Overpriced stuff. You might find somerhing worth buying but not likely.

Quick customer service got me just what I needed! Always a good experience at gear 30 what a place!

I drove 2 hours to buy hiking shoes from somewhere with staff who have actual hiking and climbing experience. Dallin helped me find just the right approach-style shoe for my hard-to-fit feet for the exact conditions I was preparing for. I left with the gear I needed and tons of information about shoes for hiking and climbing. Exactly what I wanted.

I ordered online because my local store (sorry Neptune!) had sold out of my favorite Sportiva running shoes. They got here in like, three days AND I received a delightful handwritten note.

Appears to have a good gear selection for camping and climbing other than skiing gear but I wasn't looking at the entire store.

January 2019 ski and boot selection was so so. Only a few brands. November 2019 I checked back for new ski boots and asked about current 2020 models. They showed me what they had, mostly Scarpa, I believe. Of the boots they had they had very few sizes.

The only Scarpa boot they had in my size was an older model. I asked about the year and specs of the older model but they didn't have info on it.

I asked if they would be getting new boots for 2020 and was told they were not sure if or when and just wanted to sell me the old model boot at a discount. Sorry, I wanted new 2020 boots.

High priced high end stuff. But, I got a great deal on a pair hiking boots!

Just rented some skis. Arrived 6:00 on Thursday. No wait. In and out in 20 minutes. Nice staff. I thought rental price was reasonable. $20 for standard package. $40 for demo.

They were wonderful helping me find a new backpacking bag. Very patient and thorough. They made sure it was not only fitted to me but that every aspect of the bag was comfortable. A great experience!

I walked in for the very first time and was greeted by Dallin and Hunter, super chill guys. They took the time to explain the layout of the shop and how it all goes down. Dallin gave me the run down in regards to fly fishing and I was able to really get a feel for what the shop does. Incredible shop, top quality product and even better employees.

Awesome store to shop at! Bought hiking boots for almost $50 less than what LL Bean and other major retailers were charging. Shipping was super quick and even came with a hand-written note from one of the employees, Sara. One of a few businesses that treat their customers well. Will definitely shop here again!

Update. We need to talk about that $200 Northface GorTex jacket I bought. It saw its first rain storm today and it immediately started leaking through. I would expect more from a $200 jacket.

A fair selection of great and difficult to find items. Staff is fantastic and pleasant. They have mostly high end products but they frequently have great sales and discounts. They also have a rewards program that can save you more.

Love their store! Rustic outdoors feel as I walk in to the store. I asked if I could take pic of some snow shoes and backpacks...... they said YES! It made my day! Friendly staff and knowledgeable!

Awesome store with a ton of great gear. I had Kate and James help me; both are very knowledgeable and helpful!

Want to get into back packing so I stopped by gear 30. I explained I'm a novice and just getting into it and they did an excellent job hooking me up. They didn't try to up sell me and actually showed me a less expensive tent that is more in accordance with my skill level and budget. Very knowledgeable about the equipment and are full of recommendations based on personal experience. I'll definitely get the rest of my gear here.

Awesome place! They have everything you need if you are a person who loves the outdoors! It is a little pricey though that is the only downside.

This is such an awesome shop! 10/10 would recommend. The staff are so knowledgeable and willing to help. They really want you to get the best gear for you and their knowledge and experience is next to none. Chase, Caity, and Jack were particularly helpful in helping me find a ski boot that would work the best for me. Chase spent over an hour helping me through the boot fitting process. I also watched as staff helped other customers and were incredibly kind, patient, and friendly. This shop exemplifies the value added by shopping local. Would recommend to anyone.

Unbelievable customer service!!! And excellent product selection. I've researched expedition tents for weeks and Gear:30 is the only Hilleberg supplier in Utah that had the tent I was looking for. I was in Salt Lake, they're in Ogden. I had a flight to catch and my time window for picking up the tent was short so they let me purchase the tent and a sleeping pad over the phone and Sarah drove it up meeting me to deliver the tent. She even double checked everything in the package to there was no risk of missing pieces for my trip. WAY above and beyond. I've never heard of that kind of customer service. They were honest, helpful, and more accommodating than I ever imagined. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Totally love this place. They have a pretty good selection of Vasque shoes and Prana clothes along with others but those are my favorites. Just about anything you need to hit the trail or rock can be found here. They even have some decent climbing guidebooks and trail books.

Great store that has plenty of selection on backpacking, camping, climbing, and hiking gear. It sells stuff at retail prices which are usually too steep for me, but I've picked up some trail running shoes at more than half the MSRP when they went clearance.

Also, if you're just in the market for footwear, their customer service was much better than what I received at Striders or Peak Performance.

They're helpful, knowledge able and have a good selection of top quality equipment. Bargains on clearance. I have had to make a return on a broken item and they did great. Support local too!

Love this store and the staff. My husband and I were temporarily relocated to Ogden, UT and rented an apartment close to the store, so we ended up frequenting the place often. The selection of goods is high quality and they had new items come in fairly often. We rented skis and boots from them, which you can t beat the price on for their rentals, and ended up buying quality ski boots there because of their selection and knowledge. Everyone working there is friendly and super helpful. We (I) were there so often that they got to know us by name and were always seemingly glad to see us. You won t be disappointed by going.

Bought a new Osprey day pack. Gentleman who helped me was very friendly and helpful.

I went here expecting to try on some climbing shoes, but I got much more than shoes. The staff was very helpful and gave me great ideas on where to climb and how to set up my anchors.

Glad these guys carry such high quality gear. REI closed out a Topo brand shoe that I couldn't find anywhere else, but GEAR:30 had 'em. Nice personalized note with my order was a nice touch too.

Order my tent (Nemo Hornet 2P) from them. They had the best price and super fast shipping! The handwritten note from Abbey was a really nice touch in today s impersonal world. I have already ordered a couple of more items from them!

very nice people, made me feel comfortable and encouraged me not be shy in trying out the gear in the store like laying down on sleeping pads, trying them with a sleeping bag, filling up backpacks with other gear to get a feel for the weight, etc.

Chill store with a good selection. Top notch gear. Very dog friendly. I wish the prices were a little more competitive, and I would probably ease off the online gas pedal.

I've been in Gear 30 several times and have always received good customer service, but last Thursday I went in looking for a specific item and received extraordinary customer service. They didn't carry what I needed and Olivia and Chase went out of their way to find a store who did carry it. When they couldn't do that either, Olivia found an alternative way to solve my problem. I was so impressed with their out-of-the-box thinking and I just thought management should know. (Thanks so much! You've earned a loyal customer!!!)

High end, name brands. Reasonable prices on gear, or name brand stuff, if that's what you need. Great selection of sleeping mats and portable tents.

Not a great many choices. It's one of those places that tries to make up for the lack of choices with location and cutesy design. For better more serious choices proceed south to recreation outlet.

I visited today, shopping for ski goggles. The woman and man employees with whom I interacted could not have been nicer. They were patient, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. No pressure at all to purchase anything. Beautiful, friendly dog enhanced my experience. I can not recommend this store more highly for snow skiing needs
