Really nice and cozy, plenty of amenities, outdoor pool and Jacuzzi. Both heated. Indoor Jacuzzi, very good restaurant. Great beds. Great hotel.
Charming old inn, fabulous location but room was a bit too small
If you eat Thanksgiving dinner out much and are seated towards the end of the night just before that party of 20 then you expect to be an after thought at best to your waiter. But we enjoyed the evening and laughed together at our over worked server. We paid the gratuity in full despite the service. They were nice. The food was great. Chocolate lava was frozen. that was a first! Great town and comfortable place.
Our room is very comfortable and beautiful! The hotel is very close to several restaurants and shops.
We love the Green Mountain Inn! Clean, cozy and charming!!
A beautiful hotel located in the heart of Stowe. Our go to place whenever we visit.
Attended a wedding, the ceremony site was beautiful. Dinner was amazing. The staff and servers were great. The bar was ok
Beautiful place to stay! Friendly staff. Pinnacle suite is amazing!!
Green Mountain Inn is our home away from home in the lovely town of Stowe. We are in Stowe often, winter, summer and fall, have visited the town for many years since childhood growing up in New England.
The hotel has a pool & hot tub, plus an outdoor fire pit in the backyard to gather around on chilly afternoons and evenings with a lovely glass of wine.
They provide Gilchrist & Soames of London bath toiletries, good strong shower heads, plus some rooms have Jacuzzis.
The restaurant on the premises: The Whip Bar & Grill serves regional American cuisine. Prices are very reasonable.
The place was nice, food is great, would certainly recommend to anyone in the area. Decor is a tad bit dated though so fair warning.
Love this place. Very nice and conformable rooms. Great food. Excellent service. We will definitely e back
Accommodating visitors to Store since 1833... they must be doing something right.
Stayed there in the summer. The area is beautiful and the hotel has everything you need... swimming pool, exercise room, comfortable beds, and well priced. Would stay again.
Nice comfortable bed .Lovely breakfast.Very busy in restaurant need to book dinner, but very nice atmosphere and good food.
My wife surprised me with a trip to Stowe and we stayed at the Inn. Breakfast was very good and the rooms were amazing. The beds were super comfortable and warm. Would definitely stay again.
Great location in downtown Stowe. Stayed in the Pinnacle suite, which was spacious and comfortable. Very helpful staff. Also appreciated the package detail with lift tickets.
Awesome hotel in the heart of Stowe. It is minutes from the major attractions. The staff is friendly, and the rooms are clean. It is a perfect taste of Vermont.
Our go-to place to stay in Stowe. Nice deluxe rooms with gas fireplaces and big Jacuzzi tubs. Good breakfasts upstairs and nice dinner restaurant downstairs. Located in the middle of town with walking access to many shops and restaurants, and the Stowe bike/walking path.
Enjoy each stay. It's in a great location and the Inn is very comfortable!
This was my 1st visit to Stowe, Vermont and hubby found this gem of a place. Has everything you truly need! Heated outdoor pool, jacuzzi, restaurant and outdoor pool bar and nightly bonfires! Even had a gym, etc... We were only there for a couple of nights, but I felt so relaxed because of how private and quaint it was. Despite being on a main road, I honestly didnt hear the traffic or even the construction going on. It has so many other places to visit in walking distance too. Great staff. Very helpful and friendly! Well worth the 4 hr drive from Connecticut.
On arrival we were told we had been upgraded to a room with a fire and jacuzzi as we were Expedia customers - wonderful surprise as the room was lovely. In the main lounge from 4 to 5pm daily they offer FREE tea, hot Stowe cider and cookies, after a days walking just the best to come back to. All staff exceedingly polite and nothing too much for anyone. Would highly recommend this hotel, very central in Stowe, plenty of free parking and if on a long New England tour, a very good laundromat 400 yards away.
The location was great. Room and amenities were very good.
This place is charming, quaint, cozy, and very comfortable!! Three of us shared a room with 2 queen beds and had ample space. The fireplace added a very hygge feel to the space. Paulie, the manager who seemed to be working all day and all night, made our stay incredibly enjoyable with his interesting conversation, his many kind gifts and acknowledgements of my daughter s birthday, and by his welcoming demeanor. We felt like VIP guests in his beautiful, well-appointed home. Whip restaurant served a delicious dinner and were happy to accommodate my veganism. The breakfast at Whip was ok. The room was too cold. The waitress was not very attentive. Others in my group enjoyed the fresh waffles and pancakes, but there was very little for a vegan. Overall, we had a FABULOUS stay at Green Mountain Inn, and we will definitely return!!!!
I love this inn. The rooms have been renovated but still true to the history. Spend the extra money and get a room in the newer buildings.
The in room jacuzzi is awesome (but if you like really hot water you may be a bit disappointed).
Curl up with a glass of wine in front of the fire and enjoy
Historic village inn in the heart of Stowe. Many famous figures have stayed here and the authentic New England charm makes this a great place to stay. The Whip Bar and Grille which is part is a fantastic place to dine as well.
Very charming Inn in the heart of Stowe, VT. It was our first time ti Vermont and we had a great time. Nice porch to hang out on and check out the tourist.
Very old hotel nicely kept. Hot air conditioning wasnt an option back then.
Terrific staff and management always make for a terrific stay. You cannot beat the location of this 185 year old inn, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Good dining options and comfortable bar are enjoyable. The heated, year-round, outdoor pool and Jacuzzi are special treats.
Enjoy!
In a historic building with rural New England appeal, hotel staff were friendly. Our rooms worked fine for our brief overnight ski weekend, but had little beyond basic amenities. Felt a bit pricey for conditions, but likely because of peak ski season rates.
Was greeted so delightfully, my experience was delicious and warm, it was 5 hours of joy
My favorite part about this inn was the Outdoor Heated Pool - it was a large pool lit very well and deep enough to really swim. There was tons of snow all around and we were frolicking around in bathing suits and heavy warm robes. They sell the robes there if you want to buy them. It was also open pretty late in the evening so perfect after a full day of skiing and or after dinner. Our room also had a hot tub and fireplace also a nice touch after a long day on the slopes. Stowe, VT is pretty far north so the skiing is great and you get a sense being outside of the country when you are at the lodge. Does not feel like the other VT mountains.
Attended a wedding, great food, bar service was ok, servers and staff were great. Location is perfect.
Great place if you are looking for a romantic getaway, or if you are looking for nearby adventure. Swimming in a heated outdoor pool at 10 degrees was truly an amazing experience.
We loved it. Great folks, great location, well maintained old inn in downtown Stowe.
Great facilities in the middle of everything. Perfect.
The Green Mountain Inn is in the heart of Store, with shopping and restaurants all around. The room was comfortable with a great view.
Great room. Clean and smelled great. Love the restaurant too.
Everyone were really nice and helpful!! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable!! The biggest downfall was that the restaurant was closed the 2 days I was there and the last morning the water was shut off..ugg!! They should have given notice if this was happenings!!
I drive 3 hours to get to this place I love it here and the restaurant downstairs is great
A model of excellence. Each time I visit I can see the upgrades and renovations that have occurred, keeping the inn fresh, modern, and appealing. I can easily recommend to anyone travelling to Stowe to consider staying here, winter or summer. And the heated pool is quite nice when it's frosty outside ! The restaurant here known as The Whip is also awesome. In the 10 years I have been coming here, the food has always been exceptional.
Always a delightful stay. Beautiful inn with a wonderful staff in a picture perfect location
This place was awesome! It's historic and is centrally located on the main street so we could walk to several local bars and restaurants from there. Definitely recommend.
Great food and the staff is super personable and professional. Don't skip the Sac Du Bon-Bon!
Outstanding well maintained classic Stowe property. It's the only place I would choose to stay in the beautiful state of Vermont. Dinner was exceptional.
Located in the middle of downtown Stowe. Parking is limited. Food is absolutely amazing. Gets busy at peak time so reservations are recommended.
This place looks smaller than it is but it actually has over a hundred beautiful rooms. Great location and Central to lower village. The restaurant and bar have always been a favorite of mine.
Beautiful historic inn. Great restaurant. Enjoy reading and seeing pictures up on the walls to learn local history.
Big rooms! Our room had a hot tub in the bedroom. Only annoyance was that our room wasn't connected to the other parts of the hotel. The reception, gym, and restaurant were separated from our room.
I stopped by chance they had a room. In fact I had my choice of size rooms. This place is very charming with tons of character. The young guy at the reception desk was super pleasant and made some restaurant recommendations besides their own restaurant. The room was on the smaller side, but I didn't need anything larger. The bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. Very little noise outside my room. I would stay here again.
Room 225 is small: 16x10 feet. Very small bathroom: 5x6.
Good location, but will not return. Felt the size of the room wasn't worth the rate.
$185 all-inclusive. That's about $1 per square foot. Over-priced.
Hostess Tami was very accommodating, we arrived a little early and recommended a brewery near by and sent us a text when our room Was ready.
My wife discovered the inn when she and a friend dropped in to, Green Mountain's restaurant, The Whip. The Whip is excellent and the Inn matches it. Very good facilities - and tastefully appointed. Will come again.
Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Had breakfast and the food was very good. Waitress was very nice and pleasant. Room was clean and big.
Adorable, clean rooms. Friendly staff. Wonderful restaurant attached - The Whip - highly recommend the Caesar salad with house-made dressing or seasonal gazpacho.
Very beautiful quaint inn. The service is great, especially John from Jamaica who went above and beyond to help service us. The food looks fantastic and overall it is a wonderful place to stay. There is lovely sitting areas and board games to play for good family fun.
Lovely place and great service especially for the wedding party.
We had a wonderful stay here. We were in Mill House and enjoyed a lovely room which had everything we could possibly want. The location is excellent and the accompanying restaurant was very good quality as well. We would happily stay there again.
We had a lovely stay at the Green Mountain Inn. Our room was sparkling clean and beautiful. The buffet breakfast was super! So many choices and so much food! Heather helped make our stay very enjoyable!
This was a last-minute stay and I have stayed at a lot of hotels around the world and this was so charming and so warm. We were steps away from everything we needed. The hotel facilities were impeccable and very relaxing. The staff felt like family. I highly highly recommend this hotel. You will not be disappointed.
My Wife and I stayed here for a minney get away as we live about 30 miles away. I'm a super fussy person when it comes to hotels and I get grossed out very easily if the place is not extremely clean. Green Mountain Inn is simply put a fantastic place to stay. The staff and management are amazing! The Inn is exceptionally clean! The pool area and restaurant are perfect. We ate dinner here twice and the food was excellent! Location could not be better! We stayed for three nights as we brought our bikes to ride bike path. Stowe is a beautiful area with many great shops and restaurants to visit. My wife and I have stayed at a few different places in Stowe for this very reason. However, shopping for a place to stay stops right here! We are very much looking forward to our next vacation at the Green Mountain Inn! We could not be more impressed with this Inn and will absolutely be back!
.new bar ! Like it overlooking the street.... big thumbs up !
Lovely cozy room that had both a fireplace and soaker tub (both of which were used)? Friendly staff and beautiful premises!
We didn't stay at the inn but from touring the grounds and eating at the restaurant, you definitely get a high class feel. The rooms are spacious and accommodating, yet steeped in traditional architecture and style. But despite the throw back, you'll be supplied with modern amenities. The views are gorgeous, even if you live in the area and you have quick access to local shops and places for sightseeing. Prices are high but you get a good value and certainly within expectation of the area. If you're coming through plan a trip, at least to grab lunch or dinner and your the building.
