The recent (summer 2018) renovations are very nice. We watched one of the science shows this time, for the first time. It was a lot of fun. There is so much to see and to do, you can easily spend an entire day here but I'd recommend breaking it up into multiple visits because it can be overwhelming.

The Great Lakes Science Center is a lot of fun for both kids and adults. Lots of fun activities, live experiments, and education. There are good things for almost all ages. Only thing they need to strive for is changing things up a little more often on the main floors so locals coming often have some more fresh things to see, otherwise it would be perfect!

It was ok some of the exibits could use updating and fixed. It was fun but probably will not return regularly. It is additional to park in the garage. I would say the older the children the less fun it would be.

Just going through the entry area is neat and educational. Seems like there would be a lot of fun stuff to do here. (just walked through from the parking garage to the nearby Rock & Roll Hall of Fame)

The whole building is full of displays and movies. But if you have children the second floor is wonderful. There are many, many hands-on displays. My grandchildren have visited numerous times and still try all the hands-on. For the younger crowd, 6 and under, there is their own special area including the ball pit (see photo) with buckets they can fill with balls that travel up a line to dump into a larger container. When full the container dumps the balls fall back down on the kids. There is a suction pipe that blows the balls up to the container. The outside water tables add to the fun.

I love going here but its not to often just because they don't change things alot. So we go every 2-3 years. If theres someone you know who hasn't seen it (even if its an adult) they will love it!

The great lakes science center is THE place for young people and people in general to learn about the exciting advances and phenomena that science unearths in its various discoveries. It also happens to be the place where most science fairs happen. It's legitimately a fun place to be if you have the time. Well worth it!

I really wish the open hours were a wee bit longer, but I guess you can't have everything. Make sure you check the website for all the extra presentations and demonstrations they host on top of their regular and seasonal displays.

Some parts are stellar but the place seems run down. Lots of stuff being held together by tape. Staff was curteous and friendly. Would like to see more exhibits and better organization. Patrons should consider donating to help with maintence as it is severely needed.

Some new exhibits, LOTS of good classic science museum exhibits, also kids play areas, kept a 3, 6 and 8 year old more than busy for over 3 hours. Staff were pleasant and museum was clean.

We had a company function at the Science Center. We had some issues with the catering company and was promplty contacted by the Science Center. I feel assured everything will be resolved and very grateful that I was contacted right away. I'm looking forward to resolutions and our family will continue to be loyal Science Center members.

Large, multi-floored and themed across many interesting subjects of the sciences, the Great Lakes Science Center continues to interest me and my children after several repeat trips. As a result, we have a membership now, and plan to go even more often.

Even when we think we have seen everything, there is usually a new traveling exhibit to entertain for an hour or so. My 3 and a half year old and I have been going since before his one year old brother was born, and will continue to do so.

The only downside is how loud and crowded some of the atria and separate exhibits can get, if you are unlucky enough to share the museum with a large school group (which is often,) but we were all that age once too.

Convenient parking and access to the Shoreway nearby have not been diminished, even with the recent highrise development and renovation in the downtown area.

As a photographer, it's always a pleasure to work at Great Lakes Science Center! They have a beautiful space for events and do a great job of planning and coordinating each detail. Image by Jennifer Elizabeth Photography

Some great exhibit. Pitching (measure the speed of the ball), floating balloon with Bernoulli principle, and nano iron fluids we're all great example. However, my daughter is hooked on guided tour. The closest thing for a science museum is probably a demo, however I only observed one booth set up on a Saturday morning. The museum can do a little more demonstration with a live body to answer questions from more inquisitive minds.

This was a great experience for the whole family! The military discount was greatly appreciated. There were so many things to experiment with and learn from. My eight year old brother has sever adhd and some sensory issue but this layout provided him with the ability to go at his own pace! We paid about 7 dollars for parking about a quarter mile down the road so the walk wasn't bad.

Fantastic Place right on the lake with tons of stuff for kids to explore, learn, and of course play. Love the location and layout.
Some exhibits could use some updating but overall good value. Highly recommended
