Our inverter had a defect and I was able to source an inverter of the exact same model to maintain our current solar rebate. Goodhew Electrical quoted a very reasonable amount for the job, as other Solar installers had over-quoted to try and get the system removed, even though it was a direct swap in. So from that point, they already had a huge plus point. Get home after the job is completed and they did a top quality install. All standards were followed and the job was very tidy and professional. They will be getting my future business from here in on.

I used to be a big fan of this company, but they have seriously lost the plot! It cost me $$$ (thousands of dollars) as a result of their poor advice. Needless to say I have taken my business elsewhere!

Rang goodhew on Wednesday, with a specific repair needed. Was told it would not be able to fit this week but they would book it in next week. Got a quote on price and part cost. They couldnt give me a date for some reason(?) Gave solar panel make, and part needed, home address and phone number etc
Fast forward to next wednesday, i ring them, and ask when they are able to come out. Complete blank. They dont think they have a booking. Then receptionist "ah yea, thats right, i remember, sorry we cant make it out to your house this week"
"Ok but ive been waiting the last 3 days for a call to confirm by booking this week, Were you planning to call me this week?"
Instant hostility and attitude from the receptionist. "i didnt think it was urgent, blah blah blah"
Phone calls are cheap and dont take very long. No excuse for this customer service.
Had solar installed nearly 3 months ago,It was a 5KW system it is producing 30+ Kw on a clear day,got to be happy with that. From go to wo a good experience.

We have numerous products installed by Goodhew over the years. Our most recent dealing was to replace a faulty part on our solar hot water. Prompt and professional service from the moment we called to the when the tradesman arrived.

Wish I could give no stars. Absolutely disgusting service after installation. We live in a property owned by family. We moved in February 2018. In 2016, the original owner had a battery system installed by Gavin Goodhew at Goodhew Electrical & Solar. The original owner of our house was in his 80's and passed away not long after installation of the battery system. We contacted Goodhew Electrical & Solar in April 2018 after receiving a very high electricity bill. It was evident the battery system was not working. It took over a month for Gavin Goodhew to come out and look at our battery system (after he sent someone out who wasn't even qualified in battery systems?!). We were then told Gavin was the only one qualified to work with the battery systems. Gavin reset the battery system and installed updated software. We thought it was fixed. In October we received our next invoice from our electricity provider (they were late in providing invoice). We graphed our bill to try and understand where the cost was coming from. We were receiving a rebate on our solar, which means the solar energy was not getting stored for our home use. The system was still under warranty. We contacted Goodhew on the 29 October 2018 to fix the issue. Since then, they have made no attempt to rectify the issue and the owner Gavin has ignored all our calls and emails. We have since contacted Office of Fair Trading. Goodhew have not agreed to fix the problem or talk in mediation. Apparently it's because there was a verbal agreement with the now deceased owner, that because he (apparently) got a good deal of $12,000, there would be no warranty on the system. This is not legally binding. Gavin claimed he came out multiple times, he came out ONCE! My partner commented on their Facebook, conveniently they were deleted. They were just honest comments about what happened to us. AND.... Love how they're using photos of our house to sell a battery system that lasted less than 2 years. AVOID this business!!!!
The team just installed 10.5kW solar at our home. Gavin was very helpful in assisting us to choose the right size and type of panels with a view to installing batteries in future. Gavin should be proud of his professional team - Clinton, Tom and all. The admin staff (Monique B) is a very professional, helpful staffer who goes out of her way to make everything smooth and hassle free. Would thoroughly recommend The Goodhew team to help you into solar power transition or for electrical work.

Horrible service, technicians spent 14 minutes for a 2 hour service and never advised me when they came in the house. Also sent me screenshots with addresses of other customers and their residences, that is against the privacy and confidentiality act of I'm not wrong. Don't go with this guys, lazy service and Dodgy!!!!

Goodhew installed my solar on the 13th of January. The price was perfect, paperwork was in plain English, most importantly the people were NOT PUSHY, and the reply to questions arrived on the same day. The installers arrived on time, left no mess and did a great job. There isn't anything to complain about, even if I tried.
This Brisbane comany, based at Cleveland in the Redlands, first installed a MonoCrystaline 2.5 kW system on my roof in the Redlands in 2011. When 9 panels developed Snail Trails and I expressed concerns, the panels were replaced promptly under warranty. In due course I had a problem with the inverter and replaced with a more efficient type and 2 extra panels still maintaining the nominal 2.5kW. I always found staff very helpful when I had a question, so when I moved to Central Queensland in February and was getting bamboozled with all different quotes at different prices and models ratings, I got back to Goodhew who gave me a competitive price on a 6.5kWatt system and a special price on a 4.5kWatt Battery installed. This has proved adequate for our needs with a credit from Ergon on a montly bill. We have now used 56kWatts since March as the battery is ample for our needs after sunset and the installation also diverts power during maximum generation times to the Hot Water heater which is less expensive than the Overmight Tariff. The solar meter is read remotely by Ergon and I can also monitor the performance by WiFi. As all of this was recommended by Sales and promptly and efficiently installed by a team who travelled here to do this, I definitely recommend this company for any person considering a Solar Installtion.

AVOID! Gavin Goodhew wrote he d get a statutory declaration his company has NEVER given a 10-year warranty despite 10 years written on the contract and was stated on his website, which is now removed. Disgusting, disgraceful service. Gavin is scheming liar who seems to hide from customers who make these warranty claims (false stat decs can hold up to 4 years imprisonment). Gavin runs the business and would not agree to talk, ignored our calls/emails and is completely non-compliant.
Over email Gavin implied I had "defrauded" the contract (Forging?) and said he'd get the stat dec despite 10 years written on the signed contract. Not honouring the warranty is in breach of consumer law which I pointed out to him, but he instead demanded a warranty slip which doesn't exist. It s now the 5th replacement inverter from Goodhew (due to faults) and now suddenly a warranty slip is needed? No mention of warranty slips before or in T&C and failed to show what one would even look like. Gavin kept reminding me he was a business owner, that we d need to buy a new inverter from him, it came off as rude and greedy like he tried to profit off the situation.
Goodhew s website said it used German certified inverters (now removed) and was told on multiple occasions inverter was German and upgraded model. That s a lie because CEC said it was a Chinese company Yueqing Sandi Electric who made the inverter thus wasn t upgraded at all. I asked Gavin for the relevant [electrical] compliance certificates, but he failed to show me anything. Goodhew s website had brochures that advertised Deluxe german systems with pictures of premium products. In the writing it still has the Chinese made SDS inverters with a misleading picture!
A neighbour of mine has a Goodhew solar system with inverter SDS3KW . They received a letter from Telstra's legal team saying their inverter is emitting electromagnetic interference due to being cheap. Telstra explained the interference is going into the phone lines and causing people's broadband internet to be super slow as far as 200m away. Telstra said dozens of houses all over Redlands using Goodhew's cheap inverters are causing internet problems too and that Gavin is refusing to fix them. The electromagnetic Interference was so bad it can be picked up by standing on the street 10m away with an old AM radio, knocking off all AM stations. The solar inverter does not comply with modern C-tick Australian electrical standards.
Family member of mine managed to speak with Gavin in person, he denied the solar equipment causing broadband issues despite the extensive testing by Telstra s level 2 techs. Gavin expressed the technician didn t know what he was talking about (It's actually Gavin who has no idea what he's talking about). Gavin also said that he had installed Goodhew solar systems for his own neighbours on his street and that he was experiencing internet problems too (seems a little ironic) and we should just pay for 4G. Sales rep Don lie to me about the 10 year warranty as well, Don also incorrectly said Gavin had talked with my neighbour (my neighbour was never contacted by Gavin so that was made up).
The senior electrical safety officer told me Goodhew is going through a recall on their DC isolators. Probably unbranded from china. Gavin stated it was compliant and on the list of approved inverters at the time of installation. The problem isn t the compliance. The problem is Gavin.
Excellent service and great communication. Even when we had some issues, Goodhew were very responsive and turned up when they said they would. I highly recommend these guys and will only use them in the future.
Avoid this company. Gavin Goodhew does not have the faintest idea of what he is doing. He blatantly lies about the quality of the products and will ignore all attempts at contact if you try to make warranty claims.
I was unsure of installing solar as there is a lot of advertisements out there and I found it very confusing.So I contacted a number of Solar companies and as I thought a quite a few of them used the hard sell approach and stated their price would be the best. Goodhew were different they asked me how I used my electricity, what my current usage was (bill) and then built a system specifically for me. They then showed me how it would pay for itself within an acceptable time frame. The workmanship was excellent and they turned up when they said they would. I have recommended Goodhew Electrical & Solar to my friends.
Goodhew was very efficient with obtaining a quotation and in particular dealing with Don was a pleasant experience. Once arranged the installation was arranged efficiently. The first install team had work disrupted due to rain. A second team led by Tom completed most of the work very efficiently and the quality of work very satisfactory. Tom was very pleasant and helpful to deal with and went out of his way to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. The earlier team inadvertently creased some roof sheeting when waking on the roof. The team led by Tom went out of their way to conceal conduits and complete the work to a high standard. The product appears to be working well subject to RedEnergy installing a solar metre. Overall I would recommend Goodhew.

Had Goodhew out just before Christmas. They were recomended to me by a neighbour who had a good experience with them. Ours was a pretty complicated job as they had to upgrade the Distribution Board and fit in with other contractors as, we were having our roof and AC done at the same time which meant multiple visits by them. After that the inverter installed failed aswell! Goodhew bent over backwards to make sure they did everything to fit in with our renovations and responded really quickly when a problem was identified. Would definitely recommend them.
My enquiry about installing solar panels was met promptly. In no time a sketch and quote was provided at my home. At installation it became obvious not all panels would be in adequate sunshine and these were not installed with subsequent reduction in the charges. The office staff were enormously helpful with the paperwork required.
It was an easy choice for me as to who I would get to install my solar system when I bought my new home. Goodhew installed solar on my parents house back in 2009 & they have been extremely happy with their service since then. My parents have had an inverter fail & Goodhew have replaced it within the week. I have heard of other companies taking down the faulty inverter & sending it away before finally re-installing it months later, leaving them without solar. A friend of mine got a very large company to install their solar at a cheaper price then what I paid but hasn t been able to contact the support area for this company on the phone since. I m very happy with the products, with the install & the service received so far from Goodhew.
Very rapid response when initial call determined that one of two inverters had failed (not installed by Goodhew but the inverter did last 10 years almost to the day) so a good innings. Goodhew replaced both inverters with one large up-dated inverter. This is repeat business for me as I had them install another system elsewhere approx 6 years ago which has given no problems. When I make the decision to go off the grid, Goodhew will be my first solar company to call
We purchased a home with solar already installed. We weren t sure what it was, how big it was or even if it worked. We contacted Goodhew & had them come around to do a maintenance. We were very happy with the technicians who came out. They checked the system over, explained everything to us, showed us how it worked & how to read the inverter. Funny thing is, it turns out that Goodhew themselves installed the system in 2012 & its still going strong. If there is ever a problem with the system in the future we will be sure to contact Goodhew.
We are now completely off grid and grateful for Goodhew s know how and service. It was not an easy decision because I struggled with the advice by most sales people and great that I discovered them. The whole logic with connection to automatic-starting back up generator and to the internet and my iPhone etc was well explained. Everything now installed and we are able to do the cooking (induction) and have hot water etc all of the same solar/battery (lithium) system. We didn t want any gas bottles etc so pretty cool that we are having long hot showers without any damage to the planet and to our wallet.
Gavin and his team did a full solar install at my new house some three years ago. The work was exceptional, well finished, cost effective and certainly ticked all my boxes for solar. A measure of success of the install is evident in my last three quarterly electricity bills being zero. Follow up service for maintenance has also been carried out efficiently. I highly recommend Goodhews for any solar work and support 5 Stars for the company.
