The restaurant is great, a little overpriced, but the food is good. They also have what they call Gueros outdoor garden which is great..they have live music and free chips and salsa, and they also serve Margarita's and have cold beer, all under the shade of two big oak trees... very cool

Wow is this place great. On vacation and stopped in for the famous mojito and burrito. Great service and great food. Make sure you get to go to the salsa bar and get a mixture of salsa.
went on saturday 29th. ordered caldo de pollo en enchiladas. my wife and mother in law pork and beef taco . we all got extremely sick. vomited all night long. something was definitely spolied yesterday.
Exactly what I wanted. Some reviews were bogus, "too boozy of drinks"..."gimmicky". C'mon! This place has it goin' with good food, good price, and good service. Boozy drinks are a good thing! That doesn't happen often. Not sure why it was below a 4 when I reviewed.
Guero's has good food but I'm not sure if the hype is because of the location. I didn't find anything extraordinary about the food. Nothing stood out to me from any other tex-mex joint in town. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the place, but there are better Mexican restaurants around.
Awesome food with plenty of gluten free & vegan options in a historic building with lots of ambiance. The servers know the menu & free two-hour parking with validation.
They bring you chips with three kinds of salsas (the pico de gallo is the best, though!).
I have been coming here for ever. My favorite dish: the beef alambres. Get a salad and try the three dressings on the side; they are all delicious and tasty!
Loved everything about this place. Salsa, the food, the drinks. What I loved the most though? The pout outdoor patio with the classic cantina tables. It was hot that day, but it was so nice to see it.
One of my favorite Mexican places anywhere in Texas. Neat little place that's one of the last holdouts of Old Austin, as corporate SoCo takes over the rest of the neighborhood
Clean food. Not overly salty and overly cheesey. The chicken is fantastic, salad was a true salad. Not iceberg saddness. Staff is very accommodating and quick. The tortilla's are fresh made. The environment is great. Their cilantro dressing is what I want to make when at the farmers market. The food has a perfect hint of everything. If you want more or less they accommodate. The staff went out of their way to answer questions of local shopping. Went 2x less than 24 hrs. Drinks are great also. Had the Tito rini. Yummy.
Tex-mex joint with a nice vibe, decent margaritas and good food (also vegetarian-friendly). The restaurant is large with ample seating, so wait times during peak hours is not very long (< 30 min). They have outdoor seating on the sidewalk which faces South Congress, so there's a lot of foot traffic but that adds to the experience. They also have a bar area with limited first-come, first-serve seating.
Food tasted old or like it had been frozen. Service wasn't it's best and one server was straight up rude when asked for chips. We weren't in her section but there was no need for rudeness.
A little too loud for having a real conversation but, the atmosphere is wonderful. The food is great. We were a large group and the server did an amazing job. I am looking forward to experiencing their music space. They also have a very nice selection of local beers.
Sorry, didn't like it. From San antonio and the tamales didn't do it for me. Big but tasteless. Seems a bit like they are trying to be a Mexican restaurant instead of being one if you know what I mean
Very nice place for Tex-Mex! I had the brisket tacos which were done very well! Perfect size, perfect preparation, and nice salsa too! The rice as well as the beans tasted great. Waitress was kind
Been a patron for 10 years however today I was approached by a drunk.....Karen. Yelling obscene statements at my wife with no mask on. How rude.. The only people their that get 5 stars are the ones making tacos.
VERY GREAT ATMOSPHERE!! MY FIRST TIME BRINGING MY TEENAGE KIDS AND THEY ENJOYED THEMSELVES!! AS WELL AS MYSELF AND MY WIFE! WILL BE COMING BK FOR SURE..
The live music area is a good place to hang out and drink a few beers or mixed drinks. There was no cover charge but then again anyone could see, hear and dance outside the perimeter.
Excellent Mexican restaurant in Austin. Super traditional, very good service, super good food, beautiful place. Really very good experience to eat there. Additional in the middle of a number of places of great diversity. I highly recommend it. If you like Mexican food this is the place for you.
I had high hopes for Guero's after all the high praise I had read in reviews. Unfortunately the experience was disappointing and came no where close to living up to the expectation.
Now I will preface this by saying we went during the Formula 1 weekend, so they may have been busier than normal and not been able to deal as well, but for a place as big as they are, I thought they would be able to cope better.
The main problematic area was the service. Our waiter was abrupt and slightly standoff-ish. He also disappeared for long times during which we didn't see him at all. Hunting him down at the end for the bill was harder than doing so in a restaurant in France. Our food also took ages to come even though we had simple tacos. Our drinks were also very slow and partially melted by the time we got them.
The food was not bad, but nothing to rave about either. Our tacos were fairly dry and the chicken was not very flavorful. We had definitely had much better tacos in Austin.
Food was great, there was no wait, but it took a bit of time for the service staff to "warm up" to us. Hadn't eaten there before, so had a question about a food item and they made it seem like it was a chore to answer questions. Maybe it was shift change? After we ordered and added in a round of margaritas, things got progressively better. Overall good experience.
Lame ass salsa, lame ass tacos, and lame ass hipsters from wall to wall. The cardinal sin to top them all: lame ass margaritas!!! Avoid at all costs!!!
If you're in Austin for some of that Mexican food you need to make this place one of your stops. Everything is decently priced and decor inside is on point!
