While no building process is perfect, I have to say that Greentech was a delight to work with for our first new home build. We have been in our new home for about a month now and love it! We have no regrets in choosing them as our builder. One of the things I appreciate most about this company is the way they are willing to listen to and work with the customer until the product is satisfactory. Do you have to keep a watch on your build? Yes, as with ALL builders. But if you have any concerns, they are quick to address them, and work towards a solution. We always felt they were working "with us and for us", with our best interest in mind. Our project manager, Chris Barton, was the BEST! He made sure things were done right and if they weren't, he called the trades back in until it was done right. In addition to that, our house was completed ahead of schedule! That is almost unheard of these days. :) My personal review for Greentech stated that I think there are 3 components to a successful builder: its people, its product and its processes. I am very honest in saying that they hit the first two out of the park! Their people (employees) and product are awesome! That being said, they do have some tidying up to do on their processes which is why I am giving them 4 stars. You just have to realize that and make sure you are fully involved in working with them to ensure you are getting exactly the home you want. I looked at these Google reviews before we built and was a little nervous at some of the comments left but after having Greentech build our home, I don't relate with any of the negative things said and I am so sorry that some have had a less than ideal experience. We love our new home and look forward to spending many a years enjoying it. Thanks Greentech!!

Edit: Warranty manager has become much more responsive to issues, particularly urgent ones, so I wanted to give Greentech credit for that.

Very disappointed in our new home. Greentech promises a lot and consistently delivers below expectation.

-They are disorganized during the design and building process and don't communicate clearly among team members. I had to spend countless hours double checking the staff's accounting and design details.
-They will show you model homes and not deliver what is advertised if you opt for that package stating that only the layouts of the homes are guaranteed.
-They will hire random contractors and do not ensure highest level of quality or even consistency among different homes. Our new home has uneven drywall, uneven trim, uneven paint, poorly sealed doors, and even a roof leak in first year of ownership.
-The staff that is very friendly and accommodating during the build process will become heavy handed during the closing period and force you to close with various fees/liabilities even if you are unsatisfied with the condition of the home. The duo of ladies who attend your walk-through will even make sarcastic comments and roll their eyes at your concerns.
-The warranty manager after the home is built takes weeks to respond to your concerns if at all and will fight you on many issues. They don't care to ensure you are happy with your product. They just want you to buy the product and accept it at face value.
-After speaking with various neighbors, it has become apparent there is rampant nepotism with various owners who know the builder personally getting access to various upgrades and more personalized oversight.

Furthermore, this builder tears down every tree in the area and doesn't replant. Very ironic for a builder calling themselves Greentech. I hope they don't flourish in the Chattanooga area any further and destroy the natural scenery. There was also previously a glowing review from the owner of the company on here which was likely reported, so I would be very skeptical of these 5 star reviews.

I bought a show home so I didn t take part in choosing any features but I love this home so much. Everyone was super friendly in the buying process and very accommodating. The home is beautiful inside and out. The only thing I would want different about this home is more storage space, including a useable attic. Other than that I have zero complaints.

The GreenTech family was great to work with! We moved into a 1930's complete remodel and were blown away with the cosmetic touches that they used in the home. They managed to keep the charm of the old style yet include the conveniences and quality of new construction. Bill L. is an excellent project manager. Great communication throughout the walk-throughs prior to closing. Ran into some issues after closing and Greentech was still very responsive to rectify the problems as soon as practical. I would highly recommend GreenTech Homes to anyone looking in the area.

After months of trying to buy land and build, we shifted gears and decided to buy a Greentech House at the end of 2019. We are almost 6 months in and have loved every second of it. I have read through some of the other reviews and thought we would share our experience:

1. Quality - Our electric bill has been very low due to the amount of insulation and ZIP sheathing system (this is huge factor). Also, the encapsulated crawlspace with spray foam helps keep everything dry and temperature regulated.

2. Service - Kelly (sales), Kim/Damian (project mgrs.), and Shannon (closing coordinator) did a fantastic job through the process. We felt listened to and they accommodated a few of our change order requests. In new construction, one of the myths is everything will be perfect. I have news for you nothing is ever perfect, yet they strive for it to be. We had a few small issues and Damian/Kim were quickly on it with subs to fix them.

3. Value - I have always operated with the principle: You get what you pay for. After looking through hundreds of floor plans, we finally found one that makes sense. It is practical yet lovely and flows well. It is open concept with lots of natural light. We really enjoy the extra touches of the vaulted ceilings in the master and living room. Check out the picture of the electrical panel and how neat the wiring is! What contractor cares about what s behind the wall!?!? Piper is their interior design consultant. She did a wonderful job tying in all the elements of an industrial farmhouse. One negative is the dishwasher is on the lower end, but the other appliances are top-notch. The other negative is we have had to do a lot of landscaping work (grass) on the back yard, but that is to be expected on new construction. Just factor that into your budget and you re good.

4. Extras - The Locals Only closing gift was a nice touch! Once we used the owner keys , it changed the pins in the lock so the subcontractor keys would no longer work. Also, we downloaded the BuilderTrend app which has all the materials and products used, as well as progress pics from framing, pre-wiring, trim, and finish. That has been SUPER helpful.

5. Overall - They honored the contract, delivered an enjoyable experience, and have kept good on their word with their warranty!

Green Tech has dumped a load of dirt on a piece of city owned property that is adjacent to my lot, causing water to sit above the foundations of my garage. I have visited their office, called them, and emailed the partners at Green Tech. The receptionist has promised me multiple times that the COO will call me back and that they will move the dirt but neither has been the case. One of the partners at Green Tech is a neighbor of mine who assured me in person that they are going to address the issue. I have been dealing with this for over six months and I m sick of it. I had hoped that Green Tech would handle this professionally when I brought the issue to their attention but that has not been the case. I suspect that I m going to have to get an attorney involved.

What's the deal with the GreenTech Homes "Heritage Walk" development? The proposed development on narrow, busy Hitchcock Road hasn't happehned. Though every tree and critter is gone and only dirt/mud remain. This is unacceptable! Someone needs to look into why, after all this time, the only thing done is total tree removal, critter displacement, and weeds galore along Hitchcock Road. Come on, people, get it done or sell the property to someone who can!!

This builder stands by their work. I've had my house for four years and I'm so happy with the quality. Any time I've had a question or concern, they always have the time to talk with me. I come from a family of builders so it's pretty rare to find ones that take pride in what they do! So happy I went with Greentech for my home build!!

We were displaced by the tornado and Greentech helped us get into a home quickly.

The home is great. I m surprised with how large it feels bcs the Greentech home is smaller than the home we came from. But somehow we have more space now! And we love it! It s also fun to be in a new home where nothing needs to be fixed.

My 3 star rating is based on the following:

My 3 star rating is based on the following:

1. Greentech gets ONE star for the design and contract process. The design process was terrible, and we had to get a lawyer involved just to be able to show how serious we were about them and their dishonest behavior. It was almost like they are trained to get you in a contract and then say Gotcha! How can you advertise attic space then try to charge me for a door to the attic which has been advertised? Or how about telling us that people don't really use pantries now when your model home has one? Beware the everything is an upgrade.

2. Greentech gets a FOUR for the building process. Damian and Kim, the project Managers are amazing! They are helpful, responsive, and are nice to work with. If not for them there would be a 1 star rating for Greentech as a whole. Coming to us and informing us of potential issues with a decision that we made in design is something that I can respect. This did happen a few times and we were able to come together and make decisions to make the house work.

I also agree that some of these 5 star reviews are from current employees and one of the realtors that work for the company. That is truly dishonest. Please be honest somehow and take down the Greentech employee reviews. It keeps people from making informed decisions.

We are in the home now, and there are a few issues (nothing major at the moment), Damian is definitely communicating with us to get things in line.

Overall I would never do this again and especially not with Greentech.

From the time of starting the process when we called Jeremy to the closing day, it was an amazing experience. The design team was very helpful and knowledgeable and kept up with the trends, project manager Damian was also very professional and polite and took of all our issues. Very patient with us and never said "NO", always willing to find out first before just turning us down on anything we wanted. Dell was also amazing in getting things done on a timely manner and working with us on everything we requested. Thank you all for making my our dream home a reality.

We were first time house builders. We are very pleased with the final result. Yes, there were many things we did not know, about the process, however, we were directed in the path we wanted to take, from the floorplan to the lot. Of course, there were 'hiccups' and 'headaches,' along the way, but nothing that could not be dealt with, using patience, perserverance, and presence. The positive definitely outweighed the negative. The employees, that we worked with, were friendly and willing to listen to any questions and concerns and come up with solutions that best fit our needs. We felt welcomed and comfortable at both the office and build site, by everyone.
We do recommend Greentech of Chattanooga, Tn.

I have been living in my Greentech home for around 6 weeks now and really do love my home. The process of building had some negatives to it with some poor communication throughout. However, every issue that was brought to attention was addressed by Greentech thus far and my closing occurred within 2 weeks of when they initially quoted it to be.

Earlier I had given a 1 Star Rating which wasn't intended for the Builder but for the Representative that answered the phone for this builder. Working in New Construction for over 20 years, I should have written an explanation of the 1 Star Rating but did figure that I would have received a call early on after giving it. I completely forgot about the Rating but not the experience until I did receive a call from Jim Lee. After speaking with Jim Lee and letting him know about my experience with the representative he assured me that the situation would be corrected and looked into further so that no other agent would experience an unethical issue. Jim Lee was very professional and again, the rating wasn't intended for the Builder of Green Tech Homes.

Our family is only a few days in to living in our new GreenTech home and are loving it! We enjoyed the process from purchase with Jeremy, design with Tara, managing our project with Kim and Damian, and wrapping it all up with Shannon.

GreenTech followed through on all aspects of the contract and then some. I appreciate responsiveness greatly and they always answered my questions and met needs quickly, including a couple changes we made or odd times to meet us at the house to look at things.

We couldn't be happier and will gladly share with others what a positive experience building with GreenTech has been for us!

Greentech homes of chattanooga has been awful to work with. Too much to write in this space. For full details:

See Facebook posts #dotherightthinggreentech

I noticed Paul Teruya, the owner, and Jeremy Fitzsimmons, their realtor, gave the company 5 stars on this site.

Please be aware that at least 6 of the five star reviews were posted by Greentech employees.

I am currently building a new GreenTech home, but I cannot recommend building with GreenTech. If you want a Greentech home, I would suggest purchasing a completed spec home and only after having the home inspected by a home inspector. I would also strongly recommend having a buyer s realtor to advocate for you.

At three months into the building process, we had multiple issues come up with the floor plan and the resolution to these issues has meant that the house we re getting isn t the house we thought we were purchasing.

When it comes to GreenTech houses, if you & your home inspector can t walk through the house, don t buy the house.

Update:
Due to Greentech s poor planning and a litany of construction errors, we have already missed our first 2 closing dates.

Update:
After missing our first 4 closing dates (April 5th, May 17th, May 31st, & June 7th), we finally closed the second week of June.
We moved in on 6/30/19 and these are a few photos of the finish quality issues we have found so far.

Update: 8/16/19
We ve been on the house for 6 weeks now. Our mail still isn t being delivered to the subdivision, because Greentech failed to install the centralized mailboxes for the subdivision. We are also waiting for all the needed warranty work to start to correct the amateur tile and trim work installed in our home.

We built our home from Atlanta and travelled to see the progress. The staff worked with us to conveniently get our approval as we progressed. I finally gave up on their ridiculous software called Buildertrends and insisted I would talk to them. Kim Cobb and Bill Iorio were very helpful with recommendations and cooperated with our unique requirements. I love the home they created with my husband as the interior designer. We are in the first year but so far Kim especially has responded to our requests and needs.

I have absolutely loved working with GreenTech homes! Their whole team has been incredible, namely Laura and Paul. They have bent over backwards to help us get into the perfect house for our little family and we truly can t thank them enough. Laura is a wealth of knowledge on not just all things realty related, but also Chattanooga info in general. She s also gone above and beyond in answering a WIDE array of questions I ve had for her - I don t even know how she knows so much, but I m so thankful she does! We re truly grateful for her expertise and level of professionalism and can t recommend them enough.

I am a local real estate agent who has the tremend...

I am a local real estate agent who has the tremendous privilege and joy of selling a couple hundred homes a year. I've worked with several dozen builders.

Many years ago I happened to sell the very first home ever built by GreenTech Homes. Fast forward a few years, the owners of that home decided to move out of state, and my wife and I decided to purchase the home for our budding family. So I now also live in the very first home GreenTech ever built. I can vouch firsthand for the quality of the build. I live in it every day.

After that, my experience with GreenTech began to become more intimate, culminating in the opportunity to work with them directly. Some would say the intimacy of that relationship invalidates my experience and review of GreenTech. I would claim the opposite. I have seen them at their very best and at their very worst. The only reason I have a relationship with GreenTech is that I see in them something INCREDIBLY rare in business and altogether precious: the relentless drive to constantly grow in excellence, combined with the humility to quickly acknowledge failures, undergirded by a team of people whose greatest work passion is finding ever increasing ways to make the customer experience unforgettable.

Do they get it right every time? Far from it! They are humans! But unlike so many in business, they have a winsome humility to admit the mistake, an unshakable confidence to own 100% of it, and a determination to make it right without counting the cost. Do you know how rare that is? Do you know how refreshing that is?

A Realtor and their buyer said it so well the other day. They had built homes before and were expecting a quality product from GreenTech albeit a depersonalized, big box experience that wasn't tailored to their needs. They shared with me that their actual experience was deeply personalized and rewarding. GreenTech employees bent over backwards to make their day. By the end, the customers and Realtor were so blown away, they decided to affectionately refer to GreenTech as "the Zappos of new home building."

That is something to cherish and something worth coming alongside. That's what I have done. I get to experience this amazing reality daily. I hope you get to experience GreenTech for yourself. You won't regret it.

Greentech builds a fantastic home. The workmanship and quality is unmatched. The staff at Greentech is responsive and takes care of issues as they come up. There have been no major issues other than some minor punch list items, but they have handled them all professionally and with the customers best interest at heart. Blain (construction pm) and Tyson (warranty manager) are friendly and helpful and will go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of.

I would highly recommend Greentech and this will not be the last home we purchase from them.
