Of the Best Works ... With Quite High Toll Cost ...
A splendid bridge connecting the continental Greece to the Peloponnese at the height of Patras. Going through it seems to be suspended ... The highway that covers this stretch is quite expensive compared to the other Greek motorways. The deck for the deck is euro 13.50 for the car.
The experience of sailing, but we did not care when we watched whether we mix with the mast.
3 stars, because it is very expensive. Otherwise is great. An outstanding construction.
It is understood to be a work of life in western Greece and Epirus. Safe, fast, the disadvantage of only its price. I have the impression that it needs to be reduced a bit, because it is pinched.
Great structure - tolls - empty road - great view - especially for the passenger. When you drive into the parking lot at the end of the bridge, you can still find the (translation in Wiki = The Rio Castle) - an ancient castle that is probably being restored (at least it was enclosed with construction fences). And ... there was a great sunset to marvel at.
Already passed the 3 times, and I'm amazed again and again.
Very impressive building. You come quickly and for a few euros in the Peloponnese
It is too expensive for the car to be 13 . It is assumed that the bridge exists to facilitate the transportation of the world. Nowadays, if you are Patras, you are thinking of taking a trip to the north. I also say that if you decide to take the suburban from Patras and stop in Rio to go by the pedestrian boat towards knowing that from the station to the distance there is a very low distance. I should think there are buses to do this route
It is the most important work of the last twenty years. It is a fantastic Saturday and Sunday light show. It's worth watching this spectacle sipping a beer or wine in the shops of Rion. Until then, because crossing the bridge is unprofitable. When Trikoupis envisioned the bridge, he never imagined it would happen .....
The work was good but they also did a part-time job - come on.
The Rio - Antirio bridge is one of the most emblematic projects in Greece, while it is the longest cable-stayed bridge with multiple openings in the world.
Its total length is 2,833 m., While its wired part is 2,252 m.
Its foundations have a diameter of 90 meters and are located at a depth of up to 65 meters, which is a world record. The pillars protrude from 145 m to 165 m above sea level and the free height for the passage of ships in the middle opening is 52 m.
Fun we went under the bridge, dodging all the ferries.
A beautiful, powerful bridge that makes an amazing impression.
On Saturday and Sunday you pass the tolls, you pay for one pass, they give you a card and within 10 hours you can pass it again for free by giving the card back
It was and is a miracle of modern technology ... but really the price to spend it is simply unthinkable ... I think the 8.6 that was the original price was that more reasonable ... beyond that ... a boat. ..unfortunately...
Unique technical work that embellishes our city. Breathtaking view whether you drive by car or on foot ...
Now we know why Greece is kaput. No bridge is worth 13.50 each way.
Beautiful modern bridge, visible from a distance and very impressive!
13,50 Euro for the passage of this beautiful bridge.
Alternative passage by ferries available.
Examination work, quick access to the other end, is worth 13.50 euros
Very good bridge but it's a little expensive at $ 10 but with the boat it's around $ 6
A technological miracle at the time of its construction where it had to meet a series of requirements that would be difficult to find elsewhere.
Thirteen years after its launch, it continues to amaze me with the technical solutions applied to tackle everyday problems with the goal of maximizing the safety of citizens = customers.
For us it was worth it to see the bridge. A single ticket across the bridge costs 13.50 in toll.
The biggest and best project in Greece to date. Respiratory project for the residents of the Prefecture of Etoloakarnania and the neighboring prefectures. A work inspired by Charilaos Trikoupis and executed by the PASOK government of Costas Simitis. Unfortunately, in Greece during the crisis, the price of tolls for some is unbearable and it would be good with the cooperation of local agencies to provide a solution to reduce tolls.
The ticket is a bit pinched, good views and a gravel road
Tolls are very expensive for no reason. I prefer the ferry boat that you have crossed across at exactly half price.
The bridge is beautiful, that's just the way to travel on it, so it s better to take the ferry, the truth is longer, but it's much cheaper
An impressive bridge either crosses it by vehicle or passes by the ferry. 13 euros per car, 6.5 per ferry.
A modern wonder and a sight to behold! This bridge looks amazing!
Wonderful ... just now that the lights are on again every Saturday 9-12 at night !!
Truly a masterpiece of functionality, beauty and engineering that does not contrast at all with the landscape.
fantastic bridge but very expensive passage through it 13.40 euros
Comfortable route. A very careful work, unique construction that joins Western Central Greece with the Peloponnese. Unfortunately tolls are still expensive.
This modern marvel is a sight to witness. It is at a walking distance from Rio train Station and gives a complete view of the beautiful waterways which surround Patras. The bridge can be viewed from a ferry which transports people to and fro. Walking on the bridge is an altogether different experience and it is something that really should be tried.
While choosing a direction, be in the direction which avoids fumes from getting into your eyes. There is a huge number of vehicles which pass by the bridge and this is a factor to be taken into consideration. The ferries take passengers from one end to another for free and it takes around 10-15 minutes for the same. There are a lot of cafes around this place and they should definitely be tried.
The water near the bridge is pretty good and cool, and you should definitely take a swim here and appreciate the cool that it has to offer.
The bridge itself 5 any time , even in horrible weather, so we couldn t see anything....... but only 1 because it costs you 13.50 to cross it , which is a bit crazy in my opinion.
Beautiful and very interesting. Unusually little visited.
From the public works you must see once in your life up close
Great job if a bit expensive the amount of crossing the bridge !!
The bridge is very long and very well maintained. I did it by bicycle, passing on the side where there is a pedestrian crossing. I noticed a gate at the beginning but it was open. There were also two other pawns. To go down we had to take some stairs. We didn't pay anything.
Although you have crossed the bridge within 2 minutes and you are in the opposite direction while the ship will take at least 20-30 minutes, it is INAPPROPRIED the exploitation and the cost of the car service, if the prices were lower, it would be a monopoly.
A beautiful bridge that joins Peloponese to Aitoloakarnania region. Very nice seen lit at night. Quite costly to cross.
One of the greatest achievements of engineering in the world. The price of $ 10.60 for the car is rather low for the cost of construction and maintenance of the project.
PS: The price of 10.60 is for gefyra epass holders. There is absolutely NO REASON to pay the regular price of 13 . Just stop before crossing, take the epass on the spot without any obligation and no expiry date and spend 10.60 .
Very beautiful and impressive. It's better to see him on the ferry and even cheaper.
A panorama that offers an extraordinary sensation. Even if it's a bit expensive, sometimes it's worth crossing the bridge at that height. I like.
Very expensive. Ferry boat for those who are not in a hurry
Fortunately, after years of use of PASOK managed to present a work of essence
3 minutes only and by boat 1 hour big difference toll to drop a little
This beautiful bridge connects the Greek mainland to the Peloponnese Peninsula. It bridges the Peloponnesian Gulf to the west coast of Greece and shortens travel time from central Greece to the third largest city in the same Patras.
Nice work, pay attention to the machines when there is a lot of air !!
Tolls are a bit expensive and generally the spectacle is not worth 13 euros, better if you have time to take the boat to see the bridge from afar, it is more impressive and cheaper
Impressive build but a little heavy on the eye. At night when they light it up it is nice. You're not saying financially
Of the most important works of recent years, a jewelery pendant of the Corinthian that connects the Peloponnese with solids to Rio-Antirrio solving the traffic conglomeration that always prevailed in the movements. After the completion of the EO. Athina Patras now has access to Ioannina is fast and relaxing.
Beautiful bridge. Very impressive technological achievement for Greek data. Nice attraction.
