Girls on the Run Serving Maricopa & Pinal Counties: Empowering Girls to be Joyful, Healthy and Confident
Girls on the Run is a non-profit organization that aims to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident through a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. The program is designed for girls aged 8-13 years old and is available in Maricopa & Pinal Counties.
The program's mission is to empower young girls by providing them with tools and resources that will help them develop self-confidence, build positive relationships with others, and make healthy choices. Girls on the Run believes that every girl has the potential to achieve greatness if given the right support and encouragement.
The program's curriculum consists of 20 lessons that are delivered over a period of 10 weeks. Each lesson focuses on a specific topic such as self-esteem, body image, bullying prevention, goal-setting, teamwork and community service. The lessons are designed to be interactive and engaging so that girls can learn through play-based activities.
One of the unique aspects of Girls on the Run is its focus on physical activity. Running is used as a tool for building endurance, strength and confidence in young girls.
