This was one of the most lovely hotel resorts that we have stayed at in our travels across the country. Even with all of the Covid restrictions in place, the Green Mountain Inn staff went above and beyond in terms of cleanliness & friendliness. I didn t see one spot in need of repair anywhere on the grounds, and the swimming pool, jacuzzi and pool deck were both spotless and refreshing on a summer afternoon. The marshmallow roasting around the fire pit was one of our favorite parts. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place- I only wish we had stayed there for more nights!

I had a wonderful fall getaway in October at the Green Mountain Inn. We were lucky to get a spot there on short notice the Monday night of Columbus Day weekend, and we were treated to peak fall foliage season! The check in process was easy, and our room was situated on their highest floor (either 2 or 3...I forget!). The room itself was spacious, quaint, and everything we could possibly hope for in our first Vermont inn experience. We had two queen beds and ample space to spread out. The Green Mountain Inn is located right in the heart of Stowe, so the main general stores are right at your feet! It was easy to grab a coffee, peruse the stores, and jump on the Stowe Recreation Path to enjoy the fall scenery. Parking was a breeze too and was included for guests of the hotel. I can t imagine a better and more central place to stay in Stowe for the fall! We ll be back!

My husband and I honeymooned here in June 2014, and made it a point to return with our 3 year old for some fall fun. Early November is an awesome time as it is off season and still picturesque with foliage!
We love staying at the Green Mountain Inn. We were lucky enough to book the same suite (in the Mansfield house), and couldn't be happier. The room has an elegant, country inn charm with all the modern comforts you'd expect.
From check in, to breakfast service, to dinner at The Whip, the staff is great. Special shout out to Paul, the guest services manager, who was extremely warm, friendly, and helpful in helping us find toddler friendly hiking trails.
Everything you need is either at the inn or a short walk or drive away. Whether it's a romantic stay or family getaway, you cannot go wrong with this place!

We will most definitely return!!!

Very nice accommodations at this inn. Good location at the base of mountain road and right on the main street. Outdoor pool and hot tub were very enjoyable. Didn't eat at the restaurant at the hotel. Staff were pleasant. They automatically add a 6% surcharge to your bill for staff tip. I prefer to leave a cash tip.

We had a great experience here. Very quaint and 'new englandy'. Right in downtown Stowe and a quick walk to the little shops downtown. The front desk staff were exceptionally nice and professional. The only problem was that we stayed in a room that was parallel with the main Street and it was noisy. Besides the noise, we would definitely recommend.

This Inn has been around since the 1800's. We've eaten at The Whip, which is an excellent restaurant. Highly recommend the restaurant! We were actually at the hotel for a Stowe Ghost Tour. Also highly recommended! Lots of Stowe history by local tour guide, Sean, who tells wonderful ghost stories involving the Green Mountain Inn, which is supposed to be haunted! Go find out why and how to meet the ghosts!

I absolutely loved my stay at the inn. We stayed in a king suite and it was stunning! The bed was the most comfortable I ever slept in and the staff was very friendly and helpful. would recommend to anyone coming to Vermont.

We stayed here for two nights for a quick getaway and to see some of the local sites. The hotel staff are very friendly and willing to offer recommendations of what to do and where to go. Hotel is beautiful and kept very clean. We stayed in a fireplace suite in the rear building - room was large and very nice. Had a whirlpool tub along with a king bed, sofa, desk and fireplace. Pool is outdoors but it is heated so even though the air was cold the water was warm. Also used the sauna which was very nice.

Came back to this spot after discovering it about 3 years ago. Same charm and service. Food and drinks were better in our recollection of our first visit but the COVID precautions do seem to take a little toll. Kale salad (with very little evidence of the listed brussel sprouts) was okay and the signature corn chowder soup could use more seasoning. But host and servers were all very friendly and efficient.

Summer evenings in Vermont are best gatherd around an outdoor tabl e at the Green Mountain Inn. A creative menue- simple , farm fresh with a group of well selected wines th at make for an efgortlessly elegant evening. Make Reservations- and arrive hungry!

Been coming for several years and used to love this place. The idea of customer service has not kept up with the times by any means. The assistant manager was not only unhelpful, but borderline rude.

The original and still the best classic bar and grill in Stowe. Be sure to check out the incredible collection of Walton Blodget watercolors, most in the upstairs dining room. A stay in Stowe is not complete without a drink at The Whip.

Wasn't too tough to get a table, even while it was crowded. The decor and feel of the restaurant are nice, but the menu is quite expensive considering the qaulity of the food. I expected a little better for the money.

Because I enjoyed my dinner so much last year, I decided to get the same dinner entre this year. I ordered the Gorgonzola-Crusted Filet Mignon with garlic red wine sauce. Once again the dinner was delicious. Thank you to the kitchen for the great food and thank you Cassidy for the great service. We will be back again next year during our next vacation at Smuggs.

Went to visit a friend who was staying there. Was very impressed with the room it had a fire place and a big tub hidden away behind a wall. There's a pool area and am outdoor for roasting marshmallows. Check out the ghost tour to!

Location, landscape, architecture, decorating, and atmosphere were great.
My room at Mansfield bldg was spacious with well equipped and decorated. Fireplace and simple drawings were the essence.
Well cleaned except a capsule coffee machine and mirrors. Noises of footsteps from the upper level at night was the reason I gave this place 4 stars.
Definitely I want to stay again at this lovely hotel.

Lovely location in a picturesque little village. Gracious reception service, clean and classy rooms, and good amenities. This all contributed to a very relaxing long weekend!

The check-in and check-out process were prompt and easy.

The gym is well-equipped, and feels nice and private.

May 12th - May 16th, 2016. We had a great time at the Green Mountain Inn! We had booked a suite of rooms to celebrate our son's graduation from Norwich University. The staff was excellent and happy to work with us. The hotel bar and lounge, "The Whip", was excellent as well. Everyone was very friendly. We had already fallen in love with Vermont and the Stowe area. This trip just reenforced why we love the area. I would highly recommend staying at the Green Mountain Inn in Stowe, VT.

Staff and room was great! The fireplace certainly kept us nice and toasty as did our jacuzzi while we stood snowed in! Love the sliding doors for the bathroom. Wish the bed wasn t so firm, made it hard to sleep. Outdoor pool is GREAT just wish it stood open later. But it s a great place in a cute quaint town. Very much enjoyed my stay!

It was very nice, the room was easy to find and spacious. The bed was comfortable and had easy phone charging access. The bathroom was very clean with a good shower. The only thing was we couldn't find any soap besides the body wash in the shower. Good food with good service.

We visited the Inn for their massage and wellness services. The experience was fantastic, relaxing, and truly felt their love of their craft. Not just a going through the motions kind of massage place. Very skilled, detail oriented, and thoughtful. Highly recommend!

This place is great. I've stayed here for business trips and most recently a family vacation with my 3 kids. We had a great long weekend, a getaway during COVID. They had all the safety protocols in place, and everyone respected the mask rule.

We got a great deal on our room, complete with a jacuzzi tub, fireplace, and extra single bed wheeled in at no extra charge.

The pool area is fantastic. The kids loved the pool and hot tub, as did the adults - especially because they serve drinks poolside. They also had family style dinners served at the pool, which were delicious and extremely affordable.

We took advantage of the s'mores by the fire pit in the evening, and enjoyed meeting other families doing the same.

The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. I will definitely be returning to the Green Mountain Inn!!

This was a great place to stay. The hotel was old but clean with plenty of amenities. However the Whip restuarant was not all that. The steak was amazing but the service was horrible. Almost had to beg for a tea refill everytime. And the waitress was not very attentive. Plus pretty pricey.

An institution of Stowe Vermont. Very nice place to stay and relax. Not so good for families with children. Their restaurant the Whip has amazing food and great service.
I would strongly recommend the Green Mountain in.
