Three weeks in February 2020. Great RV park. Agree with most of the positives. What would make it fantastic: Better Internet and less sand everywhere. It makes a mess.
We stayed at Golden Shore RV Resort in September 2018 for 5 days. It's located at the water front of Long Beach, CA. The setting is nice and well kept. It has code operated gates for security. We used it to park our trailer as a base camp to explore attractions in LA and didn't used the pool and other facilities in the park so we couldn't comment on that. On the last day of our stay, we actually felt sorry that we didn't book for a week as the weekly rate was only $40 more than what we paid for. We could have more time to enjoy the surrounding area.
The RV sites are not too spacious, a California thing I guess. It's just wide enough to park my trailer with 1 slide-out and have the tow vehicle parked besides it. The hook-ups are conveniently located at where they should be and that gets full mark. The reason I didn't give it a 5 star was lack of WiFi as advertised in their web site. Only a notice posted in the office counter saying WiFi was not available due to building renovation but not a word was mentioned on their web site.
the pitches are very small and are incredibly close and lie on sloping grounds, it is very inconvenient, no green areas
Very very nice RV resort. This place is for urban campers and it couldn t be more perfect...close to lots of restaurants, breweries, the Aquarium, the Queen Mary, etc. You don t need a car to camp here and what a lovely place. Super clean grounds and facilities, a sweet and friendly staff and spacious spots. All spaces come with full hook ups and there is the usual laundry, showers, small store for sundries and a tiny but very useful dog park. It is easy to get to which is another plus. The only thing we are sorry about is that we did not have enough vacation time to stay longer. We will be back. Thank you Golden Shores for a fabulous vacation!
Clean and neat place. We stayed here for one night to visit LA. Unfortunately it was far from downtown LA and Hollywood. It took 1 hour by public transport. Great place when you want to visit Long Beach or LA when you stay for more than 1 night.
I went to visit friends so I actually didn't spend the night. And I've never had an RV vacation or anything like that but wow! This place was so clean and the community was so nice.
Small not much there did go down the bike trail behind RV park seen this cool sign of long beach thats a 4 star!
I've stay here a few times. Great park and Esmeralda is great!
A bit pricey, but the location is great. 10 min to the airport, 10 minutes to city center. If you take a bike it's a short ride to the beach.
This is the finest r. v. Resort in L.A. county!...next to some of the finest restaurants in california in beautiful downtown long beach!..i love it here!!!
Great place for visiting LA, good and neat toilet and showers.
A very rewarding experience, facilities with all kinds of details and amenities
Super clean campsite. We'll be back!
Stayed over to go to big birthday party at the Hilton. Who thought camping in the city would so cool?!
While the park is clean, etc it is not safe. On two different nights we have had our wagon, a full propane bottle, and a locked bike stolen. Campers beware! I would not recommend staying here.
Very good! The best I stayed in California. Highly recommend to everyone staying in LA. Very safe, pass security. Located on Long Beach, it is about 15 kilometers from Carson / LA's Cruise America RV. Excellent service, clean bathrooms, large laundry, heated pool and jacuzzi. Vacant parking lots sites with good electrical, water and sewage connections. Price + -U $ 100.00 per night. Make your reservation in advance! Ever! In all RV Resort! And I only suggest staying at RV Resort, because only in them you find safety, electricity, water and sewage and clean bathrooms, laundry, because it is jacuzzi. In them, I always recommend two nights. And in this specifically, the Golden ashore, I suggest the first and last night, as it is near to withdraw, adapt, acclimate, and at the end of the trip, return your RV on Cruise America. Attention! I never recommend sleeping on the street, or in Walmart parking yards, supermarkets, Outlets, etc. and not any other, as they are very unsafe, dangerous, walkers are everywhere and in LA and such places have no electricity. And in winter it is essential to turn on the electric heating of the RV. Never park your RV between two spaces as you will be locked. Just park it in the last two spaces, right at the end and in the corner of the parking lots, so you can safely leave the parking space. And always, always ask someone to get out of the car and help you back up and if possible take a portable reverse camera and plug it into a GPS. Beware of tree branches as they do not appear on cameras or reverse sensors, but hit the roof of the RV!
This place is very convenience specially if you are in Long Beach for business, everything is close and the most important the staff is very friendly and professional.
I love the convenience of this RV resorts. You're located close to everything.
Great little Resort! Esmeralda at the front office is the best!!! Excellent service. Close to the Pike and the Aquarium. Walking distance.
Love this place! Fire pits, swimming pool, spa, laundry room and a little dog play area. Definitely going to be coming to this park a little more frequently.
It's a little retreat tucked away into the downtown Long Beach area, hardly noticeable unless you are staying there. Nicely kept RV park with a pool (5ft. depth max), hot tub (adults only), and showers in the bathroom facilities. There is also a little laundry room with coin-op machines by the pool. The fire pit is also nice. You definitely do not feel like you are in the city while staying here.
A very nice RV park and perfect located close to the City and with all necessary for your RV. Perfect place fora reasonable charge
I didn't stay, I was working at Flood control pump station...
We loved the location. It was walking distance from tons Long Beach fun spots and most importantly the the Catalina ferry. The campground was clean and had everything we needed, clean
restrooms, showers, laundry facilities and camp store. The staff was friendly. We loved spending the day site seeing then coming back for a soak in the spa. The spots a kind of small, but we expected this so close to the ocean. Spots are first come, first serve, but the best spots are down the middle with grass and palm trees.
This is our 2nd stay at the conveniently located park in downtown Long Beach. We stayed for 3 nights total.
Pros:
-Close to major attractions including the Aquarium, Catalina Ferry, Queen Mary, & Rainbow Harbor.
-Close to a good variety of restaurants to choose from.
-Pool and Spa is a big plus for the kids.
-Staff was friendly and helpful.
-The park is secured by a gate which requires a code to access.
Cons:
-WiFi access is works 25% of the time and it is not free.
-Very close to street traffic which is also noticeable at night.
-No awnings or any sort of tent covering allowed which is unheard of.
My wife uses an electric wheelchair and it was not clear which was the best path for her to get out of the park, but the staff was quick to react and came her aid before we had a chance to act. Thanks!
the park itself is great overall, but there is a sewer right next to the space and it HAS ANTS. we went to the front office and told them and they knew about it!!! said it happens frequently in warm weather. they invaded our class A motorhome and now we have to spend money to get rid of them. guy at the office said "I will write it down again and see what we can do about it." they mixed up our reservations when we reserved a spot a few months in advance, but showed up a few days earlier. they said we could switch spots and then said we couldn't!! and they are very pricey. and also lied about the wifi
We were surprised .... spectacular !!! Close to everything .. super friendly
Nice place. Staff is accommodating and the atmosphere is peacful. Semi close to restaurants and some shopping. What i will remember most is waking to the horns of the ships in the harbor. Large, deep, throaty blasts from the the pleasure cruisers at the docks across the bay.
The service is too bad, too bad, too bad, and some service personnel said that let me shut up, the attitude is arrogant, for our travel friends, it is simply discrimination. Poor difference!
I stay behind the place. It looks like a nice place.
Nice pool, nice location. Wifi didnt work for me either ipad and laptop. Told them we prob would stay two nights but only paid for one, so the next day we rebooked but they made us moved (knowing we most likely would stay two nights, they should of made sure we had a spot available for two) other then than staff and other residents really friendly. Easy RV parking would give then 5 but kinda screwed my second day by moving. ;)
Nicer park. Clean and gated. Has dog run and lots of things to do. Everything you need is within a short bike ride.
This place is great for long beach...must stay for rv
Was in route to San Diego and a hose came loose leaving me broken down in a very bad area. After hours with no help from Triple aaa I decided to try and make my way to long beach
I called the golden shore rv park amd was told to head over and they they would find me a place to stay the night. Upon arrival I was very shaken up in tears etc.. I'm a small female broken down in the heat of Compton. I was welcomed with a hug and a bottle of water. I ended up staying the weekend and having a very nice time. My hubby arrived and together we enjoyed long beach very much. The park is clean and reasonable. Booked to return in Jan.
It's clean. Grass and landscaping is well maintained. Very clean showers and bathrooms. But the only downside is that the spaces are to close to eachother and I didn't see any Security personnel at night. Our neighbors stay talking at loud and drinking till 12:15 a.m. other than that it was okay.
Quite pricey but the facility looks good and clean big down fall for me was the wifi not working and if it did it was only enough to load a webpage just barely, but my biggest issue was the sand omfg the sand! Need to change it to gravel or concrete section you can step in and out of your RV on to.
Nice place, but too loud due to the adjoining streets.
Beautiful people ,
beautiful venu and view of the ocean.
This place was very nice. Now the people is very low class. The pool is open to the public. Very poor management. No one follow the rules.
Alway clean well care for good for families and just relaxing
I've been to a lot of RV parks but this one takes the cake. I love this place a lot, the staff was very friendly and helped me look for places in long beach. The wi fi was surprisingly good. I will always be coming back here for my motor home stay
If i can give a 0 I would. Esmeralda is a piece of work if you can avoid doing business here do not deal with her. She mislead us about this business very badly. If she is doing this at a business that isn't hers; what is to stop her to misrepresent who she is as a representative of the company.
2nd time we've been here & will likely be back again.
Would get five stars but a 2 hr max for visitors during the week is ridiculous! Guests have to go out the gate to a metered parking..what is that about!!!?
Used this RV park upon arrival with our RVs for the first night after we arrived.
The park is clean and quite well maintained, there is basically everything you need for a short stay.
Very good and safe RV Park is very well maintained. The sanitary facilities should be highlighted positively.
My wife and I stayed at Golden Shore RV Resort from May of this year until today. We are both travel nurses and are in Southern California on assignment. Our stay here has been phenomenal. The area is beautiful, the weather is fantastic, the bike path is amazing, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms and showers are immaculate. We felt very safe taking 5+ mile walks at night. I couldn't recommend Golden Shore enough. We really enjoyed it and hope to be back some time!
Clean nice park! Close to outlet and lot's of restaurants, beach. Most convenient by car however a 20 to 30 mins walk is also an option!
A great, amazing place to be in. I had a lot of fun with my family and the staff were awesome and helped me out with all the questions that I needed especially kevin. The pool was nice and heated and the restrooms were super clean. The high speed wi-fi was also really good. I will defently come back to stay again.
I haven't stayed there yet but have plans to for next year. They were very kind to let us in to see the campground and we liked it. See you soon thanks
Great little RV park right in the middle of downtown Long Beach and the busy Port and yet remarkably peaceful and pleasant. Fairly small park so sometimes hard to get in here. Very well run with manicured landscaping and spotless bathrooms. Lots to do and eat right at your doorstep.
Clean and nice place. Close to the pike and dowtown. Pool is warm amd clean restrooms. They dont allow kids in hot tub. Staff is always great.
Worst customer service, felt like I was dealing with a landlord just to go camping.
So clean and welcoming. Our second time here and both times our DG pad was raked clean with no tire tread marks or boot prints!
Small and cozy, very clean. Has a general store, free DVDs to borrow, loved it!
Friendly,
Nice and Quiet
The sites are a little small but that is my only complaint the Employees are very friendly and very helpful. The pool showers are very clean and nice sized. It's location is walking distance from the board walk. And very close to everything we wanted.
Highly recommended, nice place, nice pool, good facilities and clean.
Very nice area, rent a bike and flanner along the beach, there seems to be no end to it.
Nice restaurant in the area, especially Bubba s Scrump. Run Forrest Run
Nice park close to downtown but there's dirt in each space and it trickles onto your floors.
My husband and I stayed here in Aug 2019. If our trip was specifically to hang out as a couple, we would have had a great stay, and likely this rating would have been 5 out of 5 stars for everything. Our goal was to have friends and family visit sporadically throughout the weekend, and we found out quickly that this is NOT the place for us if we intended to have visitors. Parking is a problem EVERYWHERE in Long Beach, and this place is no exception. The problem comes in when they block off visitor parking with cones, restrict it to one car, two hours per site PER DAY, despite the fact there are several empty spots. They won t work with you at all. My family member got a two hour pass while waiting for a parking spot in the few metered spots out front to become available. One was available quickly, so he moved his car. We took the pass back in the office and asked for a different pass so another family member could utilize the two hour parking until another site opened up. That s when we learned about the limit of one two hour pass per site per day. It s really ridiculous.
We had a visitor come visit for an hour when the office was closed. We tried to call to find out how to get them in, but it went to vm. We just had them park for an hour, and when we came out, a worker had already ticketed their car and said they were about to call a tow truck. Not a very welcome greeting!!
The manager was the only one who helped at all. She recommended places to park, but nothing was a decent option.
This place is all about the R&R, and I m not referring to rest and relaxation. Read those rules and regulations!!! I suggested an addition to the R&R that might be helpful to people (instead of don t do this and don t do that ) and they had no desire to even consider my suggestion.
I have not experienced what they experience, but I just feel like there s got to be a kinder way to handle things and talk to people.
Bottom line, it was an overall frustrating trip with regard to dealing with the staff. We will find another place to stay so we can have visitors when we re in California.
I visited friends at Golden Shore RV Resort, but if I had an RV, I'd certainly stay there. Quiet, clean, security gates, right in the heart of anything one would want to do in the area.
Campground in Longbeach near the financial district. We chose this one only because it was near the RV delivery point. Decor was everything ok and clean
This place is so cool ,and close to a lot of fun things to do.
Very clean. Nice pool spa and laudry. Poor wifi. But not the better place in LA.
This is a beautiful urban RV park right next to the Long Beach Financial district. The staff is friendly and helpful. Spaces are a little tight but completely understandable given the value of this property. I would not hesitate to stay here again. If there is any negative to this park at all it would be the LA traffic one has to drive through to get here.
Very narrow, little shade and sometimes a bit rude, but very nice
Great park. Friendly residents. Staff a little off. Great walks and bike paths in the area. Close to beaches.
Nicely kept. Many of the sites have artificial turf. The dog run was fantastic for my fur babies and helped keep the rest of the campground clean. The only downer is that WiFi was really, really slow. If that was fixed, it would be 5star for sure.
Great walking paths, next to miles of bike trails, close to restaurants and attractions, can't ask for more... except WiFi.
It is a great RV park mostly because of the location. It is close to the beach, close to the Aquarium of the Pacific, and dog friendly. They offer a pool and showers that are very nice. I only gave four stars because you can't park in their extra parking spaces. Super odd and their dog run is tiny and disgusting. It smells before you get to it. Don't reserve a spot next to it unless you want to smell it the whole time.
RV Parks !! Be aware about this guy !! The lady is crazyyy!!!! The manager and the employee were trying to help them and explained the risk to park their truck in the on the street and the Hispanic lady went through her !!! All the staff do really are on the top to keep the park clean and organize.
The most pleasantly satisfied evening. Wonderful rest.
I hate fake reviews. This is real one. They have REAL grass and are super clean, super well organized, nice pool area and well managed. We are on a 10 day across the USA and this is far and away the best place we stayed. Keep in mind the "camp store" is very limited with not much available.
