Fantastic customer service. Liaised with Carly Kossen throughout and she helped me every step of the way.
Would recommend, simple as that.
I highly recommend this company for their professionalism, customer service and support during my job search. I have to mention Georgie and Pauline in particular - Georgie for noticing my CV out of the many 1000s out there and for taking the time to understand my career history; Pauline for her crucial advice and her tips on how to "sell myself more". They promptly found me the type of role I had been wanting for some time, and a few days later l was interviewed and a job offer made. I am very grateful that the new year ushered in Gordon Yates, and I wish the team many continued years of success.
They did not get back to me once with any roles or updates. Also my emails and phone calls were consistently ignored. Joining this agency is a complete waste of time and travel money.
Another time wasting recruitment agency. Not only was my consultant late but they were not in the least bit interested in my CV and I. No further contact about any jobs at all.
Worst Agency ever only filling their database with cv but not bothering to assist candidates Amy Bater is the worst consultant
So incredibly disgusted with how unprofessional the staff member I was dealing with has been. After speaking to a number of people who have used this agency it seems they have all had issues with the same person. Don't bother with them. Never had such an awful experience. Wish I could give less than one star.
Got called in about some urgent roles the company had available. When I went for the registration meeting I was told that I would have to wait a while since they were running behind schedule. This didn't bother me as these things happen. What bothered me was about 15 minutes later I was met with someone different who I spoke with on the phone, and he was talking so fast that I could barely understand a word of what he said. In and out of the meeting in five minutes. If you don't have time to interview your candidates properly, do not invite so many in!
Heard nothing about these "urgent" roles. A week later I got a call about a role in a well known charity that had nothing to do with my profile or what I was looking for. I agreed to put my CV through regardless. I checked up after a week - no update. This went on for about a month. Then got a call from my consultant about a temp role in the same company - no explanation or apology for lack of contact or anything! I decided whatever I'll go ahead and agree to out my CV forward. A week later got interview confirmation with very little about the interview itself - a test that I had no idea was coming!
The interviewers told me they would get back to the agency in a couple of days, but guess what? I heard NOTHING, even a week later! Even if the company had not responded I would have liked to know!
I'm done with Gordon Yates and advise everyone to avoid them. Don't waste your time or money travelling to meet them.
Epitome of scattergun recruiting. Lazy, incompetent and an absolute waste of everyone's time. Do yourself a favour and don't call these guys back - absolute morons and epitomise everything bad about the recruitment industry
Edit in response to Richards comment:
the issue is the individual spent 30 minutes on the phone with me, we then exchanged 11 emails, with him insistent on my 'coming into the office' for no clear reason BEFORE he actually read more my CV in it's entirety - hence my adjectives 'scattergun' (ie this is not a specific, targeted approach after genuinely learning about the candidate), 'lazy' (does not take the 2.5 minutes needed to read a two page document) and finally 'incompentent' - which I'll admit is more of an assumption based on points one and two above but one I standby.
Thank you for taking your time to reply, hopefully this conversation prevents this occuring with other candidates in future.
SO UNPROFESSIONAL. Do not waste your time with them!! Reading the one star reviews on here, they are all absolutely correct. This agency is the worst I have ever come across.
Another unreliable agency offering nothing in return. Carry Kossen pretends she wants to help you, and she only speaks nonsense. They do not take what he says, but he blindly reads what is written in your CV. They pretend to be nice but in reality it has nothing to do with good behavior. It's just a job agency and I think they are a direct employer. They only look out for nothing but this. I just lost time and money coming to that place. If you are very desperate then I recommend. If you do not look for another agency. Avoid from afar.
An amazing company filled with consultants who genuinely care about what is right for candidate and client alike. Gordon Yates is a notch above the rest! 10/10
A place for people looking for jobs and improving their experience
Been with them since 2013 and found them to be excellent, consistently getting placements and the agency work around my needs. I couldn't disagree more with the poor reviews I'm seeing.
Worst agency I've ever signed with. Payroll are always making mistakes and the consultants are very unproffesional - They only care about the commison they make and not what you find essential in your job search. Avoid Carly - a team member who is not only rude, but has very little consideration for her candidates.
Gordon Yates is a wonderful company, from my initial interview to finding me consistent work. Claire in particular is great to deal with, responds quickly and Sarah was always there to step in if Claire was away.
Thanks very much! Your help whilst I was in the temp market was hugely appreciated.
Gordon Yates is by far the best recruitment agency that I have signed up with. I cannot thank them enough for not giving up and for also finding me a permanent role.
Carly and Jo worked hard to find the suitable role for me of which I am greatful. I felt like I could really count on them.
Great communication, honest kept to their word!
Thank you!!!
Best recrutiment agency out there. These ladies are truly incredible, professioanl, hard working who really care to find you the best job to fit your needs. Rosa, Pauline, Jo- cannot thank them enough for everything they do. Absolutely the best and unlike any other agency.
Excellent recruiters. Rosa Buttifint and Georgie McCarthy worked close with me throughout the application process all the way through. They were always closely in-tune with what the interviewers were expecting and kept me in sync. The best interaction I've had with any recruiters.
Had a great experience with Gordon Yates and it was a very proactive and positive experience working with Rosa and Paul. Friendly and accommodating all round including the face to face in their offices. They were very helpful, Rosa was excellent with prep prior to the interview and then providing great feedback at each stage of the recruitment process. They also were very accommodating as offers were recieved outside of the agency and they made sure that preferred roles were a priority.
Think of the worst agency you've ever visited, then multiply it by 750 million and that is Gordon Yates. They are the worst recruitment agency ever, if you get a call from them don't waste your money going in. The temporary side will text/call you asking would you be free for an urgent role, you let them know and they say great thanks, I'll send you the details and then you never hear from them again. The permanent side will call you once in a while and tell you they have a "great role" for you, get you all excited saying they've handed over your cv and it all looks great etc etc and then again, you won't hear from them. Ridiculously rubbish.
A really terrible excuse of a recruitment agency! Never seem to have any jobs or even care about your job search. Amy Bater just straight up ignores my enquires about any available work. My advice is to not waste your time and find opportunities somewhere else if you can.
Excellent agency, the whole process from start to finish has been seamless, Sarah has been fantastic even answering questions on her day off, and both Sarah and Nadia have been very patient with me while i faffed around finding the relevant documents , time sheet portal is very easy to use and payment has been accurate and on time , also special mention to Ayhan & Paul form the payroll team there emails on a Tuesday are always a joy to read , would highly recommenced this company to anyone
I had a wonderful experience with Gordon Yates team and Amy Bater in particular. Amy listened to all of my specific requirements and placed me in positions that were appropriate for me and my skill set. We built up a level of trust and I felt respected and valued. This great working relationship resulted in me gaining a permanent position within a fantastic organisation. If you put in the work - they will work for you. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.
Wonderful agency!! I was very pleasantly surprised how thorough and considerate they were after having awful rushed experiences at other agencies. Rosa and Jo are fantastic! They asked key questions to ensure they find a position that would suit me best and listened to my response attentively. The next day I had an interview arranged. In their job descriptions they let you know if there's a low staff turnover and the size of the office which is important to me. Can't say enough good things about this agency!
Pauline and Paul were quick, efficient, reliableand honest. Very knowledgeable and helpful from the beginning of the process.
I can't fault this agency. I temped for several companies, gain more experience and built good relationships with those companies thanks to Gordon Yates. Whenever I needed work Claire ALWAYS had something lined up for me. Claire Harrop...You are AMAZING! GIVE HER RAISE SOMEONE!
My previous review got deleted for some reason.
Their receptionist is nice and accommodating.
Other than that, I don't have anything good to share.
Only one role offered for dates I was unavailable ( told in advance) and in fact less paid than my previous role.I want to bring up the fact that during the interview they flash some big numbers but when it comes to actual salaries they claim that what I asked was too much.
I tried to get in touch many times. It took a negative google review for their director to reply after 4 months and then to disappear again. I know someone who found a job through them so they won't be all bad and normally I would give more stars but the lack of response and the constant ignoring is what gets me the most. I have heard they had a better reputation back in the days but things change, the reviews and feedback I read since 2017 are appaling.
I've worked for this company for nearly 2 years now and have had consistent work from them. They always respond quickly to enquiries and offer me plenty of work which is always with lovely and professional companies. I would highly recommend Gordon Yates for their professionalism and flexibility.
Had a very good experience with Gordan Yates. A very kind and helpful team. Very supportive in helping me find a job that best suited me.
Excellent customer service. Would like to say thank you to Carly Kossen for her wonderful support, her patience and helping me to look for a job. Gordon Yates are lucky to have her. Thank you for everything.
Defo recommend her to friends and family.
Thank you
If you want a career, the RIGHT career, use Gordon Yates. Carly and Pauline make a great duo. From the inital phone call to the offer email. Professional, understanding and informative. The interview preparation pack is the best I've ever received. I would strongly recommend Gordon Yates for employers and candidates.
Thank you.
Harry
Gordon Yates were really helpful in finding my current job and it has been a pleasure working with them. One thing that I highly appreciated was the excellent customer service as they constantly gave me feedback throughout the recruitment process and followed up on all interviews. A special thank you to Pauline who did a great job in keeping in contact on a regular basis and in updating me on the progress of my application, and also to Matthew for his great support. I would definitely recommend Gordon Yates for their professionalism, their kind attitude and support.
They invited me in, had me fill all the forms and give my passport. They then told me they had a role they will apply me to and also send me over any temp or perm work. A month later and I have heard absolutely nothing from them. I didn't even hear about the role they applied me to (I know I didn't get it but it would've been nice if they updated me). I've had to email and chase them up. It's a good thing I wasn't solely relying on them to find me a job. The communication needs work, don't just get in new applicants then leave them in the dark. A month is ridiculous to not hear anything at all. They have 3 stars because at least the staff was very friendly.
I really recommend this company for their quick service and great customer service. Rosa and Pauline were great, quick to find me job offers that I was actually interested in and landed a permanent position quicker than I thought I would! Could definitely feel the sincerity of the two, they contacted me even after having landed the role to make sure everything is okay which I really appreciate, and felt they were supportive throughout the whole process. Thank you!
I really like this agency, they're upfront and appreciate honesty. I appreciated them working around my difficult temp requirements and as for the reviews below, I disagree with just waiting for an agency to find you a job, one has to be proactive and communicate with the agency each week.
It's an okay place with okay food, don't expect anything fancy though. The service there varies greatly from visit to visit. At times it's really fast other times you'll have to wait for 35 minutes just to get a drink. Visited last night and we were almost alone in the restaurant, still it took them close to 45 minutes to make fish and chips.
Gordon Yates got me a fantastic job a few years ago which has been absolutely great for my CV. They literally found me a job on the same day I went to see them. And not just the usual either they really valued what I had on my CV and found me a really suitable job. Would 100% recommend.
Terrible service and a complete waste of time. Disappointed how they reassure you they will do there best In being in touch after registration.....
This agency is an utter disgrace to the recruitment industry. If you keep your mouth shut and do as they say, then they will take as much of the money they can from you and you will all be best friends, if not you will fly and they will ensure that you learn who the "boss" is. Their consultants are unprofessional and empty-headed, and they expect that you do their job for them as well. The CEO/MD only cares about their profit they can make out of you, if they don't receive any then you are out. They break the law as and whenever they can, although less obviously. They know that most people are not aware of their rights and they exploit this by using these people until they can and after that goodbye. I would recommend to any decent professional to avoid this company.
The only good thing that I could mention is that they pay your salary on time and that is it, whether it is correct or not that is a different story.
Both a company and an employer worthy of my time writing a heartfelt and honest review on - first coming to this agency as a candidate, I ended up spending four wonderful years developing as an industry professional and learning as an individual person. Having seen and been part of the operations on the inside, Gordon Yates really get it right - everyone in the company goes above and beyond for their candidates, colleagues and their clients. They go the extra mile and literally work around the clock, sometimes at crazy hours of the evening and even through weekends, to ensure that they do the best they can matching people in jobs and clients to talent. If only I can bottle up the effort and sheer dedication to their work...
As an employer, the directors are devoted to professional development, training and helping you to reach your career goals. They invest a lot in regular training sessions whether that be as a whole company or 1-2-1 coaching. This ,coupled with the fact that they play as hard as they work, will make Gordon Yates one of the most treasured places for me to have had to pleasure to work in.
I recommend this agency to everyone, there's a reason they've been around since 1947!
I've just received a job offer and I want to say BIG thank you to Barry Yeung and Matthew Babechuk. I was very happy to work with them, Barry was calling me every time if any new position was availble. ;-) The support I received from Barry and Matt was great. Thank you so much, keep the good work.
How come we have an Anjelica giving 5* reviews, and another Anjelica being commended by another reviewer?
Fake reviews maybe?
Carly and Pauline were brilliant in helping me secure my new role. They were always at the other end of the phone when I needed them, and also provided updates via text when I couldn't pick up.
