My wife gets us help here with food and they have helped us a couple times with lights, I am the only one working while my wife attends college full time and takes care of our 3 girls. This place has been a blessing to us! Thank you Urban Ministries.
They are really nice people. I've been twice in the past 3 yrs and the first time I went some people left me behind on bills an they paid it the 2ed time a tornado come thru our area in NC and they gave people food an clothes. An I really do appreciate it. Thank GUM

My dealing with this place was quite a unique case. A very complicated one too. About the place itself, i wasnt in the same position as everyone else but, The evening meetings boost morale. The director Michael Pearson does his best to put people in a right direction. How he manages the place and takes care the people in his care is really one of a kind. He deserves more recognition as a life coach, a motivational speaker and a counselor.
Somewhat 4 years later and I truly appreciate how he tried to lift up and guide me to do better in life. A really good person, I wish nothing but the very best.

The wait for any kind of assistance is extremely long!!!! I thank God for putting a place like this up for people whom really need help. Not lazy people that come for help all week!!! God bless all the volunteers who give money and time to assist with others well being. I will be volunteering as soon as my situation turn around.God bless them all!!!
Its an alright place to get food if u need when you really need food. You can donate food, cat food, dog food, women's products. They need all of those so please if u have extra please donate. you can write off on taxes also.

DO NOT STAY HERE! THERE IS A REALLY BITCHY WOMAN NAMED SHERRY HERE THAT ALWAYS TRIES TO PISS OFF PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME! SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHEN TO QUIT SAYING THINGS YOU DO WRONG. SHE ISN'T DOING HER JOB RIGHT! SHE MAKES YOU WAIT FOR A BED LONGER THAN YOU HAVE TO WHEN THERE ARE BEDS AVAILABLE. SO SHE NEEDS TO BE FIRED. LIKE I SAID, DON'T STAY HERE.
This place has hone down. When this guy got shot and killed up there, people stop going up there and hanging around.
The staff is extremely rude. My friend says you are on your own. Move fast, stay to yourself, make caseworker work for you, take advantage of Salvation Army, don t gorge on all there free food or health will decline because they don t have a nutritional program. Find yourself quick employment by temp agencies then move slowly towards full time employment. Needs entirely new staff.

I take people to get help to Urban Ministry. They are an amazing Organization. They house, feed and provide clothing. They provide guidance if needed. Wonderful and caring staff. If anyone needs help of any kind. I suggest this would be the first step.
Great access to groceries and sometimes pet food, and they allow you 4 visits to the Food Bank per year. You must bring state issued IDs and social security cards for all the people in your household for which you are asking assistance. They offer financial assistance for rent, rent deposits, light bills, and heating assistance. May experience a bit of a wait as many are seeking assistance at this time.

Used it as a transition when I encountered an inability to keep of with bills. This place offers beds, shower (very dirty), and food. The only thing I found positive, was the company of some people I met there in the same position.
Understandably, there are rules that one must follow in order to maintain a client profile here. The rules apply to those the staff seem to favor disliking. I have personally seen several conduct infarctions resulting in no penalties, but when someone (that I will say is not liked by a staff member in charge) makes a slight error, they will be made an example of and it is honestly ridiculous.
This is an option for people seeking assistance temporarily, but be prepared to be treated like a child and personally targeted by staff. If it is all you can find, go for it and good luck.
Went to SPECTRUM. Wait wait wait .Good service when you get to the counter. To expensive. Get Amazon Fire and indoor antenna. After that Spectrum Will give you a deal for 21.99 for 2 years.
This places goes above and beyond.. sure maybe not every day is a good day but when a family hasn't ate because they lost their income and need help until a new job starts it's definitely a great place to go. Fed us and referred us to other places for food. We wouldn't have made it without them.

Went there for shelter am from outta town and had to sit up all night in hard chair so no rest at all and was in same room as men while listening to the employees snore at desk.wasnt allowed to come back Saturday night because person who had to approve it doesn't work weekends.no compassion at all
Great place if you are in a bind. Very helpful. 4 stars only because I have received moldy items 1 time. Moral of the story is check your food before you eat it.
Greensboro is one of the best cities to live in inside of North Carolina

Wow they help with food and provide lunch everyday. The food is amazing... Grateful for the only hot food I eat once a day!
Sat to wait for food for an hour and person came in after me got served guess it's butter rice for me and my kids til next time

A place to go for help, when you are in need of help with bills and food or a place to stay or if you just need to talk to someone. GOD for using them to help the poor and needy, and giving all people a clean safe place when you are hungry or hurting and need help. We like to thank all the people who help me and many other people like myself, at the time I was there the overseer was Mr Mike Pearson and he done a great job, making sure no one person on his watch was hungry or hurting and he cares for all people. If you need to talk or someone to talk to or hear you his door was always open, you know when you are poor and in needy you want someone who you can talk to and hear you. Mr Pearson is person who hear you, and do everything in his power to help you, you know this is one time i needed to talk to someone and I went to see Mr Pearson and we talked he typed as I was talking and I didn't think he heard me, but he heard any word i said and when I stopped talking he answered everything I said and he helped me with the problem and if I never said thank you forgive me and thank you.
Greensboro Urban M inistry is a great place to the people in need who live in our community and will help you they have a food bank, financial assistance for people who have a hard ship or crisis with proof of their situation! Loving staff who really care about our community! God Bless there Ministry!
