Really useful place to go for concentrated expertise on all things self build. Good value small cafe with poor coffee but pleasant service.

Great place for checking out building components. However one of the theatres has a faulty microphone system which they seem incapable of fixing.

Really informative renovation tour. Gave us a much better idea of what we've let ourselves in for.

Really good permenant exhibition for anyone looking to self build a new home, or renovate or improve an existing home. Particularly interested in the renewable energy exhibits.

Very well laid out, reliable and authoritative free advice. Whether contemplating or undertaking a build or renovation project (our's is renovation) this is a great place for ideas and guidance in all areas of that.

Enjoyed being here, good social distancing measures in place, and learnt a lot from the exhibition.

Highly recommended to anyone considering building work, whether self building a new home or even someone paying a contractor to do an extension. I'm a civil engineer and it was useful and informative for someone with knowledge in the industry!

I went on a self build project management course at the NSBRC. I thought I knew quite a bit but went anyway. It was amazing !! I picked up so many useful bits form the course ... it literally helped with everything as soon as I got back home. Also great to meet the other self builders. Fantastic to have a NSBRC in the UK. Thank you to everyone there !!

Really interesting place full of varied products. Went here for a seminar and spent most of my lunch trotting around looking at stuff. Not that I can afford to build my own house but I reckon it's a great starting point if you're interested in finding out how!

Plenty of design innovations here and useful if you work in construction or are looking to design your own build or refurbishment. They offer courses on various design/build/refurb areas, as well as renewable technologies.
Staff are helpful. There's also a cafe.

Full of great ideas for house and extension designs very useful day out.

If your looking at a Self build or even improvements to your existing property its a great place to get ideas of what building methods and products are available.

It's a strange place, was in one of the conference rooms for uni lectures but loads of free parking little cafe for hot and cold drinks but not much in the way of food. Loved looking around the show homes.

One of the must visit places for self builders and renovators. Open to the public. Wonderful range of building services

Great place to view various options for home building and a renovation. Stands are unstaffed so you can strolls around without being bothered by sales people

The centre is a great resource for self-builders and runs many seminars, workshops and Q&A sessions. A few times a year there are big shows where you can meet and talk to professionals. There is nowhere else quite like the centre in the UK. It is well worth a visit and to wonder around perhaps during the week (where its much less busy).
For many people the NSBRC is an importaint first step along the self-build journey. It is particuarly strong on build systems and energy systems where you can learn a huge ammount.
Highly recommended.

Great place if your planning for a project just don't go mad with the scanner for products to get sent to you. Our postman still doesn't talk to us !!
