My dear Uncle is in the ICU. We sat with him all day. Staff are professional and attentive to his needs. Came into his room often to make sure all is going well. Moniters and medical equipment look newer and up to date. Very clean.
I arrived by ambulance after a dreadful fall backward down a flight of stairs on the train. From the time I arrived, until I left two days later, I was cradled in love. Test after test, with each explained thoroughly. Constantly feeling safe and cared for. The gourmet menu was sure a plus. I even took it home to show my friends it was so amazing. God bless all the wonderful staff that made feel like they were caring for their own mother. Sincerely, Judith Braunfeld
One of the best hospitals I have ever seen. Everyone was very attentive and knew what they were doing. Made my stay a pleasant experience.
After years of being treated like a stereotype I thought I finally found a place that cared. WRONG ABOUT THAT!!! I was assulted for days by staff because an addict next to my room told them too. As I've just learned, they put addicts next to rooms to try and control substance abuse. So if they think there could even be a chance they do this. But what they didn't care about or I guess even think about, was that an addict will say and do anything to get that fix. They not only get paid cash, but free room and board and whatever meds they need. Apparently their aloud to play staff dress up so they can go humiliate and threaten and torture you because you're not one of them or don't know their codes. All of this just took place over the past week so stay tuned!
My children and I have a genetic syndrome Gunderson Lutheran has provided great service and care and always make sure my kids are welcomed with open arms!
The only reason I'm giving a 1 star because the physical therapy lady in Onalaska and the check in ladys/guys are super nice but the doctors are the worst. I was thinking I was just picking the wrong doctors till I have gone through 3 doctors and the 4th doctor is really nice but fake.. I went to mayo in rice lake and loved them, so I'm going to try to get into mayo down in LaCrosse.. Good luck to everyone that goes through Gundersen..
All the medical staff are extremely helpful and informative. They take the time to answer your questions and address any concerns you might have. The building is still pretty new and has a large open feel to it. The large building is well -mapped and easy to get from one department to another. They have a terrarium where you can go to relx and meditate. All in all the LaCrosse branch of Gunderson is an excellent place to go.
Fine in skill but horrible at being on time. I feel it is unreasonable to expect a patient to sit 1 hour past his/her scheduled appointment time before being seen.
One of the best hospitals that I know of. I would trust them with my life.
Long story It started three weeks ago.... To be continued
1star is the lowest rating I could give. Brought Mom in to the emergency Dept for possible stroke at her Doctor's advice but 3 1/2 hours later finally gets paged back This is Not acceptable! But they can be proud of their new building but they need to staff it before someone dies.
All three of my kids were born here. Without Gundersen Lutheran Hospitals great care I don't know if my youngest daughter would have been born. The doctors, nurses and especially the midwives are excellent.
Most providers are courteous. It is decent care. Some issues if you have Medicaid. Some providers can be nasty toward you but mostly the care is good.
I have a female cardiologist She getting my 2 heart text within 4 wks Awesime Dr follow up care No waiting for my arrival time I was in immediately 5stars rating
Good doctors and nurses, staff and take care of patients.
My mom recently had to go to the oncology department for chemo treatments. They were wonderful.
I am from Florida and currently have a family member in critical care unit 3rd floor. Every nurse I meet was kind and attentive. I only had one bad experience with an angry disrespectful employee on the phone. I prayed for her but I also believe she should be fired.
Conducted a series of tests at the sleep center over the course of several months and was dismissed like a dog at the end of it all having recieved zero help. This place sucked the life out of me and wasted precious time that I will never get back. my life has been utterly shattered by their contempt for my condition. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!
The best hospital they saved my life twice good place to go to
My wife gave birth at gundersen. We had an amazing experience. Midwives were phenomenal; supportive and explained everything thoroughly. I initially wanted her to have a doctor, but am happy my wife chose midwifery.
I've gone to the La Crosse gundersen clinic since birth, 35 years ago. Today, is my child's second day of labor. And while I don't feel any need to explain everyone's exhaustion, or my situation outside of this place, I will be filing a personal complaint against one nurse at minimum, most likely two. The first, at least was ok at hiding her own irrelevant opinions. However, once I was finally able to lay down, this morning, the ok incoming nurse, name unknown atm, long brown hair, snotty, ignorant attitude. Stood in our room, introducing us to another nurse presumably, and informed her that I was mom, who, pfft, always has something to say!!!! Hmm, wrong answer little girl!!! I actually never spoke to her or saw her. So, its clear the overnight nurse had a bit to say, although hmm I really didn't even speak to her either!!! But then...end of the day after more trials and set backs and STRESS, this nasty little thing, informed the oncoming nurse that again, oh and there's mom, with the sheet over her head! Well yes princess, not all of us got to sleep every day, and here the sun is out and how many ppl in n out all hours, and she literally did not speak one word to me, for someone who acts like they're so informed! I will be filing a thorough, official complaint. As my daughter was also very displeased and unimpressed with her abilities and cocky know it all attitude. This is the biggest day of our lives so far, and that nurse, and the previous, have no place in this professional, highly sensitive position. And I will be finally giving up on this hospital. Shame on you!!!
Was born here n been going here since I was so I've always been happy with being here n going here...
Professional, friendly staff, every time, time after time.
I was referred here from Mayo. I absolutely love it. They have more time and patience, and everything extra is free. Free valet, free parking, free medical records/imaging, coffee/tea/coco/cookies/etc... The longest I've had to wait for an appointment was specialty and took only 5 days. I*love*this*place
My ankle really started to hurt from being moved in odd positions. Lucky they got 3 stars even though it wasnt their fault.
It s a long story but they have a terrible neurology department. They refused to help me or think out of the box I needed to go elsewhere for a second opinion because they kept blaming anxiety just to find out I have a rare disease. They were condescending and uncaring
Great care, Urgent Care patched me up really quickly!
Very clean and quiet hospital and very nice nurses that work on the 5th floor. And good food.
Don't have emergency surgery setup so that parents can stay as an exception for covid. Looked on as a pariah. Only one parent allowed as if the other doesn't matter or won't make a difference in the care. Still asking if students can be in the room but restricting visitors? What the heck to that. Didn't offer a bed or hotel stay or anything. I live about 2 hours away so traveling back and forth is nearly impossible. Informed about policies after I had already left. Amazing work here. LoL.
My daughter was born at laCrosseLutheran hospital in 1947 my doctor was Dr. Gundersen (forgot his first name) but he. Was older then, so I m sure he passed away long ago He was a very good family doctor for us.
Our adult son was in a cycling accident during an event out of Lacrosse. We headed to Gundersen to have his arm evaluated. We were in and out in less than 90 min with a sling and xrays in hand to take to orthopedic back home in OH. They were very efficient and caring.
