Fantastic nature and a pity show a bit of bad weather I will return

A nice place to spend the days with family or friends

We visited Lake Campotosto and the two small villages around, Masciano and Campotosto. The earthquake made these places almost phantom. And nothing was rebuilt two years after the earthquake. The lake is very low because one of the dams is also damaged. Overall a quick visit is worth it. But I would advise against going there on purpose

It is located near Isola del Gran Sasso, very convenient to reach by car

A paradise on earth ... ideal to break away from the chaos of life

Fantastic national park that stretches between abruzzo marche and lazio. One of the largest protected areas in Italy that includes the spectacular Gran Sasso massif including the highest peak in the Apennines, the Corno Grande with its 2912 meters and the Monti della Laga chain. The park offers various activities that are the usual one related to the mountains, from simple hikes to challenging routes with climbing routes by mountaineering and beautiful cliffs, then there is the possibility of skiing and even snowkiting, then there are paths for bicycles or rides on horseback, in short everything you can do in the mountains and in close contact with nature. Highly recommended !!

There are no words to describe the beauty of this place where peace of mind is found! It is one of the three primary parks in Abruzzo and certainly among the most beautiful in Italy, between the provinces of Teramo (Prati di Tivo) and L'Aquila (Campo Imperatore). Definitely worth seeing and going back several times!

Up to 1300 meters, no snow, only a lot of fog in banks

the place is wonderful from a naturalistic point of view in particular and deserves at least 1 visit

Here nature has given its best. Rivers, streams, green mountains and alpine peaks. Nothing is missing. Have a good fun !

For those who love the mountains like me it is a fantastic place, and unique in all of central Italy

In the midst of nature it offers many experiences and fun

I've been there several times from Assergi via the lake of Campotosto on the dam, up to Amatrice, then via Salaria I still get home. More still life than abandoned, that photo of the rainbow on the Gran Sasso that I published, I hope it can be a good omen on a rebirth and on a promotion of local tourism that I see very futuristic. At times it seemed to me to cross the Nebrodi in the center of Sicily. Desolation. I leave this post with pain, I take back the rainbow and dedicate it to me, to those who suffer, to those in need, to those who pray and have a little hope for themselves. The Gran Sasso is a Dolomite. It is splendid in the morning to admire it arriving on the A24 from the East. He has been able to make himself beautiful, I recommend that you admire him from afar and still dream of a rainbow of joy, health and travel for all of us. The Gran Sasso Park belongs to the Laga mountains and is located between three regions, Abruzzo Marche and Lazio, and offers great opportunities for recreation surrounded by nature in all seasons. Walks, rock, bouldering, waterfalls, lakes, streams, woods and characteristic villages where you can taste local products. There are numerous sites of historical and naturalistic interest with caves, hermitages and churches.

The park from the naturalistic and landscape point of view is wonderful. I am not able to express a reasoned opinion on infrastructure in general as I have only visited a small part of it.

Beautiful places in terms of landscape with small villages still intact. Many typical and natural food products. It is worth a visit without the slightest doubt. Both for the L'Aquila side and for the Teramo side of the Gran Sasso.

Wherever you go and beautiful, the beautiful Lake Barrea, the fabulous ride along the lake, what about Pescasseroli? Wonderful country.

Beautiful place to swim, we went to mid-August in a dozen, and we were god.
Very quiet place there is not a living soul.
