Two for one on the main meals - the food is really good and for the price you just can't go wrong

Down side to yesterday's visit was had to wait for nearly 1 hr for meal when it came it was hot never had to wait that long before nice clean and good atmosphere.

2 half hour wait and still did not get food. We got there got a drink at 6pm and ordered food we ordered steaks. At 6:45 the waitress came and said no rump steak you can have rib eye we said ok. 7:15 came she came over and said we have no rib eye can we chose mixed grill well we said ok wel have also it s been a 75 min wait so far. She said there playing it up now we ll come a hour and 15 later stlll no food they lied to us they was rude and 2 and half hour wait and no food so we demanded our money back. Witch she gave us with a sour face on her and left. Appalling place will never go there again if you paid me. Keep you cheap 241 deals you won t last for long. It s all about customer service and you was all rude,lied and took. I intressd in customers at all.

Went for a drink and a snack, was there for about 1.5 hours. Atmosphere was similar to most chair pubs, clean with relatively friendly staff. Crockery and cutlery were clean, glasses were clean and food/snacks were typical pub quality level.

Food was not at all good everything was over cooked and dried out

We visited today! The front of house staff we're very pleasant and helpful, couldn't do enough for us! Hence the three stars. As for the food it was much to be desired, dry overcooked chicken, brown salad leaves and only luke warm. Unfortunately will not be returning.

Great pub, food was delicious and arrived without too much of a wait, have social distancing down to a tee... Thank you to all the team at the goldcrest. I shall be back

The food is terrible here. We always go back as it's our local and swear never again. The chips looked as if they had been there for an hour and it was just disgusting quality. The staff are great and it could be vrilliant if rhey hired a proper chef.

Great meal but didn't have the Mixed Grill that I wanted !!

A nice wide range of food in a pleasant area which is nice to go for a walk after food.

Nice venue for a family meal in the run up to Christmas. Only let down was the table being situated under the air con unit so was a bit cold at times but we never complained so in fairness they were unaware of our discomfort. Would definitely visit again.

Food was very well presented,staff were very helpful and friendly, great value for money, well worth a visit

Poor service, average quality food, didnt bring everything ordered and no apology or refund for items we didnt get. Would not reccomend.

Food is rubbish - too much on the menu for it to be freshly cooked, strongly suspect the ham hock in mustard sauce was boil in a bag from Asda

Lovely food nice clean warm surroundings friendly staff who took the time to ask my 4 year old if he enjoyed his food ! You dont always get this and I think it's nice.. and food was served quickly and hot .. drinks were served nice and cold .. thankyou

Chips were diabolical staff did not clear the plates because there were full of chips and knew that there were bad jack the manager was not there

Food is reasonably priced but it is of a microwave ready meal standard. Few decent ales on draught.

I've only rated one star so I can put a review, this pub was full of transphobic dinosaur's who made crude vulgar remarks about me, my partner and my transgender friend ,we complained to the bar staff and they said we'll have a word with them , they never said a word I don't think we'll be frequenting this place any more , Charlotte.

Need more staff, and don't advertise on specials board if meal not available need to update menu quicker

Staff too busy no satisfaction follow ups ! Food basic ! Ask for 2 slices bread n butter with fish n chips and received lightly toasted bread ??? Guess bread needed defrosting as frozen ?? I could go on !

Nice local pub food is very expensive for ready meals and always a long wait to be served from the bar staff even when they aren't busy and the guy who works behind the bar think he's may be the manager he is one miserable guy he only has to look at a bottle of milk to make it sour but a nice cozy pub

Long waiting times for food during the day midweek when it s quiet (30 mins) and even longer on a weekend (close to an hour). Big enough place that it shouldn t be a problem.

Food is ok although last visit didn't all come out at right time. Seating position was awful, we got put near a door to go outside and plenty of little darlings just going in and out all the time which constantly caused a draught which was annoying. We locked the door but sadly they figured that out.

Buy one main course. Get the second one free. Great value.

Lovely homely place. Food was great. Great location just off the roundabout with plenty of parking. The barman was very welcoming. Will visit again

Asked for a cappuccino small cup and only half full lukewarm told bar staff which was a waste of time so no I won't be having another

We had a large party booked for a birthday celebration and the staff were absolutely fantastic. They were attentive and efficient and made the whole experience pleasurable. Although there was a 45 minute wait for food due to it being peak time, everyone had said how tasty and fresh the food was. Thank you goldcrest for a fantastic evening

Lovely Sunday meal with the family and ideal location before getting the ferry for Amsterdam.

We had a great Time here bigger choice than say red sails isn't a dominated old fashionable carvery. Staff are plesent chatty much more friendly atmosphere.

I reviewed goldcrest a year ago and gave 5 stars sadly I give 2 stars today. I came here for my sister's birthday and we arrived at 3pm and left at 6pm !!! Waited far too long for our meals and then again for our desserts had to ask twice for desserts as I think we were forgotten, our meal was ok however my chips were raw inside and my daughters meal was cold. Were we were sat was freezing to the point were we all put our coats back. sad to say I probably wouldn't come back here which is quite sad because I did once like it here.

Great local pub. Cosy atmosphere and they have children play areas outdoors and indoors. Excellent food and great prices.

Ignore the bad reviews. If you want quick, cheap pub grub it's great. If you want something with michelin stars, go pay for the privilege. Friendly staff and you don't have to leave the table once if you don't want to.

Good food, and big parking space. Prices are a little above the quality. Place is also quite understaffed, we had to wait for a good 20 minutes until someone came to clean our table from the remains of the previous customer that sat there...

Terrible. Kids waiting over an hour for their food but other people's food come out within 20 mins

Only had a couple of crap meals but that was ages ago... Really like the place do miss the old landlady she use to pull up a chair and have a random chat with you
But staff are friendly and helpful... Love the place

Unfortunately the food was cold and unappetising and it was very quiet in there for a Saturday night. Won't be returning.

Great place normally although tables can be a little sticky. Last 2 visits there has been no burgers on the menu I assume this is a supplier issue not a restock issue putting a notice up about it would improve customer service.

Pub wasnt busy at all but waited 40 minutes for two main dishes the same, when arrived chips were cold Onion rings where soft and felt like been reheated a few times and the chicken had a dollop of cheese on over a peice of the most fattiest peice of bacon which didn't look cooked! Won't be going back it was awful.

Nice food but my friend flipped a chair and ran to another table when she saw 2 spiders.

Great value for money. The chipotle chicken burger off the specials board was lovely. Steak Americano could have done with more BBQ sauce.

Lovely place to meet up with friends and have a meal. Lots to choose from. Lovely helpful staff and a great atmosphere

Ordered the Thursday special which is 2 steaks and a bottle of wine. Normally really good but tonight after a 45 min wait for food (even tho not that busy) my husbands steak came out practically running off the plate when we ordered medium. We sent it back for it to return 3.mins later still oozing blood. It went back a 2nd time to return well overcooked and nothing left to eat it with! Shameful!!

No salad or coleslaw on burger, not many chips. Probably wont return.

The Website says open 11 but opened 11.30 but no food till 12 then coffee machine wasn't working

Food tasty although presentation could have been better. 2 for 1 offer good but basic price a little high if only 1 eating.

Good clean and friendly place. Portions could do with being a bit larger as not everyone is on a healthy eating program. But the food is good all cooked well

We had a sunday lunch and it was really good, never really eat here but as its local we thought wed go, pleased we did, the children had kids meals which they enjoyed

Gr8 food and staff can't do enough for you, esp during these difficult times so keep up the gr8 work guys.

Great pub friendly staff. Really nice meals. It's 2for1 so if you get the mega mixed grill you have them for a tenner each! And they're huge! Nice surroundings also. Will go back... again and again.

First time ive been. Likely to come back, Food was good and so was the price. Seems to have a busy and good atmosphere too.

Great food at reasonable prices. Have been there quite often and would always recommend it.
