Amazing. Very clean room and it was truly handicap accessible with a roll in shower and plenty of room to manouvre. Very good food and the bartender makes fantastic brandy Manhattan.

Very pleased with this place. I wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it was. We loved the rooms, the views and the dinner! I'd definitely stay here again.
Hotel was beautiful! Great pricing! Restaurant attached was the best diner nearby!
Love staying here. Nice rooms, pleasant staff, awesome breakfast.
Wonderful place! Clean, great bar/lounge with games and patio with several gas fire pits.
This is a wonderful place to stay. Great location, very clean, spacious rooms. The food in the restaurant is fantastic as well. The bacon-wrapped tenderloin and Brussel sprouts are to die for!!
Fun times. Great folks n beautiful view of mount bauldy
Wonderful place with very big rooms, furniture made completely out of solid wood. Very quiet, perfect wifi and TV. Perfect Location
Continental Breakfast as always rather dull in the US
Great bar and deck area with beautiful view
Just added more rooms. Music on some evenings. Nice restaurant downstairs.
Love the rooms and the main areas!!! I grew up in CO and now live in TX and wanted to make this a fun trip for the entire family from what I remembered as a kid. Boy, did this hotel hit the spot!! Super nice staff! The rooms are very fund and decorated to make it feel very much like a cabin or mountain-esque. They did a nice job with the new hot tub, which we always used at night. The hotel bar/restaurant has a fantastic deck overlooking the lake and the surrounding mountains. We had dinner there our last night and I highly recommend the same for anyone else staying in Grand Lake!
Rustic and clean. Great service and so close to the park!
Stayed for3 nights. Everyone was friendly. Nice clean room. View of the mountains and lake was spectacular. Great breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Would definitely stay again.
The staff is very friendly. However for a family with children that need to sleep, this was not a good idea. There is a bar downstairs with live music (till 9pm) which was very loud and kept us up.
Also it was not worth the $160 per night. The hotel is quite rundown and badly in need of renovations. The complimentary breakfast consisted of mostly prepackaged meals and snacks. The only fresh food was apples and clementines.
The fitness room had everything one needs...
Comfortable rooms, great views from outside deck & friendly staff!
We will never stay at Gateway Inn in Grand Lake EVER!!! Their customer service and customer satisfaction does not exist
We are very very unhappy with our experience at the Gateway Inn. We live in Denver and had company here from AL and wanted to show them the best of CO. We were going to take them over the RMR National Park and we saw the weather was going to be bad so we called the day before to see if we could cancel because Grand Lake is way out of the way if you don't go over the park. We called again the day of to cancel and they would not and would not refund our money. We went ahead to Estes Park the day we were to check in to find out that indeed the park was closed. We had to drive 3 hours out of the way of our trip to get to the hotel in pouring down rain and sleet because they would not cancel and would not refund us. We got there to find out that they DID cancel out reservations. We were very tired, wet and cold and VERY MAD!!!!! They did give us the Penthouse but instead of 2 rooms with 4 queen beds, we had 2 queen beds. The room was dirty with trash in all trash cans and we would not even use the coffee opt because it was so nasty. There was some bleach under the sink that I tried to clean it with to no avail. There was also a cushion on a rocking chair that looked like someone urinated on it. So four of us had to share 2 queen beds and it was not comfortable and we all had a very hard time sleeping because we are not used to sleeping in the same bed with anyone unless it is a king bed. So very disappointing for our guest from AL that had already drove across country to get here and for us to have to drive a needless 5 hours more to get to Aspen. I marked only 1 star. Terrible customer service and satisfaction.
Winderful hotel, right next to Rocky Mountain National Park. Had a good continental breakfast, and they have smore kits available at night for roasting! Great location, you can see wildlife right outside your window.
Absolutely worst experience and customer service of our lives. We have never been treated so poorly. Would give negative stars if we could. We were so looking forward to staying here but then my grandma got sick while we were away on our honeymoon. They flat out refused to issue a refund, then lied about it on Facebook. They only agreed to give a refund of HALF and only IF the room sold. They are sold out tonight, and would have no problem at all getting that one booked as well with the eclipse and all... but they don't care about their customers at all. We gave them a 24 hour notice from the time we were expecting to arrive, but they didn't care at all and were extremely rude. Said that they required a 48 hour notice. IF WE HAD 48 HOUR NOTICE WOULDN'T WE HAVE TOLD YOU!?!?!! YOU CANNOT PLAN ALL OF LIFES EVENTS.... if you book a room here, better be sure to book family emergencies far enough in advance!
My boyfriend planned a surprise getaway weekend Valentine's weekend had the best time is an awesome Resort service you can't beat the service the restaurant is amazing we had few cocktails inside the bar at that was really nice had to go back in April I give them 5 stars One Happy customer
Absolutely wonderful place nestled in prestigious mountains!!!
It was nice. Nice view from our room and we enjoyed the bar and watching football on the TV's. Bed was comfortable, although the pillows were flat. Ear plugs were provided which made me worry that things could become noisy. We didn't end up needing them, as we had a peaceful, quiet night.
Awesome and loved it. Fun little cabin feel in a hotel. Loved the fireplace and good food not only in the hotel but in town as well. Very friendly staff and would recommend!
Great place.. nice bar with good bar food . Great service
Nice location. Bar must be local watering hole, because we could hear the yelling (from football game watching) from our room. Smell of food cooking from the bar carries to the rooms. Food in downstairs restaurant is nothing special, but the waitstaff is excellent.
Huge rooms! Fantastic porch overlooking the lake. Free afternoon popcorn. Reasonably priced.
The service was great, very friendly. The breakfast was alright, but overall good.
Great place to stay! Great Customer Service! Very clean. Location allows many different adventures!
Nice place, love the free smores. Close to national park. Beware: stores around the hotel close really early, so if you don't want to eat ice cubes for dinner, you better go early and get your food!
Just stayed overnight and the room was fine. Slept well! No one on check out at 8am which could be better.
I really enjoyed this hotel, the atmosphere is perfect for a mountain lodge, the service was very friendly. The location was very good, but my favorite part was the deck out back. They had fire pits and offered free smores to any guest. All in all, my family and I enjoyed it here.
Really nice rooms with a great location. They have cable which was amazing especially given the bad weather one day during our stay. I also appreciated that they provide full hand soap and shower soap.
Beautiful place to visit the mountains 2 hours from Denver
Most beautiful lodge ever. Could not meet any nicer people. Very clean. Comfortable and great bar drinks. And totally amazing food . Spent our honeymoon here and had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner as well.
We had a fabulous time at Gateway Inn! Everyone there was so friendly and welcoming. The two women at the restaurant downstairs were awesome-I'm sorry we didn't get your names but we loved chatting with you both mornings we were there. You cooked us two amazing breakfasts! And when we shared our engagement news with you all, you were so happy for us. We will definitely be back again soon-thank you all so much for your kindness!
Ten years ago we had our wedding reception here. Absolutely perfect! Beautiful setting and amazing room.
Nice place. They live bands. There's a bar upstairs and a restaurant downstairs. Big patio that looks out over the lake and mountains. In the morning there is a cafe and the restaurant is open for breakfast.
Beautiful place to stay! We had a great time. The lounge is a lot of fun!
A super nice hotel, too bad we bikers are only one night here
The rooms were very clean and I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. We had a balcony view which was worth the extra $10. My only cautionary tale with getting a balcony room is that the bar and hot tub are located right below the balcony rooms, so it can get a little bit loud at night. We also tried the restaurant and bar. The food at the restaurant was pricey and subpar. The bar was good though. I don't think I would go to the restaurant again, but I would definitely stay the night here again and have a few drinks in the bar.
Beautiful hotel. Rooms were nice, big and clean. We had Mountain View. The staff were really friendly. I would highly recommend.
The view from the deck is amazing. Food was great. Service was unfortunately slow...
Great place for us to stay while Snow skiing at Granby ranch , snow shoeing, and cross country skiing at the local Nordic center. Very clean accommodations, awesome outdoor hot tub, excellent Happy hour, enjoyed the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. We will definitely return in the Summer, can't wait.
Just woow..!!! The best thing happened with us was we got selected as a guest of the week and they upgraded our room. It was best part of it. However, the overall experience with the hotel staff was good. The room was great with fireplace and rustic look and mountain view balcony.
Wonderful Stay great for family and or friends. Food Fantastic. Best View in town.
Nice place. The purpose of my trip was focused on visiting RMNP, so I did little but sleep in the room (two nights). The room was clean and comfortable and quiet (the ear plugs on the night stands were not needed). Just a few things of note, none of which are truly negatives: 1. There was no one manning the desk when I arrived around 9:30 PM on the first day. It took a while to get that sorted. 2. No microwave in the room. 3. The bottles of shower gel etc. in the shower were empty. 4. The mini fridge was very small and did not have a freezer section. 5. I have nothing to say about the restaurant because it did not open in the morning before I headed to the park and was closed before I arrived back in the evening.
All in all, I would stay here again in the future.
Great room! Very kitschy log cabin decor. It was nice! Right on the lake
Beautiful hotel, nice staff, very clean. Mattress was hard.
I really love this hotel !! Dan the bartender was awesome and Nellie the waitress was so friendly! The view is awesome ! We stayed in room 115 it was a great view of the lake and mountains! The breakfast and dinner was so delicious!! I will be back
Excellent. We spent the night and felt totally safe from the virus.
Exactly what we wanted and hoped for. It was awesome views and the staff is second to none.
The bistro was so so so over priced for the quality of the meal. Service was really good, but the dining area reminded me of dining in grandmas living room or something. $85 for dinner in this environment is disappointing.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Beautiful view from our room. The hotel feels like a large log cabin. We had an awesome time and will return... our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the Troublesome fire and we hope to be able to return to the hotel and see Todd the Red fox again.
Wide bed and made by natural tree is impressive. Room is also wide and location is good for visit rockey moutain national park.
This hotel is awesome! Friendly staff make you feel welcome! The views are amazing and the rooms are so clean! We got to see a mama moose and her baby as we pulled in. We will be back again for sure! Would highly recommend!
Holy moly. Incredible buffet, all scratch made. Secret recipe sausage that is slap your momma good. Do not eat breakfast anywhere else
The hotel is no where near the lake and has no lake front view. When we got to our room we could hear the jack hammer of the construction going on in the adjacent rooms. We asked to change rooms away from the noise and were told that the construction wasn t going on although we could both see and hear that it was. The bed is uncomfortable, you can hear noise all around you, and overall there are much nicer options in this little town.
Overall a nice place to stay. I managed to score a Balcony room on the mountain side, and was satisfied. The view was wonderful, the lake is a little far off, so your more seeing the mountains than water. The room was clean, and well maintained. I mentioned we we're celebrating a birthday, and the staff went out of their way to acknowledge it. The bar is adequate enough, the whole staff is super friendly, and there is an excellent restaurant downstairs for killer breakfasts. I wasn't a fan of the parking lot. I'm satisfied with everything.
Clean facilities, great location, kind staffs, friendly atmostphere! Enjoyed the stay
Family Friendly, cozy, awesome customer service, beautiful views, happy hour... Rooms with bunk beds for the kids... Reasonable prices.
We loved staying at the Gateway Inn. It is a really nice establishment.
Nice clean woodsy styled hotel with good paved parking. Free wifi, great breakfast buffet, and smores on the large deck facing the lake at night. The outdoor hot tub is awesome on a cool evening. There is a bar on site with a small hot food menu(chicken wings, 3 pizza flavors, sloppy joes, chicken fajitas) . Our 3 night stay was really good and the reason I knocked off a star is the price for the value, it's a tourist place with a tourist price.
Better than expected. Excellent property. Very cozy.
Great room. And amenities were great. Clean and updated
Have stayed here a couple of times, and it is a comfy, rustic place. Very romantic for couples, and picturesque. Nice little town just a few minutes away.
The staff is awesome, friendly and helpful. The lounge is lively, and the restaurant is charming. Get in on a deal and save some money, you won't regret staying here either way.
Everything was beautiful and the service was great with comfortable beds the only negative was the breakfast
Nice stay. We had a fireplace/balcony room and it was awesome. The staff was very friendly and the bistro had amazing food.
Very wholesome hotel, very friendly and cooperative staff. Excellent viewsnfrok the lounge, and great food from the bistro, which is also full of very friendly and excellent staff. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area.
Love this place. Great location and everyone is friendly. Saw a bear right outside my window (ground level parking lot) a few years back getting into a trash can and have seen several moose walk through the property
Rooms could use better upkeep but it's still a nice place to stay.
Pros:
Friendly staff
Great views and atmosphere
Nice sauna
Deck fire pits
Cons:
Hot tub not working
Beds super uncomfortable (soft with no support and kinda warped)
The bar was fantastic. The beds were way to soft and bouncy for us. It did seem outdated. We unfortunately did not get a room with a view, but we did get a 12 am wake up call from a bear trying to get in to a trash can. Only time we've seen a bear ever....lol. Breaksfast, you're better off getting your own somewhere else.
Had a great time, very friendly staff and excellent happy hour choices and prices. Breakfast was decent, but would have liked more healthy options (nice to have a continental breakfast with hot food!). Room was smaller than expected, but it never felt cramped or crowded. Worth the trip and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I'm back in Grand Lake.
Great little stop in Grand Lake. Small hotel vibe. Ate in the bar area. The meatball plate was dynamite. Rooms are quaint, comfortable and quiet. Decor is woodsy and set the mood.
A MUST STAY. First stayed here @ the Gateway Inn 2004, fast forward 15 years later 2019 its still the amazing place that I keep coming back to when @ Grand Lake. The staff here is over the top welcoming and friendly. A warm welcoming atmosphere, cozy. The rooms are cozy, spacious and furnished with 100% hand made wood furniture. NOW the icing is on Sundays, for the Denver Broncos games is what sold me. The locals gather @ the Gateway Inn and put together a Potluck-for the game. The atmosphere is so pleasant and everyone is so joyful and welcoming. Also when the Broncos score a TD, the bar gives out free shots. Now I live in Colorado Springs and would much rather make the drive to the Gateway INN to watch the Bronco Game and stay the evening than actually go to the game in itself. None the less, aside from Bronco Sunday @ the Gateway INN, I d say you owe it to yourself to stay here and enjoy Grand Lake. Colorado resident for 28+ years. Enjoy.
great atmosphere, friendly staff, and kid friendly .
Very nice room and a great restaurant in the basement
Great stop. It was surprisingly nice. We weren't expecting it to be for whatever reason. The rooms were spacious and the town here is cool too. We liked the views from our balcony and that the rooms felt like the mountains. We would definitely stay again.
Nicer hotel. Good views. Close to National Park. Friendly atmosphere.
Overall, this place is fantastic. We had a great stay. The room was very clean and well furnished. We had zero issues with noise and slept great. We would absolutely stay here again. Two small issues to mention. First, the free WiFi is terrible - as in the worst I ve ever experienced at a hotel. They charge for premium WiFi. Instead of nickel and diming folks, why not provide faster internet free of charge? It s the small things. Finally, their website says if you ask for an upgrade and they have availability, they will give you one. Instead, when I asked about this I was offered an upsell for an extra $40 to a room with a balcony and fireplace. Gave a bad impression. But again, overall great.
