Ascent to m.S.Franco from passo delle Capannelle, pleasant excursion with beautiful and evocative views, thanks to the good weather, of m.Corvo, m.Jenca, Lake of Campotosto and further west to the m.Terminillo in Lazio.

It is a wonderful place, convenient to reach, with plenty of parking ... Those who are fond of skiing / snowboarding is certainly advisable, but also a beautiful place for those who love to enjoy a fantastic view .... There are also many routes that it is possible to do, excursions, ski lessons for adults and children .... There are also bars and shops that sell / rent mountain equipment .... Also the box that we rented in the adjacent village was beautiful and very comfortable, with the view all over the Gran Sasso mountain ... Only thing bad maybe there was no fireplace (but this is probably because it is all made of wood) and that there is the bell that plays every half hour (but only during the day , at night it never plays) so if you are walking around the mountain during the day it will not give you so much trouble:) ... The owners are very nice and helpful, and the price is very moderate ... It's also very clean ... So I would definitely recommend Chalet Pa ola to Assergi ... That you will also find on google

There is not much to say, given that nature is beautiful everywhere, however it is worth taking a tour of this park with a multitude of paths that turn in every direction.
And lately there are several initiatives in place for evenings suitable for young people, dancing under the stars at high altitude, I hope they continue!

Landscapes that leave you breathless! Huge green valleys, where you can often find cows, sheep, and horses .. they eat or simply approach you for curiosity and for some cuddle . Sometimes you are immersed in the most total fog, from the clouds that envelop you like soft whipped cream. Others in a bright sun that accentuates and makes the various colors shine all around. Like a painting. One of the many beautiful paintings of Abruzzo .. The countries deserve to be visited all., Each has its own charm .. From Campo Imperatore to Santo Stefano di Sessanio, Castel del Monte, Rocca Calascio, Assergi .. Who comes on holiday from these parts remain enchanted by these particular mountains, from the landscape that often changes, from the flowered meadows .. immense !!! Which I really like to photograph .. I love this region. How many things to see, to listen, to savor .. Wonderful !!!

For the first time in my life, I discovered my "dark side" of mountaineer, whom I thought I did not have.
I did it thanks to my children who showed us more closely the majesty of the Gran Sasso. Beautiful "walk" that makes you climb for 500 meters up to the Madonnina, altitude 2000, and then continue in the direction of the "refuge" and beyond.

Fantastic. It is a pity that the Mayor of L'Aquila allows cars and motorcycles to reach the Piazzale at the top of the cable car, which make an obrobrium of dirt, noise and environmental pollution a heritage site of universal nature.

Fantastic place and unique experience, suitable for those who want a day of relaxation and fun in unspoiled nature. I recommend booking a lunch at a farm to devote yourself and exclusively to yourself ... leave clock and phone at home!

Impossible to come to Abruzzo and not to visit the Gran Sasso national park. Do not miss the Emperor field level (renamed the little Tibet), the canyon of Scoppaturo which turn the film by Bud Spencer and Terence Hill "I continued to call the Trinity" (epic scene of fagiolata) or even the marvelous castle of Rocca Calascio (with its 1400msl is considered as high site castle in Europe) also known for the films "lady Hawk" and "the name of the rose." But there are so many places to visit. Have fun

It is the true soul of Abruzzo because it is still almost intact. The lack of development of the 60s ended up preserving this jewel: this means uncontaminated nature, but the other side of the coin are structures not at the level of the current tourist standards. Know how to appreciate the positive aspect, much more difficult to find.

From Fonte Cerreto there is a chair lift that leads to Campo Imperatore, otherwise in summer it is possible to climb to altitude with a comfortable road, asphalted and without holes. From Campo Imperatore it is possible to reach the top of the Corno Grande via a simple well-marked path in about 2h30m
