Golf Hotel René Capt Review

We spent two nights in this hotel. Great spacious room with balcony overlooking the lake. Room met our expectations. Breakfast buffet is fine. Service from the staff is very good, friendly and helpful. Private parking not available but it is possible to purchase a day ticket at the reception. The railway line runs at the front of the hotel, but our room was at the back (lake side) so we had no noise pollution. Beautiful location.

The pasta I absolutely do not recommend. But my girlfriends who took meat and fish were satisfied

The staff are welcoming and helpful and their location is excellent. There is a restaurant and breakfast is excellent and there are parking spaces outside. The parking time is 3 hours 7am to 7pm and after 7pm, free to 7am, you have to time 10am for free and then move the car on Sunday.

It is hardly better. Everything perfect. Quiet location, ambience, views and right on the beautiful promenade ONLY with the parking lots: "Hope that one is free in front of the hotel, does not really fit the rest :-("

Queen museum and Freddie statue are great as queen fan.

Directly in front of the hotel were three supercars and a heavy SUV with the hotel written on it. Parking for guests is limited - which is nothing unusual in cities.
The further path then leads into a really nice lobby with a fantastic view over the lake. The garden is also very well maintained. I can't say more good things about the hotel.
We saw a friendly employee. Everyone else was just doing their duty. The elevator and kicking the stairs were modern 50 years ago. Room 247 is shabby and dirty. There is no intermediate door, so you can hear every movement in the hallway and out of the elevator. Sleep was out of the question. The TV is about 5m away from the bed.
Breakfast was on the lower limit. Although we were the only guests, it was not possible to choose a seat in the breakfast room. The bent cheap cutlery does not meet expectations.
Unfortunately you have to award a star, but it's still too much.
I cannot recommend the hotel and will not book it again.

Small rooms, poor service, very bad staff attitude, no concierge .

The room was very clean - but the tiles in the bathroom could be repaired. The hotel gives the impression of four stars, but for me it is only three. The service at breakfast and in the restaurant is impossible. At dinner there is no refill, nor is it asked whether everything is ok or whether you want something. Empty tables sometimes stand for 30 minutes before they are cleared. The same goes for breakfast. Coffee, etc. is available to order, sometimes you are already finished with breakfast before you are even asked about the drink. Once in the morning about 10 tables were empty, but not newly set. When I took the liberty of placing my juice on a table that had not yet been set in order to get the further breakfast at the buffet, I also had to get a text from the waiter. Something like that doesn't work. The selection at the breakfast buffet is rather poor. Maybe it is in the French. Switzerland also standard, but with 4 stars I'm used to different things. My highlight was the German-speaking lady at the reception - she is my heroine. Not only would you have made your parking space available for me so that I can have one for my car (it is a bit difficult to park on the street and the hotel only has 10 spaces of its own - but there is constant coming and going, it will always be something free), no, she always had an open ear, was friendly and explained everything we wanted to know very well to us. She gets 6 stars from me!

Nice hotel. The view from the balcony is amazing. Rooms are quite big. Breakfast is ok. They are trying renovate the rooms and sometimes smells not very good.

I was in Montreux last summer (2017) and had a great time! They gave us a room with a balcony and a magnificent, wide and comfortable lake view. Too bad because there was no air conditioning and having gone in August it was really hot in the room. Apart from this, a wonderful view, a beautiful place with a small garden where you can sunbathe and in front of the lake, where there are ladders and you can come in and bathe in summer. The staff is very kind and the hotel is very close to the center. You can take a relaxing walk along the lake and visit Chillon Castle, a short distance from the hotel.
I would definitely go back and highly recommend it! A dream place

The hotel is located in a lakeside environment. It is far from the train station and requires a bus. It is a 1-minute walk to the bus stop. The hotel has a free bus pass for passengers (in 2017, I have it in Montreux, Luzern), remember to ask.

A man in the reception said we broke a vase just because the closed the door at it

Hotel with a lot of character, for breakfast the Corona concept should urgently be adapted.

the house is a bit old but very clean rooms. The menu in the evening was not enjoyable. The breakfast was absolutely okay.
Friendly service at the reception and in the dining room.
We had a special arrangement with a good price.
Except for dinner, we are completely satisfied with this hotel.
It worked for us, we'll be back.
Only three stars because of the really inedible dinner.

Excellent hotel !! I only noticed 2 small problems: the height of the shower and the policy related to the public parking that is in the surroundings.

Beautiful location. Lovely hotel. Great lobby space with lovely views of the lake. Nice big triple room but smallish bathroom.. we would've prefered a shower cubicle to a bath tub Some rooms have stunning views of the lake though we weren't lucky. Courteous and helpful staff.

Amazing view and location. Simple, elegant and clean . Breakfast is very good. Lounge is cosy and beautiful. I truly recommend it.

Very nice Hotel with lovely views over the Lake and close to Chateau De Chillion. Very convenient for the City only a short lovely lakeside walk away. Not far from the Railway Station and Lake Ferry Excursions on the Paddle Ship Vevey.

As is often the case for family hotels in Switzerland the hotel would need refreshing, but the view of the lake is impregnable, all at a reasonable cost. A little less for the noise of the train that will disturb some ...

The hotel is NOT a 4-star hotel.
The room was big, but the furnishings are old, have little to offer and the bed, totally hard and uncomfortable. A single soap dispenser and towels in the bathroom. That's it! And then the cheeky sign that the soap dispenser is not to take away! Doesn't work at all.
Dinner insufficient, too little. The breakfast minimalist and of poor quality. We left a day earlier than planned. Guests cannot be satisfied with just a beautiful view.

Beautiful lounge and lake view. Breakfast was amazing - lots of delicious food on offer. The rooms were spacious and comfortable though my parents had an issue with noisy neighbouring guests. This was resolved though.

One of the most beautiful hotels in Montreux, especially the rooms with views of Lake Geneva. This hotel has an entrance to the Geneva Lake Walk and is close to the city center and has excellent views and you can reach the nearby mall by foot 5 minutes and you can walk out of the hotel From the main door you enter the city center which is 7 minutes away

Wonderful location but the hotel needs to be renovated. It s not a good option at summer because all rooms are not air conditioned.

Fantastic lake facing hotel .. lovely renovated rooms .. lovely lovely balcony .. (bathroom layout and shower area needs some improvement since the soap dispenser is very awkwardly placed) .. Absolutely fantastic terrace and lobby area and divinely good food and dessert served on the terrace , marginally more than a good restaurant but the lake view and terrace ambience completely makes up for the value difference.. I would definitely stay here again ..

The Alfio is very cool on Lake Geneva .. Take care of the rooms in the upper floors

Hotel with an incredible view of the lake and mountains. The service was very nice and helpful. Food in the restaurant was also delicious. Everything together has ensured a relaxing weekend!

Magnificent hotel, the garden being its strong point. Very pleasant reception, room with a bit old appearance but that's how some people interpret luxury. On the other hand, a little disappointed because there is a hair in the drawer of the bedside table, cobwebs in the corner of the ceiling and a rather charming little trace (irony of course) at the bottom of the toilet. Despite this, we had a very nice view of the lake and the hotel garden, with the nice little balcony.
Very large quality TV, small bathroom but very cute, very comfortable bed, we had a very good night.
We still have tomorrow however, the stay is not really over yet, I would of course modify my comment if any inconvenience occurs.
I was with my boyfriend, who is an adult and I look very young when I was 17, so people were staring at me but hey, that's the habit.
One of the bartenders was just perfect, really lovely, he chats with you, listens to you, he makes a mojito worthy of the name, freshly made in front of you and is a very good company, he is the small man, Portuguese and a little chubby than his colleague (in case you want to know if you go).
We did not have dinner there as the price is expensive and I am complicated about food so there was no point paying for anything.
The center is right next door, very quick lake access, and a ton of shops a few yards away. The hotel is a little illuminated at night as is the garden, a positive point to add.
Free parking on Sundays and public holidays otherwise there is a 10francs card which gives you access to the parking for as long as you want.
Otherwise I think that's it, hope it's detailed enough for you.
The breakfast, I imagined better, it is good, rather pretty but considering the price of the hotel, I imagined a breakfast, arranged very nicely, a more friendly waiter, and much more choice, (for the greedy like me, I would like to point out that there is unfortunately no Nutella).
But the stay is still very pleasant so far, I take advantage and do not let myself be fooled by small faults such as the spider web or the breakfast server.
The view will mesmerize you throughout your stay.

PS: if necessary the price of the hotel bar, 16francs a cocktail and a soda such as a Nestea or Coke costs 5.50.

Small precision, you have several cushions in the bed and I swear that it is really the top, compared to the other hotels and their single cushion which always flattens under the weight of your head.

A beautiful view of the lake !! Flat for the tray of courtesy supplied only on our arrival and the breakfast not extraordinary but as it is included in the night it can go.

Very nice view of the lake from the room. We came in the summer and it was rather warm in the room. The possibility of free parking in the street of the hotel is appreciated.

The paradisiacal site, although the room smelled stale and I did not. I could shower because the tap was bad. I had to go to the other room and I got quite angry. I said it at the reception the next day, but we were leaving. They did not have any detail for it

Great hotel with good price value. Excellent breakfast and cozy rooms.

It's way too expensive for what it is. Room in poor condition, no battery in the remote control and the view on a wall. Not having air conditioning, you have to open the window and there, it's the train which passes every 10 minutes which makes an unbearable noise. The staff were very pleasant but I will not be going back.
