The staff is abominably rude. I had a room booked in June with the city view, but upon arrival was told it was not ready. I arrived in NYC at 6pm, and check in time was at 3pm. I was told to wait for an hour and they'd call me to notify me when my room would be ready. At this point, I was incredibly disappointed that a hotel room that was booked and paid for a month in advance was not ready yet, especially 3 hours after check in. After the hour was up, I was told they did not have any rooms available at all. Honestly, the lack of professionalism, punctuality and rude customer service is enough to convince me to never book a Hyatt establishment in my life.

The hotel is pretty nice, but it's very hard to find a place to park. Especially don't park in front of the hotel, they charge you 60 dollars for 1-6 hours, and 70 dollars beyond. I was there during thanksgiving and there are a lot of people, but the lobby is huge.

I was in town for business. The hotel room had partical board peeling up in the bathroom by the sink which also had mold. Was expecting just a bit more for what I paid. In addition I later found the mattress had no protector, just the sheet! Woke up with mysterious bites on my hands that itched like crazy the morning after my stay.i wish there was a way to attach pictures because I took them because I was in disbelief. BE ADVISED BEFORE YOUR STAY.

On the positive side the hotel is clean, is a beautiful facility and is located very conveniently next to Grand Central Station.

That is pretty much the end of the good part.

The service staff here couldn't possibly care less about service. I won't bore you with all the issues that went unresolved but here are a few highlights.

The service we received during our stay was at the level you would expect from a Best Western or Motel 6 in the middle of nowhere. 1st, they are doing construction on 2 sides of the hotel. The driver the hotel sent to pick us up couldn't figure out where he should drop us off so he just pulled over at a corner and told us we would have to walk down the block to an entrance.

Bellman were not available to help with luggage when we checked in. So we got a luggage cart to take our bags to the the 25th floor and were told the hotel didn't allow the carts to be used by patrons, only by bell staff. Only the bell staff weren't available to take our luggage. It was a really weird Catch 22 situation. Regardless, we took the cart and got our things to the room.

I had some equipment delivered to the hotel for use during our conference. Hotel staff wouldn't take delivery of it so I could pick it up later. My wife had to meet the delivery guy in the lobby. Thank goodness the delivery guy was willing to take the equipment to our room because the bell staff wouldn't.

Even though we booked well in advance the king room we had paid for was not available for our first night. We took a queen, no problem. The next day we were given a king room but had to move our own luggage to the new room ourselves. At check out we were charged for the king room for all 4 nights.

This review may sound like I am someone who is hard to please but I promise you that isn't the case. I rarely complain about service because I know how hard the job is. But I at least expect to be treated with respect and the people who are the face of a company should be doing their best to make sure customers receive a level of service meets minimal expectations.

here's a hint for all you bottom feeders looking for freebies and add-ons: upgrade to the Club Level. You will experience a round the clock private club with FREE food, appies, and drinks. None of the riff raff (like you) that plague the lobby complaining about this and that.
Service is devine, and well worth the extra cost.

Magnificent hotel in the center of New York, atteccato the central station is just across the Crysler (you could see it from the room). It serves breakfast, but inside you will find a mini market at which you will have $ 15 free shopping day. very comfortable and clean.

I stayed here for twelve nights whilst on a business trip, more for the location than anything else because I needed easy access to the subway to be able to get to Queens and my company's travel agent gave me very few options. The room was a decent size, but unfortunately the bathroom was tiny, with only a shower with a very basic showerhead. Complementary water was also not offered, and I was instead invited to pay an extortionate $4.90 for a litre in the shop in the hotel lobby.

My stay was during an unusually hot period (40 degrees celsius), but most nights I woke up extremely hot. It seems that the air conditioning system shuts off overnight when there is no movement in the room. Also, on a number of days, the housekeeping staff had turned the temperature up during the day so that by the time I returned, the room was warm and it took 15 minutes or so to cool down.

On the final night, I came back to my room to find a notice that there would be no hot water from 10pm until 6am the following morning due to repairs to the hot water supply. Unfortunately, this carried on until gone 7:45 the following morning, so that my shower was freezing cold. On checkout, I received no sympathy and when I asked if there was somewhere to store my bags, and was promptly asked for $3, plus when I asked for somewhere to change out of my suit into casual clothes for the long transatlantic flight home, I was offered the gents' toilets. Wonderful. Not what you expect for a business hotel. In conclusion, this hotel offered me a bed to sleep in for the night, and nothing more. If I weren't paying for this myself, I would be able to find much better for the money.

Great location, right next to grand central station. The hotel is big and common areas are well kept. Staff is very friendly and the rooms for (professional) events are great. The room was nice but not really clean. It smelled a little, so we were somewhat disappointed. Everything else was great.

Was clean and convenient. Mini fridge but no coffee maker, no bag for laundry, room was small, Ac wasn't the best. Not worth the money but still really nice and clean. Being clean was the most important to me. 5 stars for that.

The Hyatt is a great hotel. I'd stay there again. The good -- Great location. It's easy walking distance to Times Sq, Rockefeller center, and easy train downtown. The staff was helpful and polite. The nightly price was good. The rooms were big for NYC. And, most importantly, quiet. The bad: The lobby is connected to GCS, so there's LOTS of foot traffic. You almost feel like you're in the terminal. Hence, there's no real place to relax downstairs (unless you want to do it with hundreds of people). If they redesigned the lobby, it could be wonderful. Food at the hotel is overpriced...even for NYC. They messed up my reservation the first night, but made up for it afterwards. Bottom line: Good hotel, great location, good rooms. Eat and relax elsewhere in NYC.

The staff at this hotel are really wonderful. Very attentive and polite. We checked in early and no one reminded us that we were early, they just found us a room and in fact asked what floor we would like Waiter in restaurant was also very attentive

This hotel has lots of competition and is larger than others like Westin or Marriott however it doesn't have simple things like robes or in room coffee maker which would go a long way to make it feel a little more personal even though it's a huge hotel.

First of all there can't be any better location out there than just right beside Grand Central Terminal, only need a few minutes to reach anywhere from Grand Central station. The design of the hotel is definitely unique and exotic. Room is very clean and greatly decorated, the room might not be the biggest one, and the view in the front side is a little bit limited as it's surrounded by all other tall buildings, but the unique design and decoration really make a standard hotel room looks different, artistic and exotic. 10 seconds to Grand Central station, 10 minutes walk to Time Square. Would recommend if you dont have a lot of time and just want to see as much as possible in a limited time.

Awesome hotel and awesome staff!! Great location - walking distance from many attractions and right next to Grand Central for a longer travel. Hotel staff let us check-in early with no problems. Also, let us check-out 2 hours later and held our bags while we toured the City waiting on our flight. We will be coming back to the Grand Hyatt in the future.

This hotel is terrible. Took 8 hours to get my room defeathered. I forgot contact solution called down to the guest request Line and after 5 minute hold they told me to call the bell desk to see if they could get it from the market. I am a loyal SPG member and had to stay here for work. Hyatt sucks.

It was a wonderful experience. We stayed on the Grand Club level and the hotel was totally responsive to our needs. The water does take a little bit too warm up but that is the only negative for such a beautiful space.

Rooms were dusty, bathroom not as appealing. I even found a shoe under the small seat in my room. My allergies got heated due to the dust, i talked to the front desk and they said they have "allergy friendly rooms" if you have those why cant all your rooms be allergy friendly and be clean?

Far from times square.
Far from actually everything.
