Volunteers at the top despite the situation .... to visit absolutely
Very beautiful site and very instructive. The setting is pleasant.
To see for the evolution of the work bravo to the volunteers
First visit to this castle which is under construction since 2003. Only downside, the wait for the meal, 1 hour! One person to serve while there were many people. A second person would not have been superfluous.
Super interesting a dive in the Middle Ages, in some workshops children are involved.
The catch is the restoration too many people and thread of expectations I gave up.
Interesting place to visit! The workshops are good.
What work !!! long live the TRADITIONAL construction and the intact traditions of the old craftsmen perfectly taken up by the current craftsmen present on the site ... well done ... you are good ... (I am a former construction manager) (advised to all future engineers of Btp ....)
Super a lot of variety the castle has changed well since I was 10 years old and I'm 29 years old today it's my Son who saw the donation continues
Great! Total immersion in the Middle Ages! Crafts of the time!
Large parking lot for camper van, no waiting to enter when you have the tickets.
Superb place, a titanic medieval construction site, where the trades show you how they worked in the Middle Ages. An architecture inspired by several castles in the department.
However, you can eat in one of the two restaurants in the park. The prices are quite high compared to the quality of the food. It might be good to have a restaurant with typical medieval recipes. Otherwise beautiful site and see you very soon I would stay there again. Wearing of the obligatory mask of the world on the site ...
A place to see and review over time a castle that rises from the ground the craftsmen available and very educational a day out of time who have passed too quickly a lot of points of restoration for all budgets
Great experience, too bad that with the covid some activated is not available, like a mini show, the baker etc.
To visit
Very beautiful castle rebuilding with tools is craftsman of the time already three years ago the castle has already evolve and impatient to see it finish but also a sublime castle to see and come back some years later to see changes
Construction of a medieval Filipino-style castle (ie with everything in each corner). There is also a water mill (500 m next to the castle) and animals (donkey, chickens, Asian pig, peacock, horses which treat carriages). End expected for 2030.
A place to discover for the irreducible castles of the Middle Ages.
A superb place where we go back in time .. we attend the construction of the castle with the methods of formerly .. the builders take time to explain everything to us .. we spend really good time ..
In my opinion a must see, if you are interested in the middle ages.
A unique place in Europe, starting from the idea of the owner of the castle of Saint Fargeau in 1997 ...
Build a castle using the techniques that were supposed to be used in the Middle Ages.
This is experimental archeology but beware the working conditions are those of today and it is not about amateur work or illuminated. All this is very serious but gives the appearance of simplicity and ease.
Adjacent to the castle site, a kind of ecomusee allows everyone to discover the trades and techniques implemented on the site thanks to the explanations of volunteers and professionals on site.
The welcome is warm, the children are delighted and adore (the teenagers too ... si! Si! It is possible!)
To do absolutely before the end of the construction site in 2025.
No doubt projects after this date but it will return.
A Sunday as we like them! With children or without, a nice place to visit. Volunteers open to discussion about their passions. A castle, a mill, small houses to visit and discover. Remember to put on boots;)
It seems to go back to the Middle Ages. I highly recommend it
About 5 years ago there have been huge progress. You should have seen it
A superb afternoon pleasant guided tour very complete
Went six years ago, congratulations to all those people who work for this site. A must see.
Beautiful place, welcoming and smiling staff, despite the heat and the Covid restrictions, I highly recommend! To do again! :)
Awesome. Very interesting guide that provides access to basic knowledge on the construction of castles and the techniques used.
All workshops are held by lovely people who like to share their experience.
Simply magical, arrived at 10:30 am and dispatched at 4:00 pm. We had a day full of discoveries, the people are very nice and answer questions with a smile. Go there, you will not be disappointed.
This was our second visit since 10+ years. A lot has changed, unfortunately the wooden Celtic fortress is no more, but the site has has expanded in so many ways. I must recommend this site to anyone who is even remotely interested into medieval times. Especially if you have children. The site is filled with workshops and artisans at work. If you take your time you can spend all day here, but you can see everything in a relaxing manner in half a day too.
I recommend for those who love building and middle age
A must visit if you like the history of castles and old stones.
80% shade
Access to people with reduced mobility in wheelchairs (difficult to drive but possible) but to visit the castle it is impossible.
For meals at a reasonable price, salad of the day, excellent charcuterie board and reasonably well-garnished companions for two adults and two teenagers.
Entrance tickets + lunch less than 100 for four
To do despite a high price for the entry of children.
Ditto for the meal mini-sandwich for mega price ..... It spoils a little the day that comes back dearly.
For an immersion in the past. Well received with the sanitary period. You have to live it and the children are happy.
Unique experience where we discover the life of the Middle Ages through the construction of a castle!
Great, do not miss it. Passionate and exciting people.
Most interesting. Labour demonstrations all days, even on a Sunday. I would have given it a 5 star rate but there is too many people!
Castle under construction with local resources and the workforce of the time. Zoom on the old crafts and construction.
Do not miss the spectacle which is worth the detour!
To visit on several since the works continue non stop
A superb medieval construction project, a top-notch achievement with the techniques and tools of the Middle Ages. Young and old amazed. Unique in the world. A must see when passing through Burgundy to St Sauveur St Fargeau en Puisage.
Frankly disappointed ... the entrance fees are excessive for what it is especially that the workshops are unfortunately non-existent. No real animation. We quickly go around. Frankly from the reviews I was expecting something extraordinary ...
Have a very good day on the site. Craftsmen are available to interact with visitors. Unique and remarkable construction project
Crazy and magical experience. Impressive team at work. We can even talk to a lot of people to explain what they are doing
Back after 15 years
The evolution is obviously impressive and it is a castle to see
However in 15 years it has also lost a lot of authenticity and won commercial unfortunately and quite expensive elsewhere
Pity
This place is M E R A V I G L I O S O! ! !
A construction site for building a medieval castle. With medieval techniques!
It is possible to visit the building site, the shops of the various artisans (stonemasons, rope-makers, dyers, carpenters) and the rooms of the castle. Furthermore you can visit the sites where the materials are found (wood, stone) or animals are bred. The workers live there and 2020 is expected to be completed.
It is a fantastic experience, a place out of time, wonderful. Every step is a surprise, I was astonished from beginning to end.
Great place to visit with family guides explain very well and simpa to see absolutely
Entry price quite expensive, 14 / adult, can do better ....
Then closing at 6 p.m. ...
A magnificent dive into the past. Very informative!
Amazing work that is a reflection of a building of yesteryear.
Bravo
Very friendly and interesting. With the guide we learn a lot of things.
We went with a 6 year old. He liked it very much.
The craftsmen are very available for explanations.
Fast food is good quality and well organized. Genuine interest in children and adults.
Unmissable, a unique experience. All the craftsmen who take part in this adventure are available to explain their approach.
Magnificent castle, however all the ancillary activities are paying and the craftsmen not very welcoming ... It's a shame
Nice visit but absolutely not suitable for strollers (pebbles and sand). The experience with signage was rather poor ... the picnic pick-up points are not visible enough (1 hour waiting for nothing). On the other hand the animations are great, very good general atmosphere.
Fantastic place, but definitely bring a picnic, the food is extremely undemanding!
Superb. A must see. Very friendly and passionate staff
Site very interesting to understand the construction of a medieval fortress. To visit over several years to follow the evolution of the site.
To visit at least once, to realize the work done by the volunteers. Activities for children on the theme of the castle.
Very beautiful place to see imperatively very rewarding
Very beautiful site, a titanic building site and very involved workers
It's a great place to rediscover how we work, between simplicity and excellence
Worth seeing. Medieval construction technique authentically applied.
Very well, young and old alike learn a lot about life and the techniques of the time. Cell phones not working there we plunge into another world.
We spent the day with guided tours made by enthusiasts who know how to share their passions. This trip in time is very informative. Remarkable work to see absolutely very informative I recommend
Very interesting didactic visit. The paradox is that while you are shown the building past and traditions through practice, this place has no history.
Magical place, the people who build it, make everything with their own hands, exercise a passion in their profession, they explain to us at each workshop ... a castle that will have great merit when it is completed as well as its team
Very expensive for a Sunday not to have all the activities represented. We couldn't even have a drink because the refreshments were overrun with wasps.
A must see, extraordinary, to better understand the design and construction of castles.
