Snake River Adventures and Riverquest Excursions Review

Best crew of Capt. Eric and Capt. Cameron. Trip was leisurely and equally exciting. Enjoyed the rush of the rapids and swerving across the river, but never felt anything less than trust for the Capts. With a less than full boat it was easy to move around and view everything that was pointed out to us. A relaxing lunch on the river with beach for swimming. We didn't swim, but many enjoyed the slow current and brisk water. A thoroughly satisfying adventure and great memories of touring the Snake River in Hell's Canyon. Worth the price!

We had an awesome day on the half day tour. They did a great job. They were entertaining and informative. The lunch break was so relaxing in the orchard. We'd love to do this again.

I took a jet boat trip with my family a few years back with SRA. It started and finished after a loop upriver and back at Pittsburgh Landing near White Bird ID. My mother in law had traveled in from out of state and wanted to see the area from a jet boat. I've lived here for years and it was the first commercial river trip for all of us. We were excited.
The trip upriver was pretty good. We took a lot of great pics. We had the boat almost to ourselves.

UNFORTUNATELY.

"Captain Nate" evidently considers himself something of a practical joker though and this is the reason for the single star. On the return trip, after being pretty quiet the whole time, he asked me to change seats to the left rear side. This, he said, would help to balance the craft in the rapids coming up. I obliged since he's the one with the experience and it seemed to make sense. Then, in a pretty obvious move, as we came through a small choppy set of white caps the "Captain" turned the boat hard to the right sending a curtain of water onto me, my phone and my camera.

I was seething mad. I couldn't even speak to this moron as he giggled and pretended to apologize. WTF? Anyway, he had a good laugh, but I didn't forget it and here's the review to document my first and last trip with SRA.

I'm sad, because I'm certain there are thoughtful and intelligent people who are making their living there and I debated to even mention this as it's not NY desire to harm anyone. Just be forewarned.

Any thinking captain could've just asked "hey, who wants to get wet? We're going through rapids and the water will come over the side and you'll love it."

OR THIS

"Hey, put away your electronics, we may get water coming in over the side in the section coming up! "

But, not our guy, no. It was only important that he had a good laugh (hahaha) at the paying customer with spendy, and not water proof gear.

My wife got me this half day for my birthday. This was an amazing day on and off the river. 100 degress is perfect in August! Lee and Kaden were great and had the answers to all questions. I learned and had a blast swimming and jumping into the river. This trip will always be at the top of my memories! Thanks!!

Took this trip as an excursion from a river cruise boat & was beyond thrilled! An absolutely amazing trip! Knowledgeable & helpful guides, stunningly beautiful scenery & a unforgetable experience! No question I would take this trip again. Thanks so much fir an unforgetable experience!

my wife and i just got off a half day trip with cameron the first mate and captain i think nick. what a great crew very informitive very knowledgable i would recommend this company and crew to anybody that wants to have a great time and a box lunch that is great . five stars all the way even with no forks lol

Do you want to go so far up a river that the world seems like a speck on the moon? Well then, get in touch with these guys. They have great trips lined up for you. We did the half day jet boat tour. You can pick what suits you. Their staff is very experienced, friendly and helpful. They know how to show you around. On the other end, there's a nice lodge with great food. The price for their tours is too less for what you get. Totally worth it! Go build memories that will last forever!

I'm sure they offer an excellent service, my son and I were very much looking forward to going on a tour with them. We were driving in from Salt Lake City for a tour we had booked with them three months in advance, we were 9 hours in to our 11 hour drive and they text me our trip was canceled. This was only 19 hours before we were scheduled to be on the tour. The explanation given was a family canceled at the last minute and they can't send it out with nobody on it and lose money. I'm sympathetic to them running a business but canceling on me 19 hours before the tour that I had booked for three months is unacceptable in my opinion. My son and I were unable to find a replacement tour at such a late notice and I ended up going to the next destination on our vacation a day early and eating a $104 hotel room and adding several hundred miles for an unnecessary stop. They gave me my deposit back but only offered an apology otherwise. I thought long and hard about how to handle this and leaving a review seemed like the fairest option. They cost me money, and time on my family vacation with my son. It was very upsetting. I wish it had not come to this.

Just keep it in mind when booking with them. Based on other reviews this does not seem to be a consistent problem but there is a chance they will cancel on you without notice.

A great trip for the whole family. We did a half day and our oldest went with us and he had a blast. I would highly recommend it.

Snake River Adventures gave us a great boat tour of the river. Our captain was informative, creative and adventurous. The lunch stop half way through the tour was very impressive! We were so happy with our day spent riding on the river.

Awesome experience in hells canyon today! We saw lots of animals and even watched a Sturgeon get reeled in from some fishermen and our 3 year old got to get his picture with it. Nate and Cameron are great dudes and we learned a lot about hells canyon abd we have lived here our whole lives! 6 stars for this company and guys!

Perfect 1/2 day trip. From the history of the river to the jokes and laughing is was great. Will do it again

What a great day we had. Eric and Caden Elben were fantastic. Saw so many big horn sheep. Lunch was great. Such a fun day! I would recommend to everybody.

Great trip! Eric and Randy were incredible hosts. The six hour trip was informative and enjoyable. I would recommend this day trip. They kept us entertained, fed and watered. The view of the canyon going up the river was pretty amazing, and the ride coming down was fun! Cool trip on a hot day!

That was an awesome experience. We did a half day boat trip from Lewiston. It is a must do. The captain was very friendly and knowledgeable about the whole thing, the geology, the river, the wildlife, the stories about the history and of course his boat. Our captain is doing the job now for nearly 20 years and you feel like he's doing it with great fun and enthusiasm every day! I recommend to book only the half day tour. You will not see much more during the full day but this tour can be really exhausting because the movement of the boat gets more and more exhausting.
