The little portion of beach was crowded with umbrella and barely anywhere to stand on the sand. My son doesn't like going into the water... he spends most of the time running from the waves when we go to the beach but here he couldn't because there was so little to even walk. We ended up going back to the ship and didn't even get a chance to check out the pool.

Free beach at the end of the pier. Beware of the massive seaweed. Found a keychain with a nail clipper and bottle opener. Lovely pool to swim in on the easy back to the ship. I'll definitely be returning to this port. And got a passport stamp!

Very pretty cruise port full of souvenir shops (very overpriced), restaurants, live music, and quick access to the gorgeous beach. Choose from tons of excursions or go snorkeling right off the shore in the swimming area! The vendors are a bit pushy but friendly and it's so pretty here you won't mind.

Stopover on a P&O cruise. Don't need to purchase an excursion here - just get off the ship early and grab a couple of deckchairs on the beach. Stunning locations, both on the beach and in the cruise centre pool area where I enjoyed a proper American burger and fries. Deeelish! Nice to see the crew get off and have a great time too. Thank you P&O. Thank you Grand Turk.

The island gets its name from the cacti that grow there. Even though it is the largest of the numerous Turk islands, it is so flat. According to locals, the highest elevation is probably about 20 meters high. And that seems to be the local dump. Otherwise you can do a lot here. Diving, snorkeling, water sports, visiting Stingray City in the clear blue bay. And there is, I think, a breeding farm for turtles.

The place is charming. But the shops are what I call tourist traps.
The "deals" on watches are ridiculous ... we pay the same and sometimes even cheaper on Amazon even considering the taxes. For jewelry, we must also be careful because some pieces are advertised and sold for several thousand dollars above the list price displayed by manufacturers directly.

Everything here is owned by the cruise liners. It's very similar to every Carnival Cruise port with the exact same shops, the same touristy items (swim trunks, bikinis, location related t shirts, sun block, and jewelry), and the same bars. It doesn't reflect any local culture.

WOW - Grand Turk did such a great job of cleaning up the Cruise Terminal in record time after Hurricane Season this year. When we arrived they were planting new trees, but the water was back to being blue and beautiful and everything was cleaned up. The shops are open and in full force and the port itself has places to swim right off of the dock. The water was perfect and there were lots of things to see right in the port (like the Apollo landing museum and the giant whale). Definitely would visit again.
