Been there for a wedding reception and I must say it was amazing.

Average view wall or pool. Reception and very direct and hard service. 100 deposit for nothing and returned in 7 days (average) evening buffet at 32 euros. Too expensive for what it is. Disappointment.

Beautiful hotel good cuisine and friendly staff. Managers look a bit stressed. Stairs are clearly not a priority because they are more suited to a 2-star hotel.

The hotel was built a long time ago, you can see it from the furniture. The service is excellent, they gave us an upgrade to the room and arranged a transfer to the airport (20 euros) a great pool in the sea, a lot of fish, take a mask

Not a 5*, maybe it was in the past but the outside is shabby and the inside neglected.

You can't complain, staff constantly working to keep standards. Even if something is out of place it will will get sorted as soon as it is raised.

Only one jacuzzi with cold water and swimming pool for children 1,3m deep cannot be good enough to the 5 stars Hotel! It needs to be upgraded as soon as possible! Especially when holel have capacity more than 800 guest. Staff is very nice and pleasant.

Nice place, but very low ceilings. I almost bumped my head against an emergency exit sign hanging from the ceiling.

Abgewohnt, dirty, sweaty, extremely smelly mattress, I could not shut because of the stench. Everything is outdated and undercover. The food far from fresh, the white god how many times recycled. A terrible hotel. Horrible to the last corner.

It would need some maintenance but it is a wonderful environment

The hotel is elegant, exceptional breakfast, great view. Generally, although at the reception the world is very polite, you can be lying beautifully. It is good to arrive at the hotel at 3 o'clock so that you can only get into the room. stars

The hotel itself is nice and the staff are friendly. I did feel a bit mugged off though as i booked a room with sea view and i could see about 1mm of sea when standing on balcony and they wouldn't change it, i saw more of the staff walkway and a tent than anything else. The breakfast is great and you have 2 floors as it gets busy. The pool is nice, just watch out for those sunbed reserving people at 7am with their towels. You have waitresses that come around offering the limited but nice bar menu. The beach is not really a beach but more a sandy bit of land and a ladder to get in the sea.

Vegetable shortage. Within 5 days the same assortment of vegetables - green cucumbers. tomatoes cherry.deficitar gaskets vegetables - cauliflower white olives fat .zucchini .etc. a single type of pasta .prepared ready-made. assortment limited fruit. small quantities. Bread assortment of two kinds of bread. assortment of sweets packaged one kind. licking cheese molds lunch and evening to eat after sweets to drink a glass of wine. same cakes daily. do not serve ice cream.lips natural juices.supe .Short without taste and consistency. In the evening 22.05.prepared meat. chicken. pork. They were either fried in oil and too much. With very heavy sauces for not feeling the taste of the meat. The equipment for preparing egg products in front of customers at breakfast is totally deficient leading to the formation of queues and quits .The staff at reception reception arrogant behavior. Higher attitude. dictatorial. There is no livelier. Things are chaotic, making an unwanted walk for tourists. The consumable products in a bathroom of total doubtful quality do not make them agreeable for use. Inappropriate towels for 5 stars respectively white and cotton grams per cm 2.in the mini-range of the total deficient product. The total lack of different alcoholic minicultures. incomplete dispossessing. Lack of tomberon. Various dressings for salads. Lipsa sorbetto .personal only english.nu Italian. Not German. During the same 5 days, the same 3 chicken sausages. the same type of sausage fries the same fried bacon
Deficient in vegetables.in 5 days - same 3 vegetables - sliced cucumbers.lettuce.cherry tomatoes. Deficient in vegetable garnish -cauliflower.white cabbage .pepper.zucchini.etc. one kind of pasta. awfull.dishes.limited fruit assortment.small amonuts. Bread assortment two types maximum. Assortment of jams packed in one way. Black cheese for lunch and dinner to be consumed after sweets and in time drinking a glass of wine. Same type of cookies. No ice cream serving. Lack of juice. Soup.borscht.without taste and consistency. In the eavening of 22.05.18.dishes - main course chicken .pork.fish. were over cooked in oil or with heavy sauce to hide the old taste of meat.kitchen preparing equipment of egg products is totally deficient leading to lines and waiver.the front desk staff - arogant .superior behavior .dictatorial .there is no lift boy. the elevators are chaotic setted leading to the unwanted walk of the tourist.bathroom consumable products total of dubious quality.not agreeable to use.inappropiate towels for 5 star hotel respectively stage of white and gram of cotton per cm 2. In the mini deficient total assortment of small difrent bottles with alcohol. Disposal of dishes totally inappropriate. disagreeable. lack of dumpster. lack of salad dressing and sorbetto. Hotel staff- only english.not italian.not german. During the same day, 3 cured meats .3 same type of cheese. one kind of fried sausage and the same bacon overcooked.

Like the Grand Hotel Budapest in the movie. Unfortunately in the latter years. Good things: the location, setting and grounds. Bad things: had to request they replaced the used towels from previous guests, exterior needs work, reception offers hotel cab to centre for 15 for 1km and refuse to call or even provide the number for normal taxi in a thunder storm.

Great location shame about ants if you leave food in your room

Hotel refused to provide refund ( on non refundable charge) even after air Malta cancelled flights and Malta government imposed a 14 day quarantine on all tourists who arrived on Malta. Other travel providers, including Air Malta, provided refunds. A shameful display of imposing a policy in difficult times.

Fantastic hotel. Friendly staff. Due to Covid-19 the restaurants are closed but room service and breakfast are available and are really good. Would definitely return to this hotel.

Great rooms, however dated decor in main hotel. Service was ok at times but over very poor. I ordered a taxi from the night manager and he gave our taxi to another person, we waited over 25 minutes for another taxi. We asked if we could call a local taxi but he wouldn't help with that either. He said I could use the phone but he wouldn't call any other taxis that are not connected to the hotel. Which for a five star hotel I think is outrageous. They only have one taxi for such a large hotel?? The rooms are good but the toilet blocked and it took them three times to fix it. The guy took ages to come and it was the morning of my sisters wedding. I think some of the reception team are very poor at their jobs and very rude to guests, for a wedding I wouldn't choose this hotel. It's meant to be 5 stars but I would say 4 at a push. Lacking in service and decor. Needs an update and new staff. Oh and the outside needs painting or washing.

Beautiful pool right on the harbour choice of restaurants and bars rooms very well appointed. Within walking distance of Valletta main town. Own private beach.

5-star hotel just outside the center of Valletta. Excellent service, appropriate to the rank. Great view from the dining room! The only "problem": 88 steps to exit. ToRecommended strongly

Great hotel, good clean rooms and lots of in house options. The view over the harbour is the best if you can get a harbour view. Walking distance to Valetta Gate.

A beautiful hotel to stay in at a stunning setting. The pool area is simply amazing. Staff are lovely and friendly. Rooms are spacious and bright. Recommend staying here. Great location near city centre.

Great location overlooking the water... Sunset is nice at the Tiki bar. The hotel is a little dated, you can tell it must have been a very extravagant hotel in its day, but now it could do with an upgrade. Rooms were very nice and our sleep was excellent. Would recommend to friends if the hotel was discounted.

Great location, excellent views from the rooms on the side of the bay, luxurious atmosphere, friendly service, mid-night animation. Rooms and bathrooms very spacious, I recommend this hotel :)

Beautiful hotel in a lovely setting within short walking distance of city centre. However large number of steps to negotiate to walk from hotel

No five-star stay! The food in the restaurant is bland and careless. The wellness area is run down and not inviting. The entire complex is in need of renovation. Not recommendable.

Just back from a 4 night stay had a fantastic time. Staff could not do more for you and nothing was too much trouble. Hotel situated in Valetta great walks round the city with lots of cafe's, bars and restaurants to choose from. Very easy to get a round on the buses and see all the sights Malta has to offer. 2018 see Malta issued with the city of culture so this must be the place to go for a city break. Make the ExcelsiorHotel your base as this is central for everything.

Somewhat older 5 star hotel, so only 4 stars from me.
The spa and pool area is great. Indoor pool open 24 hours, as is the hotel bar. Breakfast is actually good, only the cheese and fish selection could be a bit bigger. Overall, but certainly a top address in Valetta.

Superb! Stayed there twice in the same year and I look forward to returning.

The plus: the situation, the exceptional setting, cleanliness everything is nikel despite some forgetfulness of the maids (towels removed not renewed), the equipment, the welcome, the kindness and in particular the professionalism the efficiency and the helpfulness of the Conciergerie Redouane.
The least: noise caused by work, the kindness does not erase the lack of experience of some servers. Not enough shuttle turns that requires to take taxis, 5 stars requires

Been here twice and love it. Superbly located for exploring Valetta and has great facilities and waterfront views.

Not 5 star as advertised. Exterior of hotel could do with a lick of paint! Interior a bit dated & in need of a bit / lot of TLC to bring it up to 5 star rating.

Beautiful hotel for a pleasant stay. Great location a few minutes walk from the city center. Spacious room, deluxe room with sea view are very nice, large terrace, well equipped bathroom with shower and bath. Refined setting, pleasant and welcoming staff. Rich buffet restaurant.

Very good location of the hotel it's near Valletta. Big room with sea view. It has access to the sea and we enjoyed it. Free bottle of water and welcome with a big bottle of red wine. The breakfast was nice. We will go there again.

Awesome hotel at an even more awesome price! Centrally located a short half mile walk from Valletta, you can easily stroll over to some of the best restaurants in the world. The hotel itself, is equipped with a great restaurant and serves up a mean little morning buffet as well. From an ocean front pool, to Tiki Bar, to gym, this place has what you need. My only criticism is that it could be time for a modernization of interior design and technology (the TVs and such are quite dated).

Currently staying at this hotel. The rooms are well appointed and have all you'd expect from a 5 star including effective air-con. Located 5 mins from central Valletta. Food is excellent. Great breakfast choice with habour view. Dinner buffet is good but also consider Valletta Waterside which is a 15-20 minute walk away with a great buzz and wider choice of food (beware there are over 120 steps back though unless you get a cab). Indoor and outdoor pools and habour-side sun deck but loses a star for lack of steam room and poor gym.

Superb hotel. He deserves each of his stars (those who say otherwise really want to bitch).

I who do not know luxury, I had the impression of approaching it.

In short.

Otherwise, very well placed, near the center, 5 minutes walk from the entrance to the citadel.
