This is a great port for many reasons! There are gorgeous views, and many shops and restaurants near by. The best thing is the beach is completely free, including lounge chairs and umbrellas. It was great lounging with an incredible view of the beautiful water and the ship. Very unique port. It also has monuments documenting the splash down of John Glenn and the Mercury missions.

First of if the island is unpopulated that means there are no people sir.
The island is Owen by Carnival Cruise Corp. They bought a lease of the historic national lighthouse that beings to the people. The developed the cruise port and charge outrageous fee to dock other cruise liners. Hence RC used to go there but no now. Carnival build a huge welcome center halfway down the island and charge outrageous fees to rent a spot it sits empty. Carnival has manipulates the government so as to run the flea marketers out of business making it near illegal to run one. Nearly all expeditions on 4 wheelers and ATC are carnival controlled thanks to the goverment bribery. Luckly the corrupt government that allowed this is not operating and new officials are legally gaining back the countries national treasures and pride. Not all seems as it is. Forgo the cruise recommended trips when in a foreign country try a local tour and or taxi to learn abit of the history. Enjoy and be safe.

This port was fun. We went to Margaritaville while here. The atmosphere is upbeat and fun. The food was ok and the drinks were good. We loved the games and music they played. The pool was huge and fun.

Nice location for a summer day. The beach with sand is not to big. A lot of rocks in the water but the ocean water is gorgeos. The weather is very good almost all the year and you can find some pubs with good drinks and good music who makes e very good athmosphere and a very pleasant time to spent.

This is based on my arrival at Carnival port. Beautiful island surrounded by crystal clear water. Port with Dufry shop, Ron Jon's, the largest Margaritaville restaurant, jewelry, clothing, crafts and souvenir stores. Plenty of excursions from historical to adventurous. Beaches on both sides of the port. It costs to go to the left beach but the right side is free. The left side has dozens of tables, chairs and umbrellas. The right side is less crowded with free lounge chairs and chair cabanas. Waiters serve food and drinks on the left side. There is a tiki bar on the right side, bathrooms and outdoor shower. The right side water is over a large rock shelf with deep holes. Wear water shoes and progress carefully when entering the water. It is safier to enter close to the pier. The left side is much less rocky. Plus, a pack of friendly stray dogs shows up every time a ship docks to get some belly rubs and free food.

Beautiful beaches and island, from what I saw. We shopped at first and then enjoyed tanning/snorkeling at the beach. If I were to return, I would book some sort of excursion so I could see what else the island has to offer!

Our waitress at margaritaville was horrible. She was more worried about talking the the other staff then taking care of us. Our nachos came out before our drinks and it was someone else that brought the nachos. We finally got our drinks and she never came back to check on us. I go up to the bar and get another beer myself. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves. Beautiful water.

The Cruise Center on the Grand Turkish Island is a spectacular place (when a cruise arrives, otherwise there is no movement, all shops are closed, the advantage is that you have the entire beach without tourists. The only way to get there is with a taxi (which charges between 4 to 5 USD per person).

Beautiful. Parent's of teens and young adults beware, I had 4 with me under 20 that were offered party favors in clear small plastic bags. They "believed" that it was marijuana laced with cocaine. We loved pour visit here, just be safe!

Nice port but the island is still being developed so skip running around it and stick to the real beauty which is the beach. We rented a Jeep for the day and had it back within an hour. Power goes out on the island a lot and you will be lucky to find a grocery store, google maps is not correct for the business on the island. We figured we would run around but it's so small if you blink you'll miss it. Oh and be careful while driving donkeys run wild and will sit right in the middle of the road. The strange part is that you see signs everywhere that state this land donated by Carnival. We were taking a guess that they owned most of the land and are trying to turn it into an island of their own. I would expect the bigger more populated islands in the Turks would be a much better place to visit.

Love how close the two ships are docked beside each other. Free beach upon stepping off. Not much to do in Grand Turk besides head to the historic lighthouse so you're better off enjoying it on the beach, doing water sports and some shopping within the port
