Grand Café XO Review

I ve tried this place several times. I enjoy the environment and most of what they offer. Today I visited 30 minutes before closing and it was very clear that my business was an inconvenience. FYI, all I ordered was a latte. Maybe staff was having a bad day? Either way, all food items were already put away... and it seemed like they couldn t wait to count their money and leave.

BLTA...was the absolute best I ve ever had. Slightly funny cause I asked for mayonnaise before eating it and was told they don t have it. Well it s cause the place has quality enough food that typical American condiments aren t needed. Also should say the chicken soup was great. So worth the price point!

It's more of a brunch vibe than it is a coffee vibe. You could say it's cute, though it's not my taste. The food is not bad, but it's overpriced for what you get both in quality and quantity. If you know anything about coffee equipment, their machines seem top notch. I'm pretty sure they had a Mahlkonig EK43 grinder. Unfortunately, to my taste, the coffee wasn't noticeably better than say, Fourteen Eighteen down the street. In fact, I heartily prefer Fourteen Eighteen if it's a question about coffee. Again, I think this is more focused on being a bakery, brunch AND a coffee place, and I think that's why the coffee is just fine, not particularly excellent or notable. It seems like a good place to plunk down your laptop and work though. It's got great lighting and it's in a good location. I'll also note that there's an absurdly high amount of IKEA furniture in here. All in all, it's cute I suppose, but I don't think the coffee is that notable. I did not get to try some of the baked goods but those actually looked pretty nice.

Awesome lavender latte and cortado. Staff is very nice and the atmosphere is great.

Everytime me and my significant other come here, it's a great experience. Friendly staff and a very nice environment to have some coffee.

A perfect coffee place! Rainy day and cup of coffee go hand in hand, especially if it's from XO Cafe. The food is also on point.

The service was terrible . A couple who came in well after us got served at least ten minutes before we did.

My drink was delicious and the girl that helped had wonderful! She was friendly and helpful and the brightest smile.

Met a friend here for coffee yesterday...and just thinking about how much I enjoyed it! I had their medium roast coffee and added a shot of espresso....such a yummy full flavor without a hint of bitterness(my friend had a latte with lavender). Their huge cranberry scone is the best I ve ever had. Not too sweet or dry, but amazingly buttery (I m thinking croissant here). Great atmosphere and music....very nice staff and service. I ll be back!

I had a fantastic ham omelet. It was so well seasoned. Great neighborhood coffee shop.

I've tried this place twice, and while their food is amazing, the staff is polite, and the environment is aesthetically pleasing, I have been uniformly dissatisfied with lattes that I have received. They always have an odd taste to them that I have never gotten from other artisanal and craft coffee shops. Also, the syrups seem to not flavor, but add an aftertaste to the drink. This would be fine if the aftertaste was identifiable, but I have to actually concentrate to notice it at all.

Horrible service experience! I got half way through my meal when I took a bite of raw egg when I took the food back to let them know they just said well you ate half of it! I didn t want more food or even my money back but they offered nothing not a single apology! Just blame! The food was good before that but 3 workers and even the manager wouldn t take responsibility for RAW egg! Will never go back.

I love this coffee shop however on a recent visit I was pretty disappointed.
On a Saturday morning it took us 40 mins to get 2 coffees and a muffin to-go. The muffin was also supposed to be blueberry but only had 1 blueberry in the entire muffin.

With a busy Saturday morning and a market going on outside it seems like they should have staffed appropriately.

Clean and bright with consistently friendly staff. I come here specifically for their vegetarian artichoke toast. Highly recommend!

Such a great atmosphere. Food and drinks are creative and tasty and the staff is second to none

The only thing I really liked about this place was the fact it was super cute/girly. My chai latte was so nasty I didn t even finish it. They didn t even bother to do a design on it just threw a TON of cinnamon on top. The waffle was so flat and had zero flavor. The bacon had this overwhelming sugary maple flavor to it and the potatoes tasted like they were cooked in the same grease as the bacon. Not good at all.

We were visiting from out of town. Looked XO Coffee up and decided to give it a try. Had a great experience the first time we were in. Cashier was so kind and helpful. She explained the London Fog and we both decided to give it a try. It was seriously so delicious!
I thought about it afterwards for days, so on our way out of town this morning, we stopped in again and had the same drink again. Yum!
The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The staff so kind and helpful. I absolutely love this coffee shop, which is really so much more. The menu items sound so amazing - I can't wait to come back in a few months! Well done~

Sandwiches are too good a little bit greasy coffee is bitter, but tipical Cuban brew made chic, it's great vibe place, pricey but the sandwiches are Soo worth it.

We had coffee, tea, and sangaria. Also has some craft beers. Comfortable, relaxed, staff friendly and helpful.

Love this place, they sell Novel's beans and serve their coffee. I wish they gave you a free cup with the purchase of a bag of beans like other places do.

We love this coffee shop!! The coffee and atmosphere are both wonderful and we make the drive to Plano from Rowlett because it's better than anything we've had locally.

I go to XO Coffee almost every Thursday with my school wife. I order the iced caramel latte that taste like heaven. I also always get a dessert every time. I love how they have different desserts each time I go. The atmosphere is amazing. Plus the employees are so nice and helpful, they make sure your table is always clean and they make sure that their customers are well taken care of. Hands down one of the best coffee shops I have been to. The design is so cute, it makes me feel like love is all around. ;)

A little pricy but the food is good and creative! Come for cake and coffee

Tasty coffees and teas as well as a limited food menu.

The atmosphere and service is fantastic. The coffee is great as well. So far, I've had a pour over and a latte, and my wife has had two different kinds of lattes, and we've been thrilled with every cup. The food is also amazing, and I'm pleased with the fact that almost everything is made fresh on location and the produce is farm to table.

My only issue is that the food portions are kind of small for the price you pay. I understand that direct to farm means a higher price tag, but it seemed like $25 for one breakfast and two drinks should have you leave full and maybe with some leftovers. Still, I'm kind of nitpicking here.

This place is amazing! Coffee is delicious! Make your own omelette tasted perfect, even if it doesn t look like it lol. Music is so romantic and nice! Had a wonderful time here!

Horrible cake, server was distracted and forgot my coffee. The other people were nice, especially the really handsome server. Nothing I ordered was good though.

This place has a great environment. I could sit there for hours. Multiple coffee options. The lattes are amazing, very smooth! Best coffee I've ever had. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also serve beer and wine. Very charming place!

I had a quad espresso with a touch of steamed milk and it was excellent. The service was top notch and together with the atmosphere, XO was a super pleasant experience! For those of you who just hate it when music is pumped in way too loud you'll be glad to know that acoustically, XO provides a calm coffee atmosphere. We were able to carry a conversation and hammer out some work over coffee. Will definitely go there again.

The food is way over priced and you don t have enough of a selection. The cashier could not suggest any good plates to eat and he was flat out difficult. On the bright side the setting was pretty incredible.

The breakfast and coffee here was very disappointing. We ordered cold brew coffees and I'd be shocked if we actually received cold brew instead of iced coffee as the drinks we received were very acidic and not sweet in the way that cold brew is supposed to be. My "cinnamon waffle" was $10 and it looked and tasted like a frozen waffle that someone threw cinnamon in the center of, not mixed into the batter like I would have expected. The fruit cup was fresh and tasty, but my partner might have gotten a moldy grape in his. The potato side was $3 and couldn't have been more than 8 small pieces of potato tossed in rosemary. All in all, we paid way too much money for mediocre food and I'm shocked that this place has as high a rating as it does.

Great food and great service! The artichoke toast was big enough to split and was delicious. Highly recommend!

Easily the best coffee in Plano! The syrups are all homemade and the super friendly and knowledgeable staff is more than happy to tell you more. The food is also worth staying for and is incredibly fair priced and filling.

Also, this place has plenty of unique vegan options. I got to try a bite of their tofu and it was cooked in a way to where the texture and consistency were top notch. I'm not the biggest fan of tofu because of how spongy it is, but this was actually REALLY good!

Lovely place! Was here during Halloween and the decor was super cute and cozy. Lovely coffee and hot chocolate!

The workers here were very nice and attentive but everything else in here was just okay. The vanilla latte had no flavor, the chai tea latte didn't taste like chai. The food just tastes like something I can make at home, and even though it was good portions I feel like I wasted almost $40. Wouldn't recommend this place to my friends.

This place had a fun vibe and is recommended to try if you want something other than your standard Starbucks. They had live music with the front doors propped open when I went there on Sunday about 11am. It was already muggy out so I was surprised they had the doors open, but after the dude wrapped up his set, they closed the doors and piped in music over the speakers while the AC worked to make it more comfortable. Mocha was decent, but not super great. Wife had regular drip and it was also fairly decent. Will have to go back several more times to get a true feel on the coffee quality. They also serve food and some alcohol, but that's something else I'll need to try on a subsequent visit.

The price for coffee too was high and coffee was just okay. Service was also just okay and slow. I'll stick with Starbucks...

The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and they have vegan and vegetarian options that are really good.

Coffee was good. Lots of selections for tea too. Customer service was on task as well. Great location in downtown Plano.

Incredible espresso shots with full body and crema. Lattes were beautifully crafted and baristas were so nice! Pricing was reasonable and the environment is very fun and inviting. Love this place!

This place is super pretty and trendy. I loved the decor and style. The staff is friendly and helpful. That would make it 5 stars. But the actual quality and taste of the drinks and food brings it down to 2 stars. I was disappointed in their "smoothie", turned out to be more of an extremely sweet milkshake (great milkshake but terrible smoothie), they were very understanding and swapped it for lemonade (which was ok, it's not hard to make lemonade, I don't know what it was about it that made it barely drinkable). I got a sandwich for takeout, that was also just okay (I don't ask for the moon in a sandwich just that is better than what I can make at home and it wasn't, it was less), it came with some sort of veggie side salad that smelled amazing but I couldn't eat because of the onions, I suspect it was really good.

Amazing ambiance, and service. Would definitely go back when I'm in town again.

I have not tried the coffee but I had lunch here and the chicken ceasar salad was the best I've ever had! They have homemade croutons that are amazing!

The only thing i thought needed improvement was a more friendly barrista.

I don't even drink coffee like that but I tried to get one of them and I didn't like it told them I wanted something different more sweet and she came back with something that was very tasty good place..

The difference is in the coffee itself. Incredible coffee beans ground on demand to produce an incredible expresso.

i love going here. i'll return friends next time. the prices are fair for the quality of food.
