I can only rate based on my experience from the covid vaccine clinic. The process was quick and efficient. People were very friendly. It was a well oiled machine!

I just want to say how nice the nurse/tech staff was (on the 4th floor) Lori, malenda, erin. They were awesome!! Thank you!!
My daughter has been Suicidal So i took her in and they refused her care. They told me the doctor was leaving for vacation later tonight so there was nothing they could do for her this week. I made a scene. Do not go here!!! This place is one of the worse places I ve ever experienced.
I have tried on many occasion to apply for a job as a nursing home administrator with Genesis and I have been either ignored or turn down on multiple times stating that Genesis Is going with a candidate who is qualifications more closely match the position.
I ve been an administrator for 16 years I am licensed in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and I have run facilities up to and in excess of 600 beds.
Therefore Genesis explanation makes no sense. The recruitment Department also does not get back to you especially Shirley Lawler.
I can only guess that they just don t like me.
Therefore I removed my profile from their career website and will never apply for a position with them again.
Good Luck Genesis!
Raymond
Horrible place. Horrible nurses and doctors. All rude and uncaring. Bethesda behavioural health is even worse. Better off getting help from a stranger in a van.
I must like the place as I'm here all the time it seems.
After spending 2 hours waiting with my son to be seen with a possible kidney stone we decided to seek other medical treatment. I was treated very disrespectfully when I questioned how long it would be. Also they now take your temperature and place a sticker in your shirt with your temperature. Last I knew that was a HIPPA violation. That is my private health information and should not be displaced for everyone to see.
If I could give it less than one star I would. I would not take my cat here. Besides shoddy and downright dangerous patient care they have tried to kill me at least three times as an inpatient (not me giving right meds, not bothering to look in on patients, not giving needed instructions on discharge -- not to mention doctors arguing right outside your door -- loudly). Details are too gruesome and lengthy to go into in a brief review but trust me this place is horrid. All they want is the almighty $$$$$. They were okay when Good Samaritan Genesis was open. They dumped a bunch of money in Bethesda (then tore down Good Sam) and fired all their experienced staff then hired a bunch of kids right out of school who don't know their a from a hole in the ground. They also get the cheapest, least qualified doctors they can find. Just pathetic!
Not too sure of why all the hate. I'm not even from Ohio, but had the best ER experience in my life. Staff was polite, bubbly and friendly. Some liked to joke, and i like to joke too because laughter is truly the best medicine. Went from checking in to being medicated within 30 minutes. 5pm on a Wednesday. My only complaint is they couldn't do my surgery there
The gave me a prescription that they won't authorized.
Have treated us well except for one RN and I refuse to rate everyone on her attitude.
Absolutly terrible I've been here for 8 hours now for my pregnant wife we started by waiting 5 1/2 hours in the waiting room for her abdominal pain and bleeding (extremely worry some when pregnant) we've now been here 8 hours and so far all they have done is draw blood and do a pelvic exam and put a cathoder in for her ultrasound which she has been in excruciating pain from and the nurses don't seem to believe anything is wrong or possibly getting worse we would have rather made the 2 hour drive to columbus than deal with this we probably would have been home by now including the 2 hour drive there and the 2 hour drive back
Does anybody work here? My husband has been here for 2 days for cardiac issues. I have to take care of him! No one comes in this room and sees him!
With zero explanation and no reason given the psychiatrist at Genesis declined to admit my son who is 7 years old, suicidal, homicidal and extremely out of control. The RN at Holzer and Jackson Ohio called every Psychiatric Hospital in Ohio but nobody is willing to see my son cuz they don't have beds open. Genesis was the last hospital on the list and they flat-out decline to admit my son and would give no explanation to the RN nurse. Would I recommend this hospital to anyone else? Hell no! Some afterthoughts. What gives a hospital a right to turn away the juvenile who obviously needs help?
I went to Genesis ER twice in 7 days I lost my vision and went blind.
They didn't believe me and sent me home twice. First time saying sinuses , second telling me I was looking at them in their eyes. Had to go to OSU to get the help I needed. Ended up having Optic Neuritis due to MS. Shame on Genesis! I'll never go there again.
Hurting for money and charge people for something that didn't even happen. It won't hurt you guys but I'll never step foot in a Genesis building again. I'll go where people actually care about you and your family.
I decided to have a tubal ligation & was sent to veteran OBG, DrHothem, had tests at the pavilion & for surgery was sent to alternacare. They had no problem working around my busy work schedule for the multiple appointments I had to attend. What's more is I temporarily have Medicaid & was still treated with as much respect & dignity as a cash paying client! You can tell the staff are all extremely busy & under a lot of pressure being the only major hospital in our busy area, but every staff member was so helpful! Once at surgery, my attending nurse 'Jessica' was very kind & made sure I understood exactly what to expect every step of the way. Her bedside manner is more professional & reassuring than any nurse I've experienced in my 34yrs of life. My surgery went very well. I'm surprised at all the negative comments about Gen here. Surely the majority of neg. commentees don't know how hard it is to do all the things these individuals do to help us, working tirelessly almost every day of the week while having to remain calm, cool, kind & collected for people they don't even know. Sure I might have had to wait a few extra minutes to get into an appointment but these hard working Ppl are trying to save lives & help everyone more than they think about themselves or their families. Things take time there bc they care about what they're doing & have a lottttt on their plates. Thank You Genesis Team! Keep up the great work!
I sat in there for 4-5 hours last night with an IV in my arm I jist had a major surgery 11 days ago an I'm having trouble with my stomach an they just left me sit in pain for hours i was in tears...then when i asked how long it was gonna be bc i hurt ao bad plus have 2 kids one that i needed ro put on the bus an one that wouldn't sleep all day after I've been up all night an they told me there was 2 people ahead of me then after 10 more people gor called back i just left an now I'm at home in pain again!! I'd rather drive an hour away just to get seen for a cold then to go to this hospital!!
I had to go to the er and saw dr Sam zerkle,5 stars dr Sam.I wish he had a private practice so he could be my permanent dr. Very friendly and caring.
Absolutely terrible!!! Nurses and stnas have no idea what they are doing. The technology and equipment are not nearly as advanced as city hospitals. Terrible care. My uncle has done back and forth to this hospital god knows how many times in just this past week and they have no clue what's wrong with him. They keep guessing, sending him home & then he had to go right back because they have no idea what they are doing!
I want to share my experience with the One contact policy in the ccu People who cannot stay days at the hospital who are out of state and need to make the decision about when and if they need to come and can have no direct communication with the staff if their name is not in the computer as the one contact person. Nurses are very busy, I understand that. Some other form of communication needs to be instated with other family members. I even have power of attorney over the patient!
Worst place ever i been sitting here for 3 hours and still haven t been seen but yet the people coming in after me going back first
The staff has no idea what they are doing and it seems like they do not really want you there. I hurt my back at work and was taken to the hospital. I told them I did not want drugs just wanted to know what was wrong and how to fix it. I was told "that is not what we do." I was given 3 shots of pain medication and sent on my way. I went to the next appointment and was told we want to give you drugs to get rid of the pain. I still do not want med's.
Much better than in years past. The pavilion lab staff are less then friendly or helpful. Excellent & caring ER staff. Much better Dr's then the hospital has been known for in the early 2000's
I was in so much pain going in . found out I had fluid in my abdomen. They were quick to get me in surgery to place a drain tube . Next day surgery again to place stent . Loved my Nurse's an the Tech's were awesome. Best experience being in the hospital ever..
We are currently in waiting room and my boyfriend is waiting to be seen. We have been here for 2 hours, and people who came in after us have now gone back before us. The only reason they are still in business is bc no matter what someone will need emergency care. But this is a poor excuse of a health care facility.
Didn't have to wait in the waiting room for long but we waited over hour while in the doctors room just to talk to the doctor this was the emergency part of the hospital
First came here for the OB/GYN when I was pregnant and then for when I was in labor and gave birth. Nothing but great experiences! Now I m here with my 11 month old and the staff has been so friendly to my family and my daughter especially!
We were there last night because my nephew broke his thumb the staff was very friendly tworads us. The hospitals up here need to go down there and take notes on how to treat people.
Avoid this hospital at all costs. I wish I could give a zero. It s all business minded and doesn t utilize research based practice
At 23 weeks pregnant, and after dealing with debilitating heartburn for the last month, I decided to seek care at Genesis' Emergency Department in the middle of the night last night. I felt like I hadn't been heard at myprenatal appointments when trying to address the problem at Riverside. The staff at check in were extremely attentive, and showed true concern for my level of discomfort and did everything they could to make sure I would see the right doctor. Though the ER was very busy, I was put in a room within 10 minutes, seen by the nursing staff for tests to be run immediately, baby was checked on and doing fine, and they did everything they could to help me find some comfort while waiting to see a doctor. When the doctor came in, about 30 minutes after my arrival, he was very attentive and spent time to understand what I was feeling, checking my history, and asking me thorough questions about previous treatment I had received for an ulcer. I knew he was swamped and that I wasn't an urgent case, nor was anything super severe happening to me or my child, but the entire staff still made me feel as though I was just as important as the rest of their cases last night. The facilities are extremely nice and spacious, and truly comfortable and quiet. I am very thankful for Dr. Bomsta and the rest of the staff who helped me last night, as I finally have some relief from my severe heartburn.
This hospital system is quicky losing my trust due to recent experiences. The system seems to be more of a business first rather than a patient first approach. Phlebotomists' seem to have free reign of the halls and are constantly drawing blood, but nobody can seem to tell you why or for what reason. The physicians seem to stay hidden away, and let the PA make the occasional appearance to quickly go over the data someone entered into the computer from somewhere else. In short poor bedside manner and not patient focused. Apparently understaffed because of long wait times, including not assisting someone to the restroom in a timely manner. Or maybe they just don't care, sometimes you get that feeling. Staff are critical of their own hospital food that is intended to nourish patients. Overall I see little to no encouragement to patients, and chaplains are never around. It is indeed strange how one can enter for a common injury and quickly be fast tracked into needing new medications, multiple specialists and follow-up appointments. It shows me a lack in coordination of care between multiple parties. I shouldn't feel a fear for my loved ones life when they enter this place. I also shouldn't have to catch mistakes or oversights to medications that cause a bad interaction. These things are happening all too frequently!
10/10 would not recommend going to Genesis. They have no competition in the area, so their care is very poor. They have zero compassion. I recently had a life threatening experience because of malpractice I received while in their care. I was referred to OSU because they were inexperienced with the aftermath they left me with. Needless to say, I have switched my doctors as well as my kids pediatricians. It s worth the further drive!
Poor care and short staffed. None of the employees seem happy.
I dont even know where to start to say how much Genesis hospital is not even worth a one star. From taking a family member to the E.R. after having complications due to Covid. One of your finest Doctors ( ? ) came to room , which he stood at doorway and proceeded to evaluate by saying you have covid pneumonia. When asked about chest x-ray he said NO when asked about antibiotics he said NO. You know its pretty bad when this doctor or your family doctor won't help.
I had called in search for information on my mother who had been admitted to the emergency room with a possible stroke. I was trying to reach her room phone. Well I wasn't sure what the number was so I googled Genesis hospital and this number was the first to show up. So I called around 8 on July 28 2017 and the lady had a very rude tone saying "you have the wrong number" and I apologized and she had just hung up! Very unprofessional and mean!
My sister was having outpatient surgery. The schedule board showed her status while I waited. I could see when she was in surgery, was moved to recovery and was back in her room. The surgeon met me in a private conference room once she was out of surgery and answered all my questions. While waiting a lady distributed cookies and apples to those waiting. I went looking for a glass of water to take some pills and before I knew it one of the cleaning staff brought me a huge cup of ice water. The nurse provided my sister with a number to call anytime of the day or night if she had any questions or problems. The staff couldn't have been nicer, and the best part is my sister is recovering beautifully with no complications.
I was in the trama unit. The doctors and nurses are great.
My wife had a baby here a couple days ago and it was the most caring, professional hospital visit ever of all time. Every nurse asks what they can do for you before they ask to run any tests. Awesome people. Really can't say enough.
I will never ever take my daughter here again i will now be taking her to childrens.. I took my 7 week old daughter here because she was sick and they told me she had upper respitory infection but there was nothing they could give her. Keep in mind she was screaming everyday all day like she was in pain and she wasnt eating or having very many dirty diapers and was puking now im a first time mom but i still felt like somthing more was going on so i took er back a few days later and they told me the same thing uri and im like okay well i got her home and she wouldnt sleep and continued to not eat and not have very many wet diapers. So i took her back bc she was only eating an oz of formula every 3 hours not normal and. All they did was look at her and say nothing is wrong she just has a uri and i said r u sure and they said yes and thwy were very rude. So tje next day she screamed all day i could lay her down or anything so i took her to childrens in columbus because as a mom i knew somthing was wrong well im glad i did because they did so many test on her even kept her over nigbt they told me they wasnt gunna let us leave until they found out what was going on well with in a few hours they got some results back and come to find out she had a verry bad UTI they said if i wouldnt have brought her in when i di it could have did some serious damnage or even killed my little angel. So i will never bring her back to the er or recommend it to anyone because they seemed like they were to busy to listen to my concerns or even do any test. Now the l&d ppart is amazing but the er sucks need to get some better trained people working in there
Overall this hospital is a very good hospital. Like all places they have areas where they can improve, but most staff really make the effort to give you great care.
I would like to know how in the hell a Dr can be exactly 2 hours late for 2 appointments 2 weeks in a row. The 1st time okay maybe something came up but the 2nd time we were scheduled 1st appointment at 6:45 and at 8:10 the nurse said he must have over slept again and at exactly 8:45 he showed up.At $7000 for a procedure that took him 5 minuets each time that makes Genesis time worth about $75000 an hr.. So i figure the 8 Hours my with and i wasted while the DR slept in should be worth about $750 an hour im thinking you owe us about $6000.
My husband was just at this facility and the nurse and all the staff were amazing.
Sick and waiting? Unless you go in with definite cardiac symptoms plan to continue waiting. Not enough rooms and doctors to handle the flow of patients in a reasonable time frame. Good for hospital's financials but terrible for patients.
It is hit or miss with this place. Sometimes they are pretty helpful, other times its a waste of time to go. Billing department is mostly terrible. My experiences have generally improved over the last several years.
Very clean hospital and the staff are so nice and caring.
Hospital seemed very clean and new when I was there 2/18. Staff didn't seem to friendly thou.
Have all my Drs.thru Genesis and have got some awesome care
If you aren't among the wealthy or have insurance, you're better off dying. As soon as they find out they can't milk any money out of you, they'll tell you you're fine and charge you for imaging and testing regardless. Shout out to my testicle that's been infected for three years that was supposed to "go away in a couple weeks".
Where is a person to start when being at the emergency room and you are supposed to be safe and with understanding doctors, nurse or any of the staff....well that's what I thought too, however over the last year and some months I've had surgery 5 times once in CCU so doped up I can't even remember now I lost my memory from what I understand I lost a lot of blood I had a terrible time with the doctors an Nurses since then in the emergency department ...my opinion is if you really don't need to go there I would strongly suggest you go to a different place
This place was alright its just that the waiting is very long.
The Er., is a disaster . And it's also a Trauma center? That's good for Zanesville and surrounding areas especially if they can crack a chest open and give the correct care. I personally don't think much of the staff of Genesis Healthcare System., this is a small town in every sense of the word , when you know most of the staff and they happen to be your care person and look at you in a judgemental way or even worst Red list you ,well lets just say My primary healthcare provider is on top of her game and so are the nurses @The Muskingtum Valley health center which is a part of Genesis Inc, last time 5 weeks ago I checked myself out after finding out I wasn't in remission anymore and the ER Staff
Didn't have a clue what to do for me Well I knew, I drove myself to The James Cancer Center ( OSU HOSP .) In Columbus Ohio . Where I'm getting the best care in the world. No lie check out their rating Zanesville. Its alot higher than the 2.4 rating the Ohio State Board of Medicine gave Genesis Health care Systems . Peace.Btw my name is David W.Cosgrave ,not Google user.
I like the care my mom gets with Dr. Parekh, however, the wait time is unbelievable every visit and today the office visit (1.5 hours in waiting room, 20 min in exam room before doctor entered) should have been a phone call about the results of a test. It truly angers me when doctors, their office staff and health care system waste patients' time as if it's just not as valuable as their time. This experience makes me wonder if the visit was to get money from Medicare?!?
So far I have been treated fantastic by everyone that I have came in contact with l highly recommend the ER here
