $200 to get the most of our day here.

As soon as our tour began I immediately realized I was mistaken. The tour guide was VERY informative, the staff was all very helpful and friendly. You can tell the people who work here love these animals and care for them well. I had never been to a large cat rescue, and have only ever seen lions and tigers at the zoo. It was amazing to get within inches of the animals and to watch the handlers pet and feed them with ease. With the tour we were able to pet and hold many animals, you can also feed them. I learned so much and had a great time.

It was a little annoying we weren't told we couldn't take our own photos during the tour until after we paid over $200 for the tickets, but I understand why they don't want you to do that. The photos were $30 for a CD, which they burn in the office, which took a long time. They should find a more efficient way to do this.

Overall, our family really enjoyed it!

This place is incredible. It is not luxurious, but you get exposure up close to a number of wonderful animals. Worth the drive and worth the price. I paid extra for cub play time!! It was awesome! Go check it out!

Saved money through groupon. This is a 1 time experience. It's pretty neat but yes, too many animals living in poor conditions. Place is filthy. Closest ill ever be to a cat, but they need to worry about quality and not quantity. All those flowers make it look creepy.

I could not imagine someone NOT giving this 5 stars. We drove all the way up from Houston and I was worried that the park would not meet my expectations from reading mixed reviews. I called and spoke to someone to confirm what animals they had available for the interaction part the week before we drove up and it was everything he said. We got there early and explored the park - which was worth it alone - It was amazing to see how dedicated and friendly the staff was, we did the tour and it was AMAZING. I was very impressed with everything, I would give it 10 stars if possible. These people are passionate and it shows, I am glad I decided to do this. I personally think it should be on everyones bucket list.

I had a great time going around the park and learning some new things about the different animals. I also loved the fact that they let us interact with some animals. We got to pet the wolfs, kiss the camel, pet the miniature horses, and play with the baby tigers ( tiger cups). Goodles place to go with the family and friends.

The owner of the zoo Jeff Lowe will attack you with namecalling and harsh comments for not agreeing with him politically. Cool zoo when it used to mean something but the new owner just cares about making a buck it's not about Joe's brother anymore.

Nice place to visit. You can spend around 2 hours here & there are several animals here. Lion, tiger (including white) tiger cub, horse, etc.. but they have limited resource to maintain the park so not very clean & smelling. Actually it maintained by volunteers so we should appreciate that. Entry fee range from $30 (2 adults), $100 for 2 hrs tour. You petting animals too, there are tiger Cubs, kangaro

Before you go understand that by going you are doing to exotics the same as buying puppies from puppy mills---you continue the cycle of abuse and misery. I AM NOT a supporter of Peta or a member of any group, just a private citizen who did a little research and was shocked to see videos online of horrible abuse to the animals at this attraction. Please, do not support this Horror Show without checking the Global Federation of Anmal Sanctuaries.

I've never been this close to Lions, Tigers and Bears!!! Awesome Exotic Animal Park! They have a great collection of baby animals to meet and play with (leemurs, tigers, owl monkeys, etc). They have one of the largest Tigers in the world! We even got to pet Wolves! Come check it out, it's worth the drive!

Gonna give a detailed run down here for those wanting the real scoop on the GW Animal Park:

We purchased a Groupon. It was taken without issue. We went on a weekday (Friday at 2:30pm). The park was not over crowded, and tour was small and personal. If you want a smaller more personal tour I'd suggest picking a week day and not the weekend. The main guy who I assume owns the park (Joe Exotic) seems kinda like a weirdo to be frank. We we're worried about reports we found of foul language and joking from him since our toddlers were with us, so we also picked a weekday tour as to avoid this... colorful fellow. So we didn't see "Joe Exotic's" tiger show or get to hold multiple baby animals. What we did get though was a more personal tour and lots of one on one time with the baby Lelion and Liger. We purchased the expensive photo CD before hand. It does include pics from everyone in the group, but because our group was small we got a load of great pics of our family. The birds were a lot of fun for my kids too. We laughed a lot at them! I give it 3 stars just because I just didn't feel safe there - something just seemed off. Especially after hearing about the shooting. We won't be returning for this reason. Gotta trust my momma instincts!

Well worth the trip. First appearance was oh this place is small, but then it just kept surprising us with more exhibits. So many beautiful animals. This place rescues all the animals and gives them the medical attention they need.

Awesome place for very unique experiences. My kids got to pet and play with a 9 month old baby Bengal tiger cub, a baby kangaroo, a lemur, and an owl monkey. They also got to
interact with 2 wolves. We also held and took a picture with a baby boa constrictor. Overall, this was an excellent experience that you cannot get at any typical zoo. The zoo is small, but the animal interactions makes it completely worth the money spent!

Had such an amazing time. I would say to not bring your children. It's more of an adult atmosphere. But that was one of the best parts. Too many things like this are geared toward children. The exotic tour was great. I kissed a camel, pet wolves, held all kinds of baby animals like a lemur, kangaroo, and more. We also got to play with baby liger cubs. You have to check this place out! Truly amazing.

This was an absolutely amazing experience. I did the 'Royalty VIP' tour with Eric (a lead keeper) and it was worth every dollar spent (which is going to a good cause). The animals are gorgeous and well taken care of, it was the most personal experience i've had. The staff was amazing, everything about this park was incredible. Here they care about their animals and preservation. This is worth the visit!

Do not waste your money here!! These people do not treat the animals correctly. All the animals ever did was sleep and walk around in cramped spaces. The smell is HORRIBLE and the animals have to walk around in their own filth. We bought an ice cream and a fee of $2.00 is charged whenever you use a credit card. The lemur my daughter held was trembling from fear, and the staff was shoving the animals in people's faces, scaring away both the visitors and animals. The water in one of the tigers' cages looked artificial. The pictures on the website do not match what we experienced or what we saw. These people don't care about the animals, all they want is the money.

Very rude people at the reception..They even asked my friend to given another surname because his surname is long for them!!!His surname is just 5 letters long..The place is very dirty..Better avoid this place if you have kids..The tiger kids are the only one thing that helped us to ease our discomfort..

Awesome place!!!

Awesome place!!!
After coming back home still missing those two ltl cute cubs
Highly recommend this place.
Specially for kids...
Thanks to staff

Ok so I have never put a review on anything before but after seeing the bad reviews on hear I feel as though I need to. Based on previous reviews I was unsure of what to expect but I had an amazing experience. Anyone posting on here about abused animal or bad living conditions either went to a different place or has absolutely no knowledge of animal care. Also in regards to the front counter being understaffed people need to keep in mind that this is a non profit organization. They do what they can with the money and resources they have and I personally think they are doin a fantastic job. It is definitely worth the money and you get to pet and interact with numerous animals. Ignore the bad reviews because they don't know what they are talking about and are made up.

We had such a great time here! I was so amazed with how close we were able to get to so many beautiful animals. We did the tour, which I highly recommend. It lasted almost 2 full hours and our tour guide was a lot of fun and very informative. Some of the cats are in smaller enclosures than what you would see in a typical zoo but after hearing how the lead cat handler talked about these cats during our tour, I have absolutely NO doubt that these animals are loved and cared for far more than your typical zoo as well. It was amazing to see all of these enormous, beautiful cats come right over (after he called them each by their names) just to be loved on by him. Not to mention how incredible it was getting to sit and play with three tiger cubs, lemurs, and a baby kangeroo. We loved it and will definitely be going back again!

HORRIBLE experience, I will never return to this place nor will I ever tell anyone about it! Majority of the animals were in very small cages, sick looking, and anxiously pacing. Very trashy people running this place as well. I'm very shocked this crappy roadside show hasn't been shut down yet.

Horrible experience. Very unorganized. Animals were panting and dehydrated. They didn't have water either! Many outrageous racist remarks. He was using inappropriate languge in front of little kids like it was nothing, threatening people in many ways. I would NOT recommend because he also purposely skipped me and was shoving baby animals in front of people's faces, scaring the animals and the children. The animals only obeyed him because he tortures them. When we were petting the wolves, the fur was so matted that it looked as if they had never been groomed. It was very hot and everything was way overpriced! He let people kiss a camel. Then afterwards he told us that they had been eating poop, not caring about whatever sickness it could cause. Staff was also horrible! Everytime they visited someone they either rolled their eyes or murmured something dirty under their breaths. Not to mention how they were holding the poor animals. They took the helpless babies away from their parents. The babies were completely terrified from the reaching hands of both children and adults! They made us put our phones in a broken locker, only so they could sell their overpriced pictures. He made very bad songs about how he saw a tiger. Very stupid! The animals were kept in very small cages with no place to roam. The stench of everywhere was so bad that my whole group was gagging. The group I was in was so big! No one could see anything. Even though there was nothing good to see because the animals were very tired looking not having anywhere to go. We had no shade which made me very hot and overheated. Many people had to push and shove to get anywhere! The animals were walking around in their own filth with no grass only worn down floors. All benches were poorly put together with worn down wood and there were ants crawling everywhere. The owl he held was trying to get away when he quickly grasped it by its wing and talons. The animals are suffering trying to please other people. VERY outrageous! I would rate it negative 100 stars if I could. Try to avoid if possible. Very absurd quality!

OMG! This place needs help. The smell is horrible. You can smell urine waaaayyyy before you get there. Some of the animals are dirty and sad. If you really listen the animals, you can hear them crying out of mistreatment. The signs are old and some unledgible. They ask for memberships to adopt the animals to help with the upkeep and the food & keeping up the park but the way the park looks I'm afraid that the money that I and others would send but not be used to help at all.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Joe and his staff work night and day to take care of these animals. You can tell how well they take care of these animals and how loved they really are. Joe was super nice to us, came over shook our hands and told us thanks for coming by. Tigers are my favorite animal and the fact that I got to play with a baby tiger was AMAZING and life changing. The whole time we played with him the zoo keeper educated us on all kinds of facts that I didn't even know about Tigers, it was great! I have been here twice and plan on returning very soon. As far as the people who wrote bad reviews and voiced your opinion on the staff and park, I'd like to see you try to do their job just for one day, These guys work around the clock saving animals lives who people like you thought they could "take care" of animal like this and ended up almost killing or ruining the animals life. These guys have so much heart and fight a hard battle everyday just to get beat down by people who have no idea how much dedication and hard work it takes to run a sanctuary like theirs. So before you judge, open your eyes and see the fact that if it wasn't for Joe Exotic and others like him Tigers would be extinct. Thanks again Joe for doing what you do!!

Do not visit this park. They are cross breeding big cats with resulting health defects. They are uneducated, or just dont give a damn, with regard to their animals diets. To tame a big cat for human interaction they must take the cub from the mother at a very young age, this is cruel and dangerous for the cub.

DO NOT GO! Got there and the zoo seemed to be fine. Paid $112 to have a private encounter with tiger cubs. Our appointment was at 11:20 and did not even get to go in until 11:35. Before entering the nursery the door employee had a rude remark. Which we ignored..she brought us in after telling us their rules. We sat down and let the cubs walk around us and on us. The person I was with got yelled at because he was trying to take a photo of me and a baby tiger stared to bite his pants. We were trying to make small talk with the employee and she was being extremely rude while answering. I told the person I was with I felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave before our time was up. So we get up to leave and she radios and says "the two animal activists are coming up to the front." Like WHAT? We are two young adults who traveled hours to come to Oklahoma to see tiger cubs. We paid good money and it was a TERRIBLE experience. Not to mention two other employees made horrible explicit remarks while we were waking to our car. Which they then followed us to our car! DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT. I cannot believe this even happened. I am shocked. If I could give them negative stars I would.

Animals smell and appear dirty and sad. The experience is more painful than fun. Interesting to see the lion-tiger hybrids, which look healthier, probably because they re the money makers. The rest look like they re on borrowed time.

I have not been to many zoos like this one before and being able to interact with the animals was a unique experience. However, we signed up to get a tour around the place and our guide was very rude. She kept getting very defensive when we wanted to ask questions about animals and continuously kept giving us the phrase "like i just told you" in an annoyed manner if we didn't remmber every detail about animals we are not familer with. Also, we did not get to feed the big cats like we were told we would be able to. For the most part it isn't worth the price

This place was absolutely awful. The animals are kept in TINY cages. No room for them to run or climb. Nothing. They just lay down or pace around because there's literally nothing else for them to do. As soon as you walk into the gift shop/entrance, you are hit with the strong smell of cigarette's. I knew I wasn't going to be able to buy my daughter anything from there because it would smell like smoke. Once you enter the park, there's no map or anything. You have no idea where to go. Honestly, you won't want to go anywhere because it smells absolutely disgusting. To the point where I was gagging. My four year old daughter was also gagging and didn't even want to get near any of the cages because of the smell. The staff are not friendly. I have nothing good to say. It was going to cost $55 for myself, my mom and my daughter to pet a tiger cub for 6 minutes. We were at the park less than 15 minutes. Will never return and will make sure everyone who asks us know that this place is a joke. Go to Arbuckle Wilderness. MUCH more fun and worth the money. Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animals needs to be shut down.

It was really cool to pet the tiger and enjoy the convenience of being really close to such majestic lions and tigers . Enjoyed my time here with so many tigers to see up close. Staff were very helpful answering questions. Tour was very educational. Staff take pride in their animals. This is not a city zoo so be prepared to enjoy a wild habitat environment.

The animals were amazing, but... one bathroom without soap for 500+ people and one porta-potty. The tour started 30 min later than posted and was laced with colorful language, including expletives that my two preschoolers hadn't ever heard. Maybe on the tour the hidden bathrooms would have been revealed, but they spent the first 15 mins of the show with spewed hatred for peta and the humane society and the first 10 mins of the walking portion continuing the diatribe. We left after that... can only take so much redneck on a soapbox.
The animals, though, are truly a sight to behold. I looked into his hatred for pro- animal groups and saw why they go after GW, however, and will not provide anymore money for his profiteering cause. He's breeding ligers, then intentionally crossing them back with tigers. Why? He said his "zoo" was an animal rescue, but he's breeding them?

The 2 star rating was for our experience. It would be a 1 star rating if I took the political side into account. However, I must say that the big cats were, at times, mesmerizing. The size of the "taliger" was mind boggling. Glad I had the experience, but the whole situation needs an overhaul.

awesome

Went a few months back and went to this place the last year. I have mixed reviews on this place. Good sides to it is that it has large concentration of li0ns and tigers, and the ligers are cool and interesting, although very unnatural. They are very close and even will chuff, growl, or spray you. Get to interact with them as well. I did the cub interaction experience which was amazing but its quick so make the most of your time with the cubs. However the guy that works in the front office is rude, and a lot of the enclosures are too small for thses big cats. And they also crank out cubs like theres no tomorrow. Some of ths animals don't look healthy and e few cats look deformed. I'm not saying I wouldn't go back, because I probly will, but I wish they were more ethical the treatment of these animals. Its the worst place ive been to in terms of caring for their cats and other animals.
