Mortgage - Very slow to react and poor customer service. Luckily managed to get vendor to agree the delay. Wouldn t recommend.

Judging by the mixed reviews I suspect the service depends highly on the case handler you re assigned. If you get a bad one then expect a very painful experience. I can t comment on what might happen if you get a good one, unfortunately.

Gordons dealt with my re mortgage a couple of months ago , the whole thing was delt with professionally and in a timely manner and took all the stress out of the transaction for me.
I had no problems contacting them and got pretty much instant replies to emails etc and couldn t have been happier with their service.

I cannot recommend Gordons Property Lawyers highly enough. We had a particularly (legally) difficult remortgage which, because of the actions of a third party, became frustratingly protracted over many months. Our case handler in particular was efficient and sympathetic, if she said she would do something, then it was done efficiently and immediately. If she wasn't available, then another member of the team were always on hand to discuss it and take action. Initially, I was worried about the Portal aspect, but actually, this is a tool to back up a very personal service and once you get used to it (which isn't difficult), is very useful indeed as you can see all the relevant documentation/correspondence immediately and how the case is progressing. GP Lawyers went a considerable way to restore our faith in the legal system.

I am an estate agent and Gordons are acting on behalf of our buyer due to the lenders requirements. on 3 separate occasions I have been on hold for almost 30 minutes without speaking to anyone and eventually giving up. I have never actually managed to speak to anyone there and they don't respond to emails either. God knows how they get any transactions through. Appalling service.

An excellent service for my remortgage. Quick, efficient and a case handler who communicated with me all the way through. Use the G.PortL if you can it works well. But remember, they are only as good as the information and communication you give them. I had a small unexpected legal issue late on in the process, which was dealt with in a couple of days. My Re-mortgage was so simple I couldn't believe it, online tracking helps me know what was going on, but I didn't really need to do that as everything went so smoothly. The next time I re-mortgage I'd be very happy to see that Gordon's were handling the transaction! Big thanks to the team!

Gordons Property Lawyers were the nominated lawyers for the lenders my IFA found for me. They were very efficient and professional at all times and dealt with everything extremely quickly. The portal was easy to understand. I telephoned them on one occasion and my call was answered immediately and the matter I was enquiring about was instantly dealt with. I re-mortgaged 2 properties and I found the service to be excellent, any questions were answered promptly and politely on line and supported by text messages. The web site is clear and easy to use. Gordon's handled a recent remortgage for me and from start to completion the whole process ran incredibly smoothly. I called once, though in reality I didn't need to as I was keep fully up to date with progress by way of timely and relevant email correspondence. I deal with a variety of legal firms most days and this is one of the smoothest transactions I've experienced.

The whole process was trouble free until it came to the removal of a charge from the registry. I completed on the 4/9 and now at 28/10 am still awaiting for a copy of the registry showing the removal of the charge. No direct communication from them and have had to rely on my IFA to try and resolve the issue which still remains unresolved. The removal of the charge was the purpose of the remortgage and as far as I'm aware it still remains. Hugely disappointing.

Superb service. From the start they understood that my job made it very difficult to receive phone calls during working hours. As such the whole remortgage process was carried out quickly, efficiently and professionally via email and text message. I thoroughly recommend their services.

The service I received from GPL was second to none - the service was so fast using their 'portal' that the mortgage was completed within no time - I found the staff very helpfull on the two occassions I needed to speak to someone - they were very efficient and kept me updated every step of the way - thank you GPL for making what is usually a fairly traumatic event into an easy transaction - well done.

Recently employed Gordon s Property Lawyers to handle the conveyancing on my remortgage. They were efficient, friendly and surprisingly quick whilst maintaining a high professional standard. Being very busy at work, I loved how they kept me updated by text & email every step of the way. They provided me with a login to a portal that informed me of the status of the remortgage at all times, with information on what needs to be done next, together with access to all documents available electronically. This was especially great because I didn t have to call them for updates at all. My case was dealt with smoothly and I would definitely recommend their services to anyone.

It's not like me to leave a bad review, but in this instance I have to.

I spent 4 full days uploading so many documents to their database, going back and fourth and I outlined from the very beginning we had to complete the remortgage very quickly, because there's a bridge on the subject property.

We worked solidly for 4 full days, only to be told at the last minute, Gordon's do not do sole representation! Why on earth this wasn't said at the very beginning, I do not know.

GPL were the lawyers who acted on the behalf of Natwest when we re-mortgaged with them and I couldn't recommend them highly enough. The process was incredibly smooth and stress free, written communication was easy to understand and the ability to process most documents digitally meant that everything was sorted quickly. Despite not officially working on my behalf their customer service was excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend or use them again.

I would like to recommend this firm for conveying matters, in particular my experience Remortgaging from one Mortgage provider to another. They were very professional, used all the latest tech i.e. from SMS to email providing updates, stages, correspondence both electronically and hard copies... all done without legal jargon, straight talking, (well I never had to speak to them) but you know what I mean, all done speedily and professional. 5 Stars, would have ticked more if available.

I couldn't have asked for a better service. Conveyancing process took just one week from start to finish, and communication throughout the process was excellent. My case handler was extremely friendly, accessible and informative. Thank you - would definitely recommend.

I found Gordon's very efficient, professional and approachable. My mortgage was handled and completed quickly and I received progress reports along the way. Would definitely use them again.

The thing with these reviews is genuine customer ones get lost in bogus ones from people who clearly work for the company concerned...look at the wording of some of them ...its like a cut and paste job.

Anyway you need to know.

They never call you back. They never called my Which Mortgage Broker back either...i estimate 10 plus calls were made between us.

They do answer the phone but you have no chance unless you really are at the end of your tether of speaking to your case handler.

Letters are sent by them apparently but you don't receive them even though you have no post problems with anyone else.

They are polite on the phone...well the customer service advisors are...this is why you get 2 stars not 1...the case handler sounded highly irritated I had managed to get through the system to speak to her...she was pleasant enough in the end but there is no customer service angle to any aspect of the call.

They are slow...painfully slow in every single aspect...this was not an easy or pleasurable customer journey.

I received a mortgage offer from Natwest within 2 days but had to wait a further 4 weeks before Gordons "received" their copy...how could this take so long...i suspect a very large backlog...anyway the blame was left by Gordons at Natwests door for that one.

Then I had to wait as it took 3 weeks for Gordon's to receive a redemption figure from my old bank HSBC...funny that as on Day 1 I rang HSBC and they told me they had a 24/48 hour turnaround...hmmm...must be the banks fault again...oh apparently it was.

I know i have been lied to and fobbed off and to some extent you kind of expect a little bit of this especially if a company is struggling with a backlog but communication is key if they had just called me back just one of the times they said they would then maybe I wouldnt be feeling like ive had a really bad customer service experience.

We used Gordons Property Lawyers to complete our remortgage only this month, which may I add has already completed. I have not made one phone call to Gordons requesting information at each step of the process I have received an email and/or text updating me of the progress. Gordons have contacted both me and my husband on a few occasions and each staff member has been polite and courteous. I would also like to add that my mortgage advisor was shocked at not only the speed of completion but also the contact I have had from Gordons which indicates to me they are above the norm. I would definitely recommend Gordons and hope if the time comes to work with them again. Working in the NHS I appreciate how positive feedback makes a difference to a team and often how little we actually receive, so thank you to the team at Gordons your hard work was much appreciated by from this client!!

Very bad experience. Never again. Working with them was the most stressful time in my life. They don't answer calls, they don't return calls, they don't reply to emails. We managed to exchange but they were so slow that the vendor asked for more money.

Excellent service. Had regular updates throughout, via text and email. They could not have done anymore to make the whole process easier.

All correspondence was done via email and text alerts and the service was first class. Gordon's Property Lawyers we so efficient that they even managed to bring the completion date forward for us.

We cannot sing the praises of Donna Reynolds and her colleagues enough. We started a remortgage back in February 2017, and due to an issue with our solar panel lease, it took 6 months to complete. Throughout the whole process though, Donna & GPL were very professional and tried everything in their power to get us completion quicker. Would recommend them to anyone.
