Thought we'd pop in for lunch and told there maybe upto a 30 minute wait for food but no longer so we ordered our food got a drink and waited... and waited... and waited and eventually after 55 minutes the food arrived. It was hot and looked ok and tasted good too. It was only when I was more than half way through the food I realised my meal should had had skin on fries not chips and I had chips. I was so hungry that I had just tucked in. When I brought this to the attention on one of the staff he wasn't really bothered and just offered to get me a bowl of the skin on fries but I said no as I wouldn't have been able to eat them. Won't be going again in a hurry... not worth all the waiting

Two for one on the menu so as expected single meals a bit on the pricey side but as two for one excellent value. Driving so on the Pepsi Max and paid an extra 25p to get unlimited, great decision as we spent a few hours eating and chatting.
Will definitely visit again.

I would have said before eating that I was disappointed that the rump and scampi I planned on eating was not available as no rump. However just having the scampi with chips and mushy peas did not disappoint. Thoroughly enjoyed it. My daughter who was dining with me before we go into tier 2 had a burger and we both cleared our plates. I had just enough room for the delicious jam roly poly and custard. Finished off the meal well.
Good service and excellent food all round

Wow service is shocking , we asked for the mixed grill, ran out, we asked for trio of lamb oh ran out we ask asked for the ribs and look at the size of the coleslaw must be running out. Stood at the bar waiting to be served the only one and the bar man manager just went about business his ran out of mojo!! Lot of running and ran outs here and that's exactly what I'm about to do!

This was a birthday treat from my son, with my granddaughter. Ordered a burger, to be told they were still frozen, so off the menu. Asked for a rare rump steak as an alternative, with a fried egg. Steak was overcooked, chewy, and missing the egg. Expensive pub food, even though it's 2 for 1. It's okay, but not the best pub grub I've had sadly
Edit
Another visit, No steak available so I ordered bacon and brie burger, chutney missing, it's not getting any better sadly

The Goldcrest was one of the worst places I have ever eaten at, the food was horrible, the service was shocking; it took us 30mins maybe a bit more for us to order our drinks. When the food finally did arrive, it was cold and tasted like it had just come out of the microwave. Out of 10 I wouldn't even give this place a 1.

We left before ordering because of unhelpful and rude staff. All we wanted was a basic children's dish, but we were led to believe that a children's menu with starter, dessert & drink were needed. When we questioned this, we were told that More

Eaten here loads of times and been really happy but 7 of us ate last night for my mum's birthday and I can't believe how poor the meals were. Thoughts to presentation was just nil for a start off - not one of us looked at our meals with More

No problems here. Good, normal pub grub with good speed. Get 2for1 or expect to pay over the odds. Drinks aren't cheap but acceptably priced. Lots of tables and usually there are lots free. Food stops at 10pm. Lots of family-friendly seating and play areas are both indoors and out. Lots of outdoor seating (including covered).

Standard mainstream pub affair. Food was decent, mainstream pub food. Considering it's a Marstons pub it was surprising to not see Hobgoblin on tap.

Friendly staff though, and everything is kept very clean and nice.

The service here was pretty poor. The food took over 1 hour to come out. When it eventually did arrive it come out separately which meant the family were not eating together. After talking to the waiter and asking them when the food would be coming they advised that there were other tables in front of us. It turned out that they were actually bringing other people's food out that arrived AFTER us, before us. Very poor service, would not recommend.

Waited well over hour n quarter for steak n ribs.when it arrived it was plastered with bq sauce, hate the stuff. Wife's meal turned up with no cabbage how hard is sausage n mash.. No tomato either. Will not be retuning if fact should of asked for money back. If I wanted bq sauce only food I would ask for it. Your menu has no mention of it. Very poor.
