Fantastic restaurant! Delicious food (had the shrimp scampi, coconut curry), great cocktails (Cosmo, vodka martini), lively atmosphere, and excellent, fast, attentive service. And really affordable. My first time here. Definitely coming back. I highly recommend.

Service wasn't great. We sat there for about 10 minutes before someone even came over to our table to order drinks. The place was not even busy at the time although there was live music. The majority of tables were empty. We were about to leave when someone finally came over. I ordered an Asian chicken salad and will never order that again.
If you like the big box national chain restaurants you have plenty of options on the outskirts of town. If you want to support downtown, local restaurants your options are more limited. However, limited in number doesn't mean limited in quality. The Green Leaf Grill is reasonably priced and serves good food. On my last visit I had the fish tacos and they were delicious... Highly recommended! Support local merchants.
Went here a few weeks ago with 3 other people. We arrived around 5:30 on a Tuesday and the place was empty and didn't look very impressive, but the food is superb. I had oysters on the half shell, which were large and meaty, their only flaw being that they weren't served in their own brine. The duck and side vegges with brussel sprouts were outstanding, and I also tried some of my friends meals, including the calamari and a fish entree, both of which were equally good. I'm not a huge calamari fan, but theirs was the best I've ever had. My 80 year old father, who has always said he can't stand brussel sprouts, is now reformed after having theirs. Green Leaf is clearly a Waynesboro gem, and by around 7 pm that night, on a Tuesday, there was a line out the door to get in. I'm looking forward to returning soon.
Great menu with lots of choices for entrees and beverages. Our server Justin was very friendly and helpful, Quick service and excellent food. Will return on our next trip.
Incredible place to eat ! We are in town from Pennsylvania for an antique show and were referred by a friend. The gumbo AMAZING, the crab cake sandwich is second to none. My wife had the shrimp tacos and was super happy. Friday nite was a pleasant half hour wait with live music. Everything coming out of that kitchen was photo worthy. This will be our place to eat whenever we are in town. Every staff member was pleasant and very accommodating, working together like a well oiled machine keep up the great work ! Waynesboro is lucky to have such an incredible restaurant
New Orleans comes to Waynesboro!! Man this place has great food. Shrimp and grits, gumbo and the shrimp filled hush puppies are all wonderful. Will be back.
So the food was lovely and the manager really helpful, but after being told three different times that my mother was allergic to tomatoes we had two different meals brought to her with tomatoes. My father also requested no tomatoes and was still in his meal. All in all not a great experience
Excellent service, and amazing food. Reservations are recommended as it gets quite busy during peak hours. It can also get pretty noisy when it is packed. In addition to the great food you expect, they also have an impressive amount of vegetarian and gluten-free choices.
Ordered the tasty kidney bean and corn veggie burger. It arrived in 20 minutes and came with delightfully thin house-made potato chips, sprinkled with a bit of salt and sugar. Nice atmosphere at lunch time. Restroom needed a bit of help (minus a star), but the food was delicious, the staff was friendly and the food arrived quickly. Good experience overall.
Pleasant atmosphere so many great choices on the menu. Crab and chicken taste great but a bit more chunky than expected. Vegetable soup was the best I've had. Cobb salad super size!
Surrounded by Augusta County in downtown Waynesboro is a true gem of a restaurant. Wonderful food, and atmosphere. The staff are fantastic. Chris, the owner, was a delight to talk to. The Green Leaf Grill staff and owner Chris have created something special. It's worth the drive from Richmond just for the food and people there. Go on a Sunday for lunch because thy have an outstanding jazz guitarist. 1 of my 2 fav Restaurants in the Shenandoah Valley and in my top 5 of all time !!!!
They have a large menu of lunch and dinner items as well as a full bar. The service was good and restaurant was clean. We had burgers and paninis and left full and happy.
Met a friend for dinner tonight 3/10 friend loved his flank steak &said sweet potato fries are better than Fish'n Pigs. Spouse said Duck as a bit over cooked but had good flavor and would order again. My oysters were cooked perfectly but the best thing on my plate...asparagus!! I could have made that my entire meal. The only so/so thing was the alligator way to much breading could not taste the meat Our waiter was very attentive without being obtrusive very very good and will look for him next visit. The nicest restaurant in Waynesboro
Food here is always excellent, to me but be prepared to wait especially if you are with a group. Food didn't come out together and I waited forever for a vegetable napoleon. Both steak orders had to be sent back because they weren't cooked as ordered, too rare for my friends.
When we moved to Waynesboro, we were a little hesitant to try Green Leaf because of the very standard menu items. But, everything they do is executed fantastically. It's all the standards done better than anyone else does them. The wait staff are all knowledgable, intelligent , and pleasant to interact with. And all of these things are consistent with every visit.
Nice place, good menu with a variety of dishes to choose. Vegetarian and gluten free options available. Ciders were good. Reasonable prices. Nice ambience.
This place is amazing. Fair warning it is on the pricy side, but well worth the money. Our salads were fresh and nice, they even make their own dressing. I had the stuffed chicken with jasmine rice, my girlfriend had the salmon with jasmine rice also and it was some of the best tasting food ever. Even the sweet tea was outstanding, and I'm real picky about that. We also tried the lemon pie and the whisky cream dessert and they were the best. Our server was nice and attentive, checked on us without being too intrusive.
It's in your best interest to call ahead, and make that reservation, especially on Friday nights (We waited close to an hour)! There was so much to choose from, the spinach salad with salmon won this go round (sorry4 not taking a picture, but by the time it came out, we were thinking with our stomachs and not of pictures). I truly enjoy a well made spinach salad, and this was a tongue pleaser. The Dunker Shrimp were nicely presented, too.
Ambiance was perfect for sitting and talking. Nice music and pleasant service. Food is very good, though not outstanding: steak overcooked, spicing not exceptional. Basic quality good though and shows promise.
There are very few good restaurants to eat in Wayneboro but The Green Leaf Grill is certainly a great choice. The menu selections are good especially for a small town such as this and they are well prepared. The last time I visited the restaurant I ordered the flat iron steak, which came with mashed potatoes and a choice of house or Caesar salad. It was delicious, perfectly done. I had ordered mine rare and my friend had ordered hers medium rare and both were cooked perfectly.
Disappointed. Went for dinner tonight, October 7th and they were supposed to close at 9 pm. My husband had this restaurant planned for over 6 weeks mainly due to the high reviews its received. We arrived and on the door it said they weren t taking any more customers because they ran out of a lot of menu items... what a let down. Was a nightmare trying to find another dinner option and ended up driving to Staunton.
This was a very pleasant unexpected surprise! We just stopped in while driving through town and it was fabulous! The service was wonderful, the food was absolutely delicious. Would love to go back!
The polenta caprese was amazing....burgers and the cream of mushroom soup were damn good too! We stop on the way back from Camp in WVa heading to RVA and we will make it a regular stop!
Definitely 5 stars for the food. Everything was freshly made, delicious!! Staff was very friendly and available for any assistance needed. The restaurant really needs a new makeover but for me matters little when the food is so great.
An absolutely amazing experience all around, the staff was amazing, out food came fast, a surplus of food. The burger was kissed by an angel. With live music and an amazing vibe, it's an experience to remember
This is a really good restaurant. Had their alligator balls as an appetizer and veal breast with mash potatoes and asparagus. The gravy on the veal ribs was great. The next night I tried the gumbo and the crawfish etouffee. Big mistake! This chef has no concept of what a gumbo or an etouffee is basically supposed to be. Etouffee means smothered; this was just green peppers, tomatoes, onions and crawfish in a thin watery sauce over rice. The gumbo was the same way. I suggest they remove these items from their menu and stick to cooking what they are good at.
The prime rib was amazing and my husband had the duck breast and that was cooked perfectly, amazing dinner all around! Gabby is a great server and had great recommendations!
Been here often and always find reliably good food and service. My wife had the Asian Salad with chicken, again, and continues to enjoy the lively flavors. My son and I split a cheese burger and fries which was tasty. They have big cups of good coffee as well as kombucha here too. Moderately priced.
It's easy to see why this place gets a 4.5 stars - stupendous service, great drink menu, and wonderful food. Ask researching veggie friendly places to eat in Waynesboro (there aren't really any) and reading all the wonderful reviews, I decided to try out Green Leaf Grill and see for myself.
Thanks to other Yelp reviews, I went with the Coconut Curry with Tofu. OMG - it's delicious! Reminds me of when I went to Singapore and got this amazing Malaysian curry. The curry was honestly that good at Green Leaf. I know...weird, considering how can an American restaurant make such good Asian food?! The curry is rich and packed with flavor. It's not greasy. I love the tofu bites, perfectly crispy, I devoured them. The portion size is quite generous, I ate about 1/2 and was stuffed! Very tempted to bring home the leftovers.
My fiancee enjoyed the salmon and enjoyed his meal, it was perfectly cooked.
I'm impressed that Green Leaf carries 4 different flavors of Bold Rock cider. My fiancee got the Bold Rock apple and blood orange cider (which is their newest). I got a glass of Pino Noir. We both enjoyed our drinks and the ciders were only $4 each.
The best part of the meal was Destiny, our server. She was so friendly and served our food with a sweet warm smile. I'm glad that I went with her recommendations (the raspberry vinaigrette goes well with the house salad).
Overall, a great meal that didn't break the bank. Will def be back and want to try out more menu items, although not sure if I can pass up that curry.
Not being from Waynesboro, wasn't sure where to grab a nice dinner. Man, this was perfect. Was fairly busy for dinner so sat at the bar, which was fine. Menu has lots of flavorful options. Food was great, very inexpensive, had a live guitarist to make a very smooth and relaxing atmosphere. Great place downtown Waynesboro.
Been here twice with family, it s a nice, relaxed atmosphere. The food has been delicious both times, the servers are always very friendly and the menu has a lot to choose from. My mom said the fish tacos were delish, my husband s po-boy was awesome and my paninis both times were very yummy and filling. The second time we went there was live music, definitely fun on a Sunday afternoon. Will be back soon.
Best place I've been to in Waynesboro. The sweet potato fries (add $1) were amazing with my Reuben. The sole musician playing during the early evening dinner service was great and not so loud as to interfere with conversation.
What an incredible atmosphere. Wonderful experience, live music, great bar and delicious food. This was a great meal all around, not too buy for a Sunday lunch crowd . Altogether great time.
Absolutely wonderful! Friendly and professional service, and reasonable wait time for food despite the place being packed with a line out the door. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal from the appetizers to desserts. I couldn t find one thing to complain about if I tried. Will definitely be back!
Came back into town for the first time in awhile and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food being served here. This stuff is the bomb dot com. I wish I would've known about this place before moving halfway across the country, but definitely going to make a tradition out of having a nice dinner here whenever I'm visiting family. The beer list here is also very discriptive and the selection is amazing in my opinion. Thanks for the awesome service and good memories :)
Consistently tasty American food. This isn't top-notch fine dining, but the staff are friendly and the service is quick and pleasant. Typically good variety on the menu, with yummy specials and mainstays.
Dining experience and atmosphere was decent. Which is where the 2 stars come from. Salad was molded, tomatoes were molded. Pre cut steak with buttery garlic sauce was cold. Literally our steak tasted old, like someone dethawed it three days earlier and the sauce would make you want to vomit. They cooked me another steak medium well that had a brown gravy sauce poured over the top of it and it was warm, but the texture and flavor of the meat was old like it had been sitting out for days.
