The Googleplex is the corporate headquarters complex of Google and its parent company Alphabet Inc., located at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway in Mountain View, California, United States, near Silicon Valley's capital San Jose.

The original complex, with 2,000,000 square feet (190,000 m2) of office space, is the company's second largest square footage assemblage of Google buildings, after Google's 111 Eighth Avenue building in New York City, which the company bought in 2010. Once the 1,100,000-square-foot (100,000 m2) Bay View addition went online in 2015, the Googleplex became the largest collection of Google buildings with 3,100,000 square feet (290,000 m2) of space.

"Googleplex" is a portmanteau of Google and complex (meaning a complex of buildings) and a reference to googolplex, the name given to the large number 10(10100), or 10googol.

The site was previously occupied by Silicon Graphics (SGI). The office space and corporate campus is located within a larger 26-acre (110,000 m2) site that contains Charleston Park, a 5-acre (20,000 m2) public park; improved access to Permanente Creek; and public roads that connect the corporate site to Shoreline Park and the Bay Trail. The project, launched in 1994 was built on the site of one of the few working farms in the area and was city owned at the time (identified as "Farmer's Field" in the planning documents). It was a creative collaboration between SGI, STUDIOS Architecture, SWA Group, and the Planning and Community Development Agency of the City of Mountain View.[citation needed] The objective was to develop in complementary fashion the privately owned corporate headquarters and adjoining public greenspace. Key design decisions placed parking for nearly 2000 cars underground, enabling SWA to integrate the two open spaces with water features, shallow pools, fountains, pathways, and plazas. The project was completed in 1997. The ASLA noted that the SGI project was a significant departure from typical corporate campuses, challenging conventional thinking about private and public space and awarded the project the ASLA Centennial Medallion in 1999.

STUDIOS Architecture was the architect for the original SGI campus, and provided both interior architecture and base building design.

How is a pattern lock or pin adding security to a fingerprint that cannot be replicated? We should be able to just use our fingerprints only and no stupid pattern or pin.

All the stories you read are true: gyms, juice bars, bikes, laundry, massage bars, free food and 6 types of water. During my visit everyone seemed genuinely nice and excited about their projects.

Worst experience with support centre B2X. Surprisingly mail was sent for quote approval with no option of approve and reject. In turn could not lead me to payment option and cell is hanging since last 8 days.

You cannot go into any of the buildings unless if you get registered as a visitor. If you are able to go inside the buildings, it s really amazing. They have displays in their workspace for people to use. These include 360 Google Maps, Chromebook displays, special artwork, Google history/infographics, and much more. If you aren t able to get inside, they have other things to look at too, such as the Android sculptures, volleyball courts, and more. They also have an arcade.

I LOVED the free colorful bikes that workers can use to get around the campus. Lot's of fun extras for staff: food trucks, Toto toilets, etc. Well, it's Google after all, what else would you expect?!

I want you to play an active part in world peace in the future. There are quite a few stores in the world, but I want you to use Google's talent to persuade them and join them. Their relatives and younger people want to interact with the world.

Love Google and all the apps and things! I use it for just about everything. My only complaint is that THERE IS NO BEAN EMOJI. IT'S UNACCEPTABLE. What if someone needs to say cool beans? Please. The beans. They need your help. You know you can save them. The beans. The beansssssss.

Who designed that new gmail-layout? Some talented millenial? It's just terrible and absolutely not user friendly.I guess I am not alone with this opinion about it.

Really a very bad experience, customer service is very bad and there is not much to see.
My family had the idea of touring the googleplex by bicycle and they scolded us, if you really want to enter the offices you have to meet a person in that place, the rest you will not be able to.

I give them 5 stars Because working here would be my dream job, I love google.

I love Google and everything (almost) they do. It was fun to drive around and see where everything happens. Maybe someday I'll be on their payroll. :)

If I were younger, I would have loved to travel to USA and visited the Google Centale and now I've at least looked at the pictures. I am already 78 years old, until 1980 I lived in a totalitarian state, in the Czech Republic and therefore Czechoslovakia I know what Google does, to show everything openly and that people can appreciate everything possible.

Google has the worst customer service out of any company I've ever dealt with. Basically, it's non existent. Obviously, this is done by design.

Professional who listens carefully to your problems and promptly indicates the best way to solve them.
