Love this place, can taste all flavours! Super huge portion ice cream definitely visit here again

Giapo himself and his staff were very hospitable and helped as with our every need. Lots of free taste testing and complementary water as we waited for our ice cream. Never have I experienced such great service at a gelateria. My mum has many dietary requirements. Giapo looked after her very well. Often dietary requirements are a burden for some, but he made us feel very welcomed and spent extra attention, making sure we were happy. Even though the lines were out the door the service was impeccable and very fast. Giapos creations are amazing, they taste as good as they look and worth the price too.

Visited this wonderful shop on Monday night. We were served by Connie who was wonderful and very helpful. It was delightful and surprising. You cannot see the ice cream/gelato but you go on flavours and some beautiful samples. The selection is varied, the presentation is a work of art and the ice cream leaves you wanting to go back for more. A lovely touch providing water and wipes. Will be definitely be back. Don't miss your opportunity to try it out.

It's best ice cream parlour ever visited. This was my second visit and 3rd visit to Auckland, NZ.. The taste is alws the same... Great guys.. Keep it up

Always a good place to go to after a dinner in Auckland CBD. The menus are changed quite regularly with some interesting flavour combinations! However the popular flavors are usually available and the different toppings and cones are amazing.
I always bring friends and family who haven't visited Auckland before to Giapo!

I have been to many, many gelato shops all over the globe. But this one is probably the best gelato shop I have ever been to.

The gelato is luxury, with many flavours and a tasting session before you start! Yes, it's a gelato shop, but it's also a kind of experience. I just had plain and simple chocolate and it was very rich and flavourful.

So, if you find yourself in Auckland CBD in the mid-afternoon and want to do something, do this.

Great desert place with beautiful creations. In the heart of Queen Street. The only down side is that it is a very small place with no many places to have a seat.

More like an ice cream boutique! Quite an experience! Flavours are super original and orders are custom made by an ice cream specialist that'll recommend combinations and let you sample every flavour. Highly recommended!

So fun! You get a personalized tasting tour to try all the flavors you want before you decide which one you d like to try. They have all kinds of chocolates in molds that you can add onto your cone.. I had the Hokey Pokey cone - it was delicious!

One of the best ice cream parlor in Auckland. A must visit place. The Ice cream is one of the best experience. All the ice cream you get is very unique, delicious and filling. Great for group even though there is not much seat. There are few outdoor seats. Highly recommended.

The service, reception and presentation from the staffs are amazing. You can feel their passion for ice cream through their enthusiasm.

I had giabo buono with waffle cone. Far too sweet. And cone is too hard, not too crunchy

We were a little disappointed on our last visit to giapo. Having moved from is previous location, it felt like it had lost a bit of its soul, a bit of its uniqueness. I won't be hunting it out much in the future.

Wearables were fun, but get a real bowl, you'll appreciate the ice cream more.

In addition to being good, the ice creams are a real work of art. The quantities are very even too generous. Keep this in mind when you order your ice cream! The service is particularly top notch, they will make you test all the ice cream you want and will make you discover others.

Delicious ice cream and such a unique experience! Highly recommend going earlier in the evening while it s still quiet so you can beat the queue and talk to the friendly staff about some of their very interesting projects and art pieces. Definitely coming back for more soon!

I liked the way these guys present their ice creams. We tried the strawberry and dark chocolate ice creams and both were good.

Very pretentious and complicated, I get they are trying to create an experience, though it is poorly executed through in unnecessary complexity.... So how was the ice cream, sweet, bland, just very average soft serve. Great for social media posts tho!

I've never been given a hard core sales pitch in an ice cream shop before. This place is pretentious and has mediocre ice cream. If you are looking for a designer bakery that happens to put ice cream in their goods, maybe this place is for you. If you are after high quality ice cream, look elsewhere. Not worth the wait or the hype. The team was very friendly, the product is just sub par. The "experience" took over 45 mins for an an overpriced ice cream cone.

I actually miss the old location. The new location is not actually the best place to sell ice cream. Also it's been around 1.5 years since I last ate at Giapo in Queen street but I felt the price had increased our atleast doubled. In the past, $9 would get you two scoops with the cone. But now there is no standard come. If you're paying for the deluxe coffee, that's $12 with the ice cream, it comes to $20

That said, they do give you a lot of samples but service is slow due to this

Make sure you have space for dessert. Otherwise you don't really enjoy it :)

If you were looking for ice cream with a twist and over the top, this is the place to be! Be prepared for a line but it is well worth the wait. They have extraordinary custom cones , to the multiple flavors of ice cream , you will not be disappointed!

I was quite intrigued and excited to see what this place would be like hearing that it almost always has a queue going outside their parlour. When I arrived here there was a queue, and while waiting each of us we were offered chocolates and an ice cream to taste. Then we were given a wonderful fancy presentation and explanation of each of the ice cream flavours and cone types and each of us were offered all the available flavours of ice creams for tasting. It looked awesome and beautiful. However when it came to the taste of ice creams and cones itself they were fine but weren't the best.
It was a enjoyable experience on the whole that's worth it and fun if you do it just once or a few times in your life. I wouldn't eat ice cream from here regularly as the taste doesn't live up to the high price.

Very beautiful ice cream place. Expensive, yes, but so worth it. This is not just ice cream; this is art. Staff are also helpful and friendly. They take their time to explain the menu and let you sample flavors. Good vegan options as well.

Superb service with a smile, excellent dairy free options. Slightly pricey but to be expected as the quality is exceptional. Feedback on the coffee flavor would be to serve it with less dark chocolate chips as some of the coffee flavour is lost.

Very expensive with limited selection of ice creams

Had the house special and it was quite frankly amazing. Probably one of the best I've creams I've ever had. Pricey but one was more than enough for my wife and I to share. Will definitely go back next time we want to treat ourselves!

Super unique ice cream spot. Most of the options are huge so eat a light dinner or split with someone. All of the ice cream options are gluten free. This is definitely a place for millennials and foodies, not young kids or those with picky palettes.

So the price is extreme! $40 for two ice cream but OMG was it delicious!! I had a massive gluten-free, dairy-free chocolate peanut butter amazingness! We'd go back for sure. A must visit!

Very creative & different from any other place.

If you love ice cream you MUST NOT miss this unique experience in Auckland. It really is an experience. Expect a line...though it moves fast as each person is taken on a journey of their tantalizing flavours. Leaving with an artistically designed sweet treat.

A special experience that you can't taste in Korea. The ice cream is delicious, but the staff are so friendly.

Amazing ice cream flavours with a range of decadent custom toppings, incredible chocolate cones and cups to choose from. Loved that we had a no-pressure, unrushed 'tasting' experience so that we could get the ice cream that we would most enjoy.

Tips:

There's often a pretty sizeable lineup. Come prepared to wait.

We each got 2 scoops in a custom cup. The portion sizes are quite fair and in the end this proved to be more than we really needed. In future we would get 1 each or make best bang for buck and split 1 cup/cone with 2 scoops.

The Kiwi as Afghan Cookies ice cream is one of the best ice creams I have ever tasted. I thought it was better than the hokey pokey ice cream. The place gets crowded so expect a wait, but I think it's worth it. Staff brought us water and free chocolate while we were waiting for our ice cream, so that was awesome. Plenty of seating in and around the shop.

Ice cream heaven! The chocolate chip coconut is next level.

Best ice cream I've had in a very long time, all house made, and the cones were unreal. Skip the line that ALWAYS forms outside, download the app, go through sign up procedures, order through the app, and you will have your ice cream in 10 minutes versus 25-30 minutes

Very friendly staff, excellent ice cream - no doubt about it. Only reason for the 4 stars is the price as it is quite a bit for some ice cream!

Definitively a must in Auckland. It really worths the waiting and the price. I found other places as good as this one, what really differs is the effort they put in finding new falvours. I like that you can taste all the flavours before choosing, I don't really like queues when not really needed.
