The restaurant was not able to accommodate a veget...

The restaurant was not able to accommodate a vegetarian diner for New Years eve, and charged the full price, despite our announcement ahead of time. They offered sides for the same $260 price as a regular diner. Most places will whip something else up, especially with three weeks advance notice, but not the GMG.

We called the restaurant twice (maybe 3 times) afterwards to chat with a manager or someone, and were told they would call back - nobody ever called us back. What a disappointing experience.

The food was a separate issue from the rest of the night. Our waitress had no idea we had a vegetarian diner, she was back and forth to the kitchen multiple times, but wasn't really offering anything but the same sides on the menu. The "live music" lasted only for a small part of our seating (2nd seating which we were charged a premium for), and alcohol which was not served after 10pm (of which we were not advised in advance by the restaurant, neither when making reservations, nor afterwards any time prior to our arrival). Yes I understand this is colorado or local law, however, it's nice to inform people, Hi Yes you booked the second seating, with a champagne toast at midnight, yes sorry toast will be at 10pm, and we can't serve alcohol after 9:59pm.

The second seating was rushed, and shortly after midnight we were asked to leave, both our party and the one other party sitting next to us (who's fiance had just proposed - maybe celebrate them a bit, don't usher them out the door?)

Why we were charged more than the first seating is bizarre, since they got a full live music performance, and were not expecting to be there until you know, New Year's Eve. We got the second seating (among other things) for the midnight toast, which also, without any prior advisement was moved to 10pm and quickly wrapped up.

Rest of the food was okay. Nothing to write home about (not being spiteful here, just honest). The steak was served with overcooked potato gratin-like things. They were dry and flakey, probably prepared long in advance.

(Review courtesy of my wife)

Thanks to Yelp, my husband and I came here during a recent trip to Beaver Creek and I am so glad we did! We both got the 3-course prix fixe for $45.

Let's start with my husband's dinner:
Citrus Glazed Lamb Ribs - he loved them. Apparently, they were sweet, with a little kick, without masking the natural lamb flavor of the ribs. The only thing was that they were a little messy, but it's not like he needs to impress anyone anymore.

Wagyu Beef New York Steak - This was good, but not as good as he was expecting. I had a small bite and thought it was very tender.

Double Chocolate Macadamia Crunch Bar - At this point, my husband was so full he could only have a couple bites. He did say it was amazing though.

Now on to my dinner: =)
Lobster Mascarpone - absolutely divine. Huge tender chunks of lobster sandwiched between layers of fried gyoza skins. Not a fan of fried food, so I simply took those out, but the lobster is truly amazing.

Pretzel Crusted Pork Chops - Now seeing as how it clearly says "pork chops", I shouldn't have been surprised when my plate came out with TWO... but, I still was. They were both huge pieces though and I ended up not being able to finish. The mashed potatoes, although an ordinary concept, were so creamy and delicious. The mustard and balsamic glaze they had went perfectly with the pork chops as well. The only thing is that the pretzel pieces could have been a little smaller. It was hard to cut through the pork chop with huge pieces of pretzel all over it, but it was still wonderful.

Warn Rhubarb Crumb Cake - this is comfort food at its finest. I have always loved strawberry rhubarb anything, and so was very excited to see this on the menu. It did not disappoint, and even though I was full from the pork chops already, I scarfed this whole thing down.

Service here was also fantastic. Attentive and friendly staff.

Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience.

Great date night experience. Highly recommend. Traditional feeling spot with the old piano player but the menu did not disappoint nor did the service. Duffy our server was awesome and you can tell he s been doing this for years. Loved every dish especially their famous Porkchop, octopus and tuna crudo. The homemade mint Chip ice cream was like no other.

Great Spring Chef's Offer: 3 gourmet course dinner for $39 This is a really a High-End gourmet restaurant. The food couldn't be better and the service is completely professional but still friendly and the off-season prices are a steal.

I recently had an opportunity to dine twice at GMG. The staff and my barman were outstanding. TonyG was fabulous. The food: meh to sad. I ordered fish & chips the first night. The fish was under seasoned, undercooked, tough and bland & the accompanying salad was soggy...twice. I did get two, sliced lengthwise in half fancy carrots that were tasty on the do-over dish. The bartender had insisted on a do-over. Bless his heart. Then he insisted on comping the dish. We bartered for another glass of wine and then insisted on a taste of a very nice sorbet.
But let s talk about the $29 breakfast buffet. It s embarrassing. The eggs were tasteless, too-long-in-the-chafer and clearly from a large food service plastic bag; the French toast was inedible; the hash browns were ok; the bacon was perfect; the oatmeal was nice but gummy and the fruit was fresh. $29? I think not. The hotel front desk staff at The Pines was completely uninterested.
This is not the Grouse Mountain Grille of years past. Sad. Disappointing.

A friend and I were in Beaver Creek for a vacation for a few days. The restaurant was recommended to us so we decided to try it out. The food was delicious, the service was great, but we both could not hear each other talk to carry on a conversation. We both were very uncomfortable and we were beginning to get headaches. It ruined our experience. I would never go there again unless I was sitting out on the deck outside. It's a shame to go to a restaurant for a special evening and be disappointed by something like this. We couldn't wait to get out of there.

Reserve - It is good - Beaver Creek lacks fresh vegetables with a dish and the chef's add to much salt. Octopus was too salty to enjoy. Osso Bucco needed a veggie to compliment the meat, NY Strip great - spinach"?"

I ve dined at GMG somewhere around 12 times and it s a 5 star experience every single time. As long as I am breathing, I will be dining at Grouse. The pretzel crusted pork chop and the elk are to die for. The service is phenomenal every single time I eat here, but tonight it was SO exceptional that I decided to write a review. Ron AKA Captain Ron is the best server I ve literally ever had. He was extremely knowledgeable about all of the menu items and ensured that we were provided with the highest standard of customer service. Ron is the GOAT we love him SO MUCH!!!! If I could give Ron and GMG 9999999999999 stars I would!!! XOXO Casey

Nice quality selection of items to choose. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pumpkin soup should be on the dessert menu. I also reccomend the fried Brussels and scallops. It is quite pricey but definitely worth the trip.

We went to Beavercreek for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary And this made it much more special. The restaurant had a lot of windows on the back and it made it much more easier to see the amazing view! I'm 11 years old and I was the most amazed out of my whole entire family. The food was super good, we got the 3 course meal special and there was a wide verity of options to choose from. Whether you are 11 or 70 this needs to be on you bucket list of a place to go!

Our waiter Dave brought service to a whole new level - he knew everything about the menu, provided great opinions and was incredibly friendly and kind. We can't wait to go back and will definitely request to be in Dave's section. Thanks

Fantastic restaurant located on the river. During my week stay in Colorado, I dined here twice and once at their sister restaurant called Sweet Basil. Needless to say I preferred Grouse! The burger was excellent. I recommend sticking with medium though as medium rare was too much so. Also, the onion rings were the absolute best I have ever had and I can still remember their wonderful salad: candied pumpkin seeds, shaved fennel, key lime vinaigrette, etc. John was an excellent server. Do not pass up on this excellent place!

Highly average all around. We couldn t get through to anyone on the phone to change our reservation, the wine by the glass selection was subpar, the service was questionable (we were offered more bread and the plate was returned with our used butter and jam), and the food was nothing special. Given the selection of great restaurants in the area, I can t recommend this one.

"Our pork chop is what brings people back" -- they didn't mention it is served luke warm!!!

Very nice atmosphere. Extensive wine list. The Crudo tuna appetizer was fantastic. My wife enjoyed her tenderloin. It was cooked perfectly. I was highly disappointed with the pork chop. It was served warm. I sent it back and they merely reheated it and brought it back again. Second time around, it was barely warmer than the first. At this point, I was hungry and didn't want to wait or fuss any longer. They took care of a round of drinks. I think they should've remade the pork chop rather than reheating it and bringing it back again. Very disappointing evening

My top choice for dinner during the week we stayed at Beaver Creek. Bread (and spreads), cocktails and appetizers all superb! Main courses were all yummy too. Mains could use a bit of modernizing (ours were quite saucy and heavy - but perhaps that s more a function of their clientele).

Try to get a table by the window if possible. Service was pleasant and casual. When we dined, there was a live piano player by the bar, too.

I try to avoid restaurants at hotels/lodges as restaurants are never their priority, but this restaurant proved me wrong. Our table enjoyed all the food, and the service was top notch. Worth checking out for a nice dinner in BC.

On our flight out we met a United Airline Captain and he told us what and exception place the Grouse Mountain Grill was and he was right! It was an AMAZING Birthday Dinner. We had a spectacular view, exceptional proactive service, and oh, The Bar Tender is a total pro and knows how to make phenomenal drinks, Margarita and Old Fashion. The recommendations were spot on. We went on for three hours plus and never felt rushed, never had to ask for anything. The entire staff noticed the little details and made it soo memorable. Do yourself a favor and make plans and dine here. We will be back...

I had heard good things about Grouse Mountain Grill for years but hadn't made it in. After the first night we immediately made a second reservation for the next day. Great variety of dishes, everything was delicious. Vegetarian options are amazing. You really can't go wrong. The staff are really on point, welcoming, and very helpful with suggestions for food or cocktails!

Delicious. We travel all over the world, and I have to say the cornmeal crusted trout is on my list of all time favorite meals. The food was great and the service is that of expected at a ski resort and for the level of service you receive. They have a sommelier on staff as well, if wine is your thing.

Unfortunately, after many great meals at Grouse Mo...

Unfortunately, after many great meals at Grouse Mountain, tonight was fairly terrible. It was even tougher as we invited two other families to join us for our daughter s 13th birthday celebration on the first night we were together in Beaver Creek, and I have never written a review of a restaurant online until now.

We took an 8:15pm reservation, which was quite late for our party of 13 because we loved this restaurant so much. We didn t sit until about 8:50pm. It then went downhill from there, with poor service on water refills and slow to arrive dishes, which took us until 10:45 to finish a two course dinner. Three prime ribeyes for $52 each entree were all overdone - all medium well though requested for medium rare, and super slim cuts at that. One beef tenderloin came well done and almost inedible - to one kids s comment that he thought it was a brownie and not a steak. I had to request a refill on my bottled sparkling water at least three times before getting it actually refilled, after flagging our server down. This was not the only time we had to flag down the servers for basic requests.

Many other severely disappointing moments for what was supposed to be a special night. At least the cocktails and wine were good, and the happy birthday ice cream sandwich brought out for our daughter mid-meal.

Hoping this was a one-off experience but not sure we ll make the effort next time to get a reservation here.

Grouse Mountain Grill is Colorado's finest gem. Wow! If you're looking for exquisite flavors and superior service, look no further. Our server, Ron, went above and beyond at any turn to ensure a fabulous dining experience; not to mention, his wit and charm made our night even more special than we could have imagined. Thank you Ron! As long as Grouse Mountain Grill is standing we will be returning customers. Come to place. You will not be disappointed.

Dined here in Dec 2020. Overall the food was excellent. I got the veal osso bucco which was excellent. Some of our party got the rib eye special which was good. And my niece got the pork chop which was excellent. The duck confit app was also excellent. I thought the Spanish octopus could use a little work. It was a little rubbery. Service was fantastic. Overall loved it.

It is hard to imagine this place not being absolutely delightful. This was my third time stopping in- celebrating the crazy year with my better half. Pork chop is obviously a staple, and nothing short of perfectly moist and delicious. I had the elk loin with parsnips trio- incredibly lean and mouthwatering. Blueberry cobbler for desert. Our server Rita was very nice and answered all of my many questions. Completely satisfied.

Holy Schnikes! This place is expensive!

Holy Schnikes! This place is expensive!

Our bill for 2ppl was $350 - full disclosure we ordered a $100 bottle of wine but wow.

The food was decent - honestly nothing to write home about. I could have cooked the same meal on my big green egg.

Then the check came - $300 before tip....! If you re going to spend that kind of coin - there is another restaurant very close by that is worth the price. It s name rhymes with Zendido. (And about 10 others at half the price)

Anyways - the atmosphere here is basic - like a 2001 diner basic. Nylon wrapped booth seats and all. The staff was decent - waiter was attentive. But I just find myself scratching my head as to why this meal was so expensive.

My family of 4 went for dinner with my well behaved 5 and 7 year old kids. It was just ok. The filet was very good and so was the tater tot appetizer. My husband was not too impressed by the elk....I tried it and agreed it was ok. The famous chocolate chip cookie dessert was a joke and it cost $25...something wrapped and pulled from the freezer I think. For being known as an upscale restaurant, it really isnt compared to many places we have been. We are from Austin, Tx area and can generally get much better experiences for the same price. My general feel is that Beaver Creek is not the place to expect great food after trying several restaurants. Next time I would pack a yeti with as much cheaper food as I can for my hotel instead of spending so much on mediocre food.
