my Mum had to be dragged "kicking and screaming" (joke) into Aged Care at the age of 88 after many many falls. she is so independent that she would not live with any of us. Good Shepherd accommodated Mum in one of their Hostel style rooms ..........and her 17 year old dog. I cannot speak highly enough of the care, love and attention to her every needs that the staff at Good Shepherd provide. it is now her "home" and the staff are part of "her extended family", they share racing tips, make sure she has her Lotto on and make sure she has her glass of wine or Recently she had a fall late at night and had to go to TGH. I am telling you this because a)i was notified immediately b) the dog was put on a "care plan" with staff and residents spoiling her rotten c) i would get a call on a daily basis from various members of staff asking how my mum was. some even visited her at TGH with flowers and laughs. Now, at 89 and with the brain, memory, recall of a 35 year old, my Mum would not choose to be anywhere else. thank you to the staff and all concerned with this wonderful and caring facility.
