Not my favourite of Glasgows public parks, it's large and mostly flat, but really just good for a walk on a sunny day. The highlight for me is the oldest Nelson memorial, a tall obelisk built in 1806, a year after his death during the Battle of Trafalgar. It is commemorated in a famous painting being struck by lightening in the 19th century, you can see the repair work if you look up the west face of it. The peoples palace is of limited interest, though the botanical gardens attached are pleasant. It's a well laid out park, well maintained, and is the oldest in the city. It occasionally holds gigs also.

Had a grate night out watching the firework show. Parking was a bit of a nightmare tho.
And there is only one way into the park to watch the show.
We parked on the Dalmarnock side of the park and had to walk about a mile of so to get to the entrance.
Everywhere is blocked off for safety.
It was a spectacular show tho. Really enjoyed the night out with the family.

Lovely place to come any day of the week, free entry as is most places on Glasgow, stroll around are look at the variety of plants in the large heated glasshouse or sit and relax, read a book, top it off with something from the great cafe.

Known locally as Glasgow Dog Toilet (not Glasgow Green). If you want to take your children to play in the wide expanse grass area's, then be careful of the dog mess. Also be mindful of playing with balls as you will suddenly experience uncontrolled dogs running after them and knocking over your child/ren. Not that their owners are bothered about it, seems they only bother about bigger dogs than theirs. Not a good safe place to take children. In fact go along and count how many children there is to dogs running around.

Great park. loads of free space. seated areas, football pitches and a mini outdoor gym. Plenty of green areas and private secluded enclosed areas and very clean and part of the west highland way route. Also a good place for people who enjoy rowing boats. And genral outdoor sports. It also has a hockey stadium ans very close to the city centre and barrowlands market. Great ice cream parlour situated on the nearby salt market amongst other shops and bars.

Great park that's well maintained. There's lots of open space for a kick about or for your dog to run around. Good sized kids play areas at the Saltmarket entrance and at the Arcadia Street side. The paths are all pretty wide to cater for More

Fantastic rally organised by AUOB for Scottish Independence!
Well over 100,000 walked there from Kelgingrove Park in the Westend.
Glasgow Green is a great meeting place for many large gatherings. Also has been home to the World Pipe Band championships.
Great day out for all who attended this momentous gathering!
