Great service by the staff and free tasting while queuing.

It was very delicious and the atmosphere of the store was good, but most of them were expensive and cost more than $10. In addition to the English menu, I was surprised to find that there are many menus such as Japanese and Chinese. The ice cream was sweet and the look was very fashionable and cute.

Nice selection of ice creams to taste before you decide what to buy. It's worth the waiting in line...

One of the best ice-cream I have ever had. I definitely feel they provide premium ice-cream and premium service. Hence, be prepared to pay more than your regular ice-cream. The girl who served us was very kind, and explained a lot of thing for us. Your ice-cream will be delivered to whereever you are sitting in or in front of the store.

Upon entering to the store, you'll need to wait until one of the waitress comes to you. You'll then be able to try the ice-cream according to your preference. With the chocolate cups, I feel they are too thick. The milk one taste fine but dark chocolate cup was very bitter.
Nevertheless, it was a good experience here.

Auckland's best kept / well-known secret.
When you talk about the best gelato in Auckland you talk about this place. and don't think of ice cream when you come here - it's Gelato and it is closer to a great dessert cream mouse than just ice cream... with crazy flavour combinations that you never could imagine wrapt with decadent cone and topped with dream toppings and even doughnuts... yep you have to try it - it is a dream in a shape of Giapo!!!

They have truly perfected the experience here. I love having my own guide to walk you through the menu and taste every ice cream they offer. And the flavors were all fantastic. They made it hard to decide which one to get.

Horrible first timer experience. The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. The ice cream is definitely overpriced for what you get. They covered mine in a chocolate shell (I don't like chocolate), and by the time I broke the shell off, all the ice cream had already melted and was streaming (not dripping) down my hands and all over my clothes. Would not recommend.

Such friendly staff, and the tastiest ice-cream ever. They had a full range of vegan ice-cream which was amazing! They also let you try whatever flavours you want before buying. A little pricey, but it's worth it.

Outstanding service and absolutely amazing ice cream

Most amazig ice cream experience ever! I don t eat dairy but was very please to find there plentiful vegan options ! There was no line when we went and the staff were very relaxed and friendly! When we went in they asked if it was our first time and if we had any dietary requirements which they then took into consideration when choosing our 7 testing samples. Although the ice creams are at least $8 each without the waffle you get a lot for your money due to the abundance of tasters and helpful staff!! Would give 10/10 highly recommend and definitely going to be my new go to treat yourself location!

A beautiful place to have an ice cream with some amazing staff to make your experience unique. The hospitality is amazing. Also the way they serve you ice creams is very unique. They have a variety of flavors to choose from with some astonishing cones. You can have 3D printed ice creams as well, sculptured into various forms.

Don't go there!!! Unless... you really feel you deserve the very best and you are prepared to be blown away!!! Outstanding in every sense!!

Long wait for nothing special and ridiculous prices. It's a show and not a show stopper by any means. $74 for five ice creams is absolutely unheard of and cannot be justified by anything about this business. Definitely will not be going back!

The wait is definitely worth it! Nothing compares to the full experience of having the flavours explained to you and everyone in your group getting to try each and every flavour. They are so inventive and creative with flavours here, my all time favourite must be the bueno. If you are short on time, many people do not realise that there is a fast lane counter around the corner outside if you are dead set on a particular ice cream. Warning it can get messy while eating these creations, but there are plenty of napkins and wet wipes inside

Just regular ice cream, but highly Instagram-able. If you're not the type that cares about food pics, don't waste your time. We waited in line 30 mins to be let in, receive an explanation and taste the flavors. Then we decided the flavor wasn't worth the calories and walked out without ordering.

Where to sample ice cream and choose what I want to eat

Having been to Giapo on Queen Street several times in the past my expectations were set pretty high. The quality of the ice cream is amazing and it is worth visiting. However I felt like the experience was lacking the ridiculous line outside the door and I missed seeing the dessert being sculpted in front of me.

Hats off to Giapo. It was more of an experience then ice cream which in my opinion is very hard to pull off in business sense. Best part was the presentation and the cone.

Previously l gave two star because when l visit around 8.00 pm Cher 's chocolate and hazelnut flavours were not available..l had to take beetroot and ginger flavour it was really yummy but l was frustrated because l came especially for chocolate flavour...Now l judge myself and l found myself wrong.This place never deserve two stars....Giapo is one of the national brand which works like an ambassador for New Zealand...Love all your flavours...

The ice creams are very elaborate but the wait is sometimes long

Ate at Giapo maybe 4 or 5 yrs ago when it was at the main n St n was amazed by the ice cream. This time we came back to akl again so I decided to bring my little boy to try it out. Didn't know what to expect and was told to wait for the tasting. There was a couple in front of us who were doing the tasting by themselves. When it came to our turn, we were grouped with a bunch of 4 other strangers from another family. The staff started letting us taste n my son and I were the last of the group to get the little tubs to taste when they were passed around. The sticks were in front of the group but the staff didn't specify that we should use a new stick or what sys to adopt. By the 3rd round I refused to continue the tasting because not only is my young man losing interest but I was grossed out that the people before us we're dipping into the little tubs with the same sticks. I mean I don't mind the double dipping if it's within our family and friends because otherwise it's just bad environmental practice but to share ice cream with a whole bunch of strangers are just off putting. Don't understand how this was supposed to work and if we were just bunched with others cos it's just me and child but this really needs a rethink. At the end of the somewhat over the top experience, we still ended up having to go sit outside on the benches like take aways...not like there's a proper sit down spot or anything...the experience is pretty disjointed. The ice cream cones came out amazing looking but the toppings etc really detract the deliciousness of the actual ice cream. While I want to support the big idea behind this ice cream ''experience" you lost me at tasting...won't b back again

Visiting Auckland for the first time? YOU HAVE TO PUT THIS SPOT ON YOUR LIST. I'm having withdrawals and wish I could teleport from Hawaii to get some Hokey Pokey gelato! Simply the best, I was impressed in how much work and creativity is put into each person's gelato. Haven't found another place that can even compare. I hope to return again one day!

Giapo is absolutely amazing all the flavors are without a word of a lie second to none. Being a first time customer and a die hard movenpick supporter stunned me at how great not only the ice cream was but also the customer service. The ladies at the front were a delight to be served by so friendly and professional. I'd definitely recommend Giapo to everyone I know and will be back many time's in the future. I'm now a converted Giapo die hard fan and movenpick is now a thing of the past. If I were to have any sort of criticism it would be that they need more in house seating besides that it was an all round amazing experience

It might have the look of an "Instagram eatery" but the deliciousness is the real deal. A must go for anyone visiting Auckland and I'm generally not too excited about ice cream

Your visit to Auckland is not complete unless visit Giapo. Giapo is not only the best ice cream you will taste in NZ but also in the whole world. It simply does not get any better than this. Sample the unique gourmet flavours to find the flavour(s) you desire then let Giapo's artisans compose your treat. It may be a little bit more in price that some other places but you won't regret it. Don't visit those generic flavourless Yoghurt places and visit Giapo.

I always try to visit when I'm in Auckland. There is a variety of flavours to to choose from, and they change regularly. The ability to taste test before buying is a real bonus, and the staff are very helpful when trying to make a hard choice.

18 $ - disappointed. I eat ice cream every day, often more than one. I love it and I was excited to get my Giapo ice cream. Seemed to be nice but not as fancy as lonely Planet said. Chocolate on top, with coconut flakes and a cookie. I ordered a second scoop that was hidden in the waffle, small.
Well (didn t try before) I was really disappointed by the taste, just ordinary taste compared to other Gelaterias

An absolutely amazing place to stop by for a scoop or two. If it's you first visit, the staff will usually offer a tour and tell around what is more of a display of art than an ice-cream parlour, as well as a free sample of all their flavors.

Really creative and neat place. You can skip the tutorials if you ve been before and just want to order. Otherwise, the tutorial is a fun tourist thing to do. The ice cream was good overall and the place is funky and fun to check out.

I have never been to a store that shows more passion, care and enthusiasm about their product. Each customer is talked to personally and walked through their menu. They are also given samples of every flavour and then, only once they are properly educated, you will order.
Even with the amazing explanation, I was still shocked when my Ice cream came out.

Very creative and the gelato taste divine! My favorite was Keri Keri which is avocado flavored ice cream. It's so tasty!
