The service provided when I remortgaged was fantastic - I knew exactly what was happening at every stage and the process could not have been quicker or more efficient. I highly recommend Gordons property Lawyers.

It all happened rather quickly to be honest, I was expecting the "normal" time taken by solicitors but out of the blue and within just a few days all was complete. I did however make a mistake on the paperwork regarding where I wanted my funds to be sent to, a short phone call supported by a brief email and all was sorted, very friendly and very efficient.

I used Gordons (via RBS) for the remortgage of my property. They are without doubt the most efficient and helpful solicitors I have ever dealt with. Despite the remortgage not being a straightforward one, they still completed in less than a month and answered any queries quickly and helpfully - my case handler was Shakha Gupta who was excellent.

Gordon's Property Lawyers handled a remortgage for us recently and this was completed quickly and efficiently with prompt replies to all emails and frequent updates during the transaction. I would happily recommend and would be keen to use the team again.

I was very impressed at how simple the whole process was. Any requests I made were actioned promptly and efficiently and my re-mortgage was processed in super quick time. No long waits on the phone either - all in all, a refreshing change. 4.5 out of 5 (always room for improvement somewhere)

I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews. I recently used Gordons for my re-mortgage and it was extremely pain free! After filling in the initial paperwork and sending it back, no further correspondence was required. I received emails to inform me of progress every step of the way and it completed on the day I requested. Couldn't be more pleased.

Horrible service, if I could give 0 stars, I would.
It started with them sending us completely incorrect documents. Then the conveyancer blamed in on 'the system'. This I found a very lame excuse as someone had to press the button on the system so clearly the email wasn't proofread because that someone couldn't have been bothered.
We are first time home buyers so we raised about 10-15 questions. The solicitor simply wasn't able to answer them within a timely manner, he kept repeating that he didn't have the contract from the developers. Both me and my husband ended up sending countless number of emails to him to chase, the answer was always the same. He simply could have not been bothered to pick up the phone or email the developers to get the information he needed. A PRIME EXAMPLE OF LAZINESS AND CAN'T BE BOTHEREDNESS. I had to escalate it to our mortgage adviser who recommended them and only then after 5 weeks things got moving.
However, all this delayed our competition and then this company dared to send me an email to ask to pay an extra fee because we moved the competition date WHEN IT WAS THEIR INCOMPETENCE which caused the delay. This is not all.
After we transferred and paid the deposit, all fees and stamp duty, there was no acknowledgement of receiving the money and all signed paperwork from their side at all.
Then we received an email to provide feedback on their service. If you think they reacted to it, you're wrong. HAVE THEY EVER HEARD OF SOMETHING THAT IS CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE?!? Clearly not.
This is not the end.
We have now been waiting and chasing an updated contract. No response from them yet again.
I will never ever recommend them to anyone. I frankly wonder how they still are in business.

Everyone I dealt with at Gordons was professional from start to finish and made everything very easy by cutting out the legal jargon and explaining things in a way that could be easily understood. They also contacted me when they said they would and chased up any issues without having to be chased to do so. I would definitley use Gordons again in the future.

Gordons Property Lawyers represented the lender when I recently remortgaged. I was very impressed by the speed of the whole process and their professionalism. Emma handled my case, and following an introductory letter and submission of the relevant forms, I was kept up-to-date at every step with emails and SMS messages. Although I had to submit several further forms and consents, this was made both very clear and exceptionally easy for me to do. I am grateful to Emma and the rest of the team at Gordons for processing my case with great professionalism and no fuss.

Slow and inefficient service. Re-mortgage took 2 months, and was 10 days late. This caused a shortfall on our mortgage - which GPL were soon prompt enough to request payment ASAP. Utter joke.

All of this was despite my best efforts in promptly returning requested documentation, and constantly chasing up my case handler, Kyle, by the end of it. They get two stars because with a LOT of chasing, and waiting on hold, and refusing to accept answers without timescales you CAN eventually expect them to do something.

Could not be happier with the customer service provided! Very prompt replies, extremely polite, efficient and timely process -would highly recommend.

Excellent service - Just remortgage our property through a local Mortgage broker who put us through with Natwest and the Lawyers assigned by NatWest were Gordons Property Lawyers. Very fast service - even faster than the broker thought it would be done. Kept informed of progress via SMS and email. Did exactly what was required and did it fast

I have recently re-mortgaged my property and Gordons services were include in the Banks offer. Was very pleased with the service received and the re-mortgage was hassle and worry free and completed bang on time. The G:PortL was helpful in knowing what stage you were at, instant access to documents and and easy way to contact your case handler. Would definitely use again.

Our experience of this firm has been less than favourable. A catalogue of inaccuracies and amazingly slow progress. If you have a choice to use other firms I urge you to do so. I've personally requested details of how I need to raise a complaint on more than one occasion, however I've not had the courtesy of any response to date. If I had done my work to as low standard I'd be unemployed right now. Extremely disappointed.

Awful. The worst property lawyer I have ever dealt with.

- they consistently wrote to the wrong address. They were corrected twice. The neighbour to whom they sent all the documentation works for the British Antarctic Survey and was away for 2 months!
- even after correcting them twice, they still sent the balancing cheque last week to the wrong address !
- they took ages to answer the phone - every time - in some cases I was in a queue for an hour and then the call died.
- they consistently misunderstood the nature of the deal despite it being explained repeatedly

- the manager we eventually spoke to was really unhelpful and rude in her response

Very poor service. I constantly had to chase to progress our remortgage application - never ending requests from them for additional documents which dragged out the process over 3 months and took us to the day the mortgage offer was due to expire. I seemed to be doing all their leg work for them and yet still had to pay the full price despite complaining and being 17 weeks pregnant at the time with pregnancy related health issues exasperated the situation and sent my blood pressure through the roof. Would never use again and to be honest only used because they were put forward by our broker. Complained to the broker and told them they shouldn't be recommending this outfit of incompetent pen pushers. Never touch them with a barge pole. They never even apologised for their crap service when I complained - just sent me the bill!!!!

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. I had to deal with them as they were appointed by the lender to re-mortgage my current house and mortgage a new house. In both cases, they wasted so much of my time and I had to repeatedly send them documents which was sent to them before and then call them to get acknowledgement of it. It took them 3 months for simple re-mortgage and 4 months for chain free mortgage. This is me being chasing them and calling them every day.
Avoid this company at all costs, they are time wasters, They are the worst company I have ever ever ever dealt with and I will never go near them again.

It is obvious they are a huge, profit-first organisation. The advisors I have dealt with range from clueless to outright rude & really couldn't care any less about the quality of service they provide. Despite my chasing them, their lack of prompt action may just have caused the chain of remortgage & purchases to fall through, leaving myself & other parties hundreds of pounds out of pocket.

My personal experience with Gordon's was that I received excellent customer service which was quick, friendly and efficient. I couldn't have asked for anything more and I would definitely recommend to others

Gordon's Property Lawyers acted on behalf of Natwest Bank when I did my remortgage. I didn't speak to anyone on the telephone, but their email correspondance was top-notch. I was kept informed of all progress and the mortgage went through as promised on the day they said it would. All emails were answered and they were prompt with replies. Would have no hesitation in recommending their services. Thanks to all at GPL.

Found them to be very professional and handled my remortgage quickly and professionally. Called back when they said they would and kept me informed of everything along the way without me having to constantly chase them. Would use again.

Simply awful! I'd never use this firm again, they repeatedly asked for documents that they had been sent, hid behind emails (very reluctant to speak to you, or call you back), no urgency for a very urgent case, nearly missed our completion date and cost us addition removal fees through absolute incompetence. Avoid at all costs and use a proper solicitor on the high street.

Everything is done by standad email attachments with, meaning you are a number, not a person. Ask a question that is not on their dropdown list of possible questions and you get ignored. Chase up an answer to your question and you get another standard letter that still doesnt address your issue. And then another ! I rang and was told documents I sent recorded delivery had not been received, saying only one of the documents had been received. They were all sent in the same letter. Instead of going and looking for the documents they had lost, they wanted me to send them again. Rubbish service from the outset

Only had dealings with this company though my Solicitor to purchase an apartment for my elderly mother. The reviews seem to be good for re-mortgaging but they are hopeless, slow and unhelpful to deal with for property purchases. We have ben waiting over two month for them to process and answer simple questions and provide answers. This has placed the family under pressure to house her while we wait for responses from PG Lawyers.
Can't comment on their other services but avoid if you are just looking for a solicitor to simply buy or sell a property.

During a recent re-mortgage, I found the speed and professionalism of Gordons to be second to none. They were by far the most eficent organisation in the entire process (and I include myself in that!). Loved the SMS updates when documents were received or any action was taken on my case.

I am not sure this company actually exists. The phone rings no one picks up, the answer phone takes a message and no one calls back, emails are sent but no replies received. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Avoid this company at all costs! We had to use them as they were tied in to our lender but if not I would have walked away half way through due to quite possibly the worst service and poorest attitude I have ever encountered. If you can imagine your worst solicitor nightmare then they fit the bill exactly: poor procedures; unclear and sometimes lacking instruction; no communication; horrible attitude etc etc etc And they took sooooooo long to do the simplest thing - they bordered on obstructive at times. And they lied to us. Just dreadful! I wouldn't use them again if they were the last solicitors practice on the planet, and I certainly would never ever recommend them to anyone. A special mention has to go to our very own little cretin that was shoved upon us - Kyle Allbrighton - dear God! He certainly won't be in the running for employee of the year. I'm surprised he manages to tie his own shoelaces and get into the call centre each day! Funnily enough there's a general theme running through most of the online reviews about this bunch of cowboys (with our little friend Kyle getting his own special mentions along the way) and I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to come within one hundred miles of Gordons Property Lawyers. One of the worst companies I've had the misfortune of dealing with. Obviously I would have given no stars if allowed (why can't I do that?).

Am currently remortgaging 4 properties and Gordons was the quickest and easiest to deal with. I loved the visual display with traffic light colours on their portal that showed me exactly where we were in the process at all times. Thank you Gordons.

I have recently re-mortgaged a but to let property and found the service excellent.
All communication was by email, I was able to upload documents to to a secure site and was kept up to date at every stage of the process with Texts and Email. The web site showed the current state of the procedure. All completed very quickly and without problems.

I fully recommend GPL they dealt with my mortgage application quickly and efficiently and this was the best service I have had from a lawyer firm in many years!

The absolute worst firm I have used for legal matters so far. Impossible to get hold of anybody who can help, the call centre staff always sound so miserable and unhappy at work and can never offer sensible updates, calls are put through to the case managers who just never want to speak to you, always at "lunch" whenever called - calls made between 11am-4pm and they're still at "lunch" - how long are the lunch breaks at Gordons?
Feel aggrieved to have had to pay for their service.

I was looking at these reviews when the bank instructed Gordons for a re-mortgage and was quite worried. However, I could not have asked for a better service. The job was done within 5 working days from start to finish with updates and good contact made throughout.

The phone line is very very busy but you just have to hold in there if you really need to speak to them. Email contact was great with replies usually within the hour.

I think the key is to make sure you have everything from the 3rd parties involved under control. I.e you can obtain information from your current lender to save them time, you can also help them liaise with your other acting solicitors etc.

Overall I found them to be excellent.

I can only assume that some of the previous reviewers who have awarded fewer than 5 stars work for rival legal firms as I cannot recognise anything in their reviews that comes anywhere close to the incredible service we received. We used them for a re-mortgage and it was a very smooth process and completely hassle free. When I did have questions or concerns they replied immediately that same day every time without fail. They were a pleasure to have work on our behalf and I am extremely grateful for their friendly, courteous and professional service. I could not recommend them more highly. If there were an option for more than 5 stars, I would happily award them.

Absolutely shocking, avoid at all costs, they were instructed on a simple re-mortgage but failed to notify me the sale had completed and when chasing them twice assured me both times the money was sent, still hadn't received funds the next day and it appears they have paid the funds to the wrong account.

Excellent firm with very helpful lawyers/staff to work and deal with. The level of efficiency I have experienced while I was dealing with Gordons, I have never came cross in the past with any property lawyers!

Never answer the phone - so far have been extremely difficult to deal with as simple inquiries take days because they are so slow to respond to emails.

Quick...efficient....supportive...transparent...a little confusing at times

I wish I had seen this before I had use them. They are very slow indees. I started my remortgae in September and we finally finished in March. Slow is a very positive word for them. What I had was just lazyness. When I called to question after 2 months why nothing has happened I was told ' we are waiting on your paperwork' they seemed to be under the impression that they had sent me 8 letters and called me several times. I can assure you all I never got any letters and 8 don't just magically go missing. It is now June and I am still waiting for the return of some documents and it's becoming very clear that they do not have them. I'm guessing they have lost tgem this just shows you the type of company they are if they can't even keep your important documents safe for a couple of months. The receptionist is rude. One day she was actually shouting down the phone at me like I was an idiot because I didn't understand what something meant. Such a bad company I would say avoid at all costs.

Very poor customer service. They send you daily text to send the completed documents. Then they lose it and when you call them they are very unhelpful. Not only that they asked me for mu details and emails yet never sent any " lost documents". Appalling service!

Do no use!!
Awful service. Repeatedly told they have a 24 hour return time on phone calls which have not been met once in the month I have dealt with them. Took them 10 days to relay important Conveyancing information and when they did they sent me a form with the very information they were requesting from me already in it.
When I asked the customer service (really?) rep if she could call me more quickly when something happened that would further delay a house purchase she told me she had too many emails to work through and maybe she could call me once a week if she wasn t too busy.
Same rep asked me to chase for information from other parties and when I did (desperate to move things along despite this obviously being their job) the other parties were unable to provide information to me stating that it was highly unusual for a conveyancer to request this of any client.
I googled one of the queries the rep had asked me to look into and hilariously the website that had some guidance and asked you to get in touch was Gordons Property Lawyers.
Appalling. Do not use these. I am cancelling my account with them.

I've unfortunately had the displeasure of being bundled with Gordons property lawyers as part of my remortgage to Natwest.
When signing the TR1 Transfer form, they kept rejecting the witnesses we used, they claim it has to be someone from a select group (Solicitors, banks, post office, mortgage broker etc), despite the fact the official land registry website saying otherwise.
The land registry says it is preferable that a solicitor witness it, but is acceptable if someone who knows you well, does so
I've been back and forth with this particular contact assigned to my case about this and low and behold, a month ago she actually told me it could be any independent witness!
I'm almost at the point of giving up with my remortgage, it's been nothing but stress due to their made up demands for certain witnesses.

They finally accepted the witnesses we had witness our documents and the final stages of my remortgage has gone through.

I've only dealt with solicitor's twice in my life and I was too young at the time to know what was going on at the age of 25, My estate agent initially installed a bit of fear in me that Gordon's solicitors were hard to get hold off, this wasn't the case at all for me, I had a difficult sale with complications along the way, I found the experience with Gordon's superb, I struggled with legal terminology and was able to speak to Patricia Bray who explained what things meant in person over the phone, Lauren and Beverly helped me to with email enquiries and updating - which helped a great deal, thanks very much for helping me achieve my dream home, In addition to this funds after the transaction were reimbursed by cheque really quickly, Will recommend to anyone, All the best Olly

I recently used Gordon's during my re mortgage, hassle free and very reliable. Whole process completed within 4 weeks. Updates recieved on a regular basis via text and email and on the occasion that I called on the phone recieved a call back within 15 mins.
