Great location for travellers. Surrounded by shopping, eateries and walking distance from theater district. Nice lobby and staff.
Great location for travellers. Surrounded by shopping, eateries and walking distance from theater district. Nice lobby and staff.
As luxurious as it is, it is already showing some age, and could be better maintained
Loved staying here. Nice facility and great restaurants. Excellent location to all the nice tourist attractions.
I stayed in the Grand Hyatt in Manhattan over late December until the first days in January in a King sized deluxe room.
For a hotel in NYC, the Grand Hyatt is disappointing. During our stay, which admittedly, was a little unlucky, we had 2 false alarm fire drills late at night during winter months and weren't offered a word of apology by the hotel. They could have offered us a free night in the hotel or something as small as some chocolates on the pillows the next morning as an apology but we were given nothing which left a bad taste in my mouth.
As for the rooms, they are a reasonable size. I understand that NYC is an expensive place and needs to be a little smaller than most, so I accept that. The bathrooms are quite small, coming from London, that's saying something. The window had very little view and was quite small but also collected condensation on the inside when closed which resulted in the wall paper peeling. They are also single glazed windows so you can constantly hear the noise of the streets, which in the first few nights is great, but starts to affect your sleep afterwards. Our mini bar was not stocked and we had to specially request a coffee maker for the room.
In addition to the above, we waited ages for access to the concierge due to the queue. The business centre uses outdated software on their computers and charges an arm and a leg for ten minutes of usage. They run out dated versions of Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox which wouldn't let us print our tickets because they were extremely slow and not advanced enough to open PDF files. Again, after complaining, received no word of apology or compensation for the inconvenience.
Avoid the room service at all costs, the food is average at best and is ridiculously expensive. Our stay at this Grand Hyatt wasn't worth the money at all. I guess when you want to stay at a hotel with a name like this, you expect quality but you'll be able to get a similar experience for less money at a 3 star hotel or something similar to a Holiday Inn.
Very nice building, good staff, great location (right next to Grand Central), but very easy to get lost in on first visit.
This is one of the most beautiful centrally located hotels Ive ever stayed in. The lobby is gorgeous, the Regency club is so amazing and offers a great outdoor space to dine in and relax on. The rooms were so comfortable. The location couldnt be more convenient. Love.
Very good value for its price.
Very clean and spacious rooms with modern look.
Friendly employees greet you and willing to help you with any problem you have.
Various amenities available to ease your travel.
Located right next to Grand Central Terminal but very quiet and window blind can block any light from outside.
From my personal experience, early check-in was possible.
An excellent venue for the BlackBerry Security Summit. The hotel was excellent. The staff was excellent. A very well run event and hotel.
Convenience is good, the rooms are clean and the price is reasonable. The steak at the hotel restaurant was better than going out to eat outside.
Although a four star hotel but I have 5+. Here, business class meets first-class. Hotel modern and chic. The rooms are well maintained and very large and spacious (standard room with queen bed: entrance, walk-in More
Excellent location next to Grand Central, I really like the decoration of the hotel, each space harmonizes with the environment. The rooms are not very big but they are cozy and pleasant, the attention is very good.
Accommodations are nice and location is ideal and easy access to Grand Central subway options. Staff is accommodating. Quality of toiletry products in bathroom could use improvement.
Stayed for just one night but I was impressed by how beautiful and well located is the hotel. The crew is really helpful.
Room was nice, but small bathroom. That's the reason I did give 5 star
The Grand Hyatt Hotel is a hotel located at Grand Central. It is minutes away from Times Square at the west side and the rooms are less than two hundred dollars a night. This is a good hotel to stay if you love the sightseeing in the east side.
Rooms well furnished, spacious but above all clean. Numerous spaces offered by the structure for conferences or ceremonies. The convenience store inside the structure is very convenient! High quality but also the price it is!
The staff is rude and there are hidden destination fees listed in the fine print. Those free credits you get every day are not free. You pay for them per day and the WiFi also isn t free.
I was in my hotel three nights to sleep two hours a night and shower for pride and that s it. I never used any credits or used the WiFi or used 20% off a tour.
Spoke with management and they wouldn t refund me the extra charges even though I used nothing, because it was listed in the fine print. I will NEVER stay here again. Absolutely ridiculous, rude, and deceitful. They never even sent me a final bill.
Very nice hotel. I would call this a 4-star hotel. High-end, but not the Ritz. The location is fabulous and the aging lobby, while dated, is still attractive. Lovely views of the city from the higher vantage areas.
Busy street. Great location but beds are not good. They sink down.
Hotel that lives up to its name, great for conferences and for visits to the heart of New York.
Located beside Grand Central Station it is very close to the main attractions of the city.
Price often challenging, services and staff up to a great Hyatt
Not what I expected from a GRAND Hyatt. I was expecting old world charm. Too modern and like a hospital. Don't use the business center.... Room was worn.
One of the best Hotel in new york i considered
Value for money glad that I choose that Hotel to stay
Love it
This is a beautiful hotel with very nice rooms. I love all the statues as you walk in. I went on a Model UN trip for school and I definitely would go again.
The lobby was very beautiful and there's free WiFi in the lobby. It's a comfortable place to stay to do some work
Location: great if you are taking subway. Walking distance to Times Square. Crazy traffic due to the Grand Central station. If you want to be near Central Park, then this is not ideal. Smelly near the station too!
Service: hit and miss. Some staff members are friendly, some act like they would rather be somewhere else!!
Room Service: Stingy with towels and amenities, dusty tables
Rooms: quite roomy, nice wardrobe, did not like glass doors in the bathroom!
Nice, but unsupervised fitness center, no mats!
Would I come back again: NO
Did not stay overnight but attended an event and had some drinks. The bar is awesome, it overhangs 42 street. Hotel is in a prime location in Manhattan
Just great rooms might seem small but lots of storage place and customer service
Good service and very handy and good location but little pricey.good rooms.recommended if u get good deals
i really like this place, it has a very good location and a very good service
Really great location, clean and very cozy rooms!
Recommended!!!
Located next to Grand Central Station, it is convenient to walk around New York. It is a feeling that said the room is neither good nor bad. It was with breakfast, but was surprised at quantity.
Overall a great hotel. I wish the room was updated.
Location was amazing - literally a block from Grand Central and a walk over to Rockafellar Center. The hotel was nice - very quiet, upscale wine bar in the lobby and gorgeous decor! Highly recommend.
Exceptionally well located right at the center of Manhattan. Reasonably priced.

Nice rooms. Great location in midtown! You can walk to almost all main attractions. And it is in the same block as Grand Central Station.
The staff was very helpful and the valet parking is definitely worth it. After driving to different parking lots they ended up cheaper and more convenient. The only thing that I wish was there was a pool. It being next grand central made life a lot easier. The rooms were clean and quite
Very nice and centric hotel. Cleanliness is a big letdown. Our room was spacious and modern but was full of dust. It was very evident on the lamp shades and bed endtables. I thought housekeeping would clean or wipe it down only to find it again in the evening. On the last day we realized how full of filth the a/c vent was. Explained why we had not slept well (allergies) and perhaps the accumilation of dust everywhere. To top it all off, the hot water came out of the faucet very cloudy/milky. Hopefully it was a chemical reaction like Google explained......
The awesome guys in the little market in the lobby deserve 5 stars!
Not very Grand Hyatt like at all. No doorman, had 3 large bags and it is raining. Just checked in, walked in room, it is very dirty/grimey. The hallways are dirty. There is makeup on pillows and they reek of sweat, room is dirty, bathroom floors are gross, bathroom sink is cracked. I feel gross staying here which I usually never feel. Just not what a Grand Hyatt should be, very disappointed and will not be staying here again. The Carvi boutique hotel is not near on the level Hyatt is but the hotel is 10x nicer than this Hyatt. Just learned that this hotel is being torn down in 2020, that explains everything!
Convenient with direct connection to glass The correspondence of the mail room was also kind.
When you pay that much of dollars for one night, you expect a great room and a great service. They really do have one nice room and lobby, and even the location. However, they have poor service that you'll receive at some kind of inn or motel. You wouldn't get treated like this with that much of price at any other hotel near it. If you want to be treated as much as you pay, find somewhere else. There are plenty of great hotels in NYC. I won't stay here even if it is $1 a night.
Right next to Grand Central and a few minutes from Times Square. Super convenient!
Loved my experience at Grand Hyatt. Besides the fact that it allows 18+ people to book, it was a great experience. We were in between two well-known landmarks, the Chrysler building and grand central station. The walks to times square were literally straight ahead and under 15mins. Checkout & check in process was really easy. Rooms were cozy. Everything was great. Also, their interior decor is beautiful! Very modern and businesslike. Don't think I'd ever stay at any other hotel than Grand Hyatt the next time I come to manhattan.
The venue is great and easy to get to, as it located right next to the Grand Central Terminal. The lounge access is well worth your money as it provides a decent array of snacks and breakfast items to pay for itself. The room and quality of arrangements did leave quite a bit to be desired. Layout was at time awkwards, and furniture (ottoman) we're broken and literally tied together with twist ties and a few similar pull through plastic cords (which fell apart when something with decent weight was placed on it). Service was ok, but wasn't overly customer focused but more business driven in that it felt like it was more of a quick process in, quick process out, instead of trying to accommodate guest needs.
Location and lobby is very good. Rooms and bathrooms are outdated. The mattress is really awful!
Seriously do not stay here. I had high expectations since it s the Hyatt and I stayed at Hyatt in other cities but this was the worst. The room was small, bathroom barely fitted one person. They didn t have the normal stuff (slippers kettle etc), u have to ask and wait forever for them to bring. Their bed was not suitable for the cold. I woke up freezing, couldn t turn the aircon up and the only blanket they had was like a sheet the thickness of a towel. I called them to let them know I needed a blanket since I was freezing and couldn t sleep. It took them a whole hour before they brought something over, and guess what, it s the towel like sheet again. Do not stay here if you don t want to freeze. The man at the front desk was also extremely rude. The checkout time was 11, where standard New York hotels was 12. This hotel really makes u feel like they r taking as many shortcuts as possible to save money. It feels cheap and I would never stay here again. The checkout desk only had one person and he was doing tour bookings and stuff as well. OMG it took me hours to literally just checkout. Worse experience ever!!! You would have to pay for me to stay here!!!
Excellent location. Not very good cleaning, clean and change the towel and linen every day, but in hard to reach places (behind taps, etc.) is dirty.
Beautiful facilities and Grand location. My only disappointment is the General Store in the lobby, poor service with inflated prices but you get a credit daily with your Resort Fee so it balances out.
Good hotel in center of Manhattan but the rooms especially the bathroom are a bit old.
The room over the street are very very noisy until late.
When I was there, there was work on the street with a jackhammer until after midnight.
Very nice overall. The room is a little smaller than other similar Hyatt's, but the location is excellent.
Excellent location and very spacious room. A luxury
Updated Review :
We love having "Stay-cation" within our home city aka The Big Apple This is a review we are doing on Grand Hyatt New York after having few stay experiences. I do believe having a Diamond/Globalist status does help however we have seen a hit/miss when staying at this property.
I bring my family quite often and at times I have had issues where the hotel has run out of "slippers" and other times I would need to make a few calls just to get something delivered to the room. However, I consider this to be a "First World Problem".
Location: You will not get a better hotel than Grand Hyatt NY when it comes to its location. It's literally on top of Grand Central Terminal (Historic Station) and can allow you to travel throughout the city without any issues. This is most liked during the time of extreme cold or hot weather.
Check-In Experience: It varies depending on the time and day - sometimes we breeze through the World of Hyatt line and sometimes it can take 30min to check-in, however, the staff are quite friendly every time we have checked into the hotel.
Rooms: We have stayed from Basic Standard room to Executive Suite and you will see wear & tear because the hotel is OLD and although they try certain rooms can give you a feel of staying at a motel. The suites are also in need of major renovation.
The Grand Lounge/Breakfast: The lounge is great because it offers you free hot and cold beverages throughout the day for free its operating hours are 6 am - 9:30 pm. However the Breakfast and Evening snacks are nice because it's free, but for people like us who consume only halal meat - the options become very limited When the weather is nice - the lounge has a huge deck which offers the great view of the city building while enjoying a nice cup of chai.
Overall - we will come again and stay mainly because of NISHA JOHN - we have had many issues before but since Nisha has become our go-to person when booking our stay - the experience went from Horrible to Amazing Hyatt is truly lucky to have someone like her, she is one of the main reason why I love booking my stays at Grand Hyatt NY.
It truly was a pleasant stay I have ever had in the city (the only other one better than this was Park Hyatt).
Wonderful service and most convenient location in midtown
The place is huge and the lobby is really nice. It was really annoying though because I had to wait for my friend to come all the way downstairs to get me since you needed a key card to use the elevator.
Room was alright. No clock, no pen, shower was a regular tub and shower combo, and shower curtain was moldy. The room was pretty clean save some hair in the bathroom. There is a high tech light switch that takes several taps to work.
I didn't interact with the staff much. The front desk was efficient but not friendly.
Windows didn't block noise very well. Loud nighttime construction on 42nd - I listened to a jackhammer all night.
A favorite hotel in NY. Always remember meeting Jesse Jackson in the lobby.
The rooms, stayed twice, were small and very bare, needed decorations. The concierge room staff not welcoming, one actually yelled at us to get out, they were closed. They actually closed a bit early on 4th of July. Asking 4 butter looked like imposition. Food not very good for evening service. This room should have 24 hour access. Often oversold. Recommend abilty to view menu so as to decide if worth it. Grateful they offered diet pepsi. Selzer water locked up with the alcohol. Not worth extra cost. On a positive note, great location, outstanding pillows and mattress. Staff in market helpful and kind. Early check in and late check out very helpful and we were grateful for both.
Sponsored by company to stay at the place. Really comfortable, and location in the city is the biggest plus. Apart from that, it does the job of a nice hotel stay..
