Beautiful site with good amenties and free wi fi. Don't go for the "best pizza in town"out of their site map as it was shocking but that's not the sites fault. Conveniently placed to enjoy Long Beach.

They make you sign a disclosure form stating you are aware that personal property is routinely stolen from the site. Yet when they placed me next to the entrance, on the street side, I objected due to my belongings on my rack. The site was half empty, yet the refused to move me to a more secure location. I left. They did refund my money. This is yet another urban parking lot that is not secure. Better to stay in Walmart parking lot for free.
Very clean and well organized small campground. With a little 5ft deep pool and excellent sanitary rooms. However during our stay WiFi did not work at all. Also the container harbour close to the site and nearby road are quite noisy.
Great value for the price. Books up early. Wifi was actually really good during day when everyone else was gone. But it is next to some highways and a DOT building that made loud noises during the day.
Close to most of the "Long Beach To Do" list. The Aquarium of the Pacific, The Pike, Pierpoint Marina, and tons of shopping and restaurants like and Yard House are within walking distance. So location is pretty good for an RV park.
On the other hand the placement of this RV park is not the greatest. It's adjacent to the last exit on the 710 Freeway; bordered on the north by several 12-story office buildings; and bordered on the south by a mosquito estuary (j/k).
Price is fair for what you get. Clean (mostly level) sites, pool, spa, bathrooms, showers, laundry, full hookups including cable, a little general store. Several maintenance & security on the grounds throughout the day and night. The place is entirely chain link fenced in plus barbed wire so we felt pretty safe!
We only stayed one night but we'd come back again for a couple of days.
I have stayed here multiple times. I love staying here. It's a little pricey but the location is fantastic the managers are awesome and generally its my "go to"
The sites have no cement and the rates are very high for having dirt. When it rains, and it did. It is a mud hole causing A terrible mess trying to get from car to rv. The dog run needs to be hosed down daily the urine smell is horrible plus there are quite a few full rv residents. The wonder mgt. That was here a few years back is gone and what they call a store us not at all like it was. It now is VERY sparse. The park is still maintained very well except the dog park. Clean but smelly. On our last day after a BIG mess we went to the office and ask for some kind if rug and they very promptly brought on large outdoor grass carpet. THANK YOU
Truly the best RV park we have stayed in. The park is really clean, bathrooms are nice with spacious showers. The spaces are generously sized and there is lots of green space. I'd say my only complaint, being a dog owner, is that the dog run area is a little small and there's no grass but that truly is a minor complaint as there are plenty of areas to walk the dogs nearby. And the staff here have been AMAZING!! They are the best part of this park. Walking distance to downtown, shoreline park and the aquarium of the pacific.
This park is beautiful and clean. The location is perfect for anyone looking to explore the downtown Long Beach area. The sites are quite spacey and the staff is very professional and kind. Would definitely stay here again. The showers are amazing.
Wonderful location .7 mile walk by the harbor water to many restaurants. Scenic bike path from RV park all around harbor. Beautiful pool. Showers. Quiet at night. Right off end of 710 fwy. Can't ask for more! We will be back!!
The sand stalls are a little messy. But otherwise a good setup. Clean facilities. Everything is easy access . Walking and bike trails are nice convince for walking dog. Long Beach is nearby and can be walked for hours...
The location is great, right next to shoreline village at pierpoint landing and the Aquarium. Thats a 4.0 out of 5.0.
But, via email, im told me there is no availability until November for the time slot so i said i could do other dates & I then asked what days do you have available? They said nothing until November. So i call and they actually had availability & a few empty spots while here.
I'm out here for family & trying to work dates. So on my part, i did not have exact timeframe. When i checked in they explained there is no refunds once paid. So i booked the firm dates & asked if i could add as needed. She said sure but no guarantee. So aporox 15 minutes i came back to add a day and she said i would have to change sites my site was now booked for the extra day. Ill take that but wow they have the same size sites empty & a few too boot but mine is not available an extra day?
Not very cordial and just makes you think, why are you in a customer service business.
In addition, im traveling alone & asked if they help you back in she said no you have to ask someone in the park. Just came frim Orangeland and they were great and insist they help you back in! Both places, Shoreline & Orangeland, said they don't assist & the other does assit respectively due to liability. Ok. So thats fine RVers are always nice and willing to help.
So for staff and reservation the park gets a 2.0 oh and also the lettter about bikes being stolen in the park, so not a safe feeling. Who wants creepers crawling.
For the location 4.0 for proximity to Shoreline. Not a 5.0 because of thefts and transient population (thats on the city of Long Beach not the park).
This place has beautiful views and lots of nice, grassy areas! It s also central to a lot of awesome LA spots. The maintenance is wonderful very clean facility!
However, if you expect to use the bathroom at a normal time, don t come here. All the bathrooms/showers close at 8 pm. They said it was due to people stealing toilet paper (not sure what that has to do with customers now, especially since it s now easily accessible at any store). We had to wait outside of the bathroom several times for them to open it up late (supposed to open at 7:30). We also were never able to get an appointment (?) to use the pool during our stay either. I know there should be Covid-19 changes at each place, but I don t know how you expect people to just not use the bathroom for 12 hours.
We also called several times about availability and they said they were sold out for the week. Called the next day and they magically had several spots open and even vacancies through the night, no reservation needed. The tone of the staff in front was not kind by any means.
The management doesn t seem like they care about their customers. I can see why people have had so many issues here. Overall it s a nice spot well-kept and quiet, great location, but don t expect to take advantage of any of the amenities. I have never left a negative review before, so I m sad we had such a negative experience.
EDIT AFTER RESPONSE FROM OWNER: we actually were never told this until all the bathrooms were locked and we looked on the map sheet at the small piece of paper staples to it.
Try to make reservation but they filtering by name so if your name is NOT white name don't even try it. You send email first with name and date, then I said no space but my white friend got after I got denied.
If you want to be out and about a lot in Los Angeles, this place is too far away. It is right on the freeway, but the traffic makes the drive into the city very tedious. Despite the road, the noise is not annoying because the campground is in a tub. It is very nice, with a pool and worlpool (both heated) With clean, free showers and toilets, and BBQ, picnic, campfire and play area.
The reviews are scaring people away I was looking for a place to spend a week maybe 3 or 4 times a year now I don't know if I want to take a chance I have lots of family in all the LA area and this would be great BUT? We are gone most of the day and mostly just sleep in our trailer.....oh well see if there is any improvement.
It's unbelievable that they think it's okay to charge FULL PRICE on spots A, B& C.These are parking spots, not camping sites!! We were charged full price for weekend ($70!!) On this spot. Although they did their best moving us early the next morning we are still left with bad taste from this place. Would not recommend.
Really nice RV Camp in LA, Long Beach. Not too pricy, nice people in the Office and a small little nice pool and great spa! Nice showers and toilets as well!
Bathrooms aren't very clean and the sewer dump is higher than my rv so that didn't work. Other than that the park is super clean and really close to the beach.
Reasonably comfortable place to stay. Convenient location. Spaces are small and most are dirt/gravel, so quite dusty. As another reviewer observed, there is a significant problem with ants. Being the site is so close to the port, the air quality can also suffer somewhat from diesel fumes. But the pool area was nice and the laundry facilities were inexpensive and worked fine.
Very unhappy about the management's failure to inform us about their apparently lengthy and planned wifi outage. We made a reservation in February for a stay in August, and were expecting wifi access during our stay. We only found out upon our arrival that their wifi was down due to construction. The responsible action for management would have been a simple email to let us know in advance so we could decide whether to change our plans. Or at least a discount on the cost of the site, considering the services rendered were less than we had been told to expect. But we got neither - very dissatisfied with this aspect of our stay. We called the office about this but were told the person we needed to speak with was not available, but that "hey, the wifi is free, so what's the big deal?" Sure, the water is free too, and I'd be pretty upset if we had been given a water hookup that didn't work. Wifi, like water, is a utility that is promised as part of the cost of the site, and not providing the working service or a discount is not acceptable.
Nice location and easy access to the best Long Beach has to offer. There is a jogging/biking trail right next to the Resort. The trail runs thru the local parks, the lighthouse, the Catalina Express station and the main boardwalk with all the restaurants and shops. Perfect view of the Queen Mary and the old Sproose Goose dome. The weather is perfect year around. The park itself is clean, has a pool, a small convenience store, and the staff is very helpful.
First time I stay at this place (recommended by a friend) and I really liked it. Facilities, pool, showers, bathrooms and grounds are well maintained and the resort is gated. Walking distance to the beach, aquarium, bike trails, great dining, freeway access and other nearby attractions/points of interest. I'll definitely go back.
Location, Location, Location. Plus clean facilities, level spots, secure grounds, and a nice greenbelt. Very walkable to rainbow pier and the Aquarium of the Pacific. This is the place to stay for Long Beach and North Orange County beach cities.
Nice RV Park - but the new management is rude - crude - and socially unacceptable. I have been coming here since this place opened. Jener, the previous manager was a very polite gentleman that would do ANYTHING to make the guest happy. Chandra, the assistant manager had been there for many years and was always a shining star with a big broad smile and a great sense of humor. Someone fired Jener and the new manger apparently made life very difficult for Chandra. The new office staff are rude and arrogant. I will not stay here again unless it becomes a matter of sheer necessity. Good people make a business great. At this point I would say that Golden Shore RV Resort is the park of last resort. The personnel suck and the owners should pay attention to reviews about the personnel.
A sour puss manager sends her message to the folks that work there and they pass it to the customers. This place ain't cheap! The experience should be stellar all the way.
Stayed for 2 nights with a 25 'RV here. The noise from the highway and the harbor did not strike us as negative. Staff is friendly. The shop is expensive and very small. <br/> Sanitary facilities are very clean. Pool and hot tub (both pleasantly heated) are also very clean and little used. The sand / fine gravel on the pitches disturbed us - you carry you directly into the motorhome. Small shopping center, aquarium, drive to Catalina, etc. within walking distance.
Really enjoyed our stay at Golden Shores. We ended up needing an extra night due to a family emergency and Esmeralda was a doll and was able to find us a site for the extra night. Excellent location, very clean park. Can t wait to come back next year!
Excellent location, cleanliness, the attention of the staff. The impeccable and heated bathrooms. It has a fairly complete shop. Walking distance from any interesting point of the city, and free shuttle to the center for those who want to walk us.
This beach resort is in a really nice spot. It's a little difficult to get to, but it's got something for everyone. it's got showers, Poo,l Spa, a dog area, a walkway near the beach, and it's not far from the main Boulevard. Also if you think you can just roll up, and stay, think again, you need to make a reservation at least a year in advance to get a spot at this Resort.
Unfriendly and unwelcoming. We stayed for 3 nights, paying a total of $190 (a lot pricier than other RV sites!), so we expected good customer service - as received in all other campsites we stayed at. On our last day we were due to fly back to our hometown late in the evening. We therefore enquired if we could leave our luggage at the reception and take a quick shower upon collecting the luggage later in the day. In response we were told that we could only do one of those things and that she wasn t prepared to allow us two favours . We declined both and left. Very shocking after two weeks of American friendliness and generosity; thanks for the warm send off Golden Shore RV Resort!
RVers BEWARE!!!!! Stayed here while working in LA almost 8 months. Overcharged my card without authorization, did not honor GS discount consistently. When I brought to Shondra's attention upon check out, she pointed to the sign and said No refunds. I wrote an email to the resort Manager, only to have Shondra call me back in her condescending tone. Would not give me owners information to discuss the poor service and fraudulent charges. Now Im forced to share my poor experience with everyone and contact the State of California to find out who the statutory agent is...Crappy....
Clean park. Friendly staff. Sites might be a bit small but certainly adequate. Restrooms and showers are clean, well lit and available 24 hours a day. Conveniently located near downtown Long Beach, Shoreline Village, Catalina Express, walking and biking trail and restaurants. All within a 20 minute walk.
I really enjoyed staying here. It's been a blast with my kids. The staff were very friendly and they did help out a lot surprisingly because most other places don't usually help a lot. The Wi-Fi was very reliable and the place was extremely clean. My family and I will defently be back again soon!
Reasonably priced RV park with nice landscaping. The sites are clean and well maintained. Most of the sites are a hardpacked sand/dirt, there are a couple that are all concrete and a couple that are covered with artificial turf. There is a small bark park that is also covered in artificial turf. Community fire pit and several community tables and BBQs. The bathrooms/showers were clean, showers were hot. Showers are not coin operated. There is a small store with a few items you might need and a few that you might just want (like ice cream).
Sites are FHU, with a hedge between the neighboring sites and a picnic table. There are 4 sites that are nose in and do not have a hedge; this is nice if you are traveling with another RV and at least one is a motorhome. The motorhome can nose in, the other can back in. That way the entry doors face each other and there is a little courtyard between the RVs. These site do not have a hedge.
The sites are not especially large, but are definitely adequate. Folks with slides on both sides of their RV will find that the passenger side slides take up a fair amount of the free space at the site. You are allowed the RV and two additional vehicles at the site as long as the additional vehicles can completely fit on the site.
Easy walk to downtown LB (WTC, Federal Building, etc.) Easy walk to several restaurants, Catalina Express and the acquarium.
There is a bike/walk path along one side of the park (lagoon side). One of our camp chairs was stolen from our site that bordered the bike path; I suspect that somebody on the path climbed over the fence and took it.
I witnessed the on-site staff go out of their way to assist a traveling couple from another country that ended up at the park late at night, after hours. The park was full but they found room for them to park for the night. It would have been easy for the staff to just say they were full and turn them away. Kudos!
Sites are $60 weekday / $69 Fri/Sat, with a discount for a full week. Based on the location, the condition of the park, the condition of the site, the size of the site, the overall cleanliness of the park and the kindness of the staff, and the value, I give them 5 stars.
Stayed in a back-in site with my 28ft trailer. Great location. Facilities are well kept. Expensive - more so during major events, as you might expect. Bicycle theft problem exists to the extent that management has a dedicated, indoor locked space for guest bikes. Niche RV park that won't appeal to everyone. Management was very professional. Neighbors were friendly. I enjoyed my stay.
Unfriendly staff, very noisy because of nearby roads and container terminals. More then 1 1/2 hour with Uber to Universal Studios. A no go rv park for me. Sewers are also bad so there is a weird smell.
Good RV park with easy access to the highway. We stayed there for 3 nights. The area is very clean and you have good parking spaces for the RV (including full hookup). The sanitary facilities including showers are clean and serve their purpose. But we give only 4 stars because the pitch is quite expensive ($ 70) and the WiFi (which is advertised otherwise) is very slow or partly does not work. Nevertheless, a nice and clean area.
Well located, Golden Shores, is within walking distance to many of Long Beaches' many wonderful attractions. The Port of Long Beach bustles with the intriguing business of world import/export and the folks of Long Beach are warm and welcoming. All of the attractions of the Greater Los Angeles metropolis are within easy reach, as long as you don't mind the massive traffic jams....and there's no such thing as "rush hour", if people are awake, there's traffic. So, just plan for extra time on the road and enjoy your visit.
The park itself is compact but very well kept, in fact this is one of the best kept parks we've visited. We have seen few parks where the staff are so committed to a clean, neat and we'll groomed location. Each pad is level and spacious; when an RV pulls out, the staff come by to clean up, water the DG and rake the site completely level again before a new family moves in. The entire park is swept and kept in perfect order daily.
There are only 2 draw - backs to this park. The Manager is dedicated to making sure the rules are STRICTLY enforced, which can cause conflicts on occassion. There is no allowance for consideration of special circumstances that might allow for small deviations. For some this will not present any problems, but know that all the rules are absolutely enforced.
The park is also located in the midst of a very busy traffic pattern, so if you are looking to get away from city noise and traffic, this would not be your choice.
When you consider the park, on balance, it is a good place to stay, so when you're in a Southern California frame of mind do consider Golden Shores. We'll be back!
Close to everything in downtown Long Beach. Short walk to free Passport Bus. Bike path adjacent. Some spaces overlook an estuary. Heated pool and nice greenbelt. Very clean. Can't wait to go back!
Good RV park right in Long Beach, a few meters from the beach, downtown and aquarium. Europeans make the way to the "Mary" on foot.
The nearer to the motorway really does not bother, it lies there in a trough. But you can hear them at night, but less so than the harbor.
Who is not afraid of the public transport in the US: About 10-15 minutes walk to the metro, and with this in 90 minutes to Downtown LA. For small money the whole day mobile! Perfect!
Perfect vacation spot, since close really is only a fifteen minute drive to the address where we had to return the Camper. Town also very nice, beautiful beach, close to the metro, nice cozy restaurants.
NEW MANAGER NEEDS TO GO!!!! We have been going to Golden Shore without incident 3-4 years. Since this establishment has taken on a new manager starting in the summer of 2015 it has gone down hill very fast. All the people that we have met in this RV Park over the years are all very unhappy with the new management as well, nobody want's to say anything for fear they might be asked to leave. The new manager will make up stories to evict a camper. That is what has happened to us. We weren't evicted from the RV Park but she won't let us back in, saying she warned my husband not to fly his droan in the RV Park and that is a flat out lie. The only time that he did fly the droan was to take pictures of the RV Park to make post cards. This RV Park has a lot of people that do extended stays so we have met a lot of great people coming and going thru the RV Park. All of our friends from Northern California loved to stay there when traveling to Southern California and now that we have been treated this way most certainly they will find a new RV Park to stay at.
