Came after hiking 8 miles of Shenandoah and we were seated, provided with excellent service and delicious food all very quickly. We ordered the chicken and crab gumbo, mussels, stuffed chicken, and bacon wrapped scallops and it was all so excellent. What a great chef, we will definitely be coming back if we're in the area

Great setting, servers and layout. Now the food. We ordered ribeye, crabcakes and kids steak. Ribeye was $24 so I was thinking it was a good cut. It looked like a waffle house cut, maybe 10oz. It was seasoned heavy and had gravy on it which I am guessing to hide the quality. Kids 4oz was $11. It was the tough part cut off of of an already bad cut of meat. Kid couldn't even chew 2 peices so there went 2 oz. Fries for kids were seasoned to heavy for my kid. Most kids like plain fries right? Walked out $66 dollars lighter and liked the atmosphere, but our food was not worth going back for.

This place is simply great. We were waited as soon as we sat down. The appetizer didn't take that long to come out and it was delicious. We had the calamari. It was good. My son had the shrimp and grits and it looked delicious. I had the potato crusted fish with green beans and rice. It was delicious. The fish was fresh. The salads were also really good. The ambience of the place is good and there was live music. Overall, it is good.

Friendly service, fair prices, good effort on the food. A decent menu assortment and probably one of the nicer restaurants in town. Just nothing that special or memorable. Very nice service.

Excellent find while traveling. Has the menu of a high end restaurant, while maintaining the service and ambiance of a local dive. The food was very well presented and cooked just right. Service was great, thanks to a very attentive waitor. I would highly recommend ths gem to anyone.

Edit 5/10/2018, the review I posted before is not visible, it has been reposted below.

I came here with my girlfriend for a birthday getaway. It was later in the evening but still fairly busy.

The staff:
The staff were very polite. We were seated quickly and our waitress took our orders promptly.

The venue:
Fairly nice, live music and decent lighting. The booth we were seated in was falling apart though, very rickety.

The food:
We originally ordered the stuffed chicken breast and the lamb rack with a side of oysters. After several minutes our waitress returned and informed us they were out of lamb. No big deal, I ordered the grilled salmon. Several minutes the waiter returned again "we are out of salmon". At this point it felt like we were trapped in a Weird Al song and all I was going to get was a box of half starved crazed weasels. I ordered the duck instead.

When the food came, we were shocked by the portion sizes, and the stark presentation, and not in a good way. Portions were small, and it looked like they had slapped the chicken and duck on a plate with the sides, while blindfolded. When it came to eating it, it was not much better. The chicken was very dry and the stuffing had very little flavor. The duck was just duck, it was average and nothing spectacular. The oysters were very small, and for the price, very disappointing. The sides (we asked for spinach instead of fries) was over salted and had a very strong seasoning that overwhelmed everything (Old Bay maybe? MSG?). The salads were OK.

Summary:
When we walked in we did not know what to expect. The restaurant has many good reviews, so it had to be decent right? Wrong. The Green Leaf Grill is a sad representation of Cajun food and a disgrace to southern food in general. The mediocre quality of food served here coupled with the exorbitant prices is exceedingly disappointing.

To give you perspective, we stopped at a gas station after leaving and got some cheese and beef jerky (because we were both still hungry), which not only tasted better but was also cheaper and of better quality than Green Leaf.

Take the extra 20 minutes and drive to a restaurant that will serve you a decent meal, and will have the ingredients for what is on the menu.

Let me begin by saying the customer service was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant. To many, this is all that is necessary for a satisfying experience. However, in my case, the food was mediocre. The mushroom Swiss burger I received was almost tasteless and the "house made chips" tasted like they were accidentally burned (there are large salt and pepper shakers on the tables for a reason). I cannot speak for other items on the menu but if you're looking for a decent burger, try tailgate grill nearby. I imagine vegetarian food may be their specialty. If that is what you are after then don't be discouraged by this review.

One of the better place to eat in the area. Good food and pleasant staff. Higher end restaurant. The only thing keeping it from 5 Stars is consistency. We have had occasions where the service took approximately 45 minutes, even when we were the first group to arrive. Overall good food.

Always friendly service, varied menu of apps, salads, sandwiches, entrees. Gluten-free and vegetarian options available. Food is terrific...homemade potato chips! Local brews and full bar, daily drink specials. *Love* the flourless chocolate cake!

If you're looking for great food that's always prepared with great care, look no further. Food is well seasoned and the service is quite fine. The menu is plentiful and you should find something for everyone in the family. In fact, we did see people of all ages, many of whom were visiting from out of town. It's a simple setup but tasteful with art hanging from the walls. It's somewhat small, so you may have a wait on weekends of up to 30 mins.

This place is SO GOOD!!! Highly recommend. Service was great, the live music was beautiful and relaxing. We got the red pepper hummus app and it was perfection with crispy pita bread - for dinner we had the coconut curry with chicken and the sesame tuna and both were so good. The curry was unreal, flavorful. And we are food snobs ! Had a wonderful experience and ate the leftovers for breakfast.

They never seem to have a bad thing on the menu. We always come here when we re in town. They always have nice waiters/waitresses and fast service even with a full house. We always come in with at least 5 people and everything is always perfect! I wish I could give them 10 starts! Our plates were all amazing! Even the kids menu was great!

Called first to make sure they were still serving since the restaurant would be closing in an hour, once we arrived it took 15 minutes to get seated, the hostess needed to clean the tables and there was 5 free, we were seated and we patiently waited for a server to show up, 10 minutes went by, 15 minutes went by, during this time we were passed multiple times by several servers, the hostess finally noticed we hadn t received drinks and still had our menus. I overheard her tell a waitress then that we were her table, she exclaimed she didn t know, although she had walked by our table a couple of times, the restaurant was NOT busy, most of the customers had finished eating. After hearing this we got up and walked out, never been so disappointed with the lack of customer service ever. All I had wanted was to have a nice Mother s Day dinner at a local place I hadn t eaten at before. I will NOT go back this place clearly is disorganized, improperly run and bad customer service.

They really need to update their website and Google, which said they were open. We were excited to eat there last night only to learn they are still closed for COVID-19. We drove out of our way to get there since my wife is vegetarian. Very frustrating.

The spinach and artichoke dip was delicious! French onion soup was excellent! And the roast beef special was also very good. Unfortunately the Pepsi was out, and thats the only thing I can complain about. Amanda was our server, and she did an awesome job! I will definitely be back...and we will ask for Amanda to be our server again!

My wife and myself eat here a couple times a month for the past year and have yet to have one entree or appetizer we didn t enjoy. The staff has always been accommodating and professional. Our Valentine s Day dinner here was fantastic, they had us a table within 15 minutes of one of the busiest dinners of the year. We love the music player by the gentleman with the guitar. Whenever family comes to visit us, we make share to take them to Green Leaf.

This is the best local restaurant in Waynesboro, hands down. Menu is outstanding and quality is fantastic: we have been many times and had many appetizers and entree dishes and every one was great. Believe the good reviews.

Dave and I have eaten here many times. The owner and chef, worked at the Commanders Palace in New Orleans, so if you like gumbo, red bean and rice or drunken shrimp you will love this place. And for dessert, save room for peanut butter pie made fresh every day.

This place is a GEM! We are from out of town and looking to try something special while we were in Waynesboro. The Green Leaf was
the perfect pick. Their menu was reasonably priced plus diverse, our waiter Patrick was Awesome (very friendly & super @ his job), and when the food came out it was Wonderful. We didn't have to wait in line but noticed the line kept getting longer just before we left; if it were me, its worth the wait. Wish we lived closer, it'd be a Favorite spot. And if we are
ever back this way we will be sure to stop in.

My husband had pulled pork, and his complaint was the pork portion was small (and it was VERY small) with lots of mediocre fries; they forgot his hushpuppies and when he asked about them they flashed fried them, they were charred on the outside and semi warm on the inside. I had the coconut curry and it was amazing. We both had kombucha, which was priced kinda high at 5$ a bottle. The waitress was very nice and friendly but we only saw her 4 times from walking in to paying our bill.

We had reservations for 14 last night (New years Eve) and could not have expected more. Our waitress Erin did an awesome job taking care of all our needs. My compliments to the chef for excellent shrimp and grits, perhaps the best I have ever had. Everyone in our group was very pleased with their food choices and with the great service. We will definitely be back.
